Finding vegetarian food in Greece is challenging at the best of times so to discover a pure vegan restaurant just a minute from Hadrian's Arch was wonderful. The food was fabulous and the portions immense. Kay and I ordered the mixed platter, the moussaka, and the Veganaki Special and it was huge, so much so that we had to take some home and I had to miss out on their Tiramisu. The atmosphere only drops 1 because outdoors is on the edge of some boy racer main junction and smoking is permitted, which isn't pleasant if you don't smoke.

Searching for vegan gluten free options in Greece is kinda difficult, but we were so lucky to come across Veganaki. This is such a sweet place. They have a little book station where you can take a book and read if you’d like while eating. We were greeted and sat pretty much wherever we wanted. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable about their food. We ordered the Greek pizza and the falafel plate. I was a little hesitant about the pizza because the crust is made from sweet potatoes, but it was so good! They had the best homemade “feta” on it. I am a lover of arugula and that was all over the top. I asked for some crushed red pepper because I need spice, and they gave cayenne which worked out perfectly. The falafel plate was also delicious. The falafel were not super dry and had a yummy tahini sauce on top. My favorite on the plate was their tabouli mixed with the hummus. This is a definite must try even if you’re not vegan, it’s that delicious. Update 7/27/23: We went again and had the souvlaki and the tiramisu—both delicious!

I'm glad I ventured here for dinner. It's a nice place wirh outdoor seating. Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere and decor is pleasant too. I ordered the hummus and pitta bread. This has to be the largest portion of hummus I've ever got in a restaurant. I wanted to try the spinach pie but was told when I sat down they didn't have any of that left. Instead I opted for the Pastitsio. Portion size was massive but tasted great. Going to try to come back once more before I leave.

Vegan cheese can be really hard to get right so I'm always cautious when ordering it but you can order their feta with your eyes closed, you won't be disappointed! The rest of our food was great too, definitely recommend this place. And they have a drinking fountain, which is always a plus when you travel with a reusable bottle.

The prices here was super reasonable considering how close to the center of Athens it is. Would highly recommend!! My partner and I split the appetizer platter, which was HUGE and delicious. There was a great spread of hummus, potato salad, beets, etc. There were only a few pita chips for the whole plate so ask for more if you aren’t comfortable with spoonfuls of hummus, which I highly recommend! For the main course, I got the moussaka. This was the first vegetarian moussaka I had seen on my Greece vacation so I HAD to get it. The flavor was great 👍🏼 with plenty of yellow lentils it also felt protein packed. It was missing the crispy cheese that is characteristic of most moussaka; however, the fluffy polenta like top in lieu of the cheese was a surprisingly delicious addition.

Whether you're vegan or not highly recommend to visit Veganaki! I ordered the vegan omelette which was delicious. We also ordered the hummus which doesn't come with bread or anything but after asking the waiter offered to bring some pita for us. Also, the salad was with fresh ingredients! The location is near a busy road intersection so if sitting outside it can be rather noisy. The waiter was not wear gloves (only face mask). However, the chef did have both mask and gloves.

The best vegan gluten free restaurant in the world as far as I know! And the staff is very nice. You can taste how much they care about what they cook. I never saw so many vegan and gluten free options in a menu. Everything is homemade and delicious. Go there, even if you re not vegan you gonna love it!

I would have loved to give 5 stars because the service was great and food looked amazing. The food tasted very salty though, especially all the vegetables and even the rocket had salt grains (we took the Greek salad, the Moussaka and the meatballs) or too sweet (esp. the moussaka bechamel sauce). We would come here again if there were no other vegan options close by but definitely double check for much less salt and add extra if needed. PS: they’ve got free tap water to drink as much as you want! PS2: you can only sit inside if you’re vaccinated

Lovely vegan food, very fresh and tasty! We are not fully vegan but loved the feta cashew cheese. The pizza dough is also amazing (I am always unsure about gluten free dough but this one was great!!!). We also tried the “meatballs” which were very tasty. Great place to eat healthy and vegan in Athens 🙏🏻

Food is very delicious and portions are quite big. Feta is obviously home made and not with industrial coconut fat. Staff is friendly and looks after their guests. Maybe it's not the cheapest place, but its definitely value for money.

They had great coffee as well with four different plant based milks to choose from. The staff (especially Giorgia) is very friendly and sweet. First, let me start by saying how much I loved the many vegan options that are available in Athens. I'm from California, US and had been out here quite a few years ago. Back then, it was very limited. I was walking back to our place after visiting Acropolis and walked past this restaurant. The name and crowd definitely caught my eye. I made a note to eat here the next morning, and I'm glad I did. There were a lot less people in the morning & their menu is wider for lunch. Nonetheless I found the zucchini pie to sound tasty.. and it was! Their "feta" cheese and fresh tomatoes just complimented the pie sooo well. I wish I would've taken some to go! Would highly recommend to stop and eat here. It's a quick walk from sightseeing so fairly easy to access.

The souvlaki was dry and extremely salty, I am someone that enjoys salt but it was like eating pure salt, it overpowered the taste of the rest of the food. Extremely dry and chewy like (vegan) shoe leather. The rest of the food was fine, ingredients seemed fresh enough, but 15 euro and the only decent things salad and potatoes? I would rather make it myself, not worth the money. Also, the restaurant was extremely busy with many tables and only 1 server on staff. She was working extremely hard, but it's not enough people for such a situation, therefore service was slow. Not her fault. I don't understand the amazing reviews, maybe I came on an off day. Still, bad value for what you pay in my opinion. Have had better vegan food in the area.

Amazing vegan and gluten free place. Souvlaki is definitely worth a try, as I haven’t seen a vegan gluten free one elsewhere in Athens. This version was extremely tasty, juicy and flavourful. All the ingredients were super healthy and I could feel it’s goodness: air fried potatoes, soy yogurt tzaziki, rice pita bread were all delicious! Desserts- Apple Pie Muffin was good. The place was a bit small- hope they expand as they grow more popular!

We went to Veganaki on our Trip to Athens because we wanted to try the greek cuisine. The waiters were so friendly and gave us great advise. We loved the appetizer plate so much and the desserts were amazing. The only sad thing was that they ran out of Moussaka and Pastitsio and we really wanted to try that. So if you want to go there, be there a bit earlier! Overall it was a very pleasant experience and we could come here again!
