What an absolute magic place is this. The location on the Hill and the view is stunning. A must visit. So clean. These soldiers that died for us deserve this..

Magnificent memorial to Australia's missing on the Western Front. Today the walls of the memorial hold the names of almost 11,000 men who have no known grave. The tower offers beautiful all round views of the peaceful Somme countryside and a panoramic view of the 2,000 headstones in the cemetery in front of the memorial. The memorial was damaged during fighting in the Second World War. Bullet holes and shell impacts can still be seen, particularly on the tower.

Every Australian who visits the north of France shoild add the memorial to their itinerary. Beautiful. The new Sir John Monash Centre, SJMC, is a must. If you don't shed a tear in there you are not a proud Australian. You can see the bullet holes in rhe main tower. 1000 soldiers buried here.

The Australian National Memorial is, perhaps, the most impressive military cemetery I've seen to date. The site on top of the ridge shows the strategic importance of the position. It shows how exposed they were too to the elements and the enemy. The has shrapnel marks from fighting that happened here in WW2. Another superb part of this cemetery is the Sir John Monash Centre behind the tower. It's the best military museum I've experienced.

Fabulous place to visit if you’re an Australian. Amazing structure in rural France helps you appreciate the journey the young soldiers took to fight for our freedom we have today. Put in the middle of vast fields which now grow crops but back then were just muddy paddocks. Such a fabulous tribute to all those who lost their lives and it’s such a wonderful place to reflect on their sacrifice

An incredibly special and important resting place of many fallen Allied soldiers from WW1 and central memorial to Australian soldiers lost on the Western Front with no known grave. Ample parking, recommend visiting during open hours to be able to climb to the top of the memorial. Accompanying visit to the Sir John Monash Centre highly recommended.

This place has been a dream of mine long before I joined the military, and I wasn’t disappointed, especially being ANZAC day. Granted it was cold and wet, but the conditions are not makes this place important. This place is a must for any person of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK, and South Africa who would like to connect with the young people that sacrificed themselves in the name of your freedom. Also for veterans it is a way to connect to your past. It’s not well connected by public transportation, but being started in the 20’s and completed in the late 30’s it was never a consideration. This is a must for anyone in the area, even to just understand the horrors of war so we don’t repeat it.

A somber and respectful memorial to troops of the AIF with an amazing audio visual centre that maintains the highest standard of the AWM. Brilliantly put together histories and videos that highlight the sacrifice, bravery and efforts of the Australian Division in WWI. A must see for anyone interested in Australia's efforts in France during the war.

Incredible. Absolutely fantastic memorial museum. Hint - the museum part is behind the memorial and there's no signs anywhere. Unless you know it's there you'd never see it (Aug 22).

An incredible place - very moving to see all the graves, but amazingly well kept. The museum is wonderful - interactive, easy to navigate. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Loved it! Make sure you bring headphones and download the app on arrival and follow the audio guide. It takes some getting used to, as the guide starts automatically when you approach each exhibit. But the content is fantastic. Highly recommend for all Australians.

A Commonwealth military cemetary and important memorial especially to Australian forces. It includes the Sir John Monash centre which has interactive and informative displays on the battles and sacrifices around the region.

Very interesting, historical, but also beautiful location. Even during my 5th visit, it still remains an amazing place.

Magnificently maintained. Today the tower was closed for renovations and a sign stated it would've oprn in the new year. It was very moving to be there to see all graves of fallen soldiers. It would be amazing in summer and spring when the flowers and rises would be out.

Form your own opinion. If nearby you should visit. Watch the traffic at the entrance when leaving.

An exquisite memorial to remember a tragic past. The grounds are very well kept and the view from the top is breath-taking. All the amenities are impeccable and the museum is not to be missed. Be sure to bring your smart phone and earpiece as the museum is guided using an application.

A very moving place to be at so many lives lost in th area. The museum was very well done. This did not take away from the memorial at all a most of it is being the memorial and cut into the hill.

👍👍 I am very proud that this memorial and cemetery is in excellent condition and the Monash Centre is a first rate establishment. Certainly a place to honour and remember all those incredible men. Spare the time to remember Captain Frederick George Barnett of 17th Bn AIF who was killed in action in Aug...
