tl;dr: if you get the 3 course special, be prepared to eat A LOT. I have to admit we came to Tulsi because we couldn't get a table at another restaurant we wanted to eat at. It ended up being a good idea. The place was relatively full and we were asked if we had a reservation (didn't) so might be a good idea to indeed make one if you're planning in advance to eat there. There are a lot of items in the menu. It's quite hard to pick something in places that have extensive menus, so out of convenience I went with their 3 course special (one appetizer, one main dish and desert) for 32,50. Holy smacks on a hammock, did food come. At first, just three little samosas (crunchy, with a nice faint hint of spice). But then the main dishes came (two chicken jalfreezi) and it was immediately clear we wouldn't be able to handle it. It's just too much food. Wasteful, even, because I find it hard to believe two normal adults with regular appetites should be able to handle amounts of food that would be more adequate for a viking longhouse after-battle feast. Other than this, no complaints, really. Food was tasty. A fly decided to take a swim in my beer, but I don't blame the restaurant for this. There was also some confusion on their part when splitting the bill (please make this default all over the world, masters of the universe, or at least ask) but we managed to pay separately in the end. I would've frankly left happier if only there wasn't so much food, but I would still recommend the place.

Delicious and authentic! The dishes we ordered were 3 and 4 stars for spice level. They weren’t quite as spicy as we expected but the flavor was delicious. The mutton bhuna was bone-in and was a bit dry but everything else was great. We also ordered the chicken madras, the seekh kebab, and the highlight of the meal was the Tikka Hariyali starter. Will be back!

The best food in Amsterdam! Dal Bhukara was melt in the mouth! I would recommend it to everyone who wishes to have some soulful food in the city and specially Indians visiting Amsterdam. The ambiance is really beautiful as well and love the staff! We visited it every night during our stay at Amsterdam, and will be visiting again.

A Disappointing Dining Experience - Poor Service and Taste I recently dined at Tulsi Restaurant, and I regret to say that my experience was far from enjoyable. My grievances with both the food service and taste compel me to share this review as a word of caution to potential diners. From the moment I entered the restaurant, it was evident that the service left much to be desired. The waitstaff appeared disinterested and inattentive, which set a disappointing tone for the meal. Unfortunately, the issues did not stop there. When the food finally arrived, it was a letdown in both taste and presentation. The flavors were lackluster and failed to meet even modest expectations. Additionally, the dishes lacked the finesse and attention to detail one would hope for in a dining establishment. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend against visiting this Restaurant. The combination of subpar food service and disappointing taste make this restaurant an unsuitable choice for a pleasant dining experience. In conclusion, there are countless dining options available that offer better service and tastier fare. I hope this review serves as a valuable warning to potential patrons, urging them to explore other dining establishments that will provide a more enjoyable and satisfying meal.

Best Restaurant in Europe. Amazing taste, excellent service. I have been to Indian restaurants in many countries in the EU, but the taste here is exceptional. It is in real sense a complete Indian taste. I especially take extra hot as the level of spicy and they make it absolutely like that. Don't forget to try hot chicken wings, mutton bhuna, tangdi kebab it is very mouth watering. The ambience of the restaurant is very lively.

Spectacular ambiance with great food, service and taste. Tulsi has never disappointed me so far. Had an awesome experience while dining on a weekday yet full of customers but classic service. It was a Saturday night and it was jam packed restaurant. Still my food was on the table within reasonable time. Cheese Naan is delicious 😋 and their tandooris are worth spending money on. Highly recommended

Excellent food, great service, warm atmosphere!! We tried the non-vegetarian and vegetarian and we both really loved everything. The menu allowed us to try a bit of everything, and our waitress explained all the dishes. We especially appreciated the recommendations and discussion with Zara! We couldn't recommend it enough, it’s an amazing place to have tasty and authentic Indian food.

If I would go here again and could order one thing, it is the Dal Makhni. I haven’t had one that good since I was visiting India! In general the food is really quite great. The choices are a bit too much which can be a bit overwhelming though so I would suggest just order each course after the other and not all together and give thought to your next meal. The Tulsi Starter Mix non veg was a good selection. The samosas honestly were just okay, I have had a lot better. The Naan was fantastic, we tried the cheese and the one with lamb. The main was Bhatti Ka Chuza which is basically a small chicken, it is served on this hot plate, a little spicy and quite flavorful. With all the starters, 2 people can easily order one of these starters and perhaps complement it with a side dish, like the amazing Dal Makhni! Staff was really attentive and nice.

Ambience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Have been to Tulsi multiple times now. Food has been above average so far except for this last time when a Rawal Pindi Murg was ordered but it was smeared with green food colouring something I don’t appreciate. Also, every single time that I have visited the people serving the table seems to not carry a smile (it’s effortless you know and makes this world a better place).

This is best place for Indian cuisine. I have ordered panner karahi/kadai. Quantity of the food, aroma, taste was really good. I would recommend place if you looking for authentic Indian food. Just one note please don’t order panipuri I personally didn’t like but apart from this food was really yummy

One of the finest north indian restaurant. Expensive as compared to others but after eating at so many restaurants, no on comes near this restaurant. The food is pretty good overall. Unfortunately though like many other indian restaurant, desserts are not up to the mark, maybe because those are canned.

Been here multiple times and the food is good in general. Always used to order a la carte but this time i tried the thali and the food was too spicy. This was for both the veg and the non veg thali that was ordered by my dining mate. Moreover, it was quite expensive. Would definitely recommend sticking with a la carte, as i will in the future as well.

Really tasty curry and full of flavour. It was actually the nicest curry I’ve ever had. We had the Butter Chicken & Chicken Balti. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend if you are in Amsterdam.

The food was very good. The servers clearly don’t have any experience and I think that’s the only thing the restaurant could improve at, it’s a little messy because they lack of knowledge on how to talk with the client etc. If you don’t mind and just want to enjoy some good Indian food then the place it’s perfectly fine :)

Very nicely organised restaurant and it is good big gatherings. I had mix biriyani and it tastes good. Service seems to be okay, but can be improved with smile and greetings.

Whether I go with groups of friends or with family, the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a good Indian restaurant. This is the best Indian restaurant in Amsterdam. So glad a branch opened up in the center. They have the best and biggest menu . With really nice options. So glad it's not the same menu with boring options like every other Indian restaurant in NL

I’ve been here several times and the food was never matching expectations. The bhindi had too many onions and it was not that flavourful, the chole was quite bland, the dhal was the only dish that we actually liked. We also wanted to try deserts and my friends mentioned that from their previous experiences gulab jamun is not good at all. We decided for kulfi, which for me was slightly better than the other dishes. There were many small flies flying around our table which is quite unusual to experience in a restaurant.

On our trip to Amsterdam, we went there on someone's suggestion and we still thank them. Though there are many Indian restaurants around, we like this one the best. The quality and quantity of food is very good. And the people are even more amazing. We tried a lot of vegetarian dishes and all of them were superb.

Perfect place to have your lunch or dinner. Very tasty and yummy food, specially the Indian dishes. Ambience is very good with very well behaved staff and a very prompt service. We fully enjoyed our drinks and dinner. I can say, the best restaurant we came across in Amsterdam.

This indian place in Amsterdam is so good. I was living in the opposite Avenue hotel and gave it a shot and was never disappointed. I tried the lamb rogan josh and it was so good even the next day with an extra bowl of rice. The chciken kebab might not be the best but definitely flavourful for some indian food in Ams. ❤️

A really good restaurant in Amsterdam. We went on a family occasion and did booking in advance. The booking process was easy and we did it through the restaurant's website. Reaching the restaurant is not a difficult thing. You can reach by tram or by car. Paid Car parking is available in front of the restaurant. The food quality, cleanliness and ambience is good. Serving proportion and staff behavior is awesome. I didn't like the sweet dish. The service speed was slow and not sure why but they were reluctant to provide drinking water. Because of these two issues I am not rating it as a 5-star

Fantastic service. Prices are very reasonable. Comfortable chairs and pleasant ambience. Food portions are large and tasty. Presentation is a bit bland though and dishes lack inspiration.

The food here is amazing… my partner and I have ordered take out from them a bunch. Tonight we finally decided to dine in the restaurant and we’re pretty disappointed. There were a ton of flys around our food and face all night. They served us the wrong beers. And the food portions were way smaller than the equivalent to-go orders. The food still tasted amazing… but let’s just say I’ll never be dining in the physical restaurant again.

Beautiful ambiance, excellent food and poor hygiene. We use the napkin to wipe our mouth , sneeze in it or even blow our nose when the food is spicy what I noticed the 2 ladies working in restaurant just using the used napkin and cleaning the table that disgust me max then we decided to take away some of the leftovers she simply stack the empty rice plate on the food that we requested to take away...

Great Indian restaurant in Amsterdam. The smells, the colours and the friendly atmosphere in the restaurant reminded me very much of my trip to India some years ago. This time we had a delicious three course menu: Starters: - Veggie Samosa: vegetable blend, onions and potatoes in the dough. - Onion Bhaji: small onion balls tied together with lightly spiced gram flour batter. Mains: - Dal Makhni: lentils with butter, onions, garlic and ginger. - Paneer Jalfrezi: typical Indian dish made with homemade cottage cheese, capsicum, onions, ginger, tomatoes and herbs. - Saag Paneer: homemade cheese cooked in spinach. Desert: Kulfi Pistachio ice cream. Would recommend!
