In the first week of our three months stay we have been there three times. The location is very chilly and the food is just awesomely good. It is kind of tapas style, meaning that you order a few plates at the same time. Our favorites dishes were the slow cooked lamb, the octopus, the mussels and the chicken souvlaki.

Went here twice in a week! Staying in Greece for a month with a chunk of time near Athens and this is the perfect restaurant for casual but professional service in a beautiful courtyard. It’s a short walk up the hill near the Archaeological museum in Athens! Food is amazing! Some dishes definitely stand out more than others but overall amazing meal both time I went! We got multiple dishes each time and ordered completely different things the second time to try out more of their menu. Love this place. The only thing is that on some days and nights on weekend they seem to be busy so if it’s a holiday or weekend peak summer, definitely think about making a reservation instead of risking it and walking in.

What a beautiful restaurant in a hip neighborhood covered with murals and graffiti art. On a Thursday evening around 19.30, my group of five walked in without a reservation and sat down inside right away. We ordered beans, the feta balls, sausage, risotto, bread, and the melon salad. It all filled us up and tasted great, especially the risotto. To drink, we got local beer, black moscato, and a half liter of white wine. The space is beautiful and inviting and service is quick.

We recently visited this tucked-in restaurant in Exarchia. Really cozy atmosphere with nice food. The portions were big and full. Service was amazing, very quick and helpful. We ordered mushroom risotto with truffle oil, beef in dark beer with a side of pumpkin purée and a type of greek cheese with tomato chutney. The prices are good, 36€ total with two juices. We enjoyed it and will come back when in Athens! Love from Serbia.

Delicious food at reasonable prices. They have a really nice patio filled with plants and lots of seating. We were recommended this place by the staff at our nearby Hotel (just around the corner) saying it was some of the best food in Athens. They said that the building was once an elementary school and that the old classrooms are now part of the restaurant. We had several plates and a bottle of wine in the late afternoon. Everything was fresh and arrived at the table within just a few minutes of ordering. Our server was helpful and really nice to speak with. We loved the green bean salad and beef dish with orzo.

This is a must-visit spot for us whenever we come to Athens. The veggie risotto is mind blowing. Zucchini patties may be a new favorite. Orzo with shrimp is nice. The cats are incredibly polite and patient for spare shrimp tails.

Ama Lachei at Nefelis is one if my favorite traditional Greek mezedopoleio in Athens for a lunch or early dinner. I've been coming here for years, by myself, with friends, family and/or visitors from abroad... and always enjoy it. I really like the outdoor courtyard seating, that is great ... especially in good weather, where many a times I have enjoyed and shared Greek/Mediterranean style small plates with generous portions of tasty mezedes ... that arrive at your table in random order! 😊😋😋

Great food! Authentic meets modern. We ordered way too much, the mezze plates were not that small… My favourite was the orzo with prawns. Best to make reservations. Very enjoyable service.

Food was good, I would say 4/5. Had some typical dishes. the place is really interesting and nice. They have any options and dishes that look amazing. My biggest thing with this place was the staff. Upon my arrival I got the feeling that I was not welcome, possibly because it was just one person. The person that receives the customers sounded he was trying to demote me from having lunch there with different excuses. Also the staff looked incredibly sad about their work, not sure why was that, but I got that impression from 3 different ones. Good place to come with friends and share food.

We got recommended this place a lot and the reviews also look very promising but in the end we left a bit disappointed. The food was rustic, but not in a good way. E.g. the sauteed mushrooms were cut so big you had to cut them into three pieces to comfortably eat them. Sounds a bit picky maybe, but you will understand when you get there. Also the size of the portions seemed a bit off and a tad too big. This all makes the food seem a little careless and rough and usually I don‘t mind a rustic experience. If you want to go there, I‘d recommend you be a party of at least 4. Otherwise you’ll spend all night trying to finish that pile of mushrooms or the squid. The quality of the food was good, but not overwhelming given the relatively high expectations we had considering the recommendations and reviews.

Delicious. It isn't a proper restaurant, it's a Meze restaurant that is more like have a chat with your friend while having sharing plates. More you are better gonna be. Them amazing food surprised me, mostly the tartar and the cheese. Hopefully I remember right and was the Ladotyri, honestly, it was melting in my mouth at any bite and I could not stop eating it.

An old primary school transformed into a twisted tavern! One of my top favorites in Exarcheia area. Good food, a great atmosphere both inside or outside at the yard. Kind and quick service and normal prices. Parking can get tricky in the area. Definitely worth a visit!

We would give this 6 stars if we could — seriously not sure why you would go anywhere else?! We had 3 nights in Athens, found this our first night and had to come back before leaving. We even stopped at a couple of higher rated restaurants and were generally unimpressed. Amazing food and great prices. The only reasonable complaint we saw in reviews was the smoking inside, which I can understand, however most restaurants in Greece allow that and there are separate sections so it’s hardly noticeable. The outside area also looks like it’d be super cute on nice evenings. The food is incredible, so many amazing flavors and options you can’t go wrong. Plus you can get a LITER of wine (1 and 1/3 standard bottles) for 9 euros! Will definitely come again if we’re ever back in Athens.

Based on a friend’s recommendation, we visited this place twice. The first time, we arrived early and they had brunch menu, we got omelette, second time, they had meze (tapas) menu! We decided to try the mushroom skewer, chicken, and the fish dish, which the waiter suggested. The fish turned out to be our favorite; it was incredibly flavorful. The overall food experience was delightful, and we also enjoyed their delicious wine selection. The ambiance of the place was charming, with a beautiful tropical garden setting.

It's probably one of the best places to have dinner in Athens. Service is perfect, the food is delicious and delivered in minutes. Prices are more than reasonable. Egplant salad is the best one I ever had, and the shrimps are perfectly cooked. Also, thebsea bass is delicious. The restaurant is pet friendly, so you can bring your dog, and there are a lot of cats in the area which are surprisingly big and calm around the dogs. Definitely recommended place for a meal.

By far my favourite restaurant in Athens! Whenever I am in Athens I make sure I go there for lunch or dinner. My personal fav dish is kavourma with hummus! Apart from the delicious food, the friendly staff, the vibe is really nice too. Especially the garden gives you the feeling that you are not at the city centre. Wonderful food. The best turokafteri I can remember- it was like a mousse! The fried cheese balls were scrumptious too. I loved the squid ink dish as well. Ambience is lovely, service was fine. No complaints whatsoever! And VERY good value.

Nefeli is one of my favorite restaurants in Athens centre. All the dishes use local ingredients from various areas in Greece. Salads and desserts are amazing. Saturday lunch has the local fruit market as an added bonus. Don't take your car there, it's hard to park.

Haven't visited this place for some years now. The food remains really good and it would be a good reason to return soon. Unfortunately the flow of food was a disaster, since all three of us received our mains in different times, 5-10 minutes apart. Our waitress would have been great for a cop or a warden or even for my friend, but certainly not for serving people.

Unfortunately I was too early for their regular menu which starts from 1pm, so had brunch here instead. Had the greek yogurt with fruits, honey and granola which was creamy, delicious and refreshing in the heat. Also had an English breakfast tea which had been difficult to find in Athens so I was pleased! Service was very polite and friendly. Hopefully can come come back one day to sample their regular menu!

The food was good…especially the chicken kritharoto (highly recommended). I just wish the waiters were more knowledgable about the dishes but it’s ok. We found it a bit more pricey than it should be. Most of the food here was really good. Lamb shoulder with chickpea stew hit all the right notes: earthy, savoury, filling. We were also big big fans of the chicory, walnut and pear salad which was what all great salads should be: razor light and super fresh. The meat platter was nothing to write home about and I would stay well clear of the “Greek” (?) truffle pasta - way too rich and heavy (and overcooked). Other things make this place special however: the vibe (chatty and cute), the setting (outdoors and draped in greenery), service (friendly and attentive) and the beer (crafty and cheap).
