What you'd expect from a hostel. A bit out of the way and hard to find, rather unfriendly opening hours, so-so furnishings and a modestly varied all-you-can-eat breakfast. As with all hostels, it's worth getting a room to avoid snoring roommates.

The place gives a nice impression at first when you arrive. The main building, the reception and the breakfast area looks nice and friendly. I cannot tell the same about the rooms. Basically you enter into some kind of containers .. you have to prepare your bed yourself. When you want to take a shower you just realize that you have no towels and no soap at all. Those are for additional charge and you can get it at the reception but you are not informed about this at arrival. The whole place has a strange contrast of trying to be environmental friendly but wasting energy at the same time. For example in the toilet the lights switch off automatically after 5 seconds but in the shower (which is a separate tiny little space) the lights are on all night without the possibility to switch it off. The breakfast is ok sometimes and worse another times. I think it depends on how many guests they have. According to my experience when the place is full the breakfast is good but when there are just a couple of guests then you can barely find something on the table and what you find seems to be from yesterday morning. I give it 3 stars just because the price compared to other possibilities nearby but otherwise it is worse.

Not a good experience. Price - quality is not good at all, way to expensive for what you get

The location was beautiful! Loved the forrest like feel and 15min walking had a big area filled with sand, a Dutch desert next to the trees. Staf were nice and the vegan food had great taste! Room was fine, not special. 4 bunkbeds.

We loved to stay here with our group. The place of the hostel is very peaceful. Close to the city center and on the other hand it was very peaceful and quiet. Like in the woods. The employees of the hostel were always helpful.

The bedrooms weren't the most luxurious or atmospheric, but they were well facilitated and very clean! The communal spaces and surroundings on the other hand are absolutely gorgeous. Very lovely cozy place to come together.

Six of us stayed one night on our bikes. Lovely main building and a nice separate apartment with towels and shampoo. Good breakfast before we left.

We only spent one night here but it was excellent. The rooms were generously sized, clean and bright. As a family travelling around hostels and hotels for 7 nights , this was the best accomodation of the trip. Breakfast was A1, and the geral atmosphere and decor of the place is perfect. There is also a large play area outside, which the kids really enjoyed. Who ever is running this hostel should go and check out StayOkay Bunnik, and get it up to same standard.

Good location and facilities. Great place for a trip. However we went there in the summer and the room itself was boiling and near impossible for sleeping, there were no fans or any air-con despite the sawing temperatures

A decent place to stay if you want to visit Amsterdam but avoid paying for overpriced hotels there. Everything is nice and clean meeting hostels' standards. There is also an agreeable outdoor area to sit in. The major downside is a weird regulation preventing you from eating your own food outside the room.

Very friendly hostel, good food for reasonable prices and many things to do in Soest and Amersfoort. If you stay here with your kids don't miss the zoo in Amersfoort, it's great!

Unfortunately, it is not possible to give less than one star, otherwise I would. Nice location, beautiful house. However, when we arrived, our room had clearly not been cleaned after the last group left. There was half a roll of toilet paper in the six-person-room we had, dirt in the sink, none of the beds were made, and we had to ask at the reception for sheets and pillowcovers, which should have been in the room already. There were also no towels or soap, which we later found out you have to pay extra for, which has not been the case at other stayokay locations. There was no AC in the room, and the window could not be opened fully, so it became and stayed very stuffy during our stay. Considering the breakfast is included, it's okay, but not great. There are no labels on the different kinds of milk, yogurt and juice, so it's a guessing game. It was also a game of luck whether the plate you picked up was clean or full of dirt crusted onto it. Most of the younger staff were friendly and clearly doing their best, but there was one really rude older woman who would not or only very curtly talk to us and other non-dutch-speaking guests. Not only is there no place to wash your clothes or prepare food in this 'hostel', but bringing your own food and drink is actually discouraged/prohibited, despite the 'restaurant' closing at 18:00 and only serving snacks. There was some sort of conference happening at this location while we were there, and everyone who did not belong to that conference was being treated as a nuisance rather than a guest. Twice during our three-night-stay, one of our three key cards would randomly stop working, and taking them to the reception to be reactivated resulted in one of the others being deactivated. At no point was the trash in our room emptied or the toilet paper refilled, so we had to go ask for more toilet paper three times. The room was also never cleaned during our stay, and I highly doubt it will before the next guests arrive.

Top, top hostel, in my book. The friendliest and most helpful staff and just a wonderful vibe in the place with really modern but tasteful furnishing and decor in the common areas and cafeteria. Breakfast was plentiful and with good variety. Room was basic as you’d expect in a hostel but everything was spotlessly clean and worked perfectly. It’s just a short 10-minute easy walk from the railway and main bus stops. I look forward to returning.

I normally don’t bother to leave a review, but the outstanding service I was met with during my three-night stay at the Soest hostel won me over. At my arrival, the clean, cozy building and green location soothed me and made me feel right at home. In the next days, to my disappointment, school field trips occupied the building and made sure to have absolutely no manners or regard for fellow residents. The brilliant staff, though, caught up on my discomfort and quite literally did anything in their power to relieve the stress and regain peace for me. I didn’t even have to ask, they were always a few steps ahead of me in making sure I was most comfortable. Thanks to them, I ended up having the restful stay I came for, despite the barbarian children. Never have I felt this important during any stay, I guess I have learnt what true hospitality means.

Rooms are perfect and clean. Just Bring your hand towel. Apart from that, the rooms are fantastic. The Service is nice. The foods were delicious (morning, afternoon, evening) and you can change bed sheet if yours becomes dirty. Location ist also good. The train station is about 7 minutes far and super market is about 10 minutes, so it's not that far. The good thing is if you don't want to walk, you can rent bicycle. They have a lot there. Also the atmosphere is fantastic.

Place is nice but they are definitely friendly if you’re fair skinned, blond or brunette and totally European, Australian, American or whatever as long as color is FAIR. BUT if you’re a person of color, asian specifically? Hmmm, that’s another story. So, as long as you fall in the category of fair skinned, do go there, you’ll enjoy staying at their nice, quaint place but I warn those with color, you are not going treated the same.

In a quiet side street, not big. Modern with bar service and a sweet and drink vending machine, a play ground on premises, as well as games. While we stayed there were mostly younger teenagers in residence and two or three other families with small children. They rent out bikes, some with children's seats, and provide you a map with tips of what to do in the area. Seems to be popular with Italians, Portuguese and Dutch. Private rooms are clean and functional and have a small private bathroom. Sheets for thise are provided but while you get toilet paper, there is no soap to wash your hands or towels, so best unliad those from your car or get some for purchase from reception. Breakfast is included and for additional charge (17 euro for adults, half price for children) you get a dinner. Dinner is simple, meatless and healthy. For instance were the tortellini cooked without salt and you could put your own salad together. They also had upon request a gluten free spaguetti on offer. It also has tge best pre-reservation email contact if all the dutch Stayokeys. A pkeasure from start to finish taking the stress out of a parent holuday planning.

Great position. Staff really nice. Clean room even if a little bit small. No noises from the street. I should come back.

👍👍 Visited with the participants of the PlusBus033. Nice and cozy bowling alley with extremely friendly staff. Well-arranged arrangement with coffee/tea with cake to start and tasty fried snacks while playing. Anyone can bowl here, even if you have limited mobility. There's a special ball launch ramp...
