Great place for young travelers. The ground level is a big bar, and the hostel rooms are on the floors above. Always lively into the late hours of the night. Rooms are clean and serve all the basic necessities. The hostel also has breakfast, although very limited hours, and automated luggage storage lockers. Would definitely stay here again.

I do not recommend this hostel if you are a solo traveler and would like to meet new people. The common area of this hostel is a bar with a dj or live music at night. so if you are looking for a more quiet night to socialize or just chill with some new friends, just forget about it!! The music is also so loud that you can hear it in the rooms and it goes until 4 am. I wouldn't stay in this place if I visit again.

Most importantly: the beds are comfortable. The sheets, pillows, and mattresses are super soft and great. So, if you have good earplugs and an eye mask you should sleep well. Otherwise the hostel is a party hostel oriented towards young people and run by young people. That’s what I didn’t like. The breakfast wasn’t ready on time. They seemed like they didn’t care too much about their job. Which, I don’t blame them. I didn’t either at that age.

Really impressed with this place. Very centrally located yet quiet. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Fresh towels and soap every day. The breakfast and bar food are excellent. Friendly and helpful staff. We would definitely stay again

We stayed at this location for 5 nights. Let's break down the pros and cons. Pros: EXCELLENT location (about 6 minutes from the train station by an easy walk, very central with quick and easy access to everything including coffeeshops, red light district, etc.). The restaurant downstairs (Belushi?) Is very good and the discount for guests is really generous. Positive experience with staff overall. Cons: As expected based on other reviews, the rooms are SMALL. Specifically, the washroom is the smallest I have seen I think. Serviceable for sure, just don't have high expectations. We were on the second floor and things are loud for sure, but it never really bothered us. Throw on some sleep sounds and it drowns out all other noises. It really didn't end up affecting us too negatively. Overall, for the location alone I would stay here again without any questions. Loved our experience :)

Very happy with the stay and for the price it’s really good. Quite noisy, but it’s in downtown Amsterdam so can’t expect something else. If I was into trick music I think I’d given it a 5 star :) it’s very much rock music there, so if you want a more calm hostel this is not really the place. But if you want to party and mingle then yes!

Right in the middle of Amsterdam, walkable distance to tons of activities, restaurants, shops, coffeeshops, and anything else you might need. Really friendly staff, especially the blonde woman at reception and the blonde bartender with the insect tattoos. Really good lovely bar downstairs which serves food and guests of the hostel get a discount. Rooms are clean, well equipped, and feel secure.

The party is just here ! Stayed in the private rooms with a friend. I loved that this place is one of the most popular places for being the youth center for evening activities such as drinks, live DJ and dancing. It’s packed, food restaurant is amazing and if you stay here you get great deal for drinks but 1 get 1 and percentage on the food. You may ask about the convenience of staying at such as a noisy place and how safe it’s ,. I was surprised how isolated the room from the noise and 2 steps of security to get to the room so no worries ! Moreover a luggage room that you can rent by hour is available! Location is in the middle of everything!

solid hostel! the location was absolutely fantastic, the beds were comfy and we enjoyed the discounts on food and drink. but do be aware there is no kitchen and it can be a bit noisy at night, although that is to be expected from a hostel! very lovely staff aswell xx

The location is AMAZING. The stuff is pretty helpful in the reception as well as the bar and the restaurant. The rooms are not that clean and the cards we’ve given could open more than the doors that they’re supposed to.The rooms get cleaned everyday but a lot of surfaces have dust and are genuinely not cleaned, but for the price , the location and the number of rooms of the hostel it’s understandable. We had an a pretty awful experience in one of the mixed rooms because someone had sex during the night with all the other people staying in the dorm being present. The security guy is really good and funny.

Great location, right in the heart of things surrounded by food and drink options. Short walk to centre square. 15-20 min walk to Rijksmuseum. Mixed dorm was fine with a private bathroom and curtains to make it more private. Luggage storage was accessible. Saturday night is much more expensive than any other night, but the other nights are great value.

Nice Hostel to stay for a couple of days. Great bar downstairs to meet open minded people around the world. The Location is perfect, there is no need to rent a bike or whatever. Rooms get cleaned mostly every day. Had a lovely stay here.

Rooms were clean and well laid out. The only negative was that they weren't the unique decorated rooms as advertised, and the stairs to my particular room were insanly steep. But it's not a big deal. The location was great, walk any direction, and you're gonna find something to enjoy. The staff were great, and the downstairs bar had a great vibe. Would happily come back.

A very well maintained hostel in the city center of Amsterdam, 8 minutes walking from central station. Bathroom is really nice and shared only among the roommates. Cleaning seems to be done everyday. Nice balcony. Bar and restaurant downstairs with nice discounts. Lot of young international travellers. If I have to crash for a few nights in Amsterdam, I will definitely choose this place.

An excellent, no-frills experience in the heart of Amsterdam. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the bar/lounge it is attached to is a fine place to relax before or after a day of exploring the city. The only real downside is that they only have a single elevator, which can only safely carry about two people. This can be quite inconvenient if your room is located on one of the upper floors, so plan accordingly.

  • 5/5 arif r. 1 year ago on Google
Great location in Amsterdam Central, rooms were tidied daily, pressure in the showers were strong. The bar on the ground floor was lively and vibrant, with travelers from all over. Very friendly staff, always asked if everything was okay and if we needed any help, big shout out to Minke who made us feel very welcome. Will be returning for sure!

  • 5/5 Hannah F. 11 months ago on Google
Great location just about 10 minutes from the rail station and a few minutes walk from the city center. Finding it the first day took a few seconds longer because it's within the bar and not plainly advertised on the outside. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately they're strict on no early check in's and I had to pay for a locker. The elevator worked most of the time. The room itself was small but worked fine, it as well as the bathroom were very clean so props to house keeping! You'll hear the night life until 3 or 4 am Unfortunately so if you need a quiet place this is NOT it, but if you're like me and can sleep through anything then I'd say it's a pretty dent place. I do wish there was more ventilation in the room I had because it got to be very stuffy with all the beds taken up. I paid 6 euros for the breakfast and it wasn't the most wide variety but it was decent and tasted fine. I traveled as solo female traveler and felt totally safe and comfortable here and made some new friends along the way so I call it a win.

Great location most things in walking distance and great food in the restaurant. What you would expect from a hostel, we booked a double room with en suite and it was nice. Option to have a room refresh everyday and new towels which was nice. Super noisy at night but that’s to expected considering the location. Overall good experience and lovely staff.

one of the finest hostel I’ve ever stayed! The room’s overall clean bathroom’s tidy too. Location wise, It’s like the center of everything. Most tourist attractions are walkable from the hostel. Many bars around here so If you’re party people or like to go out at night, It’ll be perfect you. And also, thank you for the coffee and warm welcome

Moses was very nice with me when he decided to make my reservation directly in the desk. He explained properly that the rules is to make online but I have a problem to confirm the transaction with the bank and he make quick and put me in the very good room. Vassil was also nice by listening my about my good experience in two hostels in Berlin. Extremely good. Alex helped in explaining where I can use my computer and also gave a short French lesson. thank you very much. have a blessed week. be well be with God.

Stayed here in early November , I booked a private double room. The bed was comfy and so were the pillows . The bathroom was also huge and very clean. The staff members were very helpful throughout the stay and also very friendly . The lockers are a reasonable price especially when you have a early flight and can’t check in till 3pm. The only let down was the breakfast but can’t complain as it was free !! I have booked here again for my next trip . I wish there was smoking rooms it was to cold to stand outside 😜

Positive: The location is amazing! Right in the middle of the bar quarter The staff is great The bar and restaurant downstairs are so cool and really cheap for Amsterdam standards. The special offers and the discounts are so good. Order the Nachos Grande they feed 3 adults and taste amazing. Negativ: there is no common area to meet others. The bar is big and there are more guests from outside than the Hostel and so you only meet the people in your room. You have to pay for luggage storage. And 5€ for 6 hours. So plan that into the costs if you intend to leave luggage there.

This hostel is in a great location, but a little pricier than some others. We liked that there was an in suite shower with adjustable temp and water pressure, and there was an in suite toilet as well. there was also a third sink provided to brush our teeth, and a seating area. unfortunately the beds had no privacy features, and the bedside lamps were so bright they were unusable. the lockers were good quality which we liked as well, and the hostel provides a 25% discount at the built in restaurant! The only other issue is there didn't seem to be a good designated space to eat or store outside food.

Absolutely amazing place to stay! Would definitely go back. Very sociable and easy to make friends. However rooms do get quite hot in the summer but a fan is provided! Bathrooms were super clean and beds were very comfy. Would recommend to anyone :)

Simple but clean room, small clean bathroom. Bed was good. I had no breakfast, no time for that. A good hotel for that price and the staff is young and friendly. Location perfect when visiting Amsterdam for pleasure. I had to work 100mtr from the hotel so for me it was a perfect solution. See you next time.

Looking for a quiet place to unwind while discovering the city? Whoa, you've picked the wrong place -- the Winston will put you at the very heart of where the party's at, so this will be the perfect spot to crash, exhausted, in the wee hours of the morning. It can be quite comfortable, too, with quite decent hotel rooms, as this isn't purely a hostel (this is what we had. The rooms are basic, but clean and modern, with a typical size for European inner city hotels). But you shouldn't expect any quiet until past midnight -- if you weren't intending to get a lot of sleep anyhow, then go right ahead, this is the place you've been looking for! We checked-in late during one of the busier nights of the year, and the experience was amazing. Elbowing our way through the crowded bar where the party was raging and spirits were high, we checked in with a friendly giant Slavic bouncer type and his band of wonderfully odd friends. Both the staff and the guests tend to be loveable oddballs, if this suits you, you'll feel right at home. As for me, it was the closest I came to spending a week in a William Gibson novel, and it's a memory I'll cherish for the years to come. Never change, St Christopher's. (Addendum: Do I really need to add this isn't optimal for families with small kids? It isn't. There's a time and place for everything, this isn't a family hotel. Treat your teenagers to a room there when they turn 18)

Had a private room, (not a backpacker room) cleanliness and condition of room were very poor considering the high price paid for the accommodation,WiFi didn’t work in the room, would have to travel down stairs to use it. Bedding had large brown stains on the mattress under a thin sheet. Pillows were also large square pillows that were uncomfortable, normal standard pillows not provided. Good central location, Belushi’s bar down stairs has a very good atmosphere and great food, staff in the bar and reception were friendly. Just the room condition for the price was extremely disappointing.

  • 4/5 Ludmila G. 8 months ago on Google
Very nice location in the centre of Amsterdam. Many stairs to go through to access the room but it wasn’t a problem since we had backpacks. The towels were changed every day and the bathroom was really clean. The floor of the room could have been a bit cleaner though. Our room was sadly very loud during the night and in the morning when the street was getting cleaned.

Some of the staff was a bit rude. They weren’t friendly nor welcoming at checkin. They have laundry but only one washing machine and one dryer for the entire place. They have lockers but you have to rent them; max about €6 Big and spacious bar but no work or common room areas

I wanted to love this hostel but it fails on so many aspects that I wouldn’t recommend this hostel. In fact, I would label it as a bar/restaurant with rooms and not a hostel. There’s no common area / kitchen for hostel guests, if you are staying in a dorm then the only place to go is their bar/restaurant which is open to non-hostel guests so it is often full and guests can’t get a table. You’re unable to bring your own food and drinks which is normal for a bar/restaurant however there’s no other area for hostel guests to eat/drink. There’s also no kitchen. The pool table costs money. The only thing that was free was the earplugs and I’m assuming that’s because it was so unbelievably loud at night. The lockers were unavailable and they told us to store our luggage back at Central station. The room smelt really off and the only smoking area was outside in the bar terrace area, which was often full with people from outside the hostel. The location is great and that’s the only positive about this ‘hostel’ Overall, it fails as a hostel in its basic function but it excels well as only a bar/restaurant.

Seriously WOW. Everything I experienced here or thanks to this hostel was first class. This place will stay in my heart and will remind me of true Amsterdam spirit forever. Absolutely the best hostel I've ever visited (didn't visit many honestly). If you're open being, I am sure you'll have some really memorable times here. Enjoy. P.S. The only complain from people I heard was weak breakfast. Didn't try it, I like to go with my tastes but nobody's experience was ruined by this one factor. I mentioned it at the reception as friendly advice and they really wanted to hear what I've got to tell them. A lot of respect, good luck.

One of my favourite bars in Amsterdam central. Like it as it sells Jupiler as well. The Belushi's restaurant part of it does very nice food as well. I've had lots of the menu here and highly recommend it. Stay clear of the street sellers on the street outside though. Staff very nice at this place and prices are reasonable for the area as well.

  • 3/5 Brian C. 4 months ago on Google
Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is mediocre. Not great for solo traveler trying to meet new people. No organized events. They just tell you to hang out at the bar. If you like drinking and partying and staying up all night then this is an amazing spot. Great location for party scene.

  • 5/5 Anny H. 2 years ago on Google
The proper backpackers experience. Bar and restaurant in the front (Belushi’s) that you get specials/discounts on drinks and food when you stay at the Hostel, which was lively from 8pm-2am. Even though the hostel is above and beside it, couldn’t hear it from our room on the first floor. Clean toilet and shower plus they came through to clean daily and give you fresh towels. Reception was super friendly and it’s located close to virtually everything in downtown Amsterdam ❤️ Definitely plan to come back and would stay here again.

Perfect for a solo female traveller. One bathroom per two rooms but toilet and shower is separate and every room has a sink inside, very handy. Bed and the bedding are super clean an comfy. Amazing bar with garden area. Lovely security guy always watching out for harassers and jumping into action straight away, not that there are many. If you are a solo female, this is a place for you. Thanks for a lovely stay and can't wait to be back.

  • 5/5 Mackenzie A. 2 years ago on Google
Loved staying here. Met great friends that created an amazing traveling experience. You get fabulous discounts at Belushi’s bar & restaurant (popular bar in downstairs lobby) if you book direct. Good price and very clean rooms. Extremely Friendly staff, very helpful and accommodating. Made me feel welcome, even helped me carry my heavy bag upstairs when I arrived very late in the night. Perfect for solo/female travelers and close to all the action you could want in Amsterdam. Will be staying here whenever I visit again. The dark haired woman who often runs the front desk is very kind and accommodating.

Crooks. Stay away. No refund given due to Government COVID restrictions. Was unable to travel there but they still were fine with keeping my money. Pretty disappointing on top of a canceled trip that was not my choice. Pathetic really.

I would recommend this hostel in Amsterdam for its super location. In my opinion, you coudn’t be located any better! The simple hostel is clean, and had everything needed for a short stay on a city trip. However, it was a bit older and not that big.

  • 5/5 Francis W. 2 years ago on Google
The hostel is very centrally located, in walking distance to the main train station and Amsterdam's most famous tourist attractions, the room was clean and the bar is a great addition. Apart from the tourists staying at the hostel, you can meet locals at the bar who pop in to have afternoon/evening drinks. The manager was very helpful when my friend and I had a challenge accessing our room after a late night out in the city. I hope to be back here next time and certainly recommend booking with them.

Good management. Fun place. Not the best systems though. If you want to change your reservation for any reason do so immediately… do not rely on verbal assurances of management - will back fire. Extremely loud and noisy on 6th floor. Bring ear plugs. Not a place for children.

  • 3/5 Ebby M. 2 years ago on Google
The price of a private room is extremely reasonable for the centre of Amsterdam. The ensuite bathroom smelt a bit funny but the bedroom was clean and comfortable. The breakfast included in the price was typical Dutch of average bread and cheese slices. I think the breakfast could be greatly improved and I would rather just pay elsewhere for breakfast so it is not really an attraction. I would recommend if you are just looking for a basic room for a couple of nights in a very convenient area in Amsterdam.

  • 4/5 Laura G. 2 years ago on Google
We spent 3 nights in a share room for 8. We knew all each other but if it had been different the room would have been too small to share with strangers. Anyway the hostel it’s really clean and the bar at ground floor full of people and lively! A nice place where to drink a beer. If you don’t have the breakfast included you can always add it every morning by paying 5 euro

  • 5/5 Ahmad R. 2 years ago on Google
Till now everything is going really well, customer service is quite nice they try their best to clarify anything you need, the room was cleanen and tidied, also it kinda looks cool from the inside. It has a nice balcony to smoke on. The Inn itself is cozy and near everything you'd like to go to, still haven't tried the bar or the food though, I'll give an update to the review as soon as I'm finished.

St Christopher's is a nice party hostel. They have a great bar and restaurant with cheap happy hour drinks. It's centrally located near the Red Light District.

  • 5/5 Pia W. 2 years ago on Google
Very clean rooms, nice staff and if you book with them directly, breakfast is included and you eat and drink cheaper at the bar downstairs. Would be nice to have sort of a lounge area (inside) where single travellers can meet and chat.

The hostel is right on central location and walkable from dam square, the Amsterdam central station and also to red light area. I had taken place in 6 mix bed dorm and the rooms were cleaned on daily basis. Below the hostel there is a restaurant and pub.we had our breakfast buffet for 5 euros and the vibe at night was great. Good and affordable place to stay. You also have lockers to keep your bags for hourly basis.

This was a great place to stay! The Hostel was clean and the beds were so comfortable. The staff was also very nice. It’s such a good location being minutes from the red light district and only 20 minutes to the Heineken brewery and Van Gough museum. I absolutely suggest staying here when heading to Amsterdam!

I had the absolute best stay at St Christopher’s in Amsterdam. The staff is beyond friendly, the room stayed clean, and it’s in the best location. I have to give it to my home Gworl Alba who works in the morning at the bar. She truly made my trip so special. She is so accommodating and helpful. She makes the best oat milk cappuccino’s so make sure you get your coffee fix from her. I’ll be back because of her! Also Peggy at the front desk is such a sweet heart. She really made me feel at home with her calm presence.

Me and my partner booked a private double room for one night. If you're looking for a place to rest it's ok-ish. Staff is very friendly and let us check in before the usual time. The good thing about the hostel is the central location and the bar and the discounts they offer for their guests. Booking from their website straight away, you also get breakfast and their coffee machine is really good. Our room was clean and the shower (even if small) good. However it has a few downs: the bed is really small for two people and the walls are really thin-you hear a lot....and the lights in the room are way too bright.

  • 5/5 alice f. 2 years ago on Google
It's a great Inn, very central, their beds are very comfortable, everything is clean and they even have a Pub on the ground floor. The only thing is if you is a light sleeper there is a church close by so every half hour the bells jingles, the hotel do over free ear plugs tho so it shouldn't be much of a problem.

  • 5/5 Jacobi A. 2 years ago on Google
It was my first hostel experience and I must say it delivered in every way. I was on my first solo adventure and I was nervous about the trip. St. Christopher’s Inn made it extremely easy to check in, it was an extremely cheap and it was in the heart of downtown Amsterdam. I could walk everywhere and didn’t need to use any other forms of transportation. The food and drink specials downstairs also made it easy to meet other people staying at the hostel. I made 4 or 5 new friend while I was there for 2 nights. I will forsure be staying there again in my next visit to Amsterdam!

The hostel was great! Good value for your money, it can’t be any more centric. The dorms are clean and have their own shower and toilet. The common area was lively, so a great space to meet people, and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. Also, if you book through their website you get free breakfast which was a very welcome addition.

This place is amazing! Staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is brilliant. The music in the bar is good and it has a brilliant atmosphere to sit and have a few drinks. Our room was small but perfect, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean witch is just what you want. This place is in a brilliant location its very central

The service here was amazing I arrived after 22 hours of travelling and when i went to check in they informed me I had booked a women’s dorm, not a men’s. This was completely my carelessness, however the receptionist worked really hard to ensure I had a place to stay, I was lucky they had a spare room open, but they had every right to deny me yet went above and beyond to ensure i had a room. Room itself was very clean and the bedding was fresh.

Great hostel! The bar is really fun (the best music too). The reception staff are wonderful. Rooms are fine and had no concerns around safety. Only annoyance is the cleaning staff who practically yell each other in Spanish at 8am every morning, because the the rooms have very little soundproof, it’s super loud.

  • 4/5 Ticco R. 1 year ago on Google
The location was very central, and is walking distance from many of the main attractions in downtown Amsterdam. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Amsterdam Centraal station, and about a block away from the Red Light District (not my cup of tea, but for those that enjoy it, you won't be far away). The staff were courteous and helpful, and very hard-working. I'd like to give a shout out to Ramon, who while very young was a very hard worker and helped keep others on task. I do recommend ear plugs (free at reception), as depending on where your room is it can get loud from the bar/club on the weekends. The church bells are also loud! You can get food at Belushi's, and it's 25% off, but I found it MUCH more economical to simply go to the supermarket down the street to get food that you need, as well as water and drinks. Lastly, if the hostel had a common area/hang out space that was not the bar, it would be awesome. Sometimes I wanted to hang out, but not necessarily in the bar. Overall, a very positive stay and I would certainly stay again if I'm ever back in Amsterdam! Thank you for a wonderful and comfortable stay.

Such a fabulous hostel. Comfy and clean beds, genuinely friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast (cereals, breads, eggs, and cheese), as well as food and drink offers. There was also free WiFi and the food itself was really tasty (try the vegan bitterballen)! Will be recommending to others and would happily stay there again in the future. My one tip to the hostel, should they see this, a hook or 2 in the bathroom would be really handy for hanging towels/clothes.

Very good location, central and where you want to be. Downstairs bar and restaurant are very good. The private en-suite room I got had everything I needed. No air conditioner, only fan in room.

Overall great hostel! Front desk is very hospitable and friendly! Rooms, showers are clean and comfortable. Location is great, as you donn’t have to walk that much from the train station and when you are in hostel, all the attractions are very close. Also, they have amazing bar on the first floor. Highly recommend to stay there!
