It is so amazing restaurant in the centre. If you are tired with traditional Greek food you can try some gastronomic Greek dishes in more elaborated form. Super delicious, beautiful plates, super friendly hosts and treats from the restaurant. I was there twice and will visit some more times for sure

Very nice place. Small restaurant with a terrace. Modern Greek cuisine, giving a twist (not radical) to Greek classics. And it works: the food was excellent, tasty as well as surprising, and well cooked. Service was also very good: attentive without being oppresive. The waiter (who spoke very good English) explained us all the dishes ingredients and preparation. They have an interesting set of wines at reasonable prices. My only (very small) complaint: they didn't have Greek sweet wine for desserts. Not cheap, but worth the price.

The food was really good. The execution was perfect, all dishes were on point. The waiter was attentive and really kind. The desserts were not as good as the rest (the caramel crumbles could have been avoided) but in overall was a great experience. Will definitely come back if I'm again in Athens!

We enjoyed Symposio very much. The food and the atmosphere were excellent. I have seen a few reviews that said it was expensive, but honestly for the quality of the food and service I think the price is very reasonable. Take a chance on this gem. You will not be disappointed.

I was in Athens last year for three nights and so thankful I found this gem on my first night because I ate here every single night because it was just fantastic!!! I’m back this year and it’s the first place I ate and just as wonderful as last year! I cannot recommend this place enough!!! Every bite is perfect! Best food of this entire three week trip through Greece!

We visited for dinner, tried 2 starters, mains (fish, lamb, risotto and chicken) and 2 desserts - and were so much impressed of everything: service, taste and presentation. Highly recommend this restaurant for visiting!!! Thank you a lot - this was our last dinner in Athens after a week here - and also there is a huge selection of restaurants - but this one is on the top of our personal rating!

Really delicious food. High standard of cooking. Sad that it was a little quiet at 2100. It’s 5 minutes walk from the main tourist road. Service was great. I had two glasses of the Oreivatis red which was delicious.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. I tried all of the popular names around Athens area during my 5-day stay and I heard not one word of Symposio. Luckily, I came across this in my own research. I am a solo traveler and was looking for a place that was intimate enough for me to feel relaxed eating my meal alone haha. Not only was it the perfect location for this, but the food really delivered beyond my expectations! It was hands down the best meal of my Athens trip. Coming from Türkıye, I have lamb too much and this was better than any I’ve had. It’s fall off the bone juiciness with the sweet sauce addition was *chef’s kiss. And the celery that accompanied the lamb dish was very fragrant which I love. Even the margaritas were exactly how I like it. Not too sweet, a bit tart and powerful. To top off this wonderful experience, my beautiful server, Aristea was so nice and recommended the perfect dish with confidence. She knew the menu very well. I will be returning each and every time I cross the sea to Athens 🤗

Absolutely an amazing small family restaurant and the best meal I had in Athens. The food was exceptional, the pressed lamb main was the best dish I have tasted in a long time. Then "The Apple" desert was unique in presentation and flavours just off the chart. Also try the homemade Olive marmalade with fresh pita bread.

Dined here on a Thursday night, had the Octopus, Pressed Lamb and a Greek dessert, with the Olympus cocktail for about 50€ total. Place is well lit and decorated, service very attentive though it was not very busy. Food came quickly, flavours were quite good, octopus with the quinoa was quite tasty, though the lamb lacked maybe a bit of salt and flavour so I would give that one a 4.5/5. Dessert was nice, and the custard was surprisingly hot, did not expect that, but it was nice. Overall, excellent food and service, would recommend.

Amazing food and service! We are very demanding customers and rarely feel so satisfied! The smashed lamb in particular was simply wonderful! If the location was better, you'd need to 2 weeks to get a table!

Can't believe what we just experienced. Sure there are some great zouflaki places but if you want truly outstanding cuisine in the heart of Athens, get your butt to Symposio. A taste explosion for sure.

My friend and I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. Every dish is well thought out, the balance of flavors is fantastic. The wine list is excellent and reasonably priced. I also want to mention that the menu is suitable for vegetarians. Excellet value for money, liked the friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Best dinner we had in Greece without a doubt, as tourists we tried all the traditional Greek dishes previously and absolutely loved the spins put on them here. The staff, specifically Hercules, is beyond friendly, generous, and helpful. It was a highlight of our trip and would highly recommend to everyone! We loved the Steak Tartare, Sea Bream Carpaccio, Sea Bream Fillet Fricasse, and Galaktompoureko for desert 👌

We had a dinner with friends after the tour in a center. I took a beetroot carpaccio with a truffle as a starter and it was very unusual and yummy. As a main dish I had a lamb with celery root purée, it was amazingly tender and delicious! I also tasted one cocktail with Italikus liquor, but I don’t remember the name, it was very tasty and refreshing. The way to serve the food on a plate was just a piece of art! I would like to mention also very kind owners of this place, and very good staff. Efharisto!

We came upon this restaurant by chance when we were walking around Athens so we stopped to grab a bite. Very delicate dishes, we enjoyed the rib eye steak, the bourata cheese salad, the stuffed eggplants and the very interesting version of the traditional galaktoboureko. We had a nice time there, the staff was really friendly, and helpful. We'll definitely visit it again for a drink or dinner.

Came in on a Sunday evening. Ordered the Classics: Eggplant, Pressed lamb. Ordered the Chicken ballotine based on the bartenders recommendation. And we had Galaktompoureko for dessert. Everything tasted amazing and I would recommend it to anyone stopping by in Athens. They were also kind enough to give us complementary Greek mimosas (I don't remember the actual name) at the end of the meal.

Symposia is the epitome of quality and experience. The owners are fantastic and the bartenders are visionaries. This is what Athens is all about. A personal experience and historical in quality service and food/drink. Highly recommended... Don't miss this location in the Syntagma Sq region!

Went there with high expectations because of the high ranking reviews here, but left disappointed. First of all the place was awkwardly empty, to the point that makes you feel uncomfortable. Then, the the decorations look cheap. Waiter was wearing sweatpants. I didn’t like the appetizers, the mushrooms were cold, eggplant too oily. Only positive note was the lamb which is tender and the cream under is tasty. Would recommend only that. Dessert well presented but tasted as nothing special. Not worth the hype and the price

We visited this place for the first time and it was an exceptional experience. Why? Firstly, the food was magnificent. From appetizers to main dishes and desserts, everything was delicious. Secondly, the ambiance was serene and inviting. The room, exquisitely decorated, facilitated not only great conversations but also offered beautiful sights. Thirdly, our chef of the table, Herkules, was incredibly friendly. He offered excellent advice and paid close attention to what we were looking for. In conclusion, it was a delightful experience crowned with a mind-blowing dessert - you absolutely shouldn't miss it. As an Irish tourist, we were looking for authentic Greek cuisine. When we arrived we were treated exceptionally well. The food is amazing and very reasonably priced. Hercules and the other waiters/ waitresses made the experience even better, with their outstanding service and passio/ knowledge for the food they served. Would highly recommend.
