The convenience of the location cannot be understated. Situated right in the heart of Amsterdam, near the bustling Amstel area, it’s easily accessible whether you’re a local or a visitor. The gym is clean and well-maintained, and the staff is generally friendly and helpful. One of the highlights for me is the variety of equipment available. Whether you’re into cardio, strength training, or functional workouts, Basic-Fit Amstelstraat has you covered. The gym’s layout is well thought out, and there’s usually a good availability of machines, even during peak hours. The membership pricing is reasonable, especially considering the central location. The online portal for booking classes and managing your membership is user-friendly and efficient. Plus, the gym offers a good range of classes to cater to different fitness preferences. While the facilities are generally well-equipped, there have been instances of overcrowding during busy times, which can be a bit frustrating. Additionally, it would be great to see more attention given to cleanliness during peak hours. All in all, Basic-Fit Amsterdam Amstelstraat is a solid choice for anyone looking for a conveniently located gym in the heart of Amsterdam. It offers a good range of equipment, classes, and reasonable pricing. Just be mindful of potential peak-hour crowds.

The gym is fine. Quality-price is good. Main problem are the actual customers, many of them never tidy after themselves, leaving the deadlift bar with 80 kg on each side for a 50kg girl to use afterwards it’s rather insolent. Would be great if these people would get called out by personnel.

Good gym in the center of Amsterdam. They have the average generic machines but is true that they could have a bit more. Ive been waiting to Train on a specific one and was busy all the time. Large changing room and cardio area. It seems clean the times I visited. Shame it closes super early on the weekend, so at 4pm bye bye... it's closed. For the rest is like any other average gym.

1/5 They don't respect the end of the contract period and keep deducting money from your account. This has happened to me and to others as well. Seriously, do NOT become a member of Basic-Fit. Once you install their app and connect your bank account, it is impossible to get rid of the monthly payments.

I went here with my friend. We paid for day pass. When we were inside, we realized that you need to bring your own lock. A cleaner / staff member said that there's no locks in sale on Saturday and we're not allowed to carry our bags in the gym. We left the gym...

Rock bottom gym, avoid at all cost. NO hot running water for months, water in men's toilet flushes continuously for ages now, no toilet seat. Very dirty and shabby gym. Staff doesn't seem interested in resolving any of the issues. The only plus is the location, center of Amsterdam.

Don't feel safe. Homeless people are sleeping behind the machines.

The place is open 24/7 and understaffed. Often it is outright dirty. More and more broken machines that take months to be repaired. I dont understand why BF does not spend just a bit more to at least keep the place decent.

SCAM! BEWARE! This gym is just a moneygrabber and treats their customers in a horrible way. I have used this gym one week while visiting Amsterdam for holidays. I paid the month in full (no problem with that) and then cancelled my account via email. The contract allowed the contract to be cancelled via email. Despite this, they have kept asking me for money for three months. Again, I have used the gym for 1 week, paid my month in full, duly cancelled and after 3 months I keep receiving monthly charges. Please do not use this gym.

Excellent basic fit with vending machine for something to eat or drink if you forgot to take something with you, especially nice and quiet later in the evening

This gym is a bit of a mess. Boiler breaks often, leaving the gym without hot water, sometimes for weeks, very often without any warning posted at the entrance so you find out about that after getting all sweaty and when needing a shower. Equipment breaks and/or disappears without getting replaced. The flush mechanism of one of the toilets in the men's bathroom gets stuck and flushes constantly wasting a lot of water, it has been like this for months and they still have not fixed it....etc. Basically the only good thing I can say about this gym is that is cheap and that the machines are rarely broken.

Great studio. Since we had previously been to Brussels and were already satisfied with the price-performance ratio, we also visited this place regularly in Amsterdam. Great studio with all the equipment you need.

Very bad GYM. No cleanliness, no respect for the trainees. Missing parts from the devices for two months. Complaints were ignored. I do not recommend joining to Basic fit

What the gym offers in terms of equipment is good. However for a tourist who wants to buy a daypass must need a credit card with a pay wave option Cause they don't accept cash

It's a good, and cheap, gym. Never had any issues with the staff, but its true that sometimes we hear the front door bell ring a lot since they are busy with other tasks. Showers do get messy but, from my experience, it's the clients who are to blame (Shampoo bottles, etc... left around) If something gets broken, it might take a few days to get fixed, but they will get to it eventually (except the urinal... it's been out of order for at least 3-4 month...).

Have you just completed a workout and want a drink of water but forgot your water bottle? Too bad. Stick your head in the bathroom sink and slurp, because there is no water fountain here. Alternatively you can pay tourist prices for drinks from the machine. Are you an international and are unable to download the basic fit app but you already paid for a subscription? Too bad. You just now have to pay €20 for a β€œphysical pass” because somehow - getting into the facility is your responsibility to figure out. Are you on the treadmill and want to get some work done while you walk? Too bad. Wi-Fi doesn’t work. Want to try your phone data? Also too bad. There is little to no service in the building. Good luck πŸ‘πŸ»

Nice place with surprisingly much space. Especially the free weights area (I think 8 benches). Rarely need to wait for doing an exercise.

Nice little gym that has everything needed for a workout. One time use is 9 Euros, and three times is 25 Euros. Easy ins and outs, and it's opened 24 hours. Good options for tourists like myself.

So small compared to other branches, many broken machines and some machines doesn't even exist, so crowded and the toilets are really dirty all the time, but I like the window view.

😠 Unfortunate to see my favourite gym constantly in disrepair. Often taking weeks to months before simple issues are fixed. Cleanliness is also not as it used to be - WCs become disgusting later in the day. Calling customer support wasn’t helpful so I thought I’d post my complaints here.
