This experience was the absolute worst of my life. I went into out inpatient voluntarily seeking coping mechanisms to assist me because I was in a fragile suicidal state. I was treated like an animal, in fact one staff member Brett suggested that I be caged like an animal. Unless you want to color “art therapy” & watch TV- there is NO therapy- just a hoard of nurses on a complete power trip who seem to find it amusing to threaten & bully patients at their most vulnerable state. There were not adequate sleeping conditions & I was offered the padded room. I have 20 years of experience in the medical field, 5 in mental health. HIPPA violations were a joke. I heard of many of my co-patients symptoms, illnesses & so forth. Olivia- treated some patients with kindness- the others with disgust. Some women could wear a garment- the others could not (yoga pants!!) I was lucky enough to have a superior medical team to remove me from the situation quickly & within 12 hours of entering the unit… as I most certainly left the unit more broken than I entered. I never took these reviews seriously as I am very trusting of my physician. However the inpatient psychiatrist urged me to do this- REPORT THE TRUTH!! Abuse of power is not the standard of care that PBH should take lightly. You have a 2 star rating for a reason… we are all forced to leave 1 star just to leave a review. I am an advocate for people with mental health getting BETTER, not WORSE. This is not the place to heal. Patients in a fragile condition deserve compassion & care. This is not the place to find it. Presbyterian has some of the best facilities & most wonderful physicians within their network I have had care for me & the pleasure of working with. This inpatient facility needs some serious re evaluation… in every single aspect- starting with the nursing staff.

Such a traumatic experience for me. the doctors do not actually care about your well being. one even threatened me to keep me longer against my will the first time i walked in because he heard my dad was trying to get me out, before i even said a word. the staff is very nice but all you do is do art and go to gym. maybe invest in some individual therapy and some group therapy because this did not help me at all, just scared me. I would recommend looking into a more well established facility for you kids so that they do not come home with added on trauma.

Maria, who answers the phone, is very rude. Doesn't allow you to finish speaking and actually hung up on me today before I was done asking questions and when I pointed out that I have been waiting for a phone call back. You can tell she's just generally unhappy by her tone. Also, she always puts you on speaker phone. Pretty sure this is a HIPPA violation because I doubt she is in an office alone. Before you call, just know you need to be forceful with her otherwise she will treat you like garbage.

Absolutely horrible. I had been having neurological issues for some time. I had passed out in a hotel room and was taken to the er. I am not able to talk very well so without any hesitation the doctors decided that I was crazy and admitted me to psychiatric ward. I spent about a week there but the whole time, a was dizzy, nauseous and felt like I was going to fall over. No one seemed to care. At the end of 7ish days the doctor then concluded that it was neurological and that the best they could do was give me a neuro consult after discharge. Literally terrified to go back there.

Worst place I have ever been. I was in a car accident and afterwards spoke with a friend who thought I was suicidal and sectioned me. It was awful. The people who work there made me feel like I was subhuman, there was no empathy, I would get a hand in the face if I asked a question because I was interrupting an employees conversation about their day. If I was suicidal, that would be the last place I would go to! I left after 3 hours feeling humiliated, utterly humiliated. Do not send your loved ones there, they will not be treated with any kind of respect or dignity!

This place disgusts me. They have no respect for younger patients, constantly yelling at them when they are already fragile and only need help. You are treated like a prisoner here and the only way out is lying, but obviously if you don't lie they lock you up and take away everything from you. Only a few of the night staff are actually nice human beings who care, but during the day isn't as lucky. If you show any kind of extreme emotion or have a breakdown , whether it be from depression, a panic attack, or a psychotic episode, you are instantly given the needle that is forcefully stabbed into your butt and sent into a padded room, no sort of comfort just isolation. This place deserves to be taken down

The reviews seem consistent. I went a couple years ago but am writing this now as I was going to try again and decided not to. I went in for a self-inflicted cut on my arm. It wasn't very deep but opened up (sorry for the details) quite a bit. Apparently they won't just let you get your treatment and go. I was sat for 2 hours before anyone cleaned it or anything. A psychologist saw me but didn't really do much, at least he was kind. I don't remember his name. But nonetheless not especially helpful. I hated how it was still solely my responsibility to find a psychologist and therapist but it wasn't my choice to be held there. I really just needed resources and I got none.

They put me in a room by myself for 24 hours a day for 8 days straight. No assessment, no treatment, they didn't even notice that I wasn't able to eat for 4 days. It was a thoroughly miserable and useless experience. Don't send your dog to this facility.

I am grateful for the compassion of the nurses and techs. Their care saved my life after I suffered a breakdown (Spiritual Awakening). Unfortunately my mental health care was cut short with a COVID outbreak in their south unit. I was sent home before my psychiatrist thought I should, so I was abandoned by the hospital and left to fight both my mental health issues and COVID on my own. I wore my mask the entire time I was there. I did what I was supposed to do to protect the staff and patients, but there was NO protection for me. Couple of suggestions - sell the Skuit kiln that is sitting in the art room closet and put the money toward the abandoned dilapidated gym. - actually enforce mask outside of rooms. It was very common to see staff with masks pulled down or not properly worn. You test all patients before they go into the unit.. so one of the staff brought in COVID. - Invest in your people. They are short staffed and burnt out. You should have resilience in your operations. Your people will end up being your patients. You have been in the COVID era for years now, you should know how to bring in extra help to support your "family" - Privacy is a big issue. Often times diagnosis, symptoms, or PII is hollered across the unit. They removed the doors and curtains from the bathroom. If you step up on the stool bolted to the floor you can look across to the other unit right into their bathrooms. - Short staffed means people uncounted for. One member of the south unit was missed in the courtyard. He banged on the windows and waved at the security cameras with no luck. He ended up coming over the fence and walking back in the front door. Again Understaffed - Integrity in your controls and operations is an issue. I was told not to drink coffee unless it was decaf. Three days I had breakfast with what I thought was decaf because the receipt said it was decaf and it was signed off by a Quality check. I couldn't figure out why I was so anxious and my BP was higher those days. The following day, after I was informed by a different dietician that it was in fact caffeinated, no coffee no issue. This is a stimulate that triggers cortisol and adrenaline. Why did this happen. - Expand your Yoga/Meditation/Storage room to accomodate all patients

THIS is the reason we have a mental health crisis! My adult son waited 4 hours while people who came in after him were taken in before him. Then when he was called back, waited another 4 hours to see someone. You don't triage any patients and you deserve to lose your status as a state health care provider. You don't care about any of the patients in need

So I went here way back in 2021 (February) for the first time for trying to end my life, (This was the child ward btw) it was a good experience (as good as being in the psych ward can get). The children there were kind of rude, but that's not the hospital's fault and the kids were not in the best state of mind (I mean they are in a psych ward for a reason), so it's not really their fault either. The food and state of the rooms wasn't bad either. They really helped and I got put on mood stabilizers of various kind. The two people that helped the most was someone named Arron? Erin? (I don't know how tho spell their name) she was or is a tech there, and Dr. Sharon (I think that's his name). I miss Erin. I'm writing this because I hope this will help someone choose this hospital to stay at and because I've heard horror stories about others . this place means so much to me because it was the start to getting better And I hope it can be for you too.

The turnover rate here is insane. I've been through three different counselors so far, each time I have to start over and re-live the experiences I'm trying to work through but the counselors always end up quitting/retiring/moving before we make any progress so I'm worse off than before because I've had to dive into my experiences in detail and then when I'm ready to begin work processing it my counselor leaves and I'm assigned to a new one to start over. My CNP also left and they didn't have another one so I have to begin that process all over.

I have filed an official complaint regarding this facility. This is nothing more than medical prison, the showers in jail are at least hot! They are not interested in giving real treatment, there is no actual therapy, they seem more interested in tranquilizing you and billing your insurance for unnecessary tests. It took them 4 days to offer me actual bipolar medication,3 days to participate in group activities, 6 days to meet my dietary needs. The patient advocacy is a joke, it took 3 days for them to respond. They sent the manager of the unit who seemed very uncaring and not truly concerned with any of the issues. None of the patients there are receiving adequate care, and there is NO HOT WATER in the shower that barley drizzles out of the shower head. DRNM the organization that plasters there signs through the unit for patient advocacy is likewise a joke!

Worst experience with a mental "help" facility. Rude sarcastic receptionists, cynical nurses, and doctors who are conveniently out of town when you need them. Need help? SEEK OTHER HELP
