Your booking (even if you already paid ) will be removed by the hotel! don't book the hotel! My booking was removed by the hotel! After booked this hotel on hotels.com , and 2days before the stay,I called the hotel to double check.A male receptionist checked my name and 'yes, we have your booking with breakfast'. After 20min walk and arrived at the hotel at 9pm (I didn't eat dinner yet, I was so hungry). The young female receptionist says ' we don't have your reservation'. I told her everything like booking number, my full name,I even told her I already confirmed by her colleague on Thursday 8pm and I asked her to check with him, she was so arrogant  and said " I can't call my colleague because he's at his home now and I don't want to disturb him.I've never heard of 'hotels.com', so may be the website is fake website'" she said !!!! She was so arrogant and tried to do nothing for me. I asked her ' can I talk to manager?' she said ' I am a manager.'. So it was the end of the world. I ended up negotiate with her for one hour. I was so starving. and I  ended up to book a new booking! of course she didn't know if I could get refund. When I looked google review of the hotel, There are some people who experienced the same as mine! Their booking was also missed on booking.com etc. and they said it might be on purpose to let us book a new reservation by the latest higher price.   So please don't book the hotel otherwise you'll have to fight against the 'manager' for an hour after your tiring long trip!

The hotel does not deserve any stars! In one word my experience is " PATHETIC"!!! This hotel costed us 150 euros per night and I literally feel robbed after staying here. The receptionist is rude and inconsiderate. There is no water bottle given in the rooms. The rooms are ridiculously small and the bathroom is even smaller. The floor passage stinks everytime you walk out of the room. The staff expects us to drink from the bathroom sink but the sink is so small that the cup given actually sits on the sink bottom to be filled. On complaining the staff asked us to go for a better hotel and its not their concern that we are having concerns. If you are coming to Amsterdam then I would recommend you to please NOT book this hotel. There are far more better hotels at cheaper rates available. Even hostels are better than this I would stay. Its my worst experience in Europe and would highly recommend skipping this hotel while booking for your amsterdam trip.

Very nice staff, but let's face it, you're paying for a 90cm wide bed that is so light it moves when you sit down. I felt the springs inside the overused mattress all over my body. Despite my attempts to understand this as a yoga exercise, it did not spark joy. One look at the room informed me that I will need alcohol to survive the workweek and that's bad for my performance. This hotel is making me sad and unless they invest into real beds. Do not book this depression nest.

Hard, uncomfortable and painful beds, we had to complain after the first night. Then we were given a new room where the beds were a little better but they were still hard and uncomfortable. You can feel the steel springs in the mattress stabbing you in the back. In addition, the doors are poorly insulated, which means that you hear a lot of noise from the hallway. We woke up several times in the night and morning by people talking in the corridors, as well. that the cleaning staff vacuumed the hallway early in the morning. The walking distance to the metro is about 10 minutes. You can find better hotels in Amsterdal at same price which is better and more central. But a plus is the staff, they are nice and friendly.

Worst hotel ever been to. Didn’t find our booking, unclean in the corridor’s, not competent hotel manger was the worst, once when check out, she wanted to charge us another rate then we had on the booking confirmation. Also coming up with the rates changed since then…and and..long story..also just having two persons by check-out knowing there is a big event and a lot of guests in the hotel…

Apparently Zero Stars isn’t an option. Booked 6 weeks ago via bookin.com for a two night stay, for a work conference. After a full day with an early flight from the UK I headed to the hotel to check in. On arrival I was told that Booking.com had cancelled my reservation an hour before my arrival. When I questioned how that was possible the manager just shrugged and said it wasn’t something she could sort and suggested I call them to find out why. Quick call to Booking.com and they confirmed my booking with them was still active so not a problem their end, after several unhelpful conversations I received an email from booking confirming that the hotel had cancelled my reservation because they had overbooked. When I put this to the manager she said there was nothing she could do as they were fully booked. Shameful disgraceful service and absolutely zero customer service. Interestingly 3 others had the same issue but looking on their website they were offering the rooms out at double the original price, which suggests the cancellations weee purely out of greed.

Staff were very friendly and as helpful as they could be, however the room felt like it was designed by someone who hadn't ever stayed in a hotel. In a twin room we couldn't sit up in bed as both of us had a sharp metal light fixture low down on the wall, right where your head would be. There's nowhere to put anything down in the bathroom besides the floor, and not a lot of space for a suitcase to be left open. The TV in the room says on one of its picture slides "if you want a kettle for the room, just ask for one". So we did, to be told (very politely) that they couldn't hand us a kettle as more than three in use at once and it takes out the hotels whole electrics... right then. Ok place I suppose for a night or two if on a budget and purely sleeping and then leaving for the day, but I would seek out other places to stay if I went back to Amsterdam. Oh yes I almost forgot. There's basically no pedestrian access? You have to cross a fast main road without a crossing to get to a footpath which takes you to the nearest public transport.

Close to Duivendrecht Metro to get into the city, Hotel Bastion Amstel was a great stay with an option for breakfast in the morning and great service. They have a vending machine too. Provided new towels each day and a great shower facility.

Dirty hotel. During our 2 day the common areas were never cleaned. The main elevator always had the same stains, junk and paper on the ground. For the room we first had a room occupied, then a room still to be cleaned and finally a room that looked clean but that had every corner and every surface full of dust and dirty. Bathroom not clean and with stain everywhere. For the price paid (460€) I expected not a luxury hotel but at least something that had better level of cleanliness than the street. Completely disappointed. Strongly Discouraged.

Beds were done, but personal belongings of previous tenant were present in the room on arrival. The hotel is placed between the highway and the railway. The best thing to say about this place is that it is easily accesible with a car. Price is not matching standard and service.

I stayed in the hotel for two days, the hotel is very dirty, the rooms were not clean at all, the hair dryer in the shower does not work and the lights in the room are not working, the lights in the elevator are not working It's a really bad place, I advise you not to go.Even one star is too much for this hotel.(mini bar was empty)

Quality of service very very poor. First night cold because I had to turn on a radiator from the previous century by twisting a gear. And we checked in at 21. Breakfast has nothing but fruit if you don't eat milk, egg and beacon. Location is next to a gas station open h24, railways, highways that makes it noisy and far from everything. My colleague found the sleepers of the previous guest in his room. A really bad experience for a pretty high price.

Bad customer service, the room had a broken shower and the location is not good for sb without a car. And last but not least, they charged us 40€ more at check out for tourist fees, that nobody had us for this earlier informed.

Not worth the price, it says deluxe, however it's a cheap feeling place. King-size bed deluxe room had two small beds, then they said will upgrade me and got the same type of room two floors higher. Could not get a kettle the whole time they promised it only. The bathroom was stinky af. Breakfast is not what you expect, they do omelette with ham and cheese, apparently it was not available ten days out of the 13 I spent there, they are not prepared. Really bad experience. Not going again

Good hotel to stay in short periods. Great option because of the free parking and it’s close to the tram. Breakfast ist just 9€ and the service is good. I will most definitely come back. FYI no air conditioning. Other than that it’s very good.

Terrible location and visitors. This is a two star motel for workers. Tourist and businesses people better avoid! Dealers on every corner, you won’t feel safe! Bathroom and room cleaning is terrible and outdated. Beds are disaster!

The AC wouldn’t stay turned off but would it turn back on right after turning it off because it was way too cold. The Wi-Fi was terrible. We were not able to use our devices with the WiFi as nothing would load. Could have been cleaner! Breakfast was good even though we were told at the check in breakfast would be until 10:30 and in the restaurant they told us at 9.00 that they are about to close the buffet. Way too expensive for what you get.

Excellent service support and kindness during my recent stays in September. The team here are funny knowledgeable and really added value to my experience. Especially the ladies I spoke to on 28.09.23 at 12pm at reception. 👏

Booked 3 rooms last minute after our flight was cancelled. One of them was not even made up and had to be changed. The man at reception was incompetent and got irate trying to process a simple bill for food. His incompetence would’ve been acceptable if not for his attitude. Probably would’ve got a better service sleeping at the airport.

    1. The staff was really helpful at the difficult times. 2. But there's complacency at the normal check in times 3. The location is good for young explorers. It's located near the ring road and a 10 min walk from three metro stations. 4. The area around is safe although it looks shady. We had a great stay. It's an expensive place, but everything in Amsterdam is expensive ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Table and bed lamps didn't work in the room. However it was cozy and clean, the staff was friendly and helpfull. Good beer at the bar.

I came to Amsterdam for a 3 day business conference from June 6th to 8th 2023. The hotel was close to the conference venue, the RIA, what was very convenient. By taxi, RIA could be reached in just 10 minutes. Or a couple of stops on the subway. The room is clean, clean and warm bed, housekeeping every day, changed towels. The staff is very friendly and hospitable, helped and answered questions. A kettle was provided upon request. I was pleasantly pleased that the water in Amsterdam is very clean - you can drink it straight from the tap. Apparently, therefore, there are no usual bottles of water in the room as a compliment from the hotel. Of the cosmetics in the bathroom was only shampoo. Therefore, you need to take everything you need with you (including slippers). From equipment in the room there is safe, refrigerator, telephone, TV, hairdryer and coffee machine with 2 coffee capsules. If the windows overlook the railway, then get ready for the fact that it will be noisy and stock up on earplugs. The restaurant is open until 22:00, the cuisine is delicious, and there is no room service. The elevator can only be used with a room key card. In general, I liked staying and it was comfortable. I was very lucky to have such a good hotel during a huge international conference in the city, when all the hotels were booked in advance. I lived in a room with two single beds instead of one large - but these are trifles :)

Super Service, cost free parking in garage, clean rooms, big bathroom. 10 min to Metro and 15 min to Amsterdam Centraal Station.

I stayed for 4 nights and 1. The safe box in my room didn't work, on my first day I asked to fix it or to provide me with access to a different one - the receptionist said that their manager would be able to help and asked if i were ready to wait for 3.5 hours - I wasn't. Then she said she would talk to the manager and it would be fixer. Should I say it had not been fixed by the 4th day when I was living? 2. I lived on the first floor, first room from the dining room. On Saturday and Sunday, there was a crowd of people with cigarettes and beer - laughing, smoking, drinking. It was veeery loud. On Friday, those people stayed until almost midnight, and on Saturday - ~until 00:30. The receptionist said she was very sorry for my experience. 3. There is no tea in the room, coffee only and even coffee is not renewed daily. Overall, for that sum of money, you'd better look for something else!

Very easily accessible by car from ring road 10, exit 11, large underground parking, outdoor parking as well, an ok location for Amsterdam. 6 metro stations from the center! Reception staff very welcoming! In terms of cleanliness, it's a bit bad, but for a short stay it's ok. Another disturbing aspect is that the hotel bar opens at 17:00! In total 3 stars would be correct for this location!

Decent hotel but was pricy for what it offered. I ended up staying here because my flight was cancelled out of AMS and it's the only hotel I could find in the area for under €300. The room was standard, but kept in good condition. Check-in was quick and the clerk was courteous and friendly. The area is not very convenient, with the only close source of food being either the petrol station grocery or a McDonald's.

This review is mainly about the staff. All staff is very friendly, helpful and polite but Elias from the night staff was extremely helpful and caring when trying to help me with a personal situation. He went above and beyond his role at the hotel and helped me solve an issue. Thank you Elias. Overall the hotel is a little outdated but rooms are clean and with what is needed to have a good night rest. The train station is 10-15 min walk but with great staff.

At first glance the architecture of the hotel is not the best, but the lobby and the dining area are very nice; in the hall there is also a reading area. The rooms are comfortable, with very comfortable beds and pillows, equipped with TV (including many TV channels from around the world in many languages), window and air conditioning. The bathroom is nice, but it doesn't have a bidet. For Italian tourists: among the hostesses there is an Italian girl, very good, kind and willing to help you too. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, not far from the center (about 6 km), with the metro station close by. The breakfast and the menu are quite expensive: the breakfast is buffet style, the menu includes many Dutch foods. For those who love electronic music (EDM), the hotel is located opposite the record company of superstar DJ Martin Garrix, the "STMPD RCRDS"! Greetings from Vasto (CH)!

Firstly, we stayed three nights in Bastion Hotel in Rotterdam. We chose this hotel because of free parking. It's much cheaper compared to the others and rooms are nice. The hotel in Amsterdam is newer compared to the one in Rotterdam. Stuff is very professional, with perfect English and very nice. I would recommend these Hotels to everyone.

The staff who work there are not friendly and the cleaning lady dont ask about what can stay and not stay in the room. A staff come to our door and look in the room for any thing what are against their rules. Their checking is really weird is like 11am but if you call then you can check out later.

  • 3/5 Prasanna B. 3 years ago on Google
Overall hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is bit far from the central place and tourist attractions. If you don't have personal car or vehicle staying in this hotel is punishment because metro station is far away and you will always have to walk to it. Apart from this drawback hotel is good.
