Friendly warm and welcoming, the course can be tailored suit your individual needs. The studies and give you extra help in areas needed. Staff are easy to talk to and are readily available suggest solutions and help resolve any issues should they arise whether related to the studies or any other traveling issues such as obtaining an extension visa. "Ahlan" is a great language school with great people. Professional and friendly teachers are at your disposition for classical or dialect arabic and italian. I recommend it!

My experience at this school has been more than just excellent! My teacher was extremely competent (a real expert of the arabic language) and patient and motivating and flexible for what exactly my personal gaps, weaknesses and needs were. Furthermore, she is a wonderful person. the school itself is a place where you can feel at home from the first moment you enter it. Everybody is welcoming and makes you feel at ease, feeling that it is a place where you can always go and feel comfortable. It has a really lovely atmosphere. Also the calligraphy course was interesting and fascinating! Ihighly recommend the school and am looking forward to go back to study there again!

We spent a delightful two weeks in Alexandria, learning Egyptian colloquial Arabic at Ahlan. Amira did a great job of making arrangements for us, including car pickup at the airport, accommodations at the nearby St. Catherine convent, and choosing the best teacher for us. Hossam, our teacher, was enthusiastic, patient, knowledgeable, a clear communicator, and an all around nice guy. He had us reading and writing Arabic script by the second day of class! In just 2 weeks we learned more than I thought was possible. We definitely want to go back again and build on this great foundation. We considered some other schools, including in Cairo, but I feel confident that we chose the best one for us. Everyone at Ahlan made us feel comfortable like we were at home, the location is convenient and definitely immerses you in Egyptian culture (shopping, restaurants, etc.), the weather in Alexandria is much more pleasant than in Cairo, and the Mediterranean Sea is beautiful. I can highly recommend Ahlan to anyone wishing to spend some time in Egypt learning Arabic. Can't wait to go again!

Friendly staff, great teaching, beautiful city! I studied both MSA and the Egyptian dialect and during two months my breadth of vocabulary expanded drastically; at the end of the two months I was able to comfortably understand about 80% of my conversations with the locals and thanks to Egyptian amiyya being one of the most widely understood dialects, I can now converse with Arabic speakers from across the Arab world. I studied Media Arabic as well and can now understand news articles which cover trials, elections and war. If you want to immerse yourself in Egyptian culture whilst learning one of the most sought after languages then Ahlan Alexandria is for you!

This is a great school. Professionally run, with top quality instructors and staff. I highly recommend them for Arabic instruction and study; we are happy we worked with them, and plan to continue doing so! Edit: I should add that, as an adult, I enjoyed it and learned a lot. But my 9 year old son REALLY benefited. He loved learning with his teacher, and they will continue to work together via zoom this winter.

I enrolled an intensive Egyptian language course for 2 months by doing 3 hours of lessons everyday. It was a crucial starting point in order to learn Egyptian and I enjoyed my time at Ahlan a lot. I fully recommend this place for everybody who wants to start learning Arabic or Egyptian

I am so happy to have found Ahlan school during my journey in Egypt. I took Egyptian Arabic lesson and after 20 hours I was very comfortable to speak basic things with the locals, I could express myself and make myself understood with the write words and phrase structure. After, I renewed my course and my reading and writing improved a lot. I was very scared to learn Arabic before coming to Egypt because it seemed like a difficult language to me but thanks to my teacher Asmaa for making it seem so easy to understand and accessible. Also a big thanks to Amira for advising me for the most convenient courses and thanks to Manar for all the activities held by the school and the whole staff too. This school is a gem, I really recommend it to anyone wanting to learn Arabic by being stimulated and surrounded by a solid program and teachers.

A great place: very competent and committed teachers, familiar atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff. It's a small school in an old downtown building, perfect location with corniche, popular cafés and a big choice of accomodation near by. I prefer Alex to study arabic, it's more relaxed than cairo and much better air...

Ahlan is a place where you can always feel at home. Learning Arabic at Ahlan was one of the best choice. I highly recommend this experience.

I have been learning Arabic at Ahlan in Alexandria part-time for 4 years; typically two 2-hour lessons per week. During COVID, I was able to take class through Zoom calls, where my teacher Mahasen is very proficient at using Zoom. Now that schools are open again, foreign students have returned to Ahlan in increasing numbers. There are really some superb Arabic teachers here. (Mahasen, for example) All teachers In general are very well-educated, very patient with their students. Most students choose either one-on-one sessions, or very small class sizes - typically 2-3 students. It's all quite affordable. Also, the administrators are very good with students and overall the atmosphere in Ahlan is quite friendly and warm. Nice mix of students and teachers make the experience quite positive.

A friend and I enrolled in Ahlan for 4 weeks, and we truly had a wonderful time. Our teachers, Hussan and Hossam were so patient and attentive, and are clearly passionate about teaching. Each class we built on our foundation of vocabulary by following an interesting story in the textbook, supported by further conversation around cultural topics and grammar. By the end of the sessions, we learnt practical and useful phrases and vocabulary, which was extremely satisfying to use in practice on day trips to Kom al Shuqaffa, Pompey's Pillar, and the Main Suuq Area. We also met a lovely group of Norwegian students through the cooking class which Ahlan organised, which further assisted our Arabic learning, as we spoke in Arabic with fellow students. I can't recommend Ahlan Alexandria enough. We returned to England totally inspired to learn Arabic, and we are planning to return next summer. Alexandria is a wonderful city to immerse yourself into Egyptian culture. There are plenty of cultural activities to do, lots of historical places to visit (our favourites being Kom al Shuqaffa, and the Royal Jewellery Museum), and a beautiful beach to enjoy on the weekend. Thank you so much again for such a splendid experience, you really made our trip unforgettable!

My experience with Ahlan has been splendid. Not only I have learned a great deal of Fusha and Egyptian Arabic at the hands of highly qualified teachers, but also it gave me the chance to gain first-hand experience in the streets of Alexandria and the opportunity to meet new people and be part of a big family within Ahlan School that has supported and accompanied me every step of this journey. Very nice place and very friendly staff! Everything was easy, from the first contact by e-mail to my arriving at the school. They also recommend you places to sleep in the city, which makes your arriving way easier. The teacher I had was here to answer my questions anytime. Do not hesitate to specify exactly what you need to learn.

I highly recommend Arabic language learning program at Ahlan, Alexandria. Loved the time in Alexandria and learnt Arabic (MSA) from the best. My teachers استاز Hasan and استاز Adil were very knowledgeable , kind , friendly and patient in explaining all the basics, grammar and parts of speech. they helped me tremendously in honing my basics. All staff members are very friendly . Though I was there for just 4 weeks I learnt a lot , if anyone considering learning Arabic , should definitely consider Ahlan, Alexandria. The cost of living and tuition is very reasonable. All the best!

Learning Arabic was my goal since many years, yet it seemed almost impossible until I made a decision to travel to Egypt for a few months. Lessons in Ahlan with my teacher Asmaa made me realize that it's actually possible and at the same time I really enjoyed that time and felt really proud that I was able to communicate during my stay in Egypt while travelling and during everyday life. Ahlan Egypt is really great for learning Modern Standard Arabic and Egyptian Arabic, and we really enjoy the atmosphere in Alexandria. Teachers here are all really kind and good at teaching. I really recommend learning Arabic at Ahlan Egypt, you can really learn a lot here.

A wonderful experience at Ahlan school! I've already planned to come back, on September, to keep studying in that school. The director is really attentive, friendly and understanding. The teachers were very interesting. I'll never forget about them. I haven't seen the days gone by. I hope to have news classes, with the same teachers. Each with different methods of learning but both interesting. I recommend this establishment, to become more easily immersed in the Arabic language.

My experience at Ahlan Alexandria was excellent! I learnt so much in both modern standard arabic and spoken Arabic from my teachers Hassan and Hosseim. They, and the rest of the personnel, were very helpful, welcoming and knowledgeable. I felt like they really went out of their way, not only to teach Arabic, but also to show students Egyptian culture, through music, food, movies, History etc... I especially appreciated how much of an effort the teachers made to adapt to students needs and interests. Thank you!
