I'm gluten free (coeliac) and eat here quite often. They're pretty on it with gluten-free practices and I feel safe here unlike in pizza restaurants. My only niggle is that the gluten free pizza is a little small... I'm a hungry boy! Overall staff are super friendly and great. Lovely place

They would not accept an AllForOne card payment even though the card has their logo on it. The manager demanded another form of payment, I think because he couldn't be bothered with it. I refused and he threatened to call the police. I called the police myself and the matter is now resolved.

The quality of the service and food is still great over the year's. Will always return for a tasty pizza. The wine is really good too!!

We visited Pizza Express, Hale, Ashley Rd last Saturday (1st). There were 4 of us and 3 of our party, including my daughter are coeliac, I have allergies too- nuts, tomatoes and milk we are also a mixture of vegetarian and vegan. I hope I have the names correct- Our server Max is outstanding at his job, the service is fantastic here, he went through the menu with us and explained the app to us. Brilliant waiter! The manager, who has recently been promoted, Reser, is an asset to your management team, he went above and beyond ensuring all our food was perfect and all our allergies and intolerances were taken very seriously, he too helped us with the pizza express app, which we appreciated greatly, we had a lovely talk with him about his journey with Pizza Express and how much he enjoys working with his team and for the company, as a customer I felt his love for his job, his care and passion and that shone through to all of us. Thank you. Thank you to the chef, Jee, food outstanding and everything perfectly cooked- nothing was any trouble, it truly is delicious food! Thank you to Freya too, who also looked after us, her menu knowledge and care is phenomenal. We all appreciate how much you all as a team looked after us thank you, we will definitely be returning.

Food was lovely as is always, wasn't extremely busy but had plenty of staff working. Was slight delays but always served politely.

Couldn't hear yourself think from all the kids running riot in there. The table was right by the bathroom, so door was slaming all the time The manager kept asking me to download the app when I said I wasn't interested in downloading it and he asked me 3 times Won't be visiting this restaurant again

Good food and if you've Tesco Club card vouchers the food prices are OK. Bit pricey without.

Went for lunch and great food and atmosphere as usual! The service from Faith was great and Jan and Maci in the kitchen cooked the pizzas perfectly!

The only pizza ‘express’ restaurant to have so few customers in it yet to be so Slow … you can ask for take out in an empty restaurant and the pizzas will take 30 minutes and It’s not a one off it’s consistently this way. I write this while still waiting for my order. Haha! I just hope the head office sees this and sorts out this branch.

We are new to the UK but have found this place to be our pizzeria of choice! Good employees, good food, good atmosphere! A little pricey but it is worth it! Thank you, Pizza Express!

Really enjoyed the polenta chips; light, crispy, with a terrific honey mustard dip. The dough balls are always a favourite. Tried a Pizza Romana for the first time and it was excellent. The children’s menu is excellent value and good choice of dishes. Honeycomb cream slice was a great dessert to finish. Very good service from the lovely staff and and a nice restaurant for a family dinner.

We just had a pizza party for my youngest daughter and couldn’t be happier. The kids had a great time and the staff was truly amazing! Massimo, the Manager and Freya, our party host were fantastic with the kids! Thanks :)

Just picked up a takeaway. It was stone cold at the point of collection in the restaurant (on time - the garlic butter hadn’t melted by the time we got home). We’ve eaten takeaway food away from Pizza Express before and it’s been perfectly acceptable, but we’ve just been served, at over £60, the most outrageously poor pair of pizzas that you could expect to find. Up your game, please…

The food saved the day! Pizza phenomenal but unfortunately the service was so poor, burned calamari served and sent back waited around 40 minutes for our food and generally the service was seriously lacking. This has always been one of the best restaurants in the chain and the pizza always of top quality. But if you're looking for good service well then brace yourselves, you may be disappointed.

Roser was such a great waitress, she looked after us really well and she made sure we had everything we needed. The food was great definitely recommend. Thankyou Roser

A few minor errors (garlic butter when we asked for hummus, normal lemonade instead of the strawberry one I requested and no chocolate sauce on the desert, again as requested). Aside from these (which were so minor I didn't even raise them) we enjoyed the meal today. Lovely to get the crayons and activity pack + paper hat for children. I also agree, the GF base needs to come in a larger size (I could have probably eaten two - they were pretty small in comparison to the non-GF ones). The GF dough balls were lovely. I wanted a GF brownie for pudding; they didn't have any. I therefore opted for GF carrot cake; they didn't have any. I plumped for panna cotta; they didn't have that either. It felt a bit like a comedy sketch at this point. At least I got ice cream. (a bigger portion again would have been nice). I would return and can't grumble, service was pleasant and what we eat was delicious.

Just bought a pizza to pick up, I waited around for 10mins for someone to come to see me because they were all chatting, when i got home which is 2 mins away the pizza is stone cold. Disgusting service and disgusting pizza.

Even though they didn't had the drinks we wanted they where berry attentive and quick to suggest other available options. Great place for a coeliac as they have gluten free bases for most of their pizzas. Not gonna lie, GF pizzas are smaller which is a bit annoying as you pay the same prize for a bigger normal pizza but they are delicious.

You always know what you are going to get at Pizza Express; good pizzas in a lively environment. The pizzas are not earth-shatteringly good ie are not wood fired or the authentic Napoli pizza but are consistent and tasty. The service was slow though

Pizza Express in Hale is a great family restaurant. The food is the same as any Pizza Express (which I like anyway), but in my opinion what distinguishes this restaurant from others across the others country (and I've been to many!) is the customer service. The staff are extremely friendly, efficient and brilliant with kids, especially on birthdays. As a result the restaurant is often full with families and young children creating a vibrant atmosphere. We've been coming here for years, made a number of friends amongst the staff, and never been disappointed with this restaurant. Five stars, no brainer.

We held a pizza-making party for our child. Massimo, Steve and Chef Tom were absolutely wonderful with all the children and grown ups. They were fun and very kind and made it a special day for both children and parents. Thank you so much.
