Were here as a group. A very beautiful church that is also visited by pilgrims on the Way of St. James. Unfortunately, another “very, very religious person” stole the pilgrim stamp, as you could read. We sat in the beer garden and enjoyed the house brew in this warmth. There are different varieties and also homemade cakes.

Mamelis is a Benedictine monastery where silence and devotion reign. Everything is kept simple and yet it has a certain charm. The monks live simply and undemandingly and leave the monastery as little as possible, which is part of the thinking of the Benedictine monks, which is the rule; Poverty, chastity, obedience and work. They pray 8 times a day ⭐️

Very special atmosphere. We attended a trade fair. Very impressive. Religion is lived here without the pomp and splendor. An experience.

The monastery itself cannot be visited. The associated church is open to the public. The forest belonging to the monastery offers the opportunity to take a nice walk.

Have stayed here as guest before and became a part of the community for a fewdays. Im not a catholic but fitted in with the few days of reflection towards God. The monks have very little distractions due to the minimalist architecture but this enhances their worship . What was nice to see was a younger generation of monks having joined since i was last here 10 or so years ago If you want to find peace of mind and are curious about monastic life this is for u!

This abbey is not a tourist place. The first impression is not very spectacular and cannot be compared to other Benedictine monasteries with their baroque opulence. However, the few accessible parts of the building, such as the monastery church, breathe a simplicity and harmony in which nothing is superfluous, but rather the core existential questions of meaning becomes transparent. I attend the monks' hourly prayers from time to time, especially during Advent. The depth of spirituality that I experience gives me strength and serenity as well as a view of what is essential. Get involved too.
