Interesting Indian food restaurant. Facing a nice fountain, with esplanade too, this restaurant was a good experience. The food is authentic, delicious and the variety of choices is bast and good. Service is efficient and the food quality and portion is good.

My top favourite Indian restaurant in lisbon city. Taste wise 10/10 , ambience is also excellent, I really liked their outdoor sitting arrangement. Location wise also easy to access. Friendly staff. Must visit. I wish we could give reviews again, but because we cannot that why I am sharing my experience once again So today I visited again and unfortunately the service wasn’t good at all, may be because there were fully booked or whatsoever reason but I wasn’t attended properly. For example, first I was given a table for four that too under the sun in this hot weather and I was asked to finish my meal quickly as they had other guests coming. Secondly, my paneer tikka masala was nothing but just some raw tomato extremly salted sauce with yellow color paneer pieces, in my life I never eaten such kind of paneer tikka masala. Thirdly, my salted lassi was just a thick yogurt with pinch of salt on top that too not even mixed so my first sip I almost had my mouth full of salted yogurt. Fourth, the chapati was kinda hard and barely warm and I just ate one out of 2. Normally they always bring complimentary rice with whatever curry we order but today she service lady asked me separately if I want rice as well. I mean I didn’t understand, usually they bring automatically so why was she asking me only. During billing time as well, they didn’t bother to say a proper goodbye. May be their restaurant is running well that why they don’t feel like giving full attention to single customers or I don’t know why. I wasn’t happy with my today’s visit and Usually this is one of my favourite Indian cuisine restaurants in Lisbon but let’s see when will I visit again.

Would recommend this restaurant for a nice date night or business dinner. Dishes were all visually appealing and with care taken in meat preparation and butchering. Waitstaff were friendly and helpful. Dining environment and music was pleasant. We were very pleased with flavors and presentation of our meals. Restaurant is a bit pricier and portions are smaller than other similar restaurants in the neighborhood, but no complaints about the quality or service.

Tried out this Indian restaurant in Saldanha area. The shop is located strategically and quite eye catching. Went there on a sunday dinner and it was quite packed by locals & tourists. They also have seating areas both indoor & outdoor. For dinner tried out the garlic naan and prawn curry. The garlic naan was done well, it has a nice buttery aroma & taste but can amped up more on the garlic. The prawn curry for me is similar to the prawn masala i normally get back home. And it was delicious just as expected!! The prawns are a lot and easily shareable. It also comes with a side of steamed rice. For the dessert, got the pistachio kulfi. It was a bit mild on the pistachio taste but overall ok. For the drink, of course mango lassi is a must. It taste fresh & creamy.

Super friendly owner and staff, very attentive. The food was also great and there was a lot of variety. Would return and absolutely recommend a visit, especially if you're looking for halal food in Lisbon.

Nice atmosphere but the food we tried was average. The vegatable pakora was super oily and crumbly. The naan bread was good. The Thali set was underwhelming- the butter chicken was lacking in taste, but to their credit, they used a tandoori chicken. We were supposed to get a prawn curry (says in the menu) but got a vegetable curry instead. It was nice though but we expected prawns. The lentil dish was ok. Overall a pass but will try other Indian restaurants in the area next time.

Good experience and very good welcome. The staff is kind and we could feel the passion from them when they were explaining us how to taste the different dishes, how to fully experience the flavors. We had a nice time in this restaurant.

Halal place to have indian food. Chicken tikka masala was too good. Nan/Roti prices are on higher side. Rest all good.

Best halal food place in Lisbon. At least somewhere near the standards of London. 4/5. The chicken tikka masala wasn’t up to standard but the rest of the food was great. Staff was were great.

We had lunch at Zaafran. The food was really delicious and freshly made. The naan was absolutely amazing. I was so disappointed as there was no Ras Malai but the mango kulfi was delicious 😋 We will definitely go back to Zaafran the next time we go to Lisbon.

Actual home made food made by an Indian Chef from India 🇮🇳 😋... I live with Indians! Obviously restaurant food is never the same as traditional food from India... BUT THIS PLACE IS! You will not be disappointed... order off the menu 😋

I highly recommend this restaurant. We had lamb and chicken curries. Both dishes were delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. The owner was very welcoming, going around each table and having a friendly chat with customers. I Really enjoyed my dinner and I would come back again when I visit Lisbon in the near future.

The samosa was very small, as was the naan. I’d expected more for the price. Chicken tikka masala was incredibly unflavored. Daal was better, but not amazing so that it made up for the chicken. Atleast the rice was free, but would recommend taking your money elsewhere.

Ask for the menu de degustação where you can find 5 different mini plates. Ideal for indian food introduction. The atmosphere is not the typical Indian resturante, it's more upscale.

cheese and garlic bread is really good. the bread is thin, the garlic flavor is not too strong. i liked the shrimp, the chicken and the brown one with bean curd in it. i also had their lassi. it was my second time coming here, missed the bread and the lassi.

If I could I would give this place 0 star they advertise on there menu that the individual thali plate comes with 2 meat side but it doesn’t only come with chicken I ask the server and he makes excuses doesn’t want to even help me. No wonder why there is no business. There was no one there when I came. To the owner if you want to make a good business you have to deliver good customer service you wouldn’t survive if this was America. Don’t be cheap on the food portion either I ate all around Lisbon and this is the one place that didn’t meet expectations.

The best Indian restaurant I have ever tried ! Family owned and home made food (halal meat and vegetarian options). The owners are the sweetest and make it a point to connect with their customers. I highly recommend this place you won’t regret it !

Fantastic dining experience! This family-run restaurant made everyone feel welcome. The owner and his wife, as well as their staff, were attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes being served. As we chatted with the owner, he advised us on how to add the spicy sauces to our dishes. Every dish was cooked perfectly. The meats were tender and flavorful. I highly recommend eating at Zaafran for amazing food from India.
