From grandmother' s garden with love I absolutely love the dynamics and variety of dining options vibrant capital of Greece has to offer. Just three steps from Ermou, in a traditional building with red roof tiles, the Makris restaurant attracts attention of couples and groups of friends offering three different ambiences on its three floors. The roof floor terrace offers stunning views of Athenian archeologal sites, a magical private room in the cellar with glass floor overseeing the ancient remains is ideal for small celebrations, while the vibrant ground floor with charming outdoor area allows you to experience delicious food while absorbing the vibe of this ancient international metropolis. I will allow myself to say - the affordable luxury- as the value for money is truly high and rates more than appropriate. As someone who struggles to find a decent, single variety wine per glass served in Athens, I highly appreciated a wide selection of delicious national and international labels. I absolutely loved the olive oil menu and presentation, as well as creative coffee and tea selection. Please do give a chance to Mocha tea- from Japan, directly to your pot, to clean the palate. While drinks list offers the best from international and Greek market, the first ingredients originate from Chef' s Farm and small local producers. The chef's passion for food and fresh ingredients was passed to him by his belowed Grandmother. The degustation menu engages all the senses. Creative, inspiring presentation , smooth textures, delicious bytes, make us feel alive, especially if experienced in a nice company. I almost felt sorry to stab my fork into the peace of art in front of me and ruin the creation... Attention to detail is present throughout this gastronomic journey- cutlery , decoration- everything is alligned. And as a cherry on the top- even the engraved napkins are longer than usual - (for non Greek readers) "makri" means "long". I would definitely encourage any foodie passing by, to peek behind heavy curtains, to enter in the world of light and friendly Makris Athens dinining experience.

Can’t fault this place. Immaculate presentation, beautiful setting, original dishes. Chef was friendly and staff were superb. The flexibility of the kitchen is also something to note. It was much appreciated. Loved the wine, cheese, and olive oil selection! Highly recommend.

Beautiful (new) restaurant at the foot of the Acropolis. We came early in the evening and felt very welcome. We had the vegan menu. The food was exquisite. The service was excellent. The staff was very friendly. We celebrated our anniversary and the staff paid attention to that, which was kind of them. After a few courses, we got an interesting tour in the restaurant and saw the Parthenon from the rooftop. This might have been the best experience we have had at a restaurant. We'll definitely come back on our next trip to Athens!

Not your usual stiff ambiance, a beautiful melange of Greek hospitality with fine dining. Despite being a a set menu the staff was more than delighted to help with alternate options for myself. Food was divine and we also had the chef come out & for a quick hi even though he was on crutches! Definitely recommending and coming back with great pleasure.

In any case, don't miss the dining room downstairs even for a photo, The lower level is full of history!

This was without a doubt one of the most delicious dinners I’ve ever had the privilege of experiencing. It was a gastronomical experience that left me full but still wanting more. The chef outdid himself while creating the menu. The restaurant is very modern yet classy, with a view of Acropolis on the roof and a magical view of the ruins of the Ancient Agora at the basement. The flavors and combinations were amazing. The service was impeccable and everyone was very attentive. A fine dining restaurant that you should definitely visit.

Just fantastic, For me this was one of the most memorable gastronomical experiences. The dishes were innovative and delicious, the staff were wonderful, we had the pleasure of meeting the lovely chef, who came out twice to check on us. The warm and welcoming atmosphere matched that of having dinner at a good friends house. I am looking forward to coming back again soon!
