A beautiful cathedral. We visited on a Sunday morning for their 11:30am service and it was lovely with the organ playing in the background. The service was in Spanish but that was fine. A must-visit while in Almeria.

Really good, the building is unusual because of its roll as a defensive structure. The decoration is of course fantastic and the interpretation on the listening guide thing was very informative, there were so many words I didn't know or couldn't pronounce that were put into context. So I learned some stuff my favourite was the hairy baby with the weird eyes in the painting of St Anthony of Padua... Or was the weird baby the big A himself?

Really beautiful and awesome inspiring, great tour with hand held device. Delightful and really helpful lady on the desk inside. Beware the independent tour guide, who physically grabbed me to make up the numbers to join her tour!

Well worth a visit. Lots of interesting facts. Price includes an audio guide. An option is to also pay extra to have the nearby monastery included. Note they shut between 14:00 and 16:00.

We had the chance to just get our guide Marcos to explain the symbolism of the cathedral, its history and architecture and I cannot recommend it enough. Make sure you get a hold of him if you are in town

There are far more interesting cathedrals than this. Nothing unique or unusual to see. The audio guide was tedious and read by someone who didn't understand what he was talking about.

Very big and very nice inside. Went here during the Santa semana so they had people singing inside and large parades at night.

I did the tour. It costs 4€. The building and inner works are beautiful. I recommend it if you have the time to look for yourself :)

Unfortunately it was closed, but it is located in a very nice plaza, and the building is itself a beauty.

Incredibly beautiful Cathedral in the historic heart of Almería. Tickets are very cheap, (under €10) and gets you access to the whole cathedral, an excellent audio guide in tons of languages that tells the story of the cathedral, as well as gives detailed descriptions of the artwork and objects you can see in the church (I used English and Spanish for the audio guide, and both were great!) and two annex exhibits of catholic vestments and liturgical objects. The staff is friendly and helpful, and are happy to answer questions at the beginning or end of the visit. No photos allowed inside (it is an operating church and place of worship) but definitely worth a visit!

Although I have been to many cathedrals across Europe and there are more interesting and decorative cathedral, what stood out for me was the fact that it was a fortified church.

The self tour with ear phones was excellent. Beautiful cathedral. I also went to mass there at another time. The kneeler are just hatd timber - needs cushion. We'll worth a visit.

Well kept and a beautiful building. Might nit expect it in Almeria but this is just one of the impressive sights to see.

Stunning place, and really interesting story behind the architectural history of the building. Electronic guides in multiple languages, they do go on a bit, but are informative.

Loved it the architecture and paintings are lovely with a real sense of peace, mind the electric candles if you put too much money in they all light up I prayed for everyone. Very friendly helpful staff.

Well worth a visit to better understand the history of the city. Audio guide was fine but could have done with more historical references although I do appreciate that this is very much a religious venue.

Even if you don't get the chance to go in during the day then take a walk around the neighborhood at night. Interesting and seems safe.
