Been going to lotus for over 20 years. It’s my favourite Chinese and I haven’t found another takeaway that even comes close to the food at Lotus. I highly recommend giving them a try - you won’t be disappointed.

I had fish and chips fish had no taste chips weren't very good I got nearly all bits very few that you can call chips

I like this place, the lady that runs it is lovely and I'd like to be able to give it a glowing review. Unfortunately I can't. The food is nice, it has real vegetables! The problem I have is that 3 hours after eating here I have a blood sugar of 8.1mmols and my partner (who is diabetic) has a blood sugar reading of 18.1mmols . If you're not aware, 2 hours after eating your blood sugar should have returned to between 4 and 7mmols.. this means that, although the food was tasty, it was absolutely loaded with sugar. I had special chow mein and my partner had Chicken in Black Bean Sauce with plain boiled rice, we both drank water. Neither of these dishes require sugar, it's ridiculous that they do, not all chinese take aways are the same. I hope they read this and take action. Sadly we won't be able to return to Lotus Chinese until they can cure their sugar addiction.
