Completely inappropriate staff and demeanor from Nate Valdez!!!! He is a terrible employee and above all human being. Seems he lives above everyone is his world as the director of rooms at this property. I've been staying with Marriott and specifically Sheraton for too many years to be treated poorly by the likes of a director nonetheless. Went in with a reservation and honestly glad that I didn't receive a stay. Nate is extremely rude and unprofessional to disabled persons and anyone not aligned with his ideals. I really hope many will think twice with choosing to stay and book at this property or those who have to encounter the likes of him. I will never ever ever return to stay with any Marriott in New Mexico again due to this treatment. Absolute disgraceful property and staff. Avoid at all costs. Rather give my money and patience to places that value my business and are just decent human beings.

Don't expect more than a Motel 6 or Super8. It's an old, rundown, understaffed dump! I was forced to stay here, for a work trip. 5 out of the 6 of us, had either OCCUPIED or UNCLEAN rooms. We had to wait an hour, to have the rooms cleaned. The afternoon front desk staff was very apologetic. They gave us a $10 food/beverage voucher. It was definitely NOT enough. The room is dirty and rundown. The thermostat control didn't work. I went to take a shower and a piece of the faucet broke off in my hand. I just wanted to take a shower and go to bed. I had to call 3 times and go to the front desk to get it fixed. The staff is overwhelmed with dirty broken rooms. I have to be at work at 3:30 am. I'm hoping that the shower works, because I gave up today. The room is stocked with decaf coffee. I asked 4 cleaning people. They don't have any regular coffee in the hotel. If you are looking for an old rundown, dirty hotel - this is the place for you! You might have better luck at a Motel 6 or Super8.

The rooms are very comfortable. Great location. My biggest complaint are the pillows. They are flat and give me neck and shoulder aches. We flew in, so couldn’t bring my own. Even stacking them wasn’t comfortable.

Attended a banquet there, was nice. Weird wait service, 8 people at our table, served 3 people their dinner. They finished their meal before rest of us were served. Generally All folks at table served at same time. ODD!! Speaker was great, dancers great.

Gym was great and 5 stars. Had a wide array of machines and free weights to satisfy most needs. Indoor Pool is an amazing feature. Customer service and front desk attitude was horrendous. Staff seemed annoyed with lack of compassion. Front desk attendant did not make me feel welcomed. I asked simple questions such as wifi, gym & pool location, and guest parking, and the front desk attendant in her robotic monotone response was not helpful, nor welcoming at all. I felt as if I was annoying her by asking my questions, from her demeanor and attitude. The other front desk attendants tried to step in and answer my questions, but horrible first initial experience for my business conference being held here. A "smile" is a basic expectation/standard in the hospitality industry, but was a foreign concept during my front desk interaction. Front desk Lacking management, culture, and direction. Last but not least, the bedding was the most uncomfortable experience in a hotel I've ever had. I thought i would never see the cheap mattresses and metallic bed frames from college, but Sheraton Uptown must've received a new shipment from garage sale. Mattress buckled and were super worn without any coziness/comfort. Bedding and comfort should be a priority in any hotel, this severely missed the mark on that.

Overall, a disappointing stay. Sheraton has always been, in my understanding, a premium hotel brand. My wife and I and our son stayed here for a wedding at the Sheraton this weekend, since it was convenient a luxury to be right there. The room was, of course, more expensive than our normal Fairfield Inn/Hampton Inn preferences. Unfortunately, it was BAD. I noticed stained and peeling ceiling finishes in the hall on the way to it, and once inside the room, the first thing to see was small hairballs on the carpet. The air conditioning roared so loud that we struggled to sleep peacefully, and would not take the temperature below maybe 73 or 74 F. The mini fridge had jelly on the racks. There was hair on the wall of the shower. In general, we were completely unsatisfied with the room. And with our infant son needing a nap when we checked in, we were too tired to request a different room. The redeeming quality of the stay was when we checked out. We spoke with the manager, and he was very apologetic and understanding. He listened carefully to our specific issues, and knocked $50 off our stay. That left a much better impression than we otherwise would have left with!

We booked a 4 night stay and received Ambassador status recognition of an upgrade to a suite. Apparently some of the rooms in this hotel are upgraded so they had us in one of those rooms, but we preferred to have more space. The front desk was friendly upon arrival. They walked us to our room as there are two entrances and didn't want us to get confused. Pros: - If you are able to get into the lounge it has decent offerings for breakfast and in the evenings. - Nice views from the lounge - Lots of free parking - It's located near some restaurants/shops Cons: - One of the days we were there the lounge didn't have food because the staff member was late. Seems like management should be checking on the lounge - The rooms need a facelift - ours was full of carpet stains and mismatched old furniture. - They were very busy during my stay (rumor was that the president's Air Force one staff was staying). They had made a mistake on my bill - not sure how the mistake happened - but they kept assuring me that it would be fixed. I had paid with points and they charged me tax claiming that it was a new policy to charge tax with point stays (which is absolutely not true). I told them that I wanted it fixed while I was still there to save myself time of having to call to adjust the bill. Finally someone came out and did some simple adjustments on the computer and I left with a corrected bill. Reminder to ALWAYS look at your bill and know the policies when using reward stays. In general when returning to Albuquerque I'd probably look for a different place to stay as this one was very average and nothing memorable.

When you arrive in ABQ and you walk out of the airport and see the Sheraton sign with an arrow pointing to a Sheraton shuttle bus, you would be MISTAKEN in thinking that the shuttle is for customers. I approached the shuttle and asked if this goes to the Uptown location, the driver said NO, shut the door in my face and drove away. When I got to the hotel the front desk told me that it's only for flight crew. So don't make my mistake! The rooms are comfortable and we'll appointed, they have a micro, a large cooler (fridge) and plenty of space. However, my AC didn't work and even though the technicians came the next day, it never really cooled the room down. Since I was only there for a few hours at night or wasn't a big deal, but it was warm the whole time. The 3rd day I had some crew checking in, they had driven for 16 hours and we had a long 14 hour work day the next day. I told the front desk that I was aware that check in wasn't until 4pm (it was 3pm at this point) and was very superciliously told by the young African-American man that we should know the rules, he cannot just check people in and was very haughty. Ale (pronounced Alley) was at the front desk and waved me over and immediately found two rooms that were ready so my guys is get some rest. Ale helped us throughout our stay and went way above and beyond. One feature I really enjoyed was that the ice machine actually had a water fountain built in to it so you can fill your water bottle as well! There is also a microwave she a vending machine in the same room. I think this is an amazing feature and a big thumbs up to Sheraton for installing this. The other employee I would like to commend is Cristine (I hope I got her name right, she was at the desk at 1400h on 07/25/2023). The hotel is very relaxed, service is quite slow, so if you're in a rush to eat and leave, I is suggest going next door to the amazing Sunnyside Cafe. The food is quite good at the hotel by very slow. They do have a robot delivering food so that's a fun thing to watch it you have kids. In all, I would stay here again, and never deal with the rude shuttle driver or gentleman at the front desk. Otherwise it's a good hotel with plenty of facilities for families or business travellers. A nice accommodation central to a lot of shopping and eating options. The food was good and filling..I think our crew especially liked the nice breakfast spread. The rooms are a bit on the dark side but the bed was comfy. It’s not a five star hotel but it gets five stars from our crew for the needs we had.

Absolutely wonderful staff! Whether it was helping me check in or helping me find my phone by calling it, or giving me extra towels. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that my stay was comfortable and full of smiles!!! The overall ambience of the hotel is also very inviting and makes you want to stay in the lobby and chitchat and make new friends!

The hotel is in a great location and the room was clean and spacious. The T.V. was huge. The staff on check-in was very friendly and efficient.

Had a great, comfortable stay. The hotel was in a good location for what I wanted to do, but I could easily see others not liking it. All in all, I'd be happy to stay here again, particularly if it's so convenient to what I'm in Albuquerque for.

I recently stayed at the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown and found it to be a mixed experience. While the hotel has its merits, it's clear that a makeover is desperately needed. On the positive side, the water pressure in the showers was truly impressive, providing a refreshing and relaxing experience. The mattress was alright, though a bit too bouncy for my liking. One notable downside was the outdated popcorn ceiling that harkened back to the '80s. It gave the room a dated and less appealing ambiance. Despite this, I was pleasantly surprised by the Sheraton Club Level, which offered an awesome opportunity to enjoy breakfast and added a touch of luxury to my stay. In summary, the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown has its strengths, but the need for a much-needed renovation is evident. The standout water pressure and the convenience of the Sheraton Club Level balanced out some of the drawbacks.

This is the last time I will stay at this hotel. I always stay here when passing through town. The bar tender, who was in a foul mood this evening, said I am not allowed to have more than two drinks with dinner, and I am staying at the hotel! She probably did not want to work her whole shift tonight, so the hotel patrons get shafted. I will not stay at a place that treats their guests as children. Out of the 123 nights, I have stayed in Marriott hotels so far this year (and counting). This is the first time I have been treated like this. I blame poor management on this. I'll stay down the road next time.

I accidentally left a ring in room 403. I called them that evening they checked on lost and found it wasn’t there. They were going to check with housekeeping the next day. I called the next and they still haven’t checked with housekeeping. The hotel was going to call me back after checking with housekeeping but I never heard from them. Usually a great place to stay but the service was subpar. Yes, leaving the ring was my mistake but calling them soon after checkout to see if any of their staff found it and then not hearing from them after the third time calling left a sour taste.

Overpriced for sure… Location is fantastic. A lot of shopping and food all around. Safe location. The rooms are a little old. Walls are super thin. We could hear next room talking. Bathrooms are small and the tub has mold. The pool is indoor and stays open late which is nice however they completely filled in the hot tub with rocks 🙄. We stayed two nights. No one ever came to clean our room ( even though we called front desk and requested) . Parking and Wi-Fi are free. Lobby and staff are nice. Breakfast buffet is $18 per person. I feel we over paid at $200 a night for a moldy bathtub.

The staff was very friendly but the hotel is in dire need of an update. The carpet is dirty and torn/snagged in many places. The bathroom is tired and dark. The hot water in the shower is just warm. Hotel is in a good location with lots of food options around. Beds are comfortable. But hotel really needs an update.

Staff here just is not up to stuff. There's so much confusion about how the breakfast works, costing 25 dollars and we were told we got 2 Starbucks items. Finally after they realized you can order a meal too after discussing it, but the meals are not worth. But worse is trying to remove this service, staff is downright rude while you're trying to understand them. On the plus side, my room at least was clean though my friend's wasn't. Spacious as well. Shower has hot water, and I very much like the locked floors so I can feel that extra bit secure. But honestly all of these positives are overshadowed by just how rude the staff was.

We worried after seeing reviews - no surprise that our stay wasn’t impressive. Fairly clean, but run down rooms. Ceiling vents were very dusty, so it was stuffy. Lobby was nice, but I’d rather stay elsewhere until they either update the rooms or get a deep clean in.

When you travel a lot, hotels become your first home and a hotel that understand your needs and make the impossible to make them possible is really the place where you want to stay. Add on, the hotel is also very nice, spacious and very clean rooms, extremely friendly and helpful staff. The location is also very convenient, close to a big mall and quite a few restaurants around in a walking distance.

My family and I stayed one night April 14,2022 we were in town for a funeral. As I was looking online for the Hotel service's we chose for a indoor pool and sauna! Because both were available. Well come to find out the pool was open. The sauna was not, the open spot where the sauna was had been boarded up with a flat piece of plywood. I mentioned to the staff member at the desk about it and what was said! was I am so sorry. That's it.

What an amazing experience, especially since we were fortunate enough to have Savanna assist us with our accommodations! We had to book a last minute stay due to some issues with our AirBnB and Savanna was able to get us an AMAZING suite with very little notice! Not only that, she even gave us a complimentary breakfast and first class service. I will definitely ONLY being staying at this resort in the future mainly due to the excellent and amazing service Savanna and her team provided. You were truly a breath of fresh air Savanna, and we greatly appreciate you making us feel like we were at home!

Went there for an open casting call for background actors. Although I have had agents, lines and SAG credits, I still went since it's been years since I've been on set. The hotel looks very nice. I did not eat or sleep there. Employees were very nice and professional.

This hotel is centered right downtown around the mall area it was very busy and loud good thing was I couldn't really hear it from my room. I went down to order dinner in the restaurant and it took forever to get a waitress to come take my order. The room was very clean I will say that but the tub was famed and under the sink you could tell that they had done some work that had not been put together very well. Overall I would rate this about a four out of five stay worth your time if you want to go downtown and in the parking lot it clearly states not responsible if your vehicle is stolen or property from your vehicle is stolen park at your own risk just letting you know that now.

The rooms were nice and the hotel was clean. Our kids had fun in the pool. We wanted to give a shout out to Nate. Our 12 year old forgot his baseball glove in the room. We live 9 hours away and Nate helped us get it back!

Beds were comfortable and room was clean and quiet. Note, there is a fridge but there are no microwaves in the rooms. You have to go to a common area to use one. Also when I asked the front desk I was informed that there is no guest laundry room available but there is a laundromat a mile or two down the road. Overall it was a nice hotel and I would stay here again.

We had a great experience overall. Nate, one of the managers, was extremely helpful and made sure that we were taken care of thruought our stay. The hotel has a small indoor pool, good size conference rooms. The rooms were clean and good size. I recommend staying at the VIP 8th floor if possible! All staff was friendly except the night bartender, she seemed annoyed and was short with everyone sitting at the bar. I think she might of had a bad day.

Very good wifi and a decent bar are about all the positive I can say. The rooms are extremely dated and weird... Brown and tan everything. The TV is worthless. Most importantly is comfort though. The air conditioning system doesn't seem to care what number you ask for; it's not going to change anything. And the I tried over the course of a day, so it's not a fluke, but I had no hot water in the shower. The sink came out piping hot, but the shower did not. I tried all settings on the handle and it just went from lukewarm to full cold. Either way, it was a fast scrub that still left me shivering.

Stayed here 5 years ago and was great! Polar opposites this time around! How far this property has fallen since then….. - Had to run the shower 10 minutes for lukewarm water - room service dishes left outside the door 12+ hours across the hall starting to ripen - back to the room following a long day out and about to discover room not cleaned - called down to the front desk asking for towels and toilet paper (room not cleaned) and was told someone would be right up. 45 minutes later still no towels or toilet paper. - called front desk again and was told they weren’t sure when they could bring me these necessities! Only 2 people on shift. Hire more workers Sheraton! Or adjust the prices to reflect the terrible service! Wasted my points on this very disappointing stay!

No hot water in the showers (in the evening and the morning), rooms were a bit old and run down, and (this part isn’t really the hotel’s fault, but beware it could happen to you) the night I stayed, the hotel hosted a school soccer team that kept the entire floor awake running around and screaming all night. I’d just driven 12 hours from Memphis through the ice storm, and all I wanted was a warm shower and a quiet night’s sleep. Half of this was probably just bad luck, but I really had an awful night. Thankfully, it was just a brief layover. In spite of all this, the hotel staff was very kind and professional, and I appreciate their efforts to make the guests as comfortable as possible.

Rooms are getting dated but well maintained overall. Staff is friendly and welcoming. A few odd ball things this stay but nothing that would make me change my reservation. It's always busy and upbeat

  • 4/5 Carol K. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms were a bit rough. Carpet coming up in places. Plastic bags covering an old light fixture in the ceiling. Patchwork done on the ceiling. Curtains coming down a bit on ends. Service was well above and beyond. The front desk helped me with several business favors and were incredibly helpful. The catering and event office was great! The food service our group had was great. Would highly recommend their staff if you have an event.

Great location. Check in was a breeze BUT a little info would have been nice. Such as needing your room key to operate the elevators. Great idea but not the norm so we were not expecting it. Also, reservation said breakfast was included but we couldn't figure out where this breakfast was being served at 8am on a Tues. Rooms were clean but front desk needs a refresher.

This hotel used to be really great! It was close to my family and very nice to stay in. I just visited in October and the rooms were terrible. The television was way off to the side, which made it impossible to watch in bed. The lighting was so yellow, it was impossible to put your makeup on for those women who need good lighting. I couldn’t even put my makeup on by the window with a mirror because the TV was stuck close to the window. The refrigerator was also next to the window and was never cold. The one think I couldn’t handle was the lighting. You walk into the bathroom and you looked like a yellow alien in the mirror because of that terrible lighting. The rooms were so outdated, it looked like they were catering to the visitors that were attending the wedding receptions downstairs more than the people who slept there. They spared no cost to make themselves look good, including robots carrying around food. Maybe they should save a little money and update the bedrooms, especially including lighting that is more appealing.
