A wonderful buffet! Flavorful! Will return when I'm back in this area. The owner was very hospitable -- she even fixed us bread without butter when she found out we were eating plant-based.

The service was very friendly. It seemed like the same lady cooking the food was also the host, the server and the manager. I liked the atmosphere when I picked the food. Cool vintage style Indian restaurant. The food was decent. I Bhindi Masala was incredible, the naan was incredible. The korma, paneer and kofta were all slightly above average. It was good but very salty and a little more oily than I’m used too. It definitely had home cooked vibes. I felt like my mom made the meal. My 1 year old daughter ate so much she fell asleep. So there’s lots of things I liked about the experience and there’s not a lot of options for Indian food in the area so I definitely recommend popping by. Price was reasonable as well.

I stumbled across this restaurant while in town for the night for work. So glad I did! Felt totally comfortable and welcome as a lone diner, asked for a recommendation between two dishes and was not disappointed. I've eaten quite a bit of Indian food and this ranked among the top. Especially the garlic naan hot from the stove. Yum! Great value for the amount of food you receive as well. I easily have enough leftovers for 2 more meals!

Stopped in to get an early (5pm) vegetarian meal, and got way more. I started with the veggie samosa, which were great. I moved on to the Gobi Makhani (spicy), and was not disappointed. I also ordered the lemon chutney, which was fresh. It was bright and a little sour, and I loved it. I then asked for mango chutney to try and it was smooth and sweet. I was really impressed with the food, and the stories about how they use traditional family recipes. If you like Indian food, and are in Cookeville, you should eat here! I'm impressed, and I'm glad to share my experience with everyone!

What a hidden gem. The food is amazing we ordered Palak aloo, black bean soup, papad, naan, Gobi Manchurian and vegetable Manchurian. The service is impeccable the owner mama went through the whole menu with us and told us that she would make whatever we wanted vegan and boy what a surprise she whip up for us. The place feel like home and the staff is very welcoming. I will definitely be back when in the area.

We were thrilled to find this restaurant not too far from our new home. The lunch buffet was amazing and the owner was a wonderful cook and hostess!

The food is always good spicy and no spice both. My partner is a vegetarian and I don't eat a ton of meat so the amount of options here is very nice change of pace. The service has been amazing every time. I feel like it's the type of place that she'd remember your regular after a few times as she always engages in conversation. The younger worker is quick to jump in and help, very nice small business.

Great food!! The spicy levels are on point whether you want extra spicy or mild, the range is there. Halal food as well. Very nice lady who owns the restaurant. Can't wait to try out the lunch buffet. Please support India palace (women owned and managed)

Hmm. Hate to do this but I must say that this was probably the worst Indian food I've ever eaten. I don't get all the positive reviews. 🤔My chicken dish was the color of a stop sign. The chicken pieces were cubed and a weird consistency. It just wasn't good. Totally inedible. The place itself is filthy too. Grime everywhere. They really need to clean. What a disappointment.....I'd pass on this one.

Very, very good Indian food. We came by for the lunch buffet- the saag, Chana, and vegetable korma were the standout dishes. Better than 90% of the Indian places in Nashville.

Good place for Indian food. Just a heads up for everyone coming to the buffet for the first time, come in and pretty much seat yourself, get a plate and eat, when you ready to leave dont wait for someone to bring you a bill. Go up to the front and pay. They won't bring you the check so you'll be waiting for a long time lol. This tends to be how most smaller family ran Indian restaurants are operated, hope this helps!

It's basically one woman who runs the whole restaurant (waitstaff, cook, and cashier), but the food she makes in phenomenal! We loved the lamb shahi kofta curry, especially. The chef's secret sauce was perfect. We ordered everything medium spice and it was still fairly mild for our taste (even might have expected it to be a little spicier).

The food was excellent. The little lady cooked waited and checked us out. She was extremely humbled to have us eat there. Her son that sits on his computer should get up and help but she does fantastic on her own. We will be back for sure.

A wonderful place to have dinner. This gem is easily overlooked. We eat here frequently and have never had a bad experience. In fact, this is one of the few places in town that does not upset my stomach. The owner has a keen sense of humor, which always makes things entertaining. Take out is also always hot and tasty.

Strange smell like old building but not sure why people say it’s nasty or dirty place is clean and all nice and set up

Loved this place! Lovely ambiance and the food was delicious - she prepared it for us with our special needs (no garlic, no onion). Such love and care she put into the food!

My husband and I went for one of our date nights. It was such a wonderful experience! The owner was so kind and friendly, the restaurant was beautiful, and the food was delicious! Everything was made to our liking. We will definitely be back.

A hidden gem!! I love Indian cuisine, and have favorite Indian restaurants across the state of TN. This has quickly become a favorite! The food is seasoned to perfection...so warm and comforting. I highly recommend visiting during their lunch buffet hours so you can sample many dishes. It is clean and the service is great! Honestly, I feel like I've visited my favorite Indian Auntie's house...but I'm not Indian.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Cookeville. Food is superb, and the staff are the nicest folks you can find. On our last visit, when I told them we now live in Georgia, they invited me to sample some of the dishes that I had never tried. They go above and beyond, and we always stop by whenever we are passing through. Excellent food and great people!

I live an hour and a half away from Cookeville Tennessee. When I do travel to Cookeville certainly make a point to eat at the India Palace restuarant. The owner does most all the cooking herself. The cuisine is more of the Punjabi style of Indian food. I love the food it is always incredible. She always makes sure that you have plenty of naan. It is buffet. I have never ordered anything from a menu. The price is very reasonable it was $15 for all you could eat. I lived in India some years back and have traveled back and forth several times. So I am always looking for any place with great Indian food. Sometimes I make the drive just for lunch.. you definitely will not regret making the stock to have a meal here.

Mrs. Dogra is awesome! We have eaten there regularly for over 11 years. She went above and beyond in preparing enough food for 120 people for our daughters wedding. The food is delicious! Many people at the wedding had never eaten Indian Cuisine and now are big fans! I'd highly recommend her restaurant!
