The staff at this pub go above and beyond for their customers...after my Aunt fell ill whilst dining there the staff were absolutely amazing!! They came over to check what was happening and immediately knew it was serious and the lovely waitress called an ambulance for us on her mobile while another lady came from the kitchen to see if they could help and administer first aid. As I spoke to the ambulance service they both comforted my Mum who was in shock and extremely upset as my aunt appeared gravely ill..they 2 stayed with us as my Aunt eventually came to, and never left her side until the paramedics arrived. I cannot thank them and the rest of the staff for the care shown to us that evening and for the rest of our stay as we were in the Premier Inn next door. When my aunt left hospital the next afternoon and went back to the pub the waitress from the night before gave my Aunt a huge hug and said how glad they were to see her looking so much better..also the lady from the kitchen came out and had a chat and was also glad to see her. The kindness shown from these lovely people was astonishing as they genuinely cared. It wasn't just part of their job. The atmosphere in the pub is fantastic and staff cannot do enough for you in general when dining there. The food is excellent. Service quick and efficient. The outstanding team who work there create a feeling of warmth and kindness. I can never thank them enough for helping us and showing the care and generosity that they did. We will definitely be back when on our next road trip.

Was at bar requesting food whilst checking menu and waitress tells me I need to rush and hurry and I am wasting her time. She tried to go to another customer to serve them whilst I was stood there waiting. Then when our meal came we asked for some ketchup and and the waitress rudely sighed and said if we want one to go inside and get it ourself, the woman on bar was called Toni and was so rude.

Been to this restaurant several times, pre-covid and during. Always found the staff to welcoming and friendly. Mainly been for the breakfast which is a hot breakfast where you choose how much of each item. Food has always been great. Would recommend!

Visited here last week with my family. Tables and cutlery were dirty. Food wasn't worth the money. Waitresses seemed rushed off their feet doing 10 jobs at once, wasn't busy but you could tell they were short staffed. I ordered a chicken burger but got a chicken strip burger, at £10 for my meal I expected more. The whole place needs a deep clean.

Very poor customer service with the floor waitress/manager being the saddest, rudest, disgusting and most racist person we've ever met. Arrived there for the first time with 3 children and waited at the entrance for over 15 mins to be checked in but no one came . So we walked inside found a table and the waiter told us they were fully booked and all the other empty tables were reserved. We felt so embarrassed and the children felt so disappointed. As we were about to leave a wonderful lady and her beautiful daughter asked us to join them on their table. I just want to thank them for being so kind to us. Good people like you are God’s reminder that there are angels who walk this earth. Thank you so much for the incredible kindness that you have shown us on Sunday. We will never forget . Please continue to inspire many people with your kindness, compassion, and generosity. The world needs more people like you! Meanwhile the whole time we were there until we left none of those so called reserved tables were occupied this showed us that we were not welcome at the brewers fayre.

Rubbish service...rubbish food...never again...1st review.. 2nd review... I actually came again...wow...nothing has changed. The soup was similar to a tinned soup...this time opted for the Sunday beef lunch..looked like it came straight out the microwave. Didn't eat a thing. Waste of bloody money. Kids burger was well over cooked and he also refused to eat. The staff saw we didn't eat the food but still cleared up the plates and took payment in full without questioning why we hadn't eaten.. jokers in this place..staff too busy chatting about their breaks and Instagram

Stayed at the Premier Inn nearby and took the meal deal option. The service at the evening meal was dreadful even though it was virtually empty, after 30 minutes of being shown to my table I gave up and went to the bar to get a drink and order food. The main meal was just about ok when it arrived but after 20 minutes of finishing it I had to go tracking down a member of staff to ask about my desert and was told they'd forgotten about me, not sure how as I was sat by a table in clear view of half a dozen or so staff that were wandering around that would've saw I had finished my meal. Breakfast wasn't any better, although there was a huge improvement in the service , the food was poor. The waitress took my order for the freshly cooked breakfast, I went for poached eggs and two bacon, the eggs were OK the bacon was inedible, it was so dry I couldn't cut it, it was easier to snap it in pieces so I never ate the bacon, it had probably been cooked long before and kept under heat to keep warm , it certainty wasn't freshly cooked. If I'd had more time I would've sent it back but I had to get to work so simply left it. If I have to stay there again I'll be stopping off at a supermarket and getting a sandwich on the way in.

Turned up for an evening meal which was reserved for 4 people but had to wait for a while at the front door while they prepared the table before we were seated. Ordered drinks at the bar to find out one of the ales was not on despite not having a sign saying so. Then ordered food to then find out their chicken winner dinner was unavailable yet the menu said otherwise, while 2 of us had finished our meal of fish and chips before a re-ordered meal was finally ready for the other 2. There was no coffee available either! This place has gone downhill in terms of organisation, which is a pity as we have eaten there before many times but this will be our last I'm afraid. Also, tables were left with uncollected plates and no one asking if everything was satisfactory (the usual standard customer service you'd expect in any restaurant.) On the only plus side was that the staff were friendly and the food was delicious.

My wife and I popped in on the way back from a teaching job she had done nearby, we had spotted the two meals for 8.99 offer and thought we would give it a try. We had fish chips and mushy peas, we didn't have high expectations at the price but we received a beautiful piece of crispy battered fish, lovely skin on fries and perfect mushy peas accompanied by tartare sauce and sliced lemon,it was absolutely delicious. The waiting staff were lovely, even the jug of tap water had Ice lemon and lime. Well done Mersey Farm, we will definitely be back and will recommend you to family and friends.

Very popular place. Food is good and reasonably price. Very pleasant friendly staff. We were there for a reunion and the weather was unpredictable so they had sectioned an area off for us. Only complaint no cask ales, not even any bottled substitutes.

Starting to get a little tired now. Could do with a refurb, (only my opinion) The menu is varied and the food is cooked to a good standard. The table service is good. They've got the balance of being attentive, but not intrusive just right.

Very poor visit. Arrived on time after booking and reserving a table online. No confirmation of the booking had made it to the site - we were then questioned by the hostess that we had even made a booking and asked for proof - 2/3 of the tables were empty and free so a party of 2 adults was not going to be an issue. Hostess showed us to a table and before we even sat down we're were told we needed to be out by 6pm. We arrived at 2:15pm. We were never going to be there that long. Instead of sitting us at one of the empty tables we were sat in an alcove with a childrens party. So we were intruding on their private function and were were surrounded by children running around. Not exactly a quite spot of lunch. We did ask to be moved but were told the rest of the place was closed. We ordered our food at the bar - the drinks were awful I had to ask twice to top my pint up because the head was too big. Food arrived quick enough but it was awful - 2 side orders never arrived, burger bun was crispy and stale, fish was rubbery and greasy (cooked and reheated). Waitress never asked if we wanted condiments or sauces. No one came to check if we were happy after 15mins. We left the food and walked out. Very very poor, wont go back again. Been there a few times over the years - even had Christmas dinner there once. Not sure if under new management or just having a bad day but the experiance was awful.

Came back after a year ordered chicken winner dinner should of came with roast potatoes, it came with deep fried new potatoes that were terrible complained to the waitress she went to the chef came back ten minutes later and said they had ran out no apology. The wife's meal was a bit dry the steak in edible more sinue than meat if I could give zero I would I'm still on table 41 finishing our drinks.

We visited this establishment with a couple of friends from Urmston. It was our first time there and I must say, I was very impressed with the whole evening. The bar staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and very well mannered. The drinks service was quick and prompt, as was the food service. There wasn't a long wait despite it being pretty busy and our food was brought piping hot to the table by waiting staff with equally excellent service, manners and attitude. One particular member of staff stood out. A charming lady by the name of Rachael who couldn't do enough for us. It made the whole night very enjoyable and I would recommend this place to anybody. We will definitely be going there again. Sooner rather than later I hope.

We were staying at the Premier Inn next door and arranged a lunchtime wake following the funeral for our son. The food was excellent and all the staff were extremely considerate and worked hard to make sure everything ran smoothly. The manager is Selena but we dealt with Kelly and she went above and beyond, even coming in on her day off to make sure everything ran smoothly. Couldn't have asked for better.

Kids enjoyed the play area, I think perhaps the staff could do with a bit of training as service was just a little strange. I think I've just got used to great service in local restaurants recently so this place stands out. I've nothing against the place and will probably go again, just will lower my expectations a bit.

The service was very slow first 2 meals arrived then it was another 15 minutes before any more came out. Food looked like it had been thrown together children's pizza was dry and inedible, staff spent more time on their phones and chatting to each other. Nice lad behind the bar very attentive and polite prompt service, poor manger seemed run off her feet and flustered. Won't be returning in a hurry.

Beautifully clean room, great bed and extra pillows too! Premier Inns are a great way of having an affordable weekend away. Their rooms are spotlessly clean, brilliant idea to put a pub next door, with great food on offer at reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly, helpful and are extremely happy to share their local knowledge of the area. Have a great stay, we did!

Plenty of vegetarian option and a few vegan option, more than average. Kids menu was quite comprehensive. Soft play area was quite good and safe although crowded. Wouldn't mind seeing some healthy options in the menu. Particularly vegetarian and vegan. Look at Weatherspoons for inspiration.

I regularly meet up with friends here for breakfast. It is an all you can eat breakfast with the option of just continental or with cooked breakfast. Everything on the cooked breakfast is made to order. There is a selection of pastries and breads, fruit and cereal. All with the added bonus of 2 kids eat free per adult. The staff here are always so nice and accommodating, to the point I don’t need to order my coffee anymore they just bring it through. The staff always give a very personal experience for a busy venue. They are a credit to Mersey farm.

We stayed at the Premier Inn next door so had meals here, I think they were short of staff as lunch took a while to come, was only warm and one meal out of 5 didn't come, waited another 15 minutes. Evening meal booked for 10, again not hot and one of the deserts didn't come, waited 15 minutes. Breakfast next morning was OK. Did find a 40% off main meals voucher for the evening meal.

I've not been here in a while, 3 years Food was scrumptious. Hot and delivered promptly with polite service. Found the decor, fresh, spacious, and comfortable. It has been redesigned to cater for all, cozy, and intimate areas and spacious areas to partake in merriment.

Our group was booked about 3 weeks ago for 4pm today. They were terribly short staffed. The last desserts were served at 7.15pm, after a lot of requests to speed things up. Some of the young people got their starters after they were served their main meal. The food we were served was OK, but half the food requested was not available. So yes, quite a few orders needed changing last minute. Generally, the food that was available wasn't bad, but slow and confused serving, short staffed, and the long wait was tough in the small children with us. It was busy, but not overly so.

Virgin stay at the Premier Inn next door and standards were high. The receptionist was not only super swift which is what we all want; euroirish accent and super easy on the eye. My work mobile failed to cancel my programmed room key en route to the room which is a rareity. I also found a space to park straight away in the car park AND the room was cleaner than a CSI cleanup. The chicken goujons starter were more scarce than a werewolf in London, however, that was more my bad as there was a sign stating there were none left. Included are the before and after pics of said meal as 2 pictures paint the equivalent 500 words based on the saying that a picture paints 1000 words. Barstaff were super lovely and made some excellent drinks, even if Xmas is 5 months away 😉

A two night stay, Tuesday - Thursday, at the adjacent premier inn, the Wednesday breakfast was passable at best, Thursday morning was atrocious at best, firstly no orange juice, a breakfast staple in my eyes, same as the previous day my scrambled eggs, sausage and mushroom eventually got delivered to the table, here enters the word atrocious, how is it possible to serve under cooked yet BURNT mushrooms (see pics). We also decided on a quick evening meal on Wednesday, bad decision, everywhere and I mean everywhere was sticky, the bar top, table and even the menus, the order was placed, Scampi chips and peas twice this was after showing the bar staff what I wanted on the menu, because she didn't understand, eventually out came two plates of Haddock chips and peas, back up to the counter to explain that the brain dead serving staff had got it wrong with apologies and promises they would sort it out I returned to the table out came the food plates, one of Scampi chips and peas one of Haddock chips and peas, eventually we did manage to eat with the thought never again.

Although this place is large, it was very quiet during the school holidays. There is a ball pit play area seating next to it. So you can watch while eating if you have children. The food was not great, but I did the job. Standard taste and presentation. If you have a bonus card, you can get 30% off the bill. Staff is not very friendly, no smiles welcoming, or checking on customers to see if everything was OK. Must have been short staffed. The table across from me was left with mountains of dirty dishes and flies gathering because it was left the whole entire time we were having our dinner. It was not busy either. Children in the play area are not watched properly by some parents had to go have a word with one parent because child was being rough and bullying other children.

A VERY big thankyou to the two members of staff who helped us when our grandson was sick at the table. They kept our meals warm, moved us to another table and cleaned up the area refusing our help to do so, and they did all this with cheerful and polite efficiency. They saved our family birthday celebration from being a disaster and allowed us to enjoy our meal. We will certainly be back!

Great value breakfast, especially these days. The price £9.99 includes the buffet, cooked breakfast, juice and hot drinks. The buffet has a good selection and as well as the usual also has crumpets and pancakes) American style). The cooked breakfast ( full veggie) is very generous, had I eaten from the buffet I could not have finished it. I knocked one star off for the coffee which is not good. Cappuccino etc from the machine is weak and a bit tasteless. The filter coffee on the buffet is stale and stewed. A lot of hotels do this, brew a big batch of coffee then leave it to stew on the heat, just makes it bitter foul. You wouldn't do that with tea , one big pot for the breakfast service so why do it with coffee? Service is friendly and quite efficient seeing as it can be busy. Have had breakfast twice and will return despite the coffee!

What can I say about the meal I've just had at Mersey Farm: it was fab. Went with family and had the 2 meals for £8.99 - worth every penny. Shout out to 2 members of staff, Regan and Kelly. Very friendly and service was excellent. Definitely will return.

2nd visit this year. Food is good but service on the evening was terrible. Ordered at the bar and main course arrived quickly. Sat for a while, no one came to ask if all was OK, or to clear the plates. Puddings never appeared? Went to bar and was told the pudding hadn't been sent as we didn't tell the staff we had finished our main course? Seriously! It seemed evening staff more interested in chatting to each other. Thankfully, breakfast was a very different experience. Attentive staff and helpful. Food was very good.

I'm here right now, had 30 quid for a voucher, spent 12.99 on main. 6 quid on alcoholic drink and 5 on starter. Went to order pudding an now I owe them money when pudding is under 6 quid. Service to begin was great, lady was pleasant and sat me down. After that I waited 45 minutes before I went to bar and ordered myself, despite everyone around me being served. A joke of a place.

So pleased we did got the lunch specials 2 eggs 3,sausage chips and beans, and fish and chips the fish was about a good size well cooked and batter crisp had caramel apple Betty and custard and chocolate brownie for dessert with unlimited soft drinks bill was just over £20 excluding tips service was great. Cheaper than a takeaway and no washing up.

Very very dissapointing. Extremelt small amounts of food, food looked very tired, the burger buns crumbled in my fingers and weren't fresh. The amount and look of food didn't match the price tag. They also took our order and forgot one meal, had to remind them. Other pubs would give you more for less money for sure! Also service could be better. Would not go back!

Very poor customer service with the floor waitress/manager being the rudest person we've ever met. Arrived for a booked table for a birthday. Untidy and dirty tables and floor. Waiting staff that were nowhere to be seen when needed. Drinks order arrived Served by head waitress/floor manager left on side table on bar tray with different drinks than ordered and was told they didn't have what we had ordered. Didn't know what drinks were what from lager shandy to lager lime etc..had to taste test them ourselves to find out. Meals arrived and as food goes you pay for what you get and was ok. But not enough cutlery given and no steak knives with steak meals. Had to go to main bar to ask for cutlery as asked when all meals were left with nothing to eat them with. Staff did not return with cutlery or condiments for the meals that were asked for when meals were served. So had to go and ask again to wait for them to be given to us. staff never checked after if all was ok, as clearly it was not. Uncleaned baby change table/toilet, with no hand sanitizer in dispenser. Second visit to Mersey farm and was our last, will not be returning.

This is now a Harvesters Restaurant however it falls desperately short of their usual standards. Firstly, the unlimited refills of fizzy drinks was just given as diet coke from the bar, the normal drinks dispenser was broken both days we visited. Other than being a cold drink (ice was given in the glass), there was no taste at all as though it had been watered down. Food definitely overpriced for what was received, but we were advised that as Premier Inn is next door they don't really have to attract custom. Ordered food, was basically bland and very cheap tasting, visited a second time and food just the same. Each main course comes in at around £10. Portion size -Scampi and chips - 5 pieces of tiny scampi and two bits that looked ready for the bin, small portion of chips and a soup spoon worth of mushy peas £9.95. Will not be visiting again.

Just had food here today. It was probably the worst thing I've eaten for a long time. I ordered a chicken burger which consisted of 3 look warm chicken goujons. My daughter had a pasta dish she refused to eat, the place looked untidy and the toilets were not clean. The staff were nice enough.
