Gate to enter is unlocked for only limited hours daily. The fact that this memorial park needs to be locked down to prevent vandalism and vagrancy is unfortunately a testament to how far civil rights have gotten us.

A beautiful monument to the people who fought tirelessly for civil rights. The pillars are grand, and the rhetoric is profound and emotional. The statue of the hand is majestic. Unfortunately the area seemed very unkempt when we visited. There was a lot of trash in the fountain and stuck in the bushes. Many of the flowers were wilted and dying too.

I don't know what made it so, but this was the most moving monument, memorial, etc., to which I have been -- with the exception of the Vietnam War Wall in Washington, DC. I was in Atlantic City October 2, 2017. I was the only person in the garden, and I felt like I could feel the spirits of those who were quoted on the granite columns. I am not a religious person , but I felt the need to read a quote, place my hand on the carving, put my head against the pillar -- and I could feel the presence of that person's spirit. After I had read all of the quotes, I went to the center of the garden and "took a knee" and cried. I had such high hopes for our country when Obama was elected. Now I feel like we are in a fast downward spiral. The spirits I felt there were grieving also.

Was an eye opener to see how many unspoken Black People took part into shaping today and our government. Beautiful and Tranquil, just wish they had a bench inside garden.

Beautiful garden with granite columns. Each column and the gardens walls have quotes regarding equality. The large hand and bell are grand symbols.

By far, one of if not the best memorial park that I've ever visited. Very nicely planned, informative, and well maintained
