Erin Ijesha waterfall is some kilometers away from Ijesha town, Osun State. You can access this place with a vehicle or a motor bike. Tickets are gotten at the entrance for 1000 naira per person & at your request, a tour guide is assigned to you( this comes at an extra cost). No pre-booking is required. The waterfall has 7 floors & with each floor you climb, you get to discover the beauty that is this waterfall. Be warned that it involves a lot of hiking so if you’re one who tires easily, you may want to stop on the first floor. Kindly note that it’s quite a distance from the entrance to the waterfall. Refreshments & shower caps(optional ) are sold at the entrance. The weekends are busy days at the waterfall so if you’ll prefer a calmer, more quiet experience, it would be best to visit during week days. Remember to bring extra clothing or a bikini so you don’t go home wet.

It was a beautiful experience at Erin Ijesha. Having witness my first waterfall, It was so nice. Boarded a bus at old park in oshogbo. Was dropped along the entrance of the Community. Then we boarded a bike to the entrance of the water fall. Paid 1000 naira per head for entry fee. Got entertained by a drummer before climbing the first set of stairs. Heard to get to the top most part of the water fall, you would need to get up to the 7th floor/step which nobody has ever done. To even climb to the 3rd fall wasn't that easy 😅😅😅. The stairs are very narrow and there are no rails to even use as assist 😔. On getting down to the waterfall, you have to be very careful to avoid falling because there is no stairs. The environment around the waterfall is very dirty. Visitors that come there with edible things use it to litter the environment. I believe the government can do more because it's a beautiful tourist location. Met a lot of white people there when I visited in April 2023.

A wonderful tourist site. You can appreciate the beauty of nature with the different levels of Waterfalls (7 levels) and rock climbing to each level. You will surely want to tick this place in your list of places you would love to visit. I would have loved if the place has a spot for sale of traditional food to add to the tourist attraction.

The Erin-Ijesha Waterfall, also known as Olumirin Waterfall, is a natural wonder located in Erin-Ijesha, a town in Osun State, Nigeria. The waterfall is made up of seven layers of cascading waterfalls, which create a stunning display of water falling. To access the waterfall, visitors must trek through a forested area and climb over 200 steps to reach the top. Along the way, they will encounter various viewing points that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. At the top of the waterfall, visitors can swim in the natural pools, relax by the water, or have a picnic in the designated picnic area. The gate fee to access the area is a 1000 naira as at when visited. There are people there telling the stories about the waterfall and there is a big space safe enough for cars and buses.

I can’t exactly give a detailed review on the cost of getting here because I was here a long time ago and the economics of the country was different so I’ll focus on logistics and ambience here. I dragged my friends to join me hiking for my birthday a few years ago here. The hiking trail is a long one and there are several levels of the waterfall. I didn’t get to the end because the higher you go the steeper it gets. There are man made steps at various points to aid the climb. There were few places outside to get snacks and water, it’s advisable to buy water before you ascend. Getting the waterfall is totally worth it because it’s extremely refreshing. The echoes in area makes it even more ethereal. Don’t forget to pack a ton of sunscreen. To get here we entered a free bus from the front of access bank on station road in Osogbo to the park where we got a sienna. Like I said earlier, I don’t know what these cost now so I won’t speculate. You can read more about this trip on my website in my bio.

I have heard a lot about Erin Ijesa waterfall but I was actually stuned by the wonders of mother nature when I visited. It's a lovely place for nature lovers, serene environment and a place with fresh air. The whispering waterfall is cold and refreshing to the body. The Waterfall is housed in an environment with magnificent scape; with beauty that greets upon arrival. We were welcomed by drummers. It has seven cascades. In a search for the source of the water in company of other tourists we spent almost an hour climbing upwards with tree stumps as support. After the climb we relaxed by the soothing water splash; the sound and flow of the torrent water is refreshing and relaxing. It is preferable to come along with Hiking shoes, change of clothes for people who want to enjoy the water at the base. Though this place got seven cascades, we were able to get to the fourth, 'cos the other floors are breathe tasking. Btw: Make sure you have lots of time. To enjoy this place, you shouldn’t be in a hurry.

The scene here is great, the loud noise of this waterfall is a blast. I heard this place has probably 4, 5, 6 or 7 water 🌊 falls. The first level is high, the second is higher, more than 90 steps up hill in the rock Wonder how the 3rd is and the last floor. Going inside this hilly and bushy rock alone could be dreadful 😂 and anyone who has phobia for height should not go alone.

It was my first time visiting the falls, and I must confess it was an amazing experience for me. Not up to an hour's drive from the city of Akure, and it wasn't so hard to locate the place from the Akure-Ijesha expressway. I went there with my team from work for a picnic, we paid an entry fee of #1,000 per person and we got a tour guide who walked us through 5 stages out of the 7 stages of the fall, he charged us #1,000 per stage. Erin Ijesha Waterfall is a typical example of being close to Mother Nature, and I'll say it's a place I would love to pay a visit again and again cos next time I'll get to the 7th stage which is said to take me out of Akure and into Ekiti.

As beautiful as the place is it's not safe. After the first level and half way the second waterfall the remaining involves climbing rocks that could be slippery and extremely steep places

A natural tourist site. Emphasis on the word Natural. It could be so much better if it finds l some investment and governmental Goodwill. But I digress. The mountain is massive. But there are stairs to climb it up to a point. After that it's just pure hiking. Climbing rocks to get to higher ground. The waterfalls are so beautiful. They can be seen on multiple levels and that's nice The water hits you with so much force if you're under it. I heard someone describe it as Strong as a massage. All in all, a fun experience. Just wish they'd make more safety oriented decisions and choices

Had a swell time visiting with family, it comes with the fun that comes with the fall! People come here from different places and the most busy days of the week are Wednesday, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. There's no restaurant so it's best you come with your food and snacks, you can buy good palmwine from the sellers around there. The tour guides gets a token from you for taking you up and teaching you the history, there are gazebos where you can eat or meet and network with your fellas, there's also a space where you can gather, it takes about 100people, there are 7 levels of the mountain, for fun sake get to the 3rd level and play with water 😂

The place was so beautiful… it’s a lot to get to the top. Gate fee was #200 and #2000 for using a professional camera and there’s an indigene who is a tour guide named Kenny mehn that guy was so helpful and humble. You can buzz me if you need his contact while visiting. I would definitely visit again.

The place is easily accessible, though the road that leads there is a bit rough untarred, children are allowed but needs supervision by adults. A fun place to be, heard it has 7 stages where the water runs from, but most people don't pass more than the 3rd stages and mostly lazy ones like me only stay at the first stage. There are stairs used in accessing the each stages.

It’s a nice place to visit but a mixture of stress and fun😅. The walking and climbing to the upper levels can be so tedious which could be made much easier if more pedestrian bridges can be constructed . The waterfall there really cools the body.

This is a very good place to get connected with the nature. Just enjoy the water and the atmosphere. But I would advice you if you are not fit physically don't bother to get to the seven floor. The place is an hour trek from the third floor. Because by the time you get back you might be exhausted.

Nature is beautiful, I enjoyed my trip to the Resort and waterfall. The place is beautiful, a must go place for you and your family. It has seven Layers, I wish I engaged in the climbing to the seventh floor, but I guess I will do it when next I visit there. People mistake the place for Erin Ijesha waterfalls but actually it's called OLUMIRIN WATERFALLS.

I don't hate the place. I traveled over 50 kilometers to visit this Waterfalls and on arrival, the indigenes told us they had locked up the place, because the Government has refused to do anything for the people of the community. They claimed all the money being realized from using the place as a Tourist attraction was been sent to the Government who was doing nothing to improve the community. Many of the other tourists were seriously harassed and threatened and we were given only 5 minutes to leave else we will be in serious trouble with the indigenes. They tied Palm branches at the entrances, popularly known as 'Mariwo Ope', to indicate that stepping beyond the first gate was a bad omen. I was severely disheartened, I hope the State Government does something about this speedily.

Nature is absolutely beautiful. It's a lovely tourist attraction site that everyone needs to see at least once🙂. However, other activities like (Games, swimming pool, food spot, event centre...) needs to be factored in to make the place more bubbly and alive and also to generate more funds.

It’s one of Nigeria’s best tourist attraction center. It has seven levels of steps. I was only able to get to the second floor, you’d need strength and strong will to go beyond the second floor. It’s a beautiful sight to behold. Beautiful flowers, the waterfall is breathtaking. I also think the empty cubicles can be renovated and put into use and vendors can also have their own spots, for refreshments, history etc. It can be a full blown resort and accommodation can be provided. I am thinking long term. It will also encourage tourists. Overall, I didn’t regret visiting Erin Ijesha waterfall.

An absolute delight! On my first visit here, I made it to the fourth level, we were determined to get to the last level which is level 7 but the tour guide advised against it😒 This recent visit, I had no intention of going past the first level because it held exactly what I needed at the time, a relaxing shower under the chilled spring waterfall, mahnn, it was therapeutic. I made a note to walk barefooted too, had to maximize all my opportunities to connect with nature. The trip from Lagos had been unnecessarily long and tiring, we also arrived behind schedule and almost missed the chance to access the water fall but we did and I had to make the most of it without stress too. I’m convinced I still have one more visit to this destination or however many trips it will be for me to make it to the top which I’ve heard is a beautiful setting and an entire village on its own. Can’t wait to see the view from the top and I believe it’s going to be sooner too. The waterfall is very chilling and relaxing, it’s really cold at first but once you get under it, it’s really hard to leave. Go along with change of clothes and comfy shoes that can be easily removed and reworn, this way you won’t have any reason to miss out on the fun that this place offers.

It is a beautiful nature place you can enjoy with your family and friends. It has 7 levels. Alot of steps and rocks. Prepare yourself if you're trying to climb them all. Just like hiking😁 Pack alot of water, if you're the easily thirsty type. Some facilities need to be improved though. Over it all, it's an enjoyable place.

Amazing place to visit. We were only able to get to the 3rd level. the higher to go the colder the water becomes. There is a myth that no one ever fell while climbing the Erin Ijesha waterfall. The water flows from over 100 feet down to the 1st level.. Quite an amazing experience. It is highly recommended you go with your own food and drinks, though you might be able to buy local snacks around there. I drank the best palm wine there.

Erin Ijesha waterfall is a beauty hidden and masked. The road leading to this attraction is not tarred but don't let that deter you. There are seven stages of water falls, each with it's own breathtaking view. Tourists will have to climb up and down the stages so it better to take a few day to prepare for this adventure.

Nature has a way of reminding one that "There is God", this is a prime example. Rocks well arranged and patterned to favour man. Climbing the rock was a huge ask but doing it is a good exercise. The waterfall starts on the third floor and the fifth floor has a good view of the town. The seventh floor has a flat surface, this makes it a good place to cool off after the hike. Scramble your name on the rough flat surface so people know you visited and join the prayer warriors visibly present to communion with Jah! Cool place!

Also known as the Olumirin Waterfalls, this is a tourist attraction located in Erin Ijesha, Osun state. It is said that Erin-Ijesha waterfall was first discovered in 1140 AD and was called Olumirin, which means another deity, because it seemed it had the appearance of a mysterious figure. The fall features seven floors, on top of which the village Abake is located. The waterfall is said to have medicinal properties and people came from all over to drink from the waterfall and be healed.

  • 1/5 Busari A. 4 years ago on Google
Poorly managed. Nature left to itself by poor management. 1. The pool by the waterfall is too shallow. Ankle or even below ankle deep in dry season. 2. You can't really swim or fully dip as an average height individual. You can only splash and stuff 3. The rocks are just a disturbance and dangerous, something that could actually be worked on. 4. You can't get even basic food, snacks or drink inside the compound except by a small shack at the gate. And even that has a limited selection.

One of Osun State's go to places. I'll give Erin ijesha 3 stars. There's still a lot to make the place super awesome for people but if you're within its Environs, you should add this to your bucket list. There's a lot to explore from the 1st stage to the 7th stage. You should consider going on a track, sneakers with firm grip and gloves to hold firmly while climbing. It's optional to go with your swimming trunks, shower caps and glasses and the first two is sold at the gate.

I simply loved my visit to the waterfall. The vast landscape, the cooling effect of the water running down the various levels and the various sights and sounds, makes it a must-see for anyone and everyone visiting Osun State. You are greeted with an ancient look of the area, which gives a self-told history and as you move higher, the warmth of the sun rapidly changes to cool winds...loved it. So, why didn't I give it 5-stars? Erin Ijesha waterfall should be a state of the art heritage. However, what you see is a poorly managed tourist attraction. While some of the climbing can be really fun, other areas pose a safety concern. Under great management, with various sponsorships, it can be a sight to behold...just my 2 cents.

Such a beautiful place with 7 layers of waterfall. Its such a delight. The sight and sound of the water crashing is very therapeutic. A steep climb however but so rewarding

It's my first time at Erin Ijesha waterfall. The nature there is very attractive with many sceneries. The place is poorly managed, not well maintained. Our government needs to take that place serious to attract more tourist

  • 2/5 Efunkoya A. 3 years ago on Google
The natural source of water is awesome but the maintenance for the place is next to zero... No tour guide, security or in case of emergency, you are on your own. The stairs that leads to each levels has nothing to guide you so if you aren't careful or scared of height then you are also on your own. What's wrong with having an elevator taking you to the different levels. The Ministry of Tourism is a failure at that.

Just simply wow! after 4 hours and covering 10.3 km in 35.6 degrees heat at 674 m, we made it up to the seventh level and back down with a 30 -45 minute break at the level 3 waterfall where you can chill. Its totally worth your while by visiting the Olumirin waterfall in Erin Ijesha you literally end up visiting two of the south west states in Nigeria. Osun and Ekiti. The lower levels are in Osun state whilst the seventh level located in the Abake village is in Ekiti. We had an amazing tour guide take us up. There is main path that leds to the seventh level. To see 4, 5 and 6 you have to get off that pathway. So what should you bring some good vibes, water, a sunhat, bathing suit or whatever swim attire you prefer, sunscreen and please use the trash can if you do bring food. This place is totally worth several visits

Located in Ilesa, Osun State, Olumirin waterfalls commonly known as Erin Ijesha waterfall is a popular tourist site in Nigeria. This waterfall has seven levels (steps) with the level of difficulty increasing as one climbs higher. Olumirin waterfalls need to be developed as it has a lot of potential which can make it a world tourist site.

The waterfall was it for me and that was all really. It was a struggle getting to the second level but once we did it was beautiful. The level of security is zero really. Tried going to level 3 but after seeing a young girl slip off an edge and watch her friends pull her back up, I changed my mind. I got really upset after that, it's so unsafe, the stairs that they have which only goes up to level 2 and stops doesn't have rail guides so anyone can fall off. No road maps or signs showing directions on where to go (probably to help sell the tour guide idea). I sincerely was disappointed at how abandoned the whole place looked and how such a beautiful place hasn't brought wealth to the surrounding village through tourism.

I hiked all the way to the fourth level of the Olumirin / Erin Ijesha waterfall. I couldn't complete the seventh level of the waterfall. 😔 Hiking up the fourth levels was such a tough but eye-opening experience for me. I’m always ready to pack up a bag to go see new places but honestly. Meeting mind likes was a great pleasure. The waterfall chase is a wow experience for me as an adventurer

Erin Ijesha waterfall also known as Olumirin waterfall is located in Erin Ijesha town, Oriade local government area of Osun state in Nigeria. It is one of the numerous waterfalls in Nigeria and what I saw was when I went there was really beautiful. There are 7 levels to the waterfall but I only reached 3 levels of the waterfall. The entrance fee per adult is 1000 Naira. Children - 500 Naira Video/camera - 2000 Naira Car park - 300 Naira Opening hours: 8:00am to 6pm daily. The only downside is, the distance from the main entrance to the waterfall is not a trek-able one, so, if you don’t have a personal vehicle, you’ll need to use a motorcycle to go inside. You might tell the motorcycle rider to wait for you to finish at an extra cost or you can have the tour guides arrange one for you on your way back to the entrance after you’re done. From Ilesha, you can board a cab, bus, or motorcycle to Erin Ijesha. Always ask the locals for direction. I used a motorcycle from Ilesha to Erin Ijesha and I paid 1500 Naira. Learn how to negotiate with the tour guides too. The one I met said he charges 1000 Naira to take me up each level which was ridiculous. I ended up paying 1500 for 3 levels which I was pretty satisfied with. In all, I had an awesome experience at Erin Ijesha waterfall. Nature is indeed beautiful.

Erin Ijesah is also nice for tourists, it has 7 stages but I was only able to get to level 3 cause my strength couldn't carry me further, the water is so cold and the villagers said it drinkable, the waterfall was discovered by a hunter.

FYI, it's a tourist center, prepare to climb young man, I mean prepare to climb those hills young lady. If you take carbonated drinks ensure to have one energy drink in your pouch 😂. If you need a tour guide, prepare to pay same person (Price is negotiatable for the tour guide). If you have swimming something 😊, come with it, you might wanna enjoy the natural shower from the rocks. A very cool place to enjoy Nature.

Good tourist centre. Improvements can be done to the railings, the waste management and addition of services to generate more revenue.

The beauty of Erin Ijesha is evident in all the surrounding trees, nature and vegetation around it. It has seven levels of to get to the waterfall, I recommend you go in your hiking gear if you intend to climb. The climb is easy and within the hour you should reach the ist height, here you would be able to look below and behold the beauty of this place. If you plan to go all the way I suggest you be harmed with drinking water and snacks. When you get to the seventh level be prepared to visit Ekiti State as You will be able to walk in there, it shares a border with Abake Village. Entry fee is N1000 to acess Erin Ijesha. Like and Follow us at ArinkaTravels across all social media platforms for more attractions.
