The private canal cruise was great. It's a beautiful, historic boat. We will book it again next time. The dinner on board was excellent. The German-speaking captain was able to tell us a lot about the city.

Together with three friends we had an amazing private two-course dinner with captain Carl! We had a starter from de Struisvogel and our maincourse from Hemelse Modder. Both dishes were delicious. What truly made our experience unforgettable was the hospitality and positive vibe of Carl while sailing on the canals. This was a unique experience and every other night out for dinner seems boring after this exerpience.

We had an incredible evening on this private boating experience. The food was excellent, the lovely host knew plenty of fascinating history of the city, and (obviously) the canal views were stunning. 100% worth it!

We took a private boat with Boatboys. Our driver/guide is Nickle (sorry if we mis-spelled your name). The boat is unique, classic, comfortable and beautiful. We, a family of three really like our boat trip. Nickle is knowledgeable. He told us the story in each place we passed by. Very enjoyable coming with someone we could ask questions and communicate with very well. We took a 90 minutes trip. Nickle brought along the canals seeing many nice places such as slim bridges, Hermitage, Heineken brewery, dancing house, Jordaan, Rijksmuseum, etc. It was a sunny day but we didn’t feel hot on the boat. He served us some drinks with Almonds. We three enjoy this boat trip very much. Highly recommend !! Thank again, Nickle.

The experience was great. The boat was comfortable. The guys gave us a lot of useful and interesting information and answered to all our questions. They were really polite. The 90 mins tour was enough to see all the amazing places around the canals of Amsterdam.

We booked a private lunch tour and it was everything I hoped it would be! From booking to drop off, it all went off without a hitch. Nichol was a fantastic guide and gave us plenty of insight into the different parts of the city and beyond which was much appreciated. Lunch was fabulous as well. I would definitely recommend this company for anyone wanting a private tour. We will be back and sending all our family and friends to this company in the future.

We spent two wonderful hours with Karl, our boat captain and tour guide. The boat was perfectly comfortable for the four of us and I think could have reasonably accommodated 2-4 more people depending on size. The boat seating area was entirely enclosed, which is great for rain though we had a sunny day. The front glass pane opens up for great photos, but only worked well for us because we didn't have someone seated there. Karl was a huge part of the success of this voyage. He knew a lot of history and current issues in Amsterdam and also didn't take himself or us too seriously. It was terrific. It is not a budget tour, but I found it well worth the expense. Very strong recommendation!

We had a spectacular night on the Boat Boys’ beautiful old timber boat seeing the Light Festival. Their knowledge of each art piece and history of the surrounding area was great. We were two adults and four kids (8-12) and we all loved it. The boys were engaging with the kids which is always appreciated. As we boarded they asked if we wanted to change it up a little as the Amsterdam fireworks show, which was cancelled over New Years, was rescheduled for during our tour. With an excited yes from us they showed us not only all of the lights but took us to the firework show too. An extra special bonus since half of our party were flying from Australia over New Years so hadn’t seen any fireworks at all. Thanks for a great night!

If you can only do one thing in Amsterdam, this is it! I have cruised with Carl on his lovely salon boat twice now, and I will be back again, for sure. Each tour was different and tailored to what we were interested in -- the first time I was with family so it was a lot more history and getting acquainted to the city. The second time it was a birthday trip with my friend and Carl shared all kinds of cool insight into the Dutch people and culture. Both cruises were filled with easy conversation, incredible food, and nothing can beat seeing the city from the canals. Try to get the late/last cruise so you can enjoy the sunset and the canals when the lights come on. There is nothing like it!

Had a great tour - not cheap, but absolutely individual, comfortable and really nice to interact with. We don't regret a single euro invested!

The Boatboys couldn’t have provided a better experience, beginning with their historic, perfectly maintained saloon boat, through their wonderful tour of the city and wrapped in their welcoming and friendly manner. I wanted to introduce a friend to the magic of Amsterdam - the Boatboys made it more fun and informative than we could have expected. Great thing to do whether rain or shine. We were two but 4-6 also just perfect. We are telling our friends NOT to miss a canal cruise in Amsterdam with the Boatboys.

We booked an evening 90 minute cruise with Carl. We were visiting during the Festival of Lights. Carl was very knowledgeable and made our cruise so much fun. His boat is beautiful and very well maintained. He gave us tips and suggestions of local places to visit. If I could give 10 stars I would. Highly recommend!

I may be a little biased (since I got engaged on this boat tour!!) but this was my favorite experience in Amsterdam. The Boatboys were very knowledgeable about the city and its history and landmarks. The tour was very laid back and conversational, allowing us to ask questions along the way. They suggested great places to eat, drink, and visit during our remaining days (many of which we tried and loved!). The atmosphere was intimate and there was soft music playing, which added to the ambiance of an already perfect sunset boat cruise. 10/10 would recommend!

We had a wonderful time on our dinner cruise. The boat is the perfect size for our family of four. The ability to completely enclose the cabin made the cruise enjoyable on a cool evening. The food and wine were both excellent. Most important of all is that the captain balanced being a very informative tour guide and giving us the space for family time. And, or course, we got to see the wonderful city of Amsterdam from its beautiful canals. Thank you for having us in your “living room”.

We had the first tour of the year after long lock-down. Following our special wishes, Carl picked us up directly at the marina of the Apollo-Hotel with his fantastic restored german Salonboat and gave us a wonderful tour through the canals of Amsterdam. We appreciate this special service of an individual tour and had a good time with Carl. Coffee, Tea, Drinks... you name it, everything was on board - for free! Take a little bit more cash and book a tour with Carl! It´s way better than driving with the "busses" ;-)

We had a wonderful private boat tour with Carl. We chose for the 2hrs private canal tour where you pass along the most scenic landmarks in Amsterdam. The private boat is heated and very comfortable. Next time we definitely want to try out the private dinner cruise with them! The classic canal tour is also available for just one hour in case you would like a short tour.

Greatly enjoyed our time in the Undine! It was perfectly warm inside despite the weather and the company arranged for roses on the table as well, which was the perfect addition to a proposal gone well! We very much enjoyed the romance and the time together.

This was an amazing experience for me and my partner that we loved every second of! Customer service was top-notch to help me figure out problems I was having with booking and finding a way to help us have an incredible dinner. Fantastic that there are different options for food (vegetarian/vegan) and different cuisines too. Carl our captain was very sweet and even went as far as dropping us off slightly closer to our house so we could walk home easier. Will definitely keep this in mind for special occasions in the future. Highly recommend!

It was just an amazing experience! The boat is very nice and cosy. We took 1.5 hour tour and really we did not want it to finish. It was so relaxing and beautiful. And our captain gave us many interesting facts and information that we did not hear from other guides. I highly recommend this boat, it is a must experience in Amsterdam!

We enjoyed a wonderful two hour ride through Amsterdam and with the two course dinner served right to the Boat! Carl was wonderful to talk to throughout the trip and even gave us more ideas of fun things to do in Amsterdam with our children. The meal was wonderful! We were able to order just what we wanted and even have some modifications for our children's meals without any issue. Our only wish was that we booked a longer ride! Highly suggest this experience during your stay in Amsterdam!

We Had the most amazing boat trip with Carl yesterday. Beautiful boat stocked with nice wines and cold beers . Carl talked us through the canals while taking the time to tell us about the buildings as we passed. He had also organised a lobster lunch which was delicious . Carl is very knowledgable about his city but also a great guy , we has lots of laughs . I can’t recommend this enough ….a great experience .
