Used to be one of my favorite hotels, but dropped in quality and service to unacceptable level for their pricing. Covid is not an excuse for impoliteness, you can deal with consequences in many ways. Multiple cancellations due to staffing issues for an anniversary surprise without an apology or solution is sad, especially when dealing with arrogant staff in the process. We understand the situation in the world and staff that can't come in. You still have a way of finding a solution for another and being understanding about. It is never fun if something gets cancelled and you could have handled it better. There is never an excuse for being unkind to anybody, especially my wife.

We arrived in jeans and t-shirt and received a rather unwelcome "Hello but you don't belong here" vibe... once we mentioned our reservation for the night the facial expression of the manager changed immediately but left a rather unprofessional feeling with us. When I secured the hotel fee with my credit card I had to paper sign the receipt although I had already entered my pin... gives you the feeling they don't trust your ability to pay for such a high-class hotel. We had a rather expensive room that was missing a real wow factor, anyway. Have stayed in many five star hotels around the world, but this one doesn't qualify for another stay. We had dinner at restaurant Spectrum at Waldorf Astoria, over there every single employee is greeting you utterly friendly and professionaly, might be a better place to stay next time.

We had an incredible stay at The Dylan. The staff were extremely professional, polite, very friendly and hospitable. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we had a spotless experience from check in through to check out. The little touches like the playlist in the room or the turn down cookies from the famous Amsterdam cookie shop were special and set The Dylan apart. The decoration, particularly of the bar was tasteful and timeless. We'd like to say a special thank you to the concierge, Eddie, who was particularly warm and helpful. We certainly would recommend The Dylan to anyone looking for a quiet and beautiful stay in the perfect location in Amsterdam.

Fantastic stay at the Dylan. The hotel was charming and the perfect size. The breakfast was amazing and the staff was excellent. The only feedback is to have a rule on the breakfast dress code. We saw a couple come for breakfast in PJs and bathroom slippers that killed the chic vibe of the place. Overall great experience

The Dylan is best in many ways, location, very kind and friendly staff, cleanliness, bar, restaurant and convenience. They are in this business long time and definitely got it. Every guest greeted with smile they get you the door every time, always helpful and kind. I would highly recommend this place.

Charming entrance out of a fairytale, a smiling staff that anticipates your every need, beautiful courtyards to dine and drink in- it made me feel like a prince in disguise. One of my favorite places in Amsterdam. Thank you.

A lovely hotel on Amsterdam’s most chic canal, only a few blocks away from the cool shopping streets, the well known Van Stepele Cookie Shop and the Pulitzer Hotel. 10/10 for interior design, aesthetics, in-room technology and chic/vogue value. Found the ‘a la carte-buffet hybrid’ breakfast to be of high quality but lacked European Breakfast essentials like cured meats and cheeses. Also whenever asked for an Americano, we were served a simple black coffee. Housekeeping could be better as turndown service was not great, neither was water replenished in our room daily. Conclusively, besides these small misses, the hotel is a HIT! I loved it and I want to be back soon.

What an amazing and beautiful hotel. The interior is so cool and stylish, staff extremely friendly and helpful. I had to print out documents, find restaurants and companies around the city and the staff was a huge help. Everything is clean and flawless. My best stay in Amsterdam till now. Location is also great for the town Center

I had a lovely stay at The Dylan. Renee and her staff are exceptional and when back in Amsterdam I don't plan on staying anywhere else. They took care of me and made me feel like a return guest when it was my first stay with them. I enjoy a unique boutique property but I value great customer support and experience above everything else and they delivered. I appreciated the transparency and communication prior to arrival to ensure a great stay. Special thanks to Eddie and Kate for going out of their way to provide recommendations and make me feel at home. Cheers!

We didn't love it. The common rooms are beautiful and it certinaly looks nice. We stayed in room 10, which looked beautiful also and was spacious, but really terrible to sleep in. It faces the garden/courtyard. The lights are on in the courtyard all night. With only wooden blinds to try and keep the light out it meant the room was never dark. We didn't have a good night sleep for either of the 2 nights we stayed. I would also avoid rooms 1 and 2 as I think they would have the same problem. We also found the service in the F&B areas to be slow and inconsistent with a few mistakes. Overall - looks beautiful but wasn't worth the money. Wouldn't stay here again.

The best hidden Luxury Boutique Style Hotel in the heart of Amsterdam with a 2 star Michelin Restaurant to complete a true Dutch Hospitality Experience! Perfectly located at the Keizersgracht. The location is just a dream. Feel the atmosphere of times gone by and the new vibe that has been carefully crafted to create one of the best hotels I have ever been too. We rented out the inner garden to celebrate our marriage with friends & family. Unforgettable!!!!

What an amazing experience at The Dylan. We had booked a different hotel, but changed to The Dylan because the communication with the previously booked hotel was so poor. The Dylan was the complete opposite. From the moment we got to the airport and experienced delays, they stayed in constant communication to ensure our transportation was available and reservations adjusted. The concierge, Ronald, deserves special mention as he was extremely helpful throughout our stay. Every member of the staff was pleasant and made us feel at home the entire time we were there. The courtyard was gorgeous and we sat to enjoy a cappuccino in the open air. Don’t miss “The Director” at the hotel bar. The drink was DELICIOUS. The location of the hotel is also great as we walked all over the old part of Amsterdam / Canal District / 9 Streets. We stayed in room 24 which is a suite at the top of the hotel. If you can’t handle stairs it won’t work for you as you need to access via a spiral staircase, but if you can, it was a phenomenal experience. Comfortable furniture and bedding, a great HUGE bathroom, and so many amenities. We were only here a couple of days before cruising and are sad to leave. We will definitely be back. Probably the best hotel experience we’ve ever had.

My husband and I are 3 1/2 months into a grand tour of Europe. We have stayed in 4.5 - 5 Star throughout our trip. Dylan Hotel is a standout. A beautiful view overlooking the canal, outstanding service, exceptionally good breakfasts and the nicest staff ever made us not want to leave. Highly recommend 👍

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Dylan Amsterdam during ADE and we can wholeheartedly say that our experience was nothing short of exceptional. This 5-star hotel left an indelible impression, and we would gladly give it a perfect 5-star rating. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by a team of incredibly friendly and professional staff. Their warmth and attentiveness set the tone for our entire stay, making us feel valued and well taken care of. The hotel itself is a stunning old building nestled right in the heart of Amsterdam. Its tasteful and thoughtful renovation preserved the architectural charm while providing all the modern amenities one could desire. The result is a space that seamlessly blends old-world elegance with contemporary comfort. Our well-appointed room was a true sanctuary. Impeccably clean and thoughtfully designed, it provided the perfect respite after exploring the city and dancing the night away at different ADE events. One evening, we had the pleasure of dining at the hotel's restaurant, Vinkeles, with friends who were visiting the city for ADE. The seasonal taster menu was a true revelation, and the wine recommendations from the knowledgeable staff enhanced the meal's flavors. It was a memorable dining experience that we won't soon forget. The level of service extended even beyond our dining experience. Late one evening, we needed assistance from the night reception team. They were incredibly helpful and friendly, going out of their way to assist us, and they even managed to fix the wheel that had fallen off our suitcase during our journey. It's this kind of exceptional service that sets The Dylan apart and showcases their commitment to going the extra mile for their guests.

Our stay at the Dylan was wonderful and it exceeded our expectations. The hotel is beautiful, the location is perfect, in the heart of Amsterdam, and the staff is very professional and friendly. We received a warm welcome and a tour through the hotel. Later the evening we had dinner in Bar Brasserie Occo. The wine and food was delicious and again, the staff friendly and professional. We had an amazing stay and we can definitely recommend everyone to stay at the Dylan!

Comfortable room.Nice people. Always at our service. Very nice food. We only noticed that the room wasn't warm when we arrived but it warmed up very quickly. Very good experience. Recommended.

Posh in every way (and that's a compliment). Even if you don't stay there, treat yourself to the bar area (very friendly bartenders/servers, very reasonably priced drinks). Perfect for a romantic evening. This a photo of the courtyard off the bar area.

A nice coffee in the back terrace or an indoors refreshment when it is too warm.

One of the best hotels in town but for the second time the airco or something else in my room spreads the air / smell from the kitchen. The only downside.

My wife and I had an overnight layover in Amsterdam and spent a night at The Dylan and dined at the hotel restaurant, Vinkeles. I cannot say enough great things about the staff, accommodations and hotel experience. From the second we arrived until the moment we left, every detail was perfect and we were made to feel at home. We also took a great walk after our incredible dining experience at Vinkeles and loved the gorgeous neighborhood. The neighborhood is fairly quiet and we felt very safe, even at nearly midnight. We will return!

I was very disappointed with the conditions of the rooms. It doesn’t meet the standards of the leading hotels of the world. Air conditioning was poor and they could not fix one of our rooms. One worked fine and they tried to explain that is was just the weather. When one room works and the other doesn’t that is not weather.

We had a great stay at this hotel, room was huge and split on two levels. Very elegantly decorated as well as the entrance and breakfast area of the hotel. Probably room was a little dark but it was fine. Friendly staff and tasty breakfast even that I’m usually skipping my breakfast. Bit sure if to post here but I was lucky to get into Michelin restaurant at the hotel. Was 10/10 experience. Great tasty food and perfect service

The Dylan exceeded my expectations even with my high hopes that it would be good! Although the reviews were generally very favorable, I was still unsure if it would meet my expectations because sometimes even highly rated places fall short. However, this hotel had me from the beginning as I walked into the charming outdoor courtyard that greets you as soon as you walk into their gates. From the front desk to the concierge to the staff at the OCCO we felt welcomed and so very well taken care of. It was our home away from home. Our room was great too - modern yet vintage and I mean that in the best way possible. It's also in such a great location as it is close to restaurants and the nine streets walking area. Even the bathrooms that are close to the front desk area have a sense of charm that is often missing even at higher end hotels. This boutique hotel oozes luxury in a way that isn't overdone. I wish that I had gotten the name of all of the staff that were particularly wonderful but honestly everyone we came in contact with here was great. I would 100% stay here again and I will recommend The Dylan to anyone who will listen. I seriously look forward to when we can return.
