Had a nice family vibe to it. Seem to be locals really and wasn't overly busy for a Friday evening. Food was ok. Not the best. Garlic bread tasted burn. Went again and seems the food taste better with the burnt flavour as they are definitely keeping that going. But got to say the nachos were lush with a healthy portion of sauces and dips! Yet the second time round, these have lost their luster. Pics and menus added. With food and drink the price was very reasonable. Worth popping by. Enjoy.

Didn't order a meal, but had a Banks-s Original and a packet of scratchings for £4.50. No problem to try before you buy. Good quality ale and enthusiastic service. Large pub and big enough car park

Small portions, badly cooked food, food came out here and there, put the wrong food on our order, when the last person on our table got there food most of us had finished eating, most of the menu was apparently out of stock also. Asked for no tomato or mushroom, was given them anyway. Peppercorn sauce was watery, dirty brown and cold. Severely unimpressed. Servers were staring at us and making us feel uncomfortable although we hadn't caused any problems or been awkward while being here, we just wanted to eat. Gave us a dirty, marked, yellow knife (for cooked meat) to cut our birthday cake. Complete cross contamination. Also have us dirty spoons to eat said cake. Ruined a 50th birthday celebration and we are all still starving. Wish we hadn't paid for such a shoddy meal.

There were 8 of us, who ordered meals, drinks, and some of us had dessert. Man who served us and the waitress were lovely. We have been here loads of times over the years. And this was most probably the best meal we have had, and quick cooking it etc. No issues with any of the meals. All good.

On arrival at the bar and saying I had a table booked and then told there would be at least a 1 hour wait we promptly left. If staff looked after the people who had booked tables instead of squeezing in people who hadn't booked it would solve the problem. Instead we enjoyed a take-away from the chippy over the road as not to spoil our night completely. Reply to Team Whitehouse comments. Your quiz night doesn't start until 9pm and a majority who attend come about 8.45pm. Our visit was at 6.52pm for a booked table at 7pm. so that's a poor excuse. That's not the first time its happened we where left waiting at a table about 5 weeks ago for 1hour and 10 minutes after getting drinks and in between reordered drinks on the app and had to ask after 20 minutes where the drinks were. I suggest you restructure your business to what you can handle and not squeeze in what you can't this way you'll have satisfied customers.

This place was recommended to me by someone who comes in regularly in the week. Not sure whether the chefs are different on a weekend as my medium steak was cremated 3 out of 4 of us sent our meals back. I wouldn't have given any stars but the server was lovely and did her best to resolve the issue, excellent customer service shame about the chefs!

Visited yesterday for food with friends, I order loaded surf and turf which tasted amazing and the steak was good just how I like it. Claire looked after us so well even though it was busy and could of done with another staff member to help her out. Claire thank you for being so attentive while we was there and we will definitely be back again soon. The Whitehouse is definitely changing for the better. Keep up the great work.

Waited ages for my food when it came it was just steak chips and onion rings. When if finally came out I was in need of a drink. The waitress said can I get you anything else I said a Pepsi please. She said sorry I only work in the kitchen there was a massive que at the bar so i went without. When I paid asked what should have been on the steak dish as there were no peas fried onions or mushrooms. The girl behind the bar said on no we run out sorry you should have been told.... she was the one who served me. Paid full price for half a meal. Definitely won't be returning.

Our sunday lunch ( if you can call it that). Chicken and pigs in blankets were burnt a lot. Chicken was so burnt couldn't cut it i took it home for the dog. The bar staff looked so miserable . Sorry just saying how it was.

Amazing from start to finish. Came in with my family and Claire greeted us with a very friendly hello. Answered all questions we had & also kept checking on us throughout out time in the pub. Extremely happy with the service we received & the food we had was lovely. Thank you again Claire for making our family meal out that little bit more special.

Great new, friendly, accommodating management. Can’t do enough. Lots of smiles and laughs. Very approachable. Maybe improve on giving them back sky sports - brought a lot of locals in. Shame for them to lose customers who now go elsewhere to watch sport. Even if it’s just during the football season.

Great new manager who actually cares about the business, Claire is a breath of fresh air. She really cares about the pub and who comes into the business. The food is always amazing and the team are always accommodating. This is a great pub to visit and will definitely be coming back again soon.

I went with my wife to celebrate our 55 anniversary. I ordered a 8 ounce sirloin steak medium to well when it came it was like having to carve leather. My wife had her hunter’s chicken which was ok. The staff asked me to try rump ok. When it arrived it was the same. My wife had finished her meal when my gammon 3rd choice meal had arrived so I was eating on my own. What a shambles. Ruined our night. To be fair the waiter said that was the fourth steak sent back today.

came here for food with my friends on the 18/11/23. hadn't been here before but will definitely be back. the food was all correct when brought to the table even though the pub was busy, nice and hot too! also would like to add it was nice to actually get a table check at a pub as this doesn't seem to happen at other pubs anymore so 10/10! Emma and Claire both stood out very friendly and couldn't do enough to help us during our visit.

We went here for the first time after searching the local area for somewhere to eat. I was really impressed overall and had an enjoyable time. I found the staff to be helpful and friendly, and the absolute winner was the food. It was all hot and perfectly cooked. Shall be going again and I'd highly recommend a visit.

For a chain pub the standard of food is actually really high and really tasty. The staff are always very good

Despite most of the main course food on the menu not being available (Wednesday night 28/6/23) which was a shame, one member of staff more than anything else more than made up for the disappointment. What a delight to find someone these days who takes her job seriously and goes the extra mile to look after customers. Nothing was too much trouble for her, in fact hospitality staff everywhere could take lessons from her... so thank you to Siobhan we had a lovely night thanks to you. Anne L

Partners main food was very cold and deserts took 40mins to come, they were pretty quiet too so no excuse. And there was a hair on the side of my partner's dessert plate

Nice restraunt and seemed like a nice place to relax with a drink also, food was a little disappointing not having complete plate as written on menu and the mega mix grill was not mega for a big plate item it was a normal size at most other restraunts and missing several menu items. staff are great and quick to serve.

Don't try and phone as they never answer, the menu on the website not the same when you get there(no Sunday lunches),knives and forks in old dirty tin cans on the table, all the seats are dirty, understaffed but the staff that where there where good. Food was OK not much choice for vegetarians/vegans. Upside they allow dogs

A good meal in a relaxing atmosphere. Monday tea time. Two for a tenner. Cheaper than going shopping for it, buying ingredients, cooking it then washing up. Well worth going again, and we did.

We should have complained really and not just left a poor review. The chips must have been reheated and rock hard. My steak was rock hard and greatly overdone and my gammon was undercooked, and the tables were untidy with bits of food left on them. The ale and larger were fine

Lovely cheap pub grub in nice surroundings. We went for a walk over Aldridge Airport which is opposite later and it was a lovely day. I ate the Vegan dish which was lentil and burnt aubergine chili..it was delish! Will be going back 100%

Compliments to the chef tonight. I had sirloin steak and chips. Steak cooked to perfection and really tender. Husband really enjoyed his mac and cheese too. Great value for money. Pub very clean .

Not bad. The food was okayish. I was served a rump steak masquerading as a sirloin steak and paid more for the privilege. Pepper sauce had the taste of air. Luckily, I was hungry, so I ate a fair bit.

Friendly service, good pub grub. Only one niggle really, my moms macaroni cheese came out in a huge dish, it made it look like there was hardly anything there, she eats very much with her eyes and if the look of food is not appealing it puts her off. Mom did however say it was nice after complaining half the way through eating it. The lime soda we ordered not stirred so tasted much nicer when we got to the bottom of our drinks. All in all I would give an 8/10 and would go again.
