I have been informed (somewhat reliably) that this place was the original creator of the chilli pan mee. Whilst I cannot verify this for certain, I must say that their chilli is indeed heavenly. I have had numerous chilli pan mee and somehow, I find the 🌶 was just slightly off. However, the chilli here was spot on, from the texture to the level of spiciness. The pan mee was also well made. I opted for the traditional one and it was not too thick and chewy. The soup was good as well although I wished it could be warmer. The rest of the side dishes was equally good especially the deep fried "sui kao". The fishball was springy and fresh. One must always dive into the chilli when you dine here and I really enjoyed that. In fact, I tucked in so fast, I did not get any photos of the delicious chilli. 😋

Nice place to chill and it is indeed one of the better chili pan mee around! We ordered three bowls and finished it down to the gravy. However, for the price, you'll get the best bang for your buck if you go to Madam Chiam in Taman Connaught instead. For the same price, you'll get about 30% more noodles. I think for the price of $9 per bowl, you can give a little more noodles. Even for my wife, she wasn't full 😂 But if you're reading this review, definitely give them a try! Oh yeah, chili is unlimited 👍👍

This is a branch from the main restaurant at Chow Kit KL (overviewed by the uncle), this branch is taken care by the auntie. Overall the environment was clean, equipped with air conditioner and plenty of seats. I would say that the cleanliness would be better than Chow Kit main branch. Parking is not a problem, they have 2 slots available for the restaurant’s customer. Basically the menu is pretty simple, after u order, then only they will cook the noodles, so be prepared to wait for awhile. The coffee was not really nice. U should opt for herbal tea rather than coffee. The noodles were springy and chewy, pairing with the oozy egg yolk and their famous chili paste, it’s phenomenal! Most importantly there is crispy pork lard, and fresh fried ikan bilis, making the bowl even more flavourful! The portion was adequate for RM10, though it is slightly higher priced than usual hawker stall. ( it’s a restaurant afterall) The soup dumplings were okay, the skin was thin and no “gan shui “ taste. The meat filling was pretty decent, with addition of water chestnuts, improving the overall texture. The soup was very light, not salty. Overall a nice place to fix your panmee cravings. Their food speaks for their long standing history, my mum have been having their noodles since she was in her 20s, and now me, in my 20s and still having their food.

Ordered dry and soup pan mee. The soup is totally tasteless. The aunty give a small bowl to my son but the bowl was so oily, requested to change a new bowl. The the aunty rinse the bowl with water and wipe it dry with a table cloth! Its so unhygienic. The small bowl is for a kid why use a table cloth to wipe it dry?! After wiped the bowl, the aunty use that cloth to wipe table. Disgusting.

Have been eating their chilli pan mee since I was young at the first branch (chow kit). I think it has been over 15 years. The taste never change and still the best among chilli pan mee shop! However, the price went up a lot! One bowl for RM 9.50 but it worth it! Strongly recommended!

Sorry to say that pan mee here is overpriced for its taste and quality. Nonetheless you do not have much choices in Pandan Indah if you are looking for pan mee. The chili does pack a satisfying punch despite all its shortcomings. Noodle only comes in one size, no option for large or small portion.

Amazing quality as well food wise if compared to the chow kit branch. The addition of pork lard all through the noodle dish made it even more palatable. The one downside to this experience is that we had to wait 20 minutes to get 2 bowls of soup after we got our bowl of 🍜 and even had to see other tables getting not only their orders but also all their additional orders before I could enjoy my bowl of noodles with the bowl vegetable soup. Definitely sticking back to the chow kit branch even though there's a longer line but at least they have a table tracking system and know what customers to serve first. 😔

I found the “original chili pan mee” finally. The noodle is just amazing. Much better than other restaurants which carry the same name.

I've ordered dry and soup pan mee. The hand-pulled pan mee were perfectly cooked (hard to go wrong with pan mee anyways) and had a wonderful chewiness to them. The broth was rich and flavorful. Minced meat, mushrooms, and fresh greens are all nice as expected. I've also ordered fu chuk soup as sides, kinda average and nothing special. Do note that they charge extra RM1 for dry chilli flakes takeaway.

Always enjoy the chilli ban mee here. We will missed it if we don’t come for a while and crave for it. The combination of fried anchovies, pork lard, famous chilli and the al-dante noodles with the poach eggs is just a wonderful combo. The side dishes like fish and meat balls are welcome dishes too! Service is fast and usually don’t have to wait long.

    1. Overpriced. RM11 for a bowl of small pan mee + egg. There are surrounding kopi-tiam selling such portions for RM8 to RM9. 2. The soup is tasteless. Literally the plainest pan mee soup I have ever tasted. Tried to stomach the whole thing with lots of dried chilli flakes (which taste ... Nah...) . Just don't want to waste food. No next time. 😢
