Depending on the part you are taking, this river has an amazing view from the first axes toward IKPOBA SLOP axes. Some people see it as a river that accommodate ritual activities due to its low base and maybe the velocity or intensity of the water flow is low, this same characteristics makes it, a source of livelihood for the people working at the car wash from one end and the abattoir from the other end. This same river stretches to UPPER MISSION end axes, from this axes, the river, amazingly supply water to what I will call the LARGEST Cat Fish Farm in Edo state, where people from different direction come together to practice fish farming... Sad enough this area of the river is currently experiencing some for of Gully Erosion which is almost eating into the road side of the trunk B road constructed about 4-5 years ago at the UPPER MISSION EXTENSION axes of the river...

A popular river in the City of Benin. Once proposed for a tourist attractions with the Ikpoba River Dam project which was neglected having gone through a complete phase of a standard dam. The instability and interruption of military in governance between the 1960s and 1990s was an acclaimed major set back. But again since the return of civilians to government in its one sided democratic system, the government did little or nothing to bring it face back. The Ikpoba river project suffered the worst of neglect between 1999 till date. It could be argued strongly with logical proof that it has been reduced to a dump site and a place for religious rituals only. The neglect has led to poor security in the area. Until recently however, it's not safe a place to walk by or drive through once it's 6pm. The supposed bypass to ease traffic for commuters is a trap once it's a bit late into dusk.

The only reason you would be here is for prayer rituals. Other than that, it's not the place to be.

The bridge should be well barricaded for users safety to cut down or eliminate the number of casualties on it.
