I understand they need to make money but they oversell tickets to a point where you cannot enjoy or experience the art. Try to go during a pandemic or when others won’t be going. Otherwise it’s a bit frustrating and underwhelming. People shoving and hoarding views. And if they are going to overbook they should at least make tickets less expensive. Too expensive for the experience you get. I was excited to visit this space. But disappointed when I left. Not a ton of Banksy but a few. The room with the stained glass ceilings was nice. A few interactive pieces but to download an app for 2-3 pieces seems kind of annoying -just have a mechanism in the room to enjoy without downloading.

Visited the museum years ago and wasn’t a big fan. However I visited again this year and I really liked it. There was some new things which was interesting and beautiful to see. I specifically liked the infinity room and the futuristic woman. Would definitely recommend!

Great museum. A jewel. A good place to get an introduction to contemporary art. I really enjoy the variety of exhibits and the very high quality of art that it on display. It is quite a friendly and compact place and they use every space and stair case to show the art in unique settings.

Must visit it with a very open mind. Unfortunately the audio tour doesn't offer much. The place gets crowded easily, I believe they should reduce the number of visitors inside so you can better enjoy the art. It's a very good experience for the kids as it opens them up to more artistic possibilities and creativity, as well as social/political activism. The high points go to the element of the museum.

Such a wonderful experience, different concept of museums. Modern and free Art. I love it. The rooms with lights are amazing too. I recommend to book tickets earlier because it’s busy there and you might wait a little bit to enter. Highly recommend

The art pieces were undeniably captivating, however, appreciating the beauty of these masterpieces became a difficult task. The venue was awash with an overwhelming sea of people. Visitors swarmed every corner, elbow to elbow, each vying for a closer look at the exhibits. The dense crowd brought with it an almost claustrophobic feeling, stifling the sense of personal space, and making it challenging to fully engage with the art. Even more oppressive was the unexpected heat inside the exhibition. The air was thick and heavy, the combination of so many bodies and the glaring overhead lights making the temperature within the gallery border uncomfortably high. The climate control seemed unable to cope with the unexpected number of visitors, transforming what should have been a cool, calm environment into a stuffy and unwelcoming sauna. The lack of fresh air was noticeable, the heat was palpable, and sweat beads began to form on foreheads. The warmth inside turned every breath into a sigh, every minute into an endurance test. It was as if the room was slowly being cooked by an invisible sun. In the end, the heat and the crowd significantly tarnished the experience. Instead of a serene and reflective exploration of art, it became a struggle to stay comfortable and focused amidst the uncomfortable heat and the throngs of people. It was a regrettable situation, as it detracted significantly from the beauty and power of the displayed art pieces.

I have to say it was quite crowded when I visited but with a bit of patience you get the chance to admire some great contemporary works. We went at 6pm so we got a complimentary drink at the end of the visit, much appreciated! Absolutely recommended.

Fantastic museum! It’s small, but has some really great modern and street art. I decided to visit at the last minute and am so glad I did. Lots of Banksy art, as well as some cool interactive spaces in the basement. I definitely recommend this museum!

Purchasing tickets in advance is imperative. They’re also pretty strict with entry times, but you’re able to change your that online. Can’t say it was an easy process, but doable. This place is pretty small so if you’re going during busy times be prepared to rub elbows with others. That said, even though the space is small you could tell how they were really selective with the works they put in there. There’s also a small sculpture garden around the building that is accessible without buying a ticket.

I really recommend purchasing the tickets in advance if you want to go in. It was a fun and nice museum but kinda small. I liked it but there are other more important and interesting things to visit if you go on a trip to Amsterdam. Specially if you’re only staying there a few days and want to squeeze in a lot of visits to museums and monuments on your trip.

Overall it was a nice experience, yet I was expecting more! I was mostly attracted to Banksy’s art. The exhibition is extended in 3 floors including the ground floor. In the basement there are some rooms with lights which were very fun to experience. Basement would be the last floor to visit as from there you can exit to the museum yard. It is a nice experience, price ticket is not high and the audio touring is included in the price.

The collection is nice but I do not recommend it to go especially during Covid times. I went there yesterday and there was no distancing measure whatsoever, the place was absolutely packed you could barely move let alone enjoy the art …. I’m sure that’s not even legal given the government instruction of 1.5M of distancing

It is a nice small museum, if you adore banksy. If you are not a big fan of street art and similar artists, it might not be that interesting for you. Audio guide is not something you would need there, plates next to the artworks are enough. edit: keep in mind there are no lockers for your stuff and jacket. so avoid going with your big backpack which you ll have to wear on your front.

Not so expensive for entry. Great curation and small enough that you don’t feel like you’re going to miss anything. Some iconic pieces from modern greats. When we were there, there was a great experiential light exhibit which was incredibly engaging. Especially if you’re enjoying Amsterdam properly ;)

This museum was a great surprise. It's quite small so only took about 45 minutes to go through the entire display. It was fun to see Banksy pieces that I had seen online or heard of, and there were some really moving pieces as well from other artists I hadn't heard of. Although some could consider it pricey for the size of the museum, I think it's worth it and I recommend!

Something between 2 and 3 stars 😒 In a few words - overpriced, small collection, very little space. I think people are going here because this place is advertised or they are obsessed with modern art. I like modern art, but still, I wouldn't say I enjoyed this museum. 22 euro for 30min? Wasted…

In my opinion the museum is small for the price of the tickets, many people at the same time seeing the museum even if there was no covid, and quite empty rooms. I sincerely enjoyed Bansky's art more on Facebook

We both the tickets before we go there. We were late butt they let us in. Not a big museum but a fun one. I think it needs to be a larger space to expose the art. Or at least it would be better to let less people in. It was so crowded and the air conditioning was not enough for the space.

The museum is small and a bit pricey but the artwork is truly unique. I went for Banksy but the museum has more cool artists and artworks that I enjoyed looking at. It’s also right next to the Van Gogh museum and the Rijksmuseum. It’s small enough to spend maybe an hour in and the setup is very cute overall.

We had already planned our Amsterdam itinerary when we saw a recommendation for Moco. We found a slot to squeeze it in and I'm so glad we did! It is a brilliant gallery with some incredible pieces. I'm not usually a big fan of modern art, but the collection on display is beautiful and the commentary in the app is a great way to learn more about the works and the artists. The interactive elements were also lots of fun and a great photo opportunity! I would highly recommend a visit!

As soon as I scheduled my Amsterdam trip, I knew I had to visit MoCo! It's a great museum to get inspired by the pieces of contemporary artists. Be aware that they don't have lockers and I think the cloakroom was closed. Overall, I thought it was gonna be bigger and I wish it was because it's totally worth it. The museum being that small makes it cozy and more familiar in comparison to the others in the Museumplein. The staff is also super friendly and helpful. I can't wait to visit the new MoCo in Barcelona 🤩

There absolutely is some really nice art but it's pretty small and I was done in 30 minutes. Because the rooms are so small and there were quite a lot of visitors, it felt really cramped and not very safe considering the covid situation. This combines with the fact that the entrance fee was pretty high (€19.50) I don't feel like it was worth it. For that price, I'd recommend going to the Rijksmuseum instead, where you can easily spend a few hours.

Very cool idea to introduce people to modern art. The collection include important works, arranged in a nice way. The building is very peculiar and the bookshop has so many nice ideas for small gifts to buy. I strongly recommend to buy ticket in advance, because the rooms are small and if it’s too crowded your visit could be less enjoyable.

Expensive, not big and way too much people ! I truly do not recommend this experience to everyone who really love art (I don’t know if every museum are the same here but in France there is no noise, there, everyone is talking it’s SO annoying, I can’t even walk without touching someone). Loved the art but it was really a bad moment for me under the mass of people.

Very nice museum with a cool and modern atmosphere. The staff we're nice, the arts are amazing, great experience. Two reasons why I gave this place a 4 stars is that I think it is too expensive regarding to what you get. Second is that it is not so Covid safe. Although, it was a nice experience.

I will say, as a tourist visiting Amsterdam (from a big city where works by many of these artists are available to view easily) I did think, maybe I should have skipped this museum for a more uniquely Dutch one. It's a cool museum for modern, not traditional art. Lots of thought provoking pieces you could rush through, but it's more meaningful if you take your time... Great if you want something less typically touristy. Also this would probably be a great choice for families with teenagers

We were as a group of 8 here. For our cultural trip during the day we choose the Moco Museum as one of the many stops we did. It had plenty of art here, it had also Banksys art and other interesting things. Whoever likes modern art is on the right place here

Highly recommended ! The museum is beautiful, with a lot of modern art and well organized, we stayed about an hour to visit everything. This is a great experience, don’t forget to book your tickets in advance and the morning is better cause there’s not too much people.

I'm not so passionate about arts. I found this museum very cute, curious but too much expensive. 19,50€ per person I think is too much.

We came across countless good reviews and advertisements for Moco Museum all over the city, which piqued our curiosity. We decided to purchase tickets online, though they turned out to be quite expensive. In all honesty, it just wasn't our cup of tea. It became evident that modern and digital art simply doesn't resonate with us. However, it's worth noting that the building itself is truly spectacular. The architectural details, especially the windows and the historical background, captured our interest. While the art didn't strike a chord with us, we acknowledge that tastes vary. So, although we wouldn't recommend it based on our preferences, it might be worth a visit for those who appreciate this genre

The museum itself is quite nice and also the exhibition, it is however quite small and it doesn’t take a lot of time, the worst of all was how packed it was! We bought a ticket ahead and still had to squeeze through all the hallways and couldn’t really see some of the art! The price is just not justified, I’d rather buy a ticket to the other great museum in Amsterdam!

A beautiful building but in my view not well-suited to its purpose. Too many people for the small rooms makes it feel far too busy. If it were a private view then fine but for general public access not good. Better to display these pieces in a conventional spacious gallery over two floors maybe. The art was interesting but compromised by the viewing experience.

Great collection of Banksy works. I recommend downloading the free audio tour app and listening to the story behind each work because it gives a context to the art piece. A small enough museum but interesting content and it does get busy in the basement with all the instagramable lights.

An incredible museum. Quite small in size but includes a large number of fantastic exhibits. Definitely recommend a visit. Tickets can be purchased online in advance (for a specific day and time) or purchased on the spot. Immediately expect that the museum has an incredible gift shop that you definitely cannot pass by.

To be honest I am not a huge fan of modern art but when I just arrived to Amsterdam I was visiting a few museums and places of interest. Firstly, I need to mention that it’s better to buy tickets in advance. Once I went there without a ticket and everything was already sold out for that time slot. The museum is pretty small and it got pretty crowded in the middle of the day. Still it was nice to get familiar with some modern art exhibits but most of all I enjoyed the light installation which is downstairs.

Diverse modern artworks, fascinating rooms with lights. Don't bring a backpack which is too large, because the staff will constantly tell you to wear it in the front and it is not very comfortable with a big one. All in all, great experience, highly recommended to visit, you can take really nice pictures.

A really great museum. It's rather small, but every single piece is great and meaningful. The descriptions can be slightly cheesy, but they are very clear and accessible. A great gateway for people who don't have a lot of experience with modern art and want to try an understandable approach! The shop has some really nice mementos and the interactive exhibition in the basement is refreshing and beautiful!

Moco museum had me admiring all the cultivated art from renown artists. What was neat about the museum is that it has a lot of interesting angles for their exhibitions. The museum had an interesting take on NFT art with its integration with mobile interactions/animations for their respective rooms.

Modern art museum with some great art exhibited, quite a few Bansky and Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst and Japanese artists. The immersive part in the basement is great fun for all ages. Entry price is good but book tickets online in advance as busy.

For what they do have it’s a nice collection. Such a shame the museum is this small. Really not worth the price of admission. Museum can be visited in 20 minutes at a leisurely pace. Can only recommend when you can get tickets at a steep discount.

Bought tickets online on my phone and then went in thinking it would be a quick one hour or so thing. Ended spending almost 3 hours inside, there was so much to see and it was all very cool! The free audio guide was informative without being overwhelming. We really enjoyed ourselves! Very nice to take a break from the historical museums to see modern art.

This was our favourite museum in Amsterdam so far, they have lots of art in such a small house. The rooms in the basement are perfect for pictures, they have loads of Banskys work. Really recommend coming here. Can get a bit busy depending on when you go so definitely order your tickets online beforehand.

The Moco Museum in Amsterdam was an alright experience. It had a fair amount of exhibits, but honestly, I didn't find it particularly thrilling. The Banksy exhibit was kind of interesting, but there were only a few pieces, which was a bit underwhelming. Overall, it's not something I'd rave about or rush back to, especially considering the hype around it and the costs of tickets. The shop was also extremely expensive as you would imagine.

  • 4/5 Pilar Frías G. 3 months ago on Google New
Very interesting and fun museum. A little crowded, but it worth the experience. I recommend to leave your coat at the front desk because it's warm inside. A good place to take so much pictures, the museography is good and loved the information of each art piece. The store has very good souvenirs. In the garden I've got a kind of doughnut dusted with powder sugar so good!

Interesting to see all the comments about how much people spent time here, ranging from 30 min to 3 hours 😳 we spent almost one hour close to the average I guess, and depending on your expectations it can be disappointing or amazing. We expected to kill some time while enjoying some modern arts and it was just as expected 😀 nothing super fabulous but if you have an hour to kill, it is a cozy and refreshing museum for sure.

Cool little museum. You must purchase tickets ahead of time. It is set in an old house so it gets a little tight and gets very busy. I would recommend going at slower time maybe first thing when it opens or just before closing. Takes less than an hour to see the entire thing. Nice gift shop at the end.

  • 5/5 Tamara J. 4 months ago on Google
This museum was all about modern contemporary art with pieces that provoke conversations on what the artists were trying to convey with the piece. Can get a little congested as the spaces aren't large but worth it. Gift shop was a little expensive but I was able to find something reasonable.

  • 5/5 Alice H. 5 months ago on Google
Absolutely amazing museum, full of modern art and a digital art exhibition too which is mind blowing. It was fairly quiet when we visited so was easy to take photos of everything. Only downside was a very expensive gift shop.

Right next to the Van Gogh Museum. Great alternative if you forgot to book tickets for the Van Gogh Museum - just like us. A lot of modern art from several artists. But the house itself is very small so I would recommend to go there right after they open. It get's crowded very fast. Definitely check out the basement! There are various rooms with special effects. Great for pictures!

Fantastic museum with great exhibits. I used the I Amsterdam card to enter for free. The webaite says to book a time slot online but they let me in without a booking. The length was perfect, didn't make me want to leave early or like it ended too early.

Really enjoyed the moco museum. Came here with a few friends while in Amsterdam after seeing it on Tiktok and GetYourGuide. We booked 4x student tickets for €16.50 pp. Very friendly welcomes on entry from a fellow Irishman and all other staff were friendly. We had to wear our back packs on our front which I found odd but most likely because theft is common. Place was busy but was really cool. A lot of art from Banksy the kidd. Some sculptures, digital art and NFTs on display too. Good selection of things to see and there are soom rooms which are perfect for an Instagram shot! Gift shop inside also. This is a must see while visiting.

I saw a cool-looking advertisement on the street, and bought tickets online for the next day. The check-in was a little hectic with the multiple checks of tickets and COVID status, but once I got into the museum I was pleasantly surprised. BUY A TICKET AND RUSH to this museum. So worth it. One of the better modern art museums I’ve been too. Their collection is outstanding. Truly. What a joy. They allow pictures (no flash) and the natural progression of the museum ends in the gift shop, then outback in the garden for more art. The gift shop is expensive, but what museum gift shop isn’t? So buy a postcard. Just get yo sorry azz down to this museum. Original Banksy you wonder? They’ve got more than one. Warhol and other modern masters also make this a world class museum. Plan on at least a couple hours, and forget the car, I don’t think there’s parking anywhere close :)…

Interesting museum for contemporary and immersive art. It shows the very mainstream art anyone can connect with - unfortunately, way too crowded as there doesn’t seem to be a restriction on visitors at any given point. Do not expect to learn too much - come for the aesthetics and Insta-shots. Definitely worth a visit, although not huge.

Moco museum was a true modern art museum. The art in the building was so different than anything I had ever seen. I would recommend it highly and it's a must in Amsterdam for all major art lovers. Tickets prices are a bit high for the size of the museum so just be aware.

Very cool museum with many interesting expositions! Tip: buy the tickets in advance via website - it will be 5 euro cheaper

If you're visiting Amsterdam and have a love for modern art, you won't want to miss this museum! From the moment you enter, you'll be surrounded by a world of creativity and design. The exhibits are expertly curated and offer a wide range of contemporary artwork from international artists. The museum's space itself is well-designed. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this modern museum and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an engaging and thought-provoking cultural experience in Amsterdam.

Absolutely loved this museum. Its beautiful and well kept from start to finish. Staff are so friendly and helpful. The gallery is gorgeous, could of spent day wondering around. Highly recommended. Can't wait to visit again.

The exhibits are interesting, especially when you read the story behind. Some of them are quite impressive, others not so much. One thing I totally disliked was that the museum was overcrowded. Even if you should book a time slot in advance, inside the museum there were way too many people

Big names but no content. The museum can be fully visited twice in 40 minutes. It’s not worthy at all. It feels like another fake museums with lots of advertisements to attract people to realize there isn’t that much to see. Besides, it was crowded. Not recommended at all.
