Enjoy outdoor relaxation? Nelson Mandela gardens is a fun place to be. I enjoyed my time there, definitely going back to the swimming pool. The attendants are polite, there is someone ready to show you around. The place also have a mini zoo. There were monkeys, ostrich, peacock, tortoise. They sell drinks and chips like my usual chips and potato and also barbecue. It’s a good place for family outing, birthday party and picnics.

Nelson Mandela Gardens is located through Asaba Airport Asaba, Delta State. It ushers one into a cozy environment with well maintained green grasses and beautiful trees. Several fun areas exist starting with Paintball arena to the mini zoo and then to the children play zone. There is also a garden area where grilled chicken and chips and nkwobi could be shared with friends and family over a drink. Another interesting area is the swimming pool area. The swimming pool is large enough for over 50 persons at a time with several sitouts for relaxation. There is a lodging for those who wish to spend weekend getaways or vacations. There is a gym house too for such lodgers. All round, Nelson Mandela Gardens is a fun place to be. Next time your flight is delayed in Asaba Airport, you can just walk down to the Garden and give yourself a treat of nature's best.

Beautiful lovely, the zoo has lots of animals . Then our great hero jibunah Newton..who drove on land from London to Nigeria and Nigeria to London three times lives there . He has planted thousands of trees round the world and more than a hundred at the NELSON MANDELA'S garden

Authentic Traditional African resort befitting of The Great Madiba that it is named after. Kudos to the legendary Dr Newton Jibunoh, celebrated African icon in his own rights for the vision to conceive and commitment to the delivery and sustenance of Nelson Mandela Gardens @Asaba, Delta State of Nigeria.

It is located just within the Asaba international Airport, which provides extra security. It is composed of a beautiful garden and playground, accommodation lodges and the sports complex with facilities like the international swimming pool, gym and tennis court. The entire property and adorned in lush gardens with beautiful flowers and trees. No wonder it is a location for marriage proposals, photoshoots, wedding receptions too. The garden has a mini zoo and it is an absolute delight seeing some farm animals like the ostrich, tortoise, donkeys, rabbits, parrots and monkeys too. Did I forget the peacock? With the children playground Equipments, it is a haven for kids and families. From trampolines to swings, slides and playhouses, there's no dull moment for kids of all ages. Are you adventurous? Try out Badminton and paintballing with friends! There is also a gazebo where you can get drinks and small chops. There's also a grill bar for your barbecue fish, shawarma, chicken and chips and the likes. You can join in the free classes. The morning exercises and also the dance classes Nelson Mandela Garden is a must for both residents and tourists. Great accomodations and for relaxation, outdoor parties and communing with nature.

The swimming pool is big as I like but we are not there for Olympics Na, you need to make some places like 3 feet so it can accommodate everyone, not everyone is a master swimmer and no children section, you guys need to work on the zoo section, no animals and there were not even arranged well or neat, I was disappointed with the zoo section, you guys need general renovation

Mandela Garden is one of the most beautiful places I've been in Asaba. The Garden is neat and serenely beautiful. It's sure a nice place for picnics and hangouts. With beautiful trees and plant in sight. If you visit Mandela Garden, you would love and appreciate nature more.

The only garden I know of in Asaba. It's a nice place to have a quiet time. Built within the Asaba International Airport, Mandela Gardens serves as a nice relaxation centre for travellers and locals alike. I must commend the Management for the neatness of the environment. All the times I've been there, it has always been neat (no matter my arrival time) and that's really impressive to me. It's got a few animals that are not commonly seen around this locality, like donkeys, ostriches, etc. It's a welcome development. The only problem, in my opinion, is that of accessibility. For someone who is not driving, the trek from the airport entrance to the garden itself is really something. After such a long trek, you must need to catch your breath. My suggestion would be that a means of conveyance could be provided by the management and also some publicity may be needed. Not many people know about this nice place.

Serene environment. The central music can be ignored or tolerated if you have your own bluetooth speaker. Needs more vendors, wait staff, seats and maybe rooms. Imagine the traffic if you could spend the night (close to airport sha so...do with that what you will.)

Nelson Mandela Gardens is simply majestic. Located within the premise of the Asaba airport, it serves as a wonderful oasis for travelers from the entire mid west region to eastern Nigeria looking to relax, relate, and release. Embedded within are exotic animals, and possibly the most scenic environment you'll see for miles. An absolute recommendation.

Nelson Mandela Park, Asaba is a composite leisure and business park that offers hospitality suites in a natural environment. Currently it showcases well manicured lawns, a garden of 95 trees, a snack bar, a lawn tennis court. A semi Olympic size swimming pool, with pool pavilion, is under construction. The park hosts birthday parties, picnics, club activities, school excursions. A lovely, healthy environment for the whole family.

Green. Nice. Not so tranquil because it's close to the express. Drinks are very affordable. Foods are not allowed in and they don't sell food(kinda a silly rule). But I enjoyed my time there with friends.

There are no animals here and there is a lot of jobs to be done here, in order to put it back in shape and make it one of the best zoo in the country. So for now I will say that it is very poor.

Children will like it for the mere sound of its a zoo, but I don't know how much of live animals are in there but I know for sure that its not d focus of the government right now nonetheless it won't be so bad to visit the zoo and get a first hand βœ‹info.

The only thing, anybody that has been here before, has are fond memories and nostalgia whenever this place is sighted or passed. An avenue for Tourism in Port Harcourt, but little or no interest is placed on it. Located on trans-amadi road, it can be accessed from at least 4 points, but the zoo itself has one entrance. It can be spotted from a distance due to the dense trees population in the compound. The ministry of culture and tourism should look into revamping it or else, lose it to criminal activities thereby leading to a total boycott by individuals.

Port Harcourt Zoo is only a history... It's almost out of existence... The only animals there are just an ostrich, chimpanzee, crocodile, and turtle. The place is looking so dangerous and unkept... No special animal of attraction. No lion in the zoo. And the few animals left are malnourished.

I don't understand how and why there won't be shades in this place.. After paying 100k we stayed under the sun? This is supposed to be a picnic hotspot. No shade, no mats or seats, the staff are never at the stores so you'd wait a while to buy something.. Too many issues.. The zoo shouldn't even be called a zoo.. Less than 10 animals πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚..

The fact that the Nelson Mandela Gardens is right inside the airport in Asaba is a huge plus. But that is not all that makes this place a delight. It's serene, clean and has several attractions. The legacy of the founder, Dr Newton Jibunoh, also adds to the allure of this place. I enjoyed my stay here and I am happy to recommend it.
