Entry ticket of 10Euros and free for Museumkart. Take appointment. Nice souvenirs and collections of watches in shop for visitors to buy. Huge collections of various diamonds. Worlds smallest diamond, Golden Racket, Crowns of Napolean, Russian, British, African, Thai , Japanese Sword and Skull made this museum worthless. Photography allowed.

We excepted more from this museum. Two floors of a Cosy building at the back of the Rujks museum represent the process of diamonds production from on mining to the final smith works. Will be interesting for those who are interested in the process. Replicas of the real diamonds on display left us a bit disappointed ☹️- what the point of paying 12 euros and then looking at cheap glass toys? Some of replicas got dust on them and this looks even more discouraging.

Small museum but is interactive and you get a complete history of diamond making, different cities involved in diamond trade. May take 2 hours overall. The souvenir shop at the end is having interesting collection of items (not diamonds though). Interesting fact was only 5% of diamonds are used for jewellery and the remaining 95% is for industrial use. Free with museum card.

Fairly small museum in Amsterdam’s Museumplein. It’s really interesting and for a small museum, it’s very well thought out and organized. Beautiful things to see and learn, definitely recommend !

Good display and history of diamonds. Very informative with beautiful examples of diamond uses beyond just jewelry. Wish the museum was a little bigger but it was well worth the visit and price. Would recommend seeing once but that’s it.

Learnt amazing facts about diamonds. Right from history of diamonds to extraction, trade, use, properties, and significance of diamonds. There were many exhibitions of diamonds. However, it was unclear which one is original and which one is a replica. The heist room (meant for game play) was closed temporarily. Reaching the place is easy. Can be reached by car or public transport. Buying of tickets was hassle free. It took close to an hour to see the entire museum

A small museum at the museum square which has to compete with the big boys. I ended up here because I had some spare time and the big ones had no tickets anymore. However it was an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately many diamonds are replicas and not the real deal. Small museum, the movie at the beginning is a must, informative and at the end you can play a game (stealing a diamond). If you have a spare hour, a museum card, I would recommend to go here and be pleasantly surprised.

Really cool museum with a lot of the history of diamond cutting internationally, but specifically the huge diamond industry in the Netherlands. I really enjoyed the tiara/crown room and the mirror room with their version of the Hirst skull. I understand that they couldn't have the real diamonds for the "significant diamonds of the world" exhibition, but the gems seemed so obviously plastic. Would be better for their displays to get some high quality glass or CZ representations. Would definitely still recommend this museum... And don't forget to visit the Coster Diamond shop & museum next door for free with your Diamante Museum ticket!

For this category of museum I am Impressed. Usually geological museums or jewelry are boring. Not here the movie at the start was captivating, the diamond collection and crowns were nice. I loved the last room full of glasses and the tennis racket.

It has tremendous potential, but the presentation lacks dynamism and interactivity. The small museum features exquisite diamonds. The initial presentation on the creation and rarity of diamonds left a somewhat sour impression due to its limited engagement.

I have learned some interesting details about diamonds. They also have a mini game inside. Next time I’ll come back to buy diamond jewelry.

Nice place, friendly staff, very interesting exhibits and the history of the diamond industry. I would like to see more of real diamonds instead of replicas. And add please some interactive facilities.

It was interesting to see how diamonds were made. But it's a relatively small musea. If you are with kids, I won't suggest it. There are some fun rooms, like a laser room where you need to (steal) a diamond. But further than that, there are mostly examples of diamonds with some text with it. But if you're a bit older, it can be interesting. So give it a visit.

Interesting place to visit. Great exhibition and our Cubs and Scouts thoroughly enjoyed trying the jewellery heist interactive game. Well worth a visit.

Friendly service but a slightly outdated musuem. Nice to spend 1.5 hrs.

The museum is nice overall, nothing bad to say about it, but I would not rate it as a must. I visited it because it was included in the City Pass

Really interesting. I enjoyed learning about the diamond 💎 trade, mining, formation, etc. Excellent museum especially for the price. But stairs are steep, so beware. Beautiful replicas of famous diamonds and various crowns, royal jewelry.

Interesting theme, so if you are interested in history about diamonds, this would be great. However, they don’t have abundant collections, so it might not be a must-visit place.

Few highlights here, which are worth viewing if you got the Amsterdam Pass. Not sure if I would pay for it though. There are only around 30 lockers, so don’t take a space there for granted on a busy day. Unfortunately as they also clearly mention most of the shown objects are only replicas. Takes away the vibe a bit. They have a cool diamond heist room though in which you can test how good of a thieve you were! Only for a short visit, not recommending to plan the day around it.

Great and satisfying experience in this museum. I learned about the history of diamonds in Amsterdam and saw the beauties. Don't be fooled that you will see something like in the movies, but it will definitely impress you.🙌📸

Three museum is fine, but not amazing. I got in for free with the Museumkaart, but I think someone who paid full price would feel a bit disappointed. The museum is quite dated; I don't think it's been updated since the 90s or early 2000s. After going to the free tour at Royal Coater next door, this museum added little. There's a lot of glass replicas of diamonds which feels disappointing. The highlight is the "diamond experience" room at the end.

Intriguing museum charting the history of Amsterdam's love affair with the toughest stone on planet earth. We were saddened to learn that after the Jewish Dutch population were exterminated during WW2, the diamond market was significantly diminished and has failed to fully recover since. I was a little dismayed to discover that many of the diamonds and jewellery on display were replicas. Also, be aware that they try to entice you next door to the production area which is basically one giant marketing exercise and forces you to walk through several of their shops and sales people in order to exit!

Stunning service from Simone: he explained me the essentials about diamonds and sit together for all the time needed in order to make the perfect choice for my purchase. Special thanks also to Naree, she gave the final help in making the decision and I could not be happier with the result. Highly recommended!

It’s very small for a museum. Informative about history of diamonds and most famous stones around the world. It’s included in I Amsterdam card. If I had paid for it individually, I would be very disappointed.

Some interesting information. I didn't expect real diamonds but you can find those in the factory a couple of doors away. But worth a visit all the same.

Pretty small museum which walks you through the history of the diamond industry in Amsterdam. There are some interesting movies, though the archive is less interesting as most of the items are just remake of famous jewellery, there are almost no original items there.

They haven’t displayed any original piece in this museum. It was kinda boring and waste of time. They weren’t interesting because it was a business more than a museum. In museum shop everything was too expensive. A simple card post was 5€. And they are sold only for 1€ in other museum shops. Toilets were clean. In general, I don’t recommend it.

Small museum about diamonds. They have a good video explaining how diamonds form, but the exhibits are very underwhelming. The free exhibition next door (also Coster diamonds) is much better than this, which is €11!

Nice place with a lot of information about diamonds and the Dutch diamond trade that I had no knowledge of. Nice documentaries and awesome live game 'steal the diamond'

Interesting. You can see how a diamond is worked.

  • 5/5 Christian H. 1 year ago on Google
What a beautiful place! Eventhough the history depicted here shows a little of the gruesome time where colonialism started and even the blood diamond history, this is truely a very educational museum. It shows when and where all this diamond trades started. The explanation of the diamond types and mining was really comprehensive. You might need more than 1 hour to read all the explanation there.
