Best mountain biking facility I've been to in Ontario thus far; better than Glen Major (Whitby) and Albion Hills, for example. The primary reason is how well marked the trails are and the consistent use of the colour code circle with an arrow. You never have to stop to figure out what direction to go. The trails are in great shape with the right amount of technical bits. I did the "Green C" route which takes you through the "Hogs Back" section. I did a bit of pushing here. I'd do this section again but instead take the Yellow "bypass". Also did the more compact Red route which is a better introduction. They have printed maps at the kiosk which is also a big plus. Great job County of Northumberland. Looking forward to next outing. PS if you are hungry after biking check out Yorkies BBQ on 45 just before the 401... quality eats and inexpensive.

Northumberland forest just north of Cobourg in Northumberland County is a gem for those of us who live in the area. A great place to hike, ski or bike. Open all year round. Skiing only from Dec. 1 to March 31 (as long as there is enough snow).

Great forest trails, various paths and lengths and diverse terrain as well, depending on the trail. I do the Red trail 3-4 times a week (2.6km) and it takes me about half an hour. Green Trail C is good if you want a longer trek with a very steep hill near the end. Love this place 👍

5 stars for hiking, just 3 to 4 for cross country skiing. Lots of variety in the trails. They are reserved for skiing between December and March. The skiing can be good but the trails are not groomed and not all users respect the winter restrictions. This year the trails will be closed during the week for logging. 2023 UPDATE - the trails are in great condition for skiing as of Jan. 26. The county has worked hard over the last 3 years to keep hikers and dog walkers off these trails in the winter. As a result, the tracks are staying in good condition much longer after each snowfall.

Fresh snow on the trail, which made it slippery at times. Always a good 6 km hike

We drove up from Durham to find snow and were very happy that the forest still had plenty for a spring like ski in January. Really well marked trails. Always a great time.

Went for a mountain bike ride here, really nice area and can choose a variety of trail lengths and difficulties. There is also a flat gravel path that appears to be accessibility-friendly. Views through the forest are beautiful.

Lots of parking available. Nice well taken care of trails. More flow trails than tech. Very fun to get a good ride in! Met some friends people here as well. Definitely recommend
