We had a bad experience at this hotel. As soon as we arrived - the person at reception told us our room was cancelled as there was a problem with my card and there was no other rooms available and sent us to another hotel of his, which was awful! We were exhausted as we just landed. We then went back to the hotel as my booking was still confirmed on booking.com. They miraculously had rooms and booked us into a room with no outside windows!! They also asked me to cancel our booking and climes they would not charge - and asked us to pay again. I was actually charged and so we asked for our money back. Breakfast was a disaster. I strongly advise to stay away from this hotel. I read another review below and they did the same to another guest! Not a nice welcome to Jordan. Our trip after that was amazing

Stayed a few nights and I'm delighted hy their service and cleanliness. The location is fantastic. I had rented a car and didn't face a problem parking around New Merryland Hotel. Prices are excellent for the service quality and comfort you get. New Merryland staff are the building blocks of this hotel, always prompt and very helpful staff. Mr Ahmed, Mr Ravi and Mohammed at front desk were exceptionally good in accommodating my requests and also helped me to plan my 6 day trip in Jordan. I was going to Serbia for the new years but couldn't because of visa requirements. I'm glad Jordan visa on arrival for me and I have zero regrets visiting Jordan over any European destination. Let's wish for world peace and better tourism in Jordan from 2-Jan-2024. Keep exploring all you beautiful people 🤠🛫🚶‍♂️

I spent 7 nights in this hotel and it was one of the best accommodations I’ve ever been in. The staff is kind and helpful, the rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean, and the breakfast is fantastic. I was given breakfast for free, possibly because of my long stay. I lost two objects in the pubic hotel area, they found them and returned them to me. I have a special thanks to the young man who works at the reception, he was kind, attentive and helpful all the time; unfortunately, I don't know his name. This hotel was the ideal basis to explore the nice Amman. It’s located about 30 minutes walk from the city centre, where there are popular restaurants, shops etc. But don't worry, Amman is a safe city and it’s an easy walk. One of the city’s highlights, the Citadel, is just 15 minutes walk from the hotel.

This hotel was so amazing to me. I took the bus from Petra to Amman, and Arrived at Jett station with no hotel. I ran into this hotel by accident. As soon as I walked into the lobby, it was stunning so luxurious. I thought The price would be outrageous but I got my reservation for less than $40usd. The owner was actually the one who greeted me. The next morning I had a wonderful basic breakfast in their dining hall. And the owner also arranged a cab to take me to the Israeli border. I showed him the price on uber, and he matched the price. Amazing service. I would definitely return. The rooms were basic, but very clean. And bathroom was impeccable with hot water. Will definitely stay here again next time I am in Amman. IG:@duh_lila

Nice hotel in terms of : Location, value for money. The rooms was good & clean, still they could do better job in the bathroom. The location is near from the Amman city centre. The room we got was near the main road so the sound was a bit high from the passing cars. Still I'm waiting to try the breakfast 😁.

I spent 3 nights in this hotel in Amman and I'm happy about the service received. Rooms are large and well equipped. Breakfast is complete and good. Staff is very kind and helpful. The position is 15 minutes walking from the downtown of the city, so perfect in distance. I will recommend it to everybody.

I loved staying here! I asked them the night before (very late notice!) To organize airport transfers for me and asked to check in to my hotel room around 10am. When I arrived the staff were so kind and helpful. They apologized for not having the room ready for me and included breakfast, despite not having paid for the breakfast option. The room was great and very comfortable, and I found that it was within walking distance to all the areas of interest. The best part of this hotel, however, is the staff. Lovely Ammani and Ahmed made great suggestions for me and were very caring and hospitable, so thank you to these two :) When I return to Jordan this is the place I will stay.

I had a mixed feeling about this hotel. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Every Monat breakfast he will chat with you and gives tips on what to see in Amman. However the room needs some improvement. Our room was quite damp, the design of the restroom quite bad. The lid of trash can touches toilets paper all the time when you use it. The bed not comfortable and small. The worst part is the pillows. I forgot to tell the owner about the pillows when he asked us if everything is all right in our room. Breakfast was good, especially the freshly made omelette and pancakes are really nice. The nearby area is not nice though.

Nice three star hotel close to the center. Friendly staff, easy but clean rooms, delicious breakfast. Fair prices. I certainly come back.

Lovely accomodating staff. They were very helpful and asisted us on our travel. Rooms were clean and was satisfied with our stay. We had a few concerns when we arrived and the Momen sorted it out efficiently. He always asked us how was our stay every morning and asked if there is anything they can do to help out. It is about 10/15 min walk to the city center. An up hill walk, about 15min to Abdali Mall.

Great location, close enough to downtown but just outside the busier traffic. Free parking in car park opposite - try and park there before you get to the hotel or you might end up in the busier traffic. Really good value for a 2 bedroom suite and they then gave us a free breakfast on the house on arrival. Comfy beds too.

Nice hotel, very clean and in a good shape. Comfortable and very spacious. Breakfast was good, everyone from small to big found something to enjoy. Its close to downtown couple of minutes drive, or a couple of dinars by taxi. Free parking is also available.

We were only able to spend one night at the New Merryland Hotel, but we had a fabulous time. The hotel reception is luxurious and modern, our room was very clean, quiet, spacious, the bathroom was stylish, there was a kettle with tea and coffee. There is a free buffet breakfast with a wide range of Jordanian and Western food, including a chef at an omelette station. The location is in the new town with lots of food options, 20min walk to downtown. But overall the staff were the best part. Mohammed on the front desk was very kind and welcoming. He gave us as a late check-out to fit our travel plans and arranged a taxi to the airport for us at a very reasonable rate. Thank you Mohammed!

For the price, this is a great hotel. The rooms are a bit dated, but the owner tries very hard to make up for it. He will also be helping you during breakfast to plan your whole trip and holiday. Breakfast is good by the way.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. A bit of an older building but its not too bad and for the price, the value is actually quite nice. The employees are super chill and helpful when you need, they speak english as well. Also we ate breakfast here, it has an egg bar, pancake bar and a lot of other nice breakfast foods. The only downside was the wifi was a bit slow but other than that, everything was really good. They had refrigerators and a nice view of the city. They also made the towels in a nice pattern.

It's an older hotel with new enthusiastic ownership. Truly enjoyed talking to staff every day. They approached us with ease to offer advice about Jordan. Rooms are dated but clean and comfortable. Will visit again.

We had a lovely time at New Merryland hotel. The room was spacious, with comfortable beds and big bathroom. The breakfast was both traditional and modern with good selection of items. The hotel staff was professional, very friendly, accommodating and kind especially Ahmad, Amani and Hayat. Thank you so much!

Travelled from London England and stayed with own 3 families, consisting of 14 people, between Sat 5.8.23 - Wed 9.8.23 for 5 nights and then again from Mon 14.8.23 for 1 night. The owner Manager ' Momen ' was extremely welcoming, friendly and hospitable throughout the entire stay. The other reception staff 'Ahmed ', ' Mohammad ' and chef ' Muad ' were also very helpful and accommodating, going that extra mile, when asked to do so. Request for help and advice was always exceeded. for customer service. The hotel and its staff gave 5 star service.

I have stayed in many Hotels over the years. Truth be said, I have not met such friendlier staff anywhere in the world. All the staff are credit to the Hotel. The hotel itself has a serene atmosphere and they are priced very low for the excellent service the hotel provides. The Hotel maybe a 3 star but their service makes it 5 star. Special Thanks to Ahmed and Ravi for their brilliant service. Ilyas

The quality/price was very good, spacious and clean room, location is near tourist attractions. Highlight of our stay was the staff which is very helpful they helped us with our luggages lost by the airline even after our checkout and made sure to deliver them to us in an other city of the country as soon as received. Thanks again to Momen and his team !

We were upgraded to a suite. The on street parking was safe and easy. The location is very convenient. Service was exceptional by everyone we interacted with. We were given some bottles of water for our trip and a lovely gift just before we left. Wonderful experience.

They are nice but there are some issues that annoying us. If you have internet service at the hotel rooms that should work. If doesn't work properly at the rooms, you should remove this service, driving crazy. At the breakfast room, some of tea cups not clean or not washed properly. Laundry services are extremely high price. 20 piece 20 JOD. One night double bed room is 40 JOD. I suggest do it yourself outside behind the hotel. They are going to wash your clothes by giving the same laundry anyway. They don't clean your clothes at the hotel. They don't have this services at the hotel which is not so important. Hotel crew was nice, kind and helpful. Rooms are acceptable if you are thinking that you are staying 3 stars hotel.

We were not lying on a mattress but on a steel spring base. It's too crazy for words! What a horror to let your guests sleep like this. The steel springs stung us everywhere all night. And if you say something about it they want to give back a small compensation of 6jordan dinar with a lot of effort. Do not book a room here!!! better look for a good hotel. what a setback. they should be ashamed to treat guests like this!

The staffs are very polite, nice, and helpful. I was helped a lot by the front desk Ahmad, from asking various queries and doing PCR test. The hotel is surrounded by many good restaurants. Living 2 weeks here left a lovely experience

Great hotel with amazingly helpful staff. The breakfast is delicious and the rooms are clean and comfortable. It is walking distance to the downtown (15-20 minutes) and only 5-10 minutes from a nice little neighborhood with tons of restaurants and cafes. Highly recommend!

Hello everyone! We highly recommend this hotel. Food, service, room quality are excellent! Here hotel team can help you to plan travel schedule around Jordan. They can give you many important hints for renting cars, touristic places, booking another hotels, etc. Special thanks to Ahmad, Mommin, Ali and restaurant’s team!

I highly recommend this hotel! Hotel is near city centre and main turist attractions. And the people working there are so kind! They ask if everything is ok and will help you with whatever you need- calling a taxi, delivery, giving you any information you need etc. I can not truly explain how welcoming they are. Whatever you need, feel free to ask them! Also, you get free water every day, just ask at the reception. The rooms are clean. The cleaning ladies make your bed and leave you a new, clean towel daily. You also have shampoo provided in the shower. The blow drier is fixed to the wall and works just fine. The room has a cooler and an electric kettle, and you also get free tea bags in the room. The breakfast is nice, you have a variety of options but I reccomend asking for an omelette at the omelette bar. (By the way, a small store is close nearby to the left when you exit the hotel where you can buy snacks for the day, the guy working there is honest and the prices are cheap.) All in all, the people working there truly helped us a lot with everything we needed, the service was amazing and location as well. 5 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The stay was okay. But overall, I'm not really sure why the accommodation prices are what they are here (but also in Jordan in general). Banged up furniture, omnipresent plastic wraps on chairs, water from shower spraying the entirety of the shower. No covers on the pillows?! Fridge looking like the mother of all hepatitis. For what you pay here, you can have a lovely historic B&B or a very clean chain low-range hotel (e.g. travelodge) in the UK, or a modern apartment in Canada, historic apartment/BnB in Prague. Here, you get a sub-standard hotel with some attempts to modermize it, with a view of another building or a main street. Breakfast is nice. Staff are nice and friendly but for the location/what you get, this should be a 10-15JOD room, no more. I've stayed in a fair share of dodgy places in random countries but just like all other Jordan accommodation, they keep asking pretty high prices while there literally is no bang for the buck. It's not really the problem of the hotel, I think it's symptomatic of tourism mentality/industry. So, comare to other places and prices, not bad at all as I've paid more for worse in Jordan 🤣.

Such a pleasant stay in a very clean, chique and quite ambiance. The room was great, as was the breakfast. But most of all the staff was amazing, helping us out with all kinds of requests. Way more than we could ask for, especially the kind young gentleman working there named Mohammed was very friendly and helping. Definitely recommend!

New Merryland hotel is located 20/25 minutes walk from the center and the citadel of Amman. Excellent hospitality and service: they offer a shuttle service to the airport at 20 JOD. They also quietly advanced us some JODs to pay for a taxi. The hotel is clean. The rooms are normal: it could happen that the bathroom smells of smoke. International breakfast. Cheap prices. Basically if you are passing through Amman, Merryland is a good option to stay.

With its new renovation and management, it is really great hotel which near a lot of attractions in downtown Amman. Mr. Ahmad Khatatbeh really gives an example of guest care and high customer service. Thanks a lot.

Merryland is very good hotel , its comfortable, the management is good and the service is excellent, I will not hesitate to come to it one again on my next visit to Amman .. I would like to thank the staff, especially the administrator Abu Jarir for the kindness.

We came here on 22nd of November after a long trip from Wadi Rum and were looking forward to staying in Amman. The receptionist did not smile or greet us and was not welcoming at all - first time we had this in Jordan. We had reserved the deluxe double room with a view. Instead we opened the door to the room he had given us and it was single beds with a view of a wall and air con unit. The windows were filthy, the toilet wasn't flushed, bathroom wasn't clean and the television didn't work. We thought, well, perhaps because we are two men the receptionist did not want to give us a double bed, we heard this can happen sometimes in Jordan, so not wanting to cause a fuss we just asked that the bathroom be cleaned then went out for a walk. When we returned a few hours later, the male receptionist and his female colleague at the front desk were talking about us and gesturing towards us behind our backs, laughing (note to staff - the elevator doors are mirrored so we can see exactly what you are doing even if our backs are turned). We went up to the room and nothing had been cleaned, it was as we had left it. They said it had been cleaned but this was not the case. We left and went to the Canary Boutique Hotel up the road. Same price, ten times better. And most importantly - they were nice to us at the front desk. If we had received a warm welcome at this hotel we would have been a lot more forgiving of the hotel's shortcomings and I would not have felt the need to leave this review. It's 2022. You may not agree with two men booking a double bed, but there's no need to treat them with such obvious contempt.

A beautiful hotel, the service is great, the prices are very reasonable, and the location is in the center of Amman, and it was said of everything you need

  • 2/5 Andrea D. 1 year ago on Google
Very mixed feeling about this hotel: the location is in front of a heavily trafficated road, surroundings are quite ugly. At first I got a narrow room that barely contained the bed, luckily the staff was kind enough to change my room with another that... had a wall 3m from the windows, basically it was dark all the time there! Actually, the window faced an internal shaft... Room was old and ugly, furniture needs renovation. Decent cleaning, good bathroom (but I the shower head was almost clogged, and first day there was no hot water). Wifi was a disaster, breakfast poor. Didn't like to attitude of someone of the staff that likely was acting as he didn't know about the wifi, whilst I liked a lot the honest conversation with the assistant manager. At the end they made a discount, BUT in the same time they canceled the reservation made on Booking, so they didn't pay commission and I wasn't able to leave a review there. The relatively low price doesn't fix the poor experience. Other reviews have better score because actually several rooms face the road or the streets around, but keep in mind to ask before. Finally, I met several people that were turned down due to overbooking.
