Alpine resort has been my family’s vacation destination for 4 decades. Generations of kids have becomes adults only to raise their young ones - one week each year - at Alpine Resort on Rice Lake. It has everything we need in terms of nature: we have access to the lake where we fish, swim, paddle board, swim and more. I also find the trees and large green space to be a soothing refresher from my city life. You can’t see stars like these in the city! New management is improving everything from the store’s makeover into a hangout spot, to daily activities (especially suited to kids). I would recommend Alpine Resort to anyone I know and I know we’ll be back!

Our family has been coming to alpine resort for over 30 years. The cottages are quaint and have most of your needs for a great week. The website tells you all that you need to bring and what to expect while you are here. The lake is great for fishing, swimming, tubing, canoeing, paddle boarding or relaxing in the sun. There are plenty of activities for kids to do, such as swim in the pool, play at the playground, on the basketball or volleyball court. One of many activities arranged by the resort such as bingo, the fishing derby or the balloon toss. Nights can be spent under the beautiful sky by the campfire. The resort changed ownership about 2 years ago. We wondered what a week at alpine would be like without Jodi, Anita, Mike and Fred the previous owners. To our wonderment we met Leigh and Rob who make your stay at alpine feel like home. Always responsive, polite, helpful and their efforts to make sure your stay is great have never gone unnoticed. This resort couldn’t run without Leigh or her husband Rob. They both are gems!

Lovely, quiet resort with books, games, a clean swimming pool and docks...only cons were no wifi except at store, and trees not trimmed so little view of water unless you head down. Very friendly, hard-working staff.

We love coming to alpine. They have a great setup for families. The cottages are clean and well-appointed. We will be back.

We came 3 years in a row, everything was not bad, there were cotton sheets, there were individual fishing decks for each house…. On the main deck, we were afraid to fall into the lake, because it shakes a lot when walking ... This season we are disappointed with the service ... No more own decks, no bench by the lake. Last summer we could just sit by the lake and enjoy nature. The pool was not full, our family was disappointed.

We have just came back from the family vacation at Alpine Resort. What an amazing experience. Wonderful week The are great staff . The views are amazing. Very friendly warm atmosphere lots to do.The teenagers had a great time as well! Highly recommend

I had a change in my schedule for the Labor Day weekend and had a nice long weekend, decided to make the most of it to see if I could get a cottage. After calling about 20 places, I finally found Alpine with availability. After some back and forth with emails and phone calls with my family was able to get a reservation. The weather was absolutely perfect, the individual firepits for each cottage was a great bonus as I had gotten used to communal firepits at other rentals. It was really nice to have our own firepit. The lake was ice cold, it was a nice wake up swim in the morning. Since I have been to other rentals, I was expecting something rustic, but instead I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and groomed everything was. Everyone in our party was pleased at the cleanliness of the place and could not stop talking about it. Thank you everyone at Alpine for a great weekend. I can say without a doubt it was absolutely worth it and I will be going back there as soon as I have more time and there is availability.
