Underwhelming
and
disappointing.
There’s
no
denying
that
there
is
some
beautiful
scenery,
Seychelles
beaches
are
some
of
the
most
beautiful
in
the
world
and
this
resort
benefits
from
that.
But
for
a
5
star
hotel,
it
all
feels
a
bit
underwhelming.
It
really
lacks
the
wow
factor
you’d
expect
from
a
resort
of
this
status.
We’ve
been
lucky
enough
to
stay
in
a
few
resorts
of
this
status
and
this
really
is
not
good
value
for
money.
The
atmosphere
is
lacking,
the
service
is
basic,
the
food
and
drink
on
offer
is
distinctly
average
(but
very
expensive).
The
surrounds
need
work,
the
pool
tiles
are
all
coming
off
the
bottom
(I
cut
my
toe
on
one),
the
breakfast
tables
are
all
scratched.
The
decor
is
basic
and
tired
-
they
really
can’t
justify
their
prices.
These
were
our
feelings
even
before
the
incident
where
our
18
month
year
old
boy
contracted
gastroenteritis
at
the
resort
(we’re
also
aware
of
another
guest
who
did).
He
developed
a
fever
one
evening
and
I
found
him
having
a
seizure
in
his
cot
around
midnight.
This
was
obviously
extremely
scary
for
us
and
we
immediately
tried
to
call
reception
for
help.
The
hotel
staff
did
not
pick
up
for
about
25
minutes,
which
is
completely
unacceptable.
We
called
every
single
line
available
in
panic
and
eventually
got
hold
of
housekeeping
and
asked
for
an
medic
urgently.
Housekeeping
turned
up
to
check
the
situation,
and
then
got
in
touch
with
other
staff,
at
which
point
our
son
had
stopped
fitting
and
regained
consciousness.
The
resort
do
not
have
on
site
medic
staff
in
the
evenings,
so
we
were
eventually
taken
to
the
local
hospital
about
45
minutes
later
by
a
security
guard
which
didn’t
have
the
staff
or
equipment
to
help.
We
were
given
rehydration
salts
and
left.
The
hotel
apologised
and
said
they
had
upgraded
the
telephone
lines
which
resulted
in
a
‘technical
error’
trying
to
dial
out,
despite
the
fact
that
it
had
worked
perfectly
all
week
during
the
daytime.
Our
toddler
continued
to
have
a
fever
for
36
hours,
severe
diarrhoea
and
we
were
riddled
with
worry
not
knowing
the
cause
of
his
illness,
but
also
not
knowing
how
we’d
get
the
help
or
treatment
we
required
if
he
didn’t
recover.
Eventually
the
hotel
arranged
for
a
paediatrician
to
come
and
check
him
over
(which
they
tried
to
charge
us
for
initially)
and
he
was
diagnosed
with
gastroenteritis.
We’re
aware
if
at
least
one
other
person
in
the
resort
who
also
contracted
it
here
and
ended
up
on
an
IV
at
the
local
hospital.
Things
happen,
we
don’t
blame
the
hotel
for
his
illness
(which
may
or
may
not
have
been
caused
by
them)
but
we’re
extremely
upset
with
the
stress
they
caused
us
when
we
were
unable
to
get
hold
of
anyone
during
a
very
scary
time.
And
generally,
after
looking
forward
to
our
one
special
holiday
of
the
year
that
we
worked
hard
for
-
we
just
feel
a
bit
deflated,
stressed
out,
and
ripped
off
by
the
whole
experience.
