HORRIBLE. Do not go here! Owner knows almost no English! We asked about prices for 10 minutes and got no where. He finally just brought out drinks that ended up being more expensive than we discussed. We asked for water and he brought out refilled and used plastic bottles! The food was average and portions were very small. One of my friends dishes looked uncooked as well. One of my friends speaks Italian and could communicate or else we might have been screwed over more. The owner also made up some fake story about Barack Obama eating there in hopes of trying to sell us more things. The place was filthy and I cannot even imagine what the kitchen looked like... My advice: never, ever go to La Tosca!

Very tasty pasta, both the tagliatelle and the spaghetti. Simple dishes but the sauces are just nice. The chef looks grumpy but he really isn't, very friendly gentleman. Also, has pet-friendly outdoor seating.

Should i make a list how disgusting was everything?! The place is shame, really old and a dirty, the kitchen very small. The owner doesn't speak English at all, luckily i m italian but even speaking the same language was terrible talking with him. He is really rude, giving us a bad service like he had no time for us (only 2 more costumers in the restaurant). The food... Please, i want underline i m italian: his food is a shame. The pasta is obviously precooked. We ordered 3 different pasta. One with meat, one with seafood and i took a vegetarian. All of them were cooked basically with the same sause. No taste at all. My 'pomodoro e basilico' was without basil and with cheese! Totally wrong!!! I m really disappoint . He not even mix the pasta with the sauce.The prices are really expensive. And please pay attention if you order still water, he use to open the bottle ad fill you glass.. I m pretty sure than he refill the bottle from the tap at the end of the service!!! If you want eat italian, or any other good food.. Stay away from this place!!

Nice little hole in the wall! Authentic Italian cuisine and atmosphere. Just want to point out that the other reviews are severely extreme. Probably never even tried traditional authentic Italian. The owner spoke enough English to get the idea across. And his ravioli is his specialty!

This restaurant is not worth visiting! The food is mediocre, and the portions are small. Additionally, the chef or owner has a very grumpy attitude. One of the dishes lacked flavor and was not worth the 15 euros. After engaging in a lengthy conversation with the chef, we were eventually exempted from paying, but it required considerable effort. Furthermore, the prices listed on the menu did not match the amount we were asked to pay. All things considered, it was not a worthwhile experience, and I highly recommend trying a different restaurant.

I really enjoyed the food. Others have had bad experiences here but I liked it. The food was good and the delivery was quick. If I didn’t know how to speak Italian, I am not sure my friends and I would have survived. The man seemed very nice and was running the whole place by himself while we were there. I am not sure he wore gloves when he cooked food and he didn’t have on a hair net. The water came in open bottles which was weird. He had one employee who was a woman who sat in the back and didn’t help. He also told me stories about Batak Obama eating there but he didn’t have any pictures. My friends didn’t enjoy the portions and thought it costed a bit too much. I was satisfied but overall it could have been better

This is the real deal. Authentic northern Italian family cooking, even family house wine. The chef is the kindest man who is delighted to share his family’s fresh recipes. Even the wine is so fresh and gentle. I guessed that the handwritten daily menu outside was a good indicator that each plate would be made with care and attention, and I was right. Be polite, and the owner will go out of his way for you. Stepping just barely outside the touristy area of Amsterdam yields wonderful authentic foods. I can’t rave enough.

The pizzas were great, we really did have a great experience here and the staff, owner, (im assuming) was very sweet and accommodating.

The owner is an old grumpy with bearly any english knowledge. He is also the cook. We asked for the size of the pizzas and want to share one, but we were told that everyone must order their own food. So we ended ordered three different pizzas. The pizza dough was very thin and the pizzas at all were not tasty at all. They were made from very low quality ingredients. The prize was also to high for this very low quality. After all this place is not recommended and it was the worst pizza we ever had.

After 15 minutes of waiting the waitresss lady came to take our order (she hadn’t given us any menu earlier 😅) Overcooked pasta which I saw in other reviews is not that rare, olives with SEED on my pizza!! (Don’t forget I had two olives on my entire pizza 😂) I don’t temmomend this place, if only they even pretend they were sorry.. I had to pay for the meal of course. 1/10

The owner was impolite to us. He was loud and not friendly at all. He didn't like that i wanted to share a pizza with my wife. He said that everyone who sit down should order his own food.

The location may not seem a lot from outside but everything is done in-house and the taste is AMAZINNG!

Real Italian food! Such a gezellig restaurant, the owner does it all by himself, Fillipe was very friendly to us and even asked what languages we speak to communicate better, so in between dutch, english, spanish, italian and portuguese, we had no problem understanding each other. Some reviews here were really extreme giving that he is just an elderly italian… And the pizza was really good, the sauce and the flavors was on point! Definitely going back there to try the fresh tiramisu.

The only Italian restaurant you should dine with in Amsterdam. Don Filippo is hands on and keeps everything fresh. Make sure you find him and tell him Don Vito sent you.

Had an amazing dinner here while on vacation! Fillipo was a very kind and gracious host. Pasta was fresh and incredibly delicious. Was extremely surprised to find the restaurant as empty as it was given the great food. Pricing was more than fair and a good deal more affordable than many other spots in Amsterdam with food not even comparable to Fillipo's. Don't listen to other negative reviews! I will definitely be coming back the next time I am in Amsterdam.

Nice place and delicious food. The gentleman who served us is originally Italian, the pasta is homemade, wonderful!! It is worth it! They could do more advertising, because it's really good!
