For a 4-star hotel, our experience was not great to say the least. Overall the room was not very clean, you could clearly see a lot of dust in the corners but the worst was a clipped nail and hair in the bathroom. The towels didn't smell very fresh and there were not many toiletries provided. It had a very cheap vibe to it. The staff was okay wouldn't call them friendly but definitely not rude. They did allow us to check in almost two hours before which was nice. The disinfectant dispensers barely dispense, it seems they are all calibrated to give the smallest possible amount.

The workers are very friendly and the rooms are large. However, the cleanliness of the room wasn’t good, the pillows are very uncomfortable (that feels old) and the room was very cold even with a thermostat. As positive points I found that the views were good. There was also good communication with the center of Amsterdam.

I stayed here for 5 days in May 2022. Very good and complete breakfast buffet. Staff super friendly. Location not stellar. Facilities OK. Housekeeping was not consistent, for example taking out the half-empty bottles of shampoo/body-wash one day and forgetting to put any back in there , then on a different day taking out an almost full set of them and unnecessarily replacing with unopened ones. Cleanliness was so-so... my shower had to be maintained because it wouldn't drain until the super friendly staff came to remove the huge ball of hair accumulated under it. So although the friendliness was always great, the actual place/service wasn't always.

The hotel itself is modern, well equipped and great for business travellers. The staff was professional and efficient. I just wish that they labeled the food in their buffet properly as non-vegetarian, vegetarian and vegan because they gave me, a vegetarian, a dish with meat. I didn’t make a big fuss about it but really was not a good experience. There aren’t many options around as well as it is in a sort of desolate location and the nearest shop or public transport is a 10 minute walk. It may not be too bad on most days but remember that you have to do it with a luggage.

Very poor. Travelling alone. I booked a double room, was given a twin, with a third bed made up from a sofa bed. I queried at reception and was told that was all there was and it was an upgrade. I ended up in a cramped room and a small single bed. Servicing of room was poor. Every day something was missed; towels, tea, coffee etc. Very few TV channels worked, reception just said oh yes, there's a problem. I have stayed here multiple times before and they have been great stays. This time was very disappointing. You pay a premium price for a high standard of accommodation, this time the standard was unacceptable.

Nice , modern Mercure hotel. The privillege room is large and very well décorated. Modern , very nice bathroom with italian shower. Bed was confortable. Nice view. The hôtel interior is Nice too. Nice bar area. Location is fine , a bit far from the city center but metro is only 10 minutes walking distance. Some minus points should be improved. Not sufficiant information on arrival : no info about wellness area , we discovered there is one by seing the elevator button. Also, there was no information about the minibar that we had to ask for the complimentary drinks directly at réception. They do not fill the minibar in room. This should be clearly explained by réception staff or written in the room. Also, there was no room service at all (Which is mandatory in a 4 star hôtel) Very bad point is that I asked for rose petals in the room on arrival by e-mail and never got any answer so of course it was not done on arrival. I also asked for an invoice by e-mail : never got answered. I also work in an Accor hotel and not answering to e-mails should never happen… I still give 4 stars because of the very Nice room and the night staff was friendly.

The location was the only bad thing, while everything was perfect, we booked the privileged rooms, as they were very very nice, spacious, and modern. They gave us 5 free drinks per day, because we booked the privliged rooms. I believe this is the most beautiful branch of mercure in terms of its facilities and rooms.

Very good hotel with all the things u needed. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms’ space is comparatively better than my other stays in other European countries. Just the location is far away from city and all attractions. But overall, I’m happy with my stay

Positive: I was in business trip. The location is quite far from the touristic areas but there is Overamstel metro sation close the hotel. By the way, one of my day, I have walked the central near by Amstel River in one hour. The metros are working till 12.45 from Central Station. I didn't like lunch and dinner(may be cultural taste difference). Breakfast was fixed and okey. If you are there for a business, you are going to like their buffet. The snacks were high qualified. The receptionist always will be avaliable for you. They were so helpful and talkative. One drink will be free when you check in. Thank you for all for my 6 days. Negative: The air conditioner was always fixed and never get high. But they offer to change my room or to give me an extra heater and blanket. So I got an extra heater and solved my problem. There was a sink at reception to drink water. Last 2 days it was not working. You need to ask slipper. Otherwise they will not put your room. If I have chance I am going to choose them again.

Quite recently renovated hotel with big rooms. Breakfast is fine, but could be more for 4 stars hotel. Our room was definitely not well prepared and cleaning is under average expectation for this level. On the other hand reaction on reception was quite fast even on holiday. Parking with width places. Generally it gives a good feelings. Would stay here again.

It is a very nice, modern and clean hotel. Close to a Metrostation. According to a bad windstorm in germany our train got cancelled and we could'nt arrive on time unfortunately. I directly called the hotel, everybody was very nice but nobody cared about our lost day and lost money. No accommodation with something. Very sad for this big named hotel. But all in all our stay in the hotel was good.

I read some people complaining about size of the room for a 4 star hotel.Just to clarify, this hotels are kind of business hotels, they have been originally thought and created to accommodate guests only for one or two nights for business trip, therefore their strengh isn't the size of the room but the amenities they offer, from restaurants to bars and spaces to hold meetings. Also the location,Rai,reflects that.Of course tourists can choose it as well, as I did, to have a quality hotel which would have been a lot more expensive in central Amsterdam. City Centre is not far, should be about 7 km from there, if you get the tram you'll be there in 30 minutes or so.The hotel meets all requirements of a 4 star hotel.Very good breakfast ,cleanliness at high standard and overall no complaints to do.Rooms very comfortable

Hotel was good, room very good, cleanliness fine, only major grudge is booked two nights. Had a superb breakfast after first night then went down for second morning only to be told |I hadn't paid for breakfast. Quite abrupt staff member who just wanted my credit card to pay for breakfast. Left hotel to find breakfast elsewhere.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating from the moment my partner and i arrived at the hotel. it was about a 10 minute walk from the metro stop, which we were aware of when booking. Upon arrival to the hotel we were greeted by a lovely lady who tended to us very quickly. our room was nice and clean, the air conditioning and heating worked well, the shower was amazing, warm and powerful we had full use of the spa and gym. the bar and seating area was lovely and comfortable. a very enjoyable and pleasurable experience. would definitely stay here again.

Beds were great, the rooms were comfortable and pretty, the TV service was rather useless, it would have been nice to have options to enter our own streaming accounts or something better but very often there was something nothing on the channels and the remotes were clunky. The front desk is confusing, the service can be distant and distracted, there are often issues with the computer system that makes things go longer. The service level should be better at the front desk. The woman with a light brown hair and the man with the beard were particularly good, the other ones not so much. The air conditioning in the room was a source of constant frustration. Trying to figure out how it works, trying to get it to a temperature that it would stay at. It felt like it was constantly starting up on its own. I would come back but another hotel could sway me away. It's a pretty place, the breakfast is actually fantastic, but there is a lot to be said for the front desk service. I would often ask where there were restaurants of a certain type and I would receive a blank stare. The bar is a ghost town. It needs a bell to get a bartender to come out and service you.

Very quiet, nice people, and I had a perfect room for one person. I didn't use any services to clean the room for a week and I got along just fine. The only thing was that the hinges on my door were so loud (squeeky) that I was afraid to open the door for fear of waking up all the visitors on the floor I was on. I asked to have maintenance fix this, on multiple occasions, but it didn't happen. Otherwise the score would've been a TEN. Also, I think the hotel should consider allowing the bar to stay open until 1am on Friday and saturday nights. Thanks for the great stay!

Upon check in we were treated with the utmost courtesy and introduced to the hotel program which also included a room upgrade. We had stayed in 7 hotels on this trip (2 of them Mercure) and this was the absolute best. My wife had gotten a cold and the comfortable bed plus showers were a godsend to make her feel better. Thank you again to the clerk who took such great care of us .

Hotel is good. Rooms are cleaned every day, towels replaced on every other day. Breakfast includes wide variety of options. The room was small but convenient and fully functional for business travelers. There are a couple of options for restaurants in the area on 10 mins walking. The only negative is its distance from the transport - more than a kilometer walking. Not very good if you need to do it 4 times a day.

Great stay at this hotel. Conveniently located near a station with regular trains in to the centre of Amsterdam. Loved the choice at breakfast and the general ambience of the hotel. Would definitely stay here again

The hotel is like Mecure hotels in that's it's a bit different, much more funky design inside and feels more fun than its competitors. The rooms are fine, the public areas are good. Breakfast is decent too. Certainly somewhere I'll stay again

Me and my family stayed in a very clean and comfortable room for one night. The breakfast was excellent as well. A special mention goes to the hotel receptionist by the name of FERENC JANY. This very kind and welcoming receptionist went out of his way to call his superior, who was actually on his day off, to help us resolve an issue we encountered on our day of arrival. To him and the whole hotel staff, I would like to say a big thank you.

The hotel is 10-15 mins walks from the nearest metro station. The facilities are okay. The dental and shaving kit is available if we ask at the receptionist counter only. Overall it’s a good stay.

This hotel in my view is a classic example of how poorly you can treat your customers in the lure for cutting costs. The way rooms have been designed is extremely poor. Only corporates book this hotel, they charge whatever money and provide absolutely poor room quality. Canal view from the room is definitely a good part.

We booked a family room which was essentially a queen bed and the most comfortable sofa bed I've ever slept on. All in all the hotel was comfortable, but it's quite a trek (about 30 minutes) to most downtown locations of interest.

Situated walking distance to the metro. Allongside the aAmstel River. Lovely breakfast. Very clean hotel. Room was comfortable with all necessary amenities. Comfy bed. Rain shower. Linen of good quality and very clean. I think the best part is the staff. They are so friendly and helpfull and go the extra mile .

I arrived a little earlier before the time check-in but they were kind enough to give me my room. To my surprise I had decorations and nice cards for my birthday. A Nice privilege double with a great view, very kind and serviable staff. Breakfast was diverse and sumptuous, was there for three days and there was the availability of variety always. A few minutes walk from the metro station but once accustomed, it seems shorter but also very accessible by taxi or Uber. Very pleased with my overall stay. Thanks once again.

Good location. Handy to trains and bikes. Shops are near by. Fantastic laid back atmosphere. Bronzed beautiful Dutchies everywhere cruising the massive amounts of canals. Use the boat. No car needed. Get a bike, it's flat, everyone does.

Extremely loud and inefficient air conditioning that ruined my stay. The staff could not help and said it was the normal… which should not be. Could barely get any sleep. Nespresso machine in the room not working, said it twice, never fixed. Huge queues at the lobby in the morning. No answers to my concerns. What kind of Mercure hotel is that ?! We’ll the kind you don’t want to go up !…

The employees do not seem to care about the customers. No one seemed to be doing their jobs, making customers wait more than 20 minutes to be checked in. There was a long wait, and it felt like the employees were judging. Also, Information about the hotel amenities was not given during check-in, and on top of that, the room only looked “clean.” As you look through the room, you can see hair found all over the room, stain marks, and a weird scent. This was mentioned to the front, and they apologized and accommodated by switching the rooms, but it was just about the same. The rooms felt unclean, and I felt disgusted staying in this hotel. I would not recommend it to anyone. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at.

  • 3/5 Prativa U. 2 years ago on Google
I think the hotel is using and wasting too much plastic for soap, shampoo, and lotions. It would be nice if they use a refillable bottles of shampoo and all. It broke my heart too see little bottles being renewed everyday. I can just imagine how much soap and plastic are wasted. 🥲❤️‍🩹

This hotel has the absolute worst service you can possibly imagine. Everyone looks for an easy and convenient booking for their next stay. All conversations with their receptionists were completely opposite. The customer service was completely rude, disrespectful, impatient, and misleading. I originally booked for a double privilege and was redirected to a double classic. Was upset at first but figure my fiancé and I can work with it. You’d expect a neat and clean room when you first walk in. Absolutely not, bed was not made, water all over the bathroom floor and sink area, and it felt as if the room was no where near prepared for the next guest(s). We spoke with the front desk which they apologized and said there will be someone coming up to clean up. After 2 hours of waiting, we gave up and cleaned it ourselves. Starting to relax, we started to have allergic reactions, assuming dust mite. At this point we were both stressing out. The Wi-Fi connection was absolutely terrible, couldn’t even load a simple google.com page. Getting ready for bed I turned on the AC and immediately there was dust particles flying out and left a moldy smell in the entire room. Cut it off immediately and opened the window. We attempted to sleep. In the morning we wake up and she has two bites by her ankle, yep, bed bug(s). Seriously? Immediately got frustrated and went to the front desk to complain. Was apologized to and was told “things happen, it will be addressed.” We were shocked! Manager for that shift moved us to another room. Everything was pretty neat but had a damp and musty smell, mold? Spoke to the manager and switched to ANOTHER room. Finally we had a decent room with very minor issues. This hotel gave us much more stress than anything. Vacations should be stress free! This was a completely nightmare. Would never recommend anyone to stay here! This is a public warning!

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. Staff was super friendly, and room was great. Lovely terrace on the riverside for your morning coffee. We had an issue with our car battery on our way back and one of the staff members (Lars) helped jumpstart our car, on two occasions! 10/10

Staff were all very (!) polite, customer facing and even left a little gift in my room after my hairdryer was defect and there were some small issues with the room itself. All customer interaction at reception was curteous and positive. Again, best hotel I have stayed at in a long time. Thank you for the experience.

A very lovely hotel right on the water. I was on the 16th floor so I had a very lovely view of the city and surrounding areas. Close to downtown. The hotel room was spacious and better than I expected. It had a microwave, fridge with five cans of drinks for the guests, a sink, and lots of storage space. The reception was great, very warm and welcoming.

Maybe I was unlucky but Check-in was the worst I’ve experienced. Rooms were not ready at 3:30PM. Breakfast is average (3 star hotel like) if you are into English breakfast, below average if you are not. Gym has the needed basics and no one seems to use it, which was a nice bonus. The sauna is not usually on, so you may need to ask someone to turn it on. Location wise it is not the best, but it does not take so long via the metro. If you are not into gym or sauna after being busy in your city trip, better stay in Ibis.

Location: the name is misleading, making you think it's in the city ! it's very remote, and close to the newly built suburt. The nearest metro stop is 20min walk away. Food: is terrible. The quality of the products (bread, salad, fruit, warm meals) is very low and completely tasteless. I've been there several times both before and after corona and it's always the same. The buffet makes you think there is lots of choice, but everything is completely tasteless and bad quality.

  • 3/5 Andrey P. 2 years ago on Google
The room is nice - clean and spacious. Free minibar, tea and coffee in the room. To the metro 7 minutes on foot. You can park your car for free on the road, but not right next to the hotel (there is paid parking), but a little further away. Parking at the hotel is 24 euros. Overall ok, but breakfast was not very good and coffee for breakfast was not tasty. In addition, everyone was without masks - both the staff and the visitors. Only 2 elevators for such a tall building - to go to breakfast the elevator waited 15 minutes.

  • 5/5 Richard M. 1 year ago on Google
Great hotel for comfort - rooms are really nice and hotel is set out nicely. It's about a 10 min walk to nearest metro station but otherwise there is absolutely nothing in the immediate area around it feeling like a bit of an industrial location. But if you are happy to travel via metro or taxi you will get places no issue. Food and breakfast feels super expensive so recommend getting it elsewhere. Buffet meal and breakfast is usually around €30+

As a diamond member I have stayed at many of the mecure properties and this one was dissapointing. Normally I would get an upgraded room but this wasnt the case. The rooms were ok. I struggled to get the heating to work after three attempts and the air con servicing staff said they have fixed it, which means sleeping in the cold. Each time I called reception to ask for something they told me to come to reception to collect it. The breakfast was average, big queues and both times I had to wait to get a table. There was no food available after 9pm and I was told to use Uber to get food, as my flight was late arriving. I had to stay here as it was close to my office but think I will be looking for other properties to stay at next time around.

Situated a little out of the city centre but with good metro links. Expensive shop, bar and restaurant with limited options. Staff very welcoming and friendly, very clean rooms. Excellent WiFi speed.

  • 3/5 Iris Alexandra N. 1 year ago on Google
It is a nice hotel with a cool lobby. As cons I will list the following: - bad location, there’s no store nearby and you have to rely on ordering from Uber Eats if you want a bag of chips (this is in case you don’t want to spend 10€ on it if you buy it from the hotel lobby) - very thin walls between the rooms, we had a very unpleasant experience when an Italian guy which was in the room next to ours who had a phone conversation for 3 hours straight and you could hear him so clearly as if he was talking in your room - the bathroom door didn’t lock properly as it was a sliding door and the bathroom didn’t have any ventilation

This one was challenging. We didn't realize we didn't get any towels, and there was no phone to call for towels. Made for a hectic morning...A/C didn't work, and the room was quite hot.
