Far exceeded my expectations. A beautiful location right next to the canal. They have events every night at 7PM that offer free drinks. I'd highly suggest that you partake as you will meet wonderful people. I attended with zero plans and ended up having the most amazing week of fun. Also, the staff are some of the most friendly people. They are happy to start a conversation, help you with your questions, and if you get to know them well enough, they might even come party! I cannot say enough good things about my stay here. The only potential downside is that the facilities aren't amazing. Everything works fine and I didn't experience any problems, bet the rooms and community bathroom could be upgraded. If your goal is to make new friends and have an adventure, this is the place for you.

This hostel was okay... the highlights were that the beds were comfy and there is a sports bar downstairs which serves a cold breakfast of ham, cheese, bread, muesli, and yogurt and some fruit for 8 euros. You also get a 25% discount of bar food later in the day when that is served. It's an easy walk to the 7 at the Crimée stop which took me to many places I wanted to go. When I got there waiting for the receptionists to help you at any time takes a 15 to 20 min wait no matter when you go if there are at least 2 people in front of you. Additionally, when I first placed my items in the storage basket, I didn't think anything of it. But then I took them out and noticed it had some kind of hummus looking feces or food or diarrhea on my brand new travel backpack. So they did not make sure to clean the floor or the basket at all which ruined my belongings. I then had to go back downstairs, wait 20 more minutes to tell someone to clean the basket and wipe up my bag and coat. On the second to last day my card stopped working, so I had to wait another 15 minutes at reception to get it fixed. It doesn't seem like this happened often and perhaps I was very unlucky. My bed was fine in the 12 bed female dorm but a lot of times girls were chatting really loudly and I didn't know what to do to enforce the quiet hours rule. So yeah I don't know if I'd stay there again.

I read some reviews saying this place was dirty and the Staff were rude. But for the price it was my the best option for me... I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by very friendly Staff who made me feel welcomed. The hostel was exceptionally clean. For the 4 nights I was there all my interactions with Staff were great. I did notice a Staff member I didn't personally have an interaction with was quite rude to a guest who didn't speak English very well and she seemed quite short tempered. But I only saw that Staff member once and she should not be the only reflection of the people who work there because the rest were great. There are different events in their pub in the evenings which is a great icebreaker to meet fellow travelers. The rooms are big, the breakfast is basic but gets the job done and there are curtains on the bunks. Great hostel great location

The staff was nice and the bar cool. Apart from that everything was terrible for us. The lockers in the basement didn't work when we arrived so we had to call the staff. There was a water leakage at the check in counter. The hostel was unfortunately full of mentally ill people. One slept below me , talked to himself , smelled horribly and robbed me of my sleep. The helpful woman let us switch rooms. Where we arrived with a roommate who didn't stop washing clothes , eating and sorting his stuff until 1 am with the lights switched on. As my patience left me i switched off the lights and the guy started shouting ,waking everyone in the room up. I told him to calm him to calm down and went to sleep. Never again in this hostel.

I had a regrettable experience at the Saint Christopher Canal Hostel in Paris, and my interaction with the receptionist on November 2nd at 7 pm was nothing short of disappointing. This particular staff member displayed a complete lack of respect for customers and was exceedingly rude. Their priority seemed to be intimidating guests and engaging in seemingly irrelevant conversations with other employees in Spanish, which gave off the impression that they were more interested in excluding English-speaking customers than being of any assistance. Begging for good service should not be the case concerning paying clients. Moreover, the bar staff also left much to be desired. Their absent-mindedness and self-centered focus left them oblivious to the needs of the guests. They frequently forgot about special discounts and themed nights, showcasing a severe lack of professionalism. On a good note: there was one guy (White guy, ring beard with green and yellow t-shirt) who seemed committed to his work, he payed attention and was on point with his routine, but he was the only one. The issues didn't stop at the reception or bar. The check-in process was an unnecessary hassle, and the overall experience did not improve during my stay. This stay left a bitter taste in my mouth and highlighted the fact that some staff members may not be fit for their roles. It's my hope that the management of the hostel takes these concerns seriously and works towards improving the quality of service. The increasing number of negative reviews, like mine, could eventually have a detrimental impact on the hostel's business if these issues persist.

The hostel is just next to canal and is a pretty social place. The beds have curtains which is nice. They have clean washrooms and showers. Loved the bar downstairs. Decent breakfast option at 6 euros. Loved my stay here.

COVID HAZARD !!! this hostel is a contamination hub : 1-Sanitary QR code pass is not checked at entrance for hostel guest. 2-Full occupancy of dorm rooms instead of 50%. 3-The people caughing, sneezing and not wearing mask in common living areas are usually the ones absent at he bar since not having standard of living. The hostel dorms attracts more precarious guests because of below average service standards in comparison of competitors. This is known by staff who keeps having a big smile whike puting you in these dorms. Stay away if you want to not be infected.

I don't know why people saying the breakfast buffet was bad, I mean it's FREE if you book directly through the hostel website and you can eat as much as you want. Check out time is at 11 but you can pay €5 to leave at 13:00, otherwise you can stay in the lounge for free. The staff was friendly and available, and the women's dorm room was clean and the curtain on the bed was a nice touch. My room (108) was facing a small street and thankfully it wasn't load at night as you need to leave the window open because I don't think there's AC in the room. Showers were clean and had soap dispensers (no free towels, though). The area is lively when I visited (May), most of the canal is safe but there are some sketchy pockets here and there so use common sense late at night.

Worst experience ever in hostel... Reception didn't want to check me in before 15:00 even on recipe says check in 00:00. Securities very rude, wannabe bullies, I felt asleep half an hour cuz couldn't wait check in they woke me up and said no sleeping... Smallest security is coolest one... Cream on the top, when i was leaving mouses were jumping in library room 🐁🐭. Rooms are clean but bottom area is disgusting

Decent hostel with a great bar. Rooms and amenities are spacious, comfortable and clean. Location is okay, next to the canal and a short walk to the metro (allow 15-20 mins from main sights). However, there is no kitchen and there is a cost for luggage storage. For a shared dorm room it was quite expensive as well. Atmosphere in the bar is very social, and overall a good stay.

I stayed at a few St. Christopher's locations, but this one was not as good. To start off on a good note, the staff were very kind and happy to help. The bar has cheap drinks for guests. The location is decent, short walk to Crimee station. Breakfast was tasty and affordable. Unfortunately, in my experience, this hostel was not very social. Even though staff host events nightly, groups did not stay together. Night life was not very good. The facilities are not very modern. There was no USBs at my bed, only one electrical outlet. They could be cleaner. Unfortunately, during my stay, the elevator kept breaking. Even though they kept bringing the technician back in, it was quite an inconvenience for many guests with luggage, staying at higher floors. It's a decent stay for the price. If you're looking to party, I would go elsewhere.

Overall pretty decent Hostel, the bar is extremely sociable, they have free events each night - and the location is good. Negatives were mainly with the dorms, I was on the fifth floor, the elevator was broken with seemingly no intention to fix it, which meant I had to carry my 80L bag up five flights of stairs, and again when my key wasn’t working. My friends also found that the women’s bathroom on the second floor were shut, which meant they all to queue for access to the disabled ones, which was near impossible considering the demand for it on that floor. If the prices for the dates of your stay are fairly low, I’d recommend staying here :))

St Christopher's is a beautiful hostel to stay. Over the years, I have stayed in different hostels in Europe. But St. Christopher is one that I really enjoyed. Theire customer service is top-notch. The people at the reception are very caring and helpful. The Paris canal that goes beside the hostel is a beautiful site. You can sit beside it and enjoy the sunset or have a walk around. There are lots of restaurent around to taste cuisine from different countries within a walking distance. Only one thing I would suggest for St. Christopher for improvement. Please offer variety of items in breakfast every other day. It becomes a bit boring to take the same breakfast every day. Otherwise you are 5 star.

I stayed there for 3 nights and I am very satisfied with the service. Clean, polite staff, nice location near the cannel, breakfast and etc. They could allow us to leave our baggage after checkout for free. Reserve from their website and enjoy your wonderful trip to Paris... :)

Lifts doesn't work which makes this place less worthy. If it start working, I would give this place a rating of 5 for being on the best place, having bar and amazing social gathering opportunities. Beds are also fine, comfortable and with separate curtains. Washrooms have been separated which causes less noise in the room.

Very pleasant hostel with caring thoughtful staff. Convenient for getting around Paris. Bed spaces are clean and well thought out. The local area has a lot to offer if you are more of a traveler than tourist. Thoroughly recommended.

My first time staying in a hostel and one of the best. Check in was speedy, rooms feature a sink, large window overlooking the canal (mine did at least - I appreciate I may have been lucky to have a room facing it). Beds have sizeable luggage storage which can be padlocked, as well as plug sockets and privacy curtains. Bathrooms are communal and appeared clean and tidy. Only complaint being there was only two shower stalls and given the whole floor share the bathroom plus there was a heatwave at the time of staying, there was often a wait for one to become free. The bar downstairs is good - reasonably priced drinks, the food is quite a bit on the pricier side though. The hostel put on free activities each night for people to meet and chat (e.g. Cocktail making, crepe making and wine & cheese were on offer during my stay. The breakfast is okay, selection of cold meats, cereal, yoghurt and toast. At €7 I’d say it’s the minimum of what I’d expect. The hostel is a short walk from the nearest metro station which will take you into the city centre, or to walk to the city would be only about an hour and a fairly pleasant walk. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here, met some really cool people and it was geared up to exactly what I as a backpacker wanted. 100% recommend to anybody, and would definitely stay here again.

During my recent trip to Paris, I booked a private room at St. Christopher's In Paris through Airbnb, and it turned out to be a positive experience. We arrived late at 11:30 PM, and the reception warmly welcomed us with a drink. The ground floor had a pleasant bar, the room was tidy, and the bathroom was well-maintained. While the offered breakfast was only average, the overall experience was enjoyable. I would consider staying there again in the future.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at St Christopher's Inn Paris Canal during my solo backpacking trip, and I must say that it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I knew it was going to be a memorable experience. One of the standout features of this hostel was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I had the opportunity to meet incredible people from all around the world, which truly enriched my travel experience. Whether it was sharing stories over a pint at the bar or exploring the city together, the hostel provided the perfect environment for socializing and making lasting connections. As a first-time backpacker, I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the rooms and beds. St Christopher's Inn Paris Canal maintains a high standard of cleanliness throughout the hostel, ensuring that guests feel comfortable and at ease during their stay. The rooms were tidy, well-maintained, and provided a cozy retreat after a long day of exploring the bustling streets of Paris. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the exceptional service provided by the staff, especially Lys. Her dedication to ensuring a memorable experience for every guest was truly remarkable. Not only did she offer a friendly smile and a warm welcome, but she went above and beyond to make sure that my stay was enjoyable and hassle-free. Her genuine care and attention to detail made a significant impact on my overall experience at St Christopher's Inn Paris Canal. In addition to the excellent service, the hostel offers a range of amenities that further enhance the stay. The on-site bar and restaurant provided a convenient and lively gathering place, where I could relax, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. The common areas were well-designed and spacious, providing ample opportunities to mingle with fellow travelers or simply unwind after a day of sightseeing. The location of the hostel is another noteworthy aspect. Situated near the scenic Canal Saint-Martin, it offers easy access to some of Paris' most charming neighborhoods and landmarks. Whether it was strolling along the canal, discovering local cafes and shops, or hopping on a nearby metro to explore the city further, the hostel's location was truly ideal for getting a taste of authentic Parisian life.

Roman helped us, check in to our rooms, was great service we also got a free drink, so that was super cool! The room we got was super nice, had our own private bathroom too! The only bad things I'd say was the mattresses were weird cause they were two thin mattresses on one bed and you'd fall between the cracks or matress would fall off the side! There is a bar incorporated into the hostel and they were having a Halloween party that night so it was loud until about 2am! We did have to pay for breakfast the next morning, which was alright, but they could definitely have more options such as bacon and eggs, maybe some french toast! Overall would recommend, was good for a hostel and the price we paid!

I didn't stay in the hostel but needed a place to hangout while it rained since I arrived in Paris very early in the morning. It is very close to the metro. You can get breakfast there and charge your phone. The reception was accommodating. The overall vibe of the restaurant is good.

This hostel was fantastic. Everything was clean and comfortable. The staff members were happy to help at all times. I would definitely recommend coming here. The only complaint I would have is that the rooms were warm due to lack of air conditioning

Amazing hostel!! The position is great, it s situated on a canal full of bars and cafes , perfect for nightlife!! It has a great sport bar downstairs and lounge where it is easy to meet all travelers. Really liked the rooms as well, very spacious !

Everything’s fine, the price is really good and for that you got everything you need. It’s all a bit outdated and some things are quite worn out, but for the price I can’t complain. But despite that no one checked our health passes (COVID vaccine passes). I found that to be fatal because you share a room with so many different people, and if one of them is infected, no one will know and everyone is gonna carry it back home. I think that’s very irresponsible. They should at least make it clear on their website, so that everyone who comes to the hostel is informed about the risk. Everywhere else it’s common sense, that the health pass is being checked, otherwise you won’t get anywhere. And for everyone who’s not vaccinated: at least they could bring a test that is being checked.

We stayed in a private room and it exceeded our expectations. The room is big, beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are an example of a clean property. Besides, the staff is amazing and really helpful, specially Liz! We’d definitely stay there again.

The staff doesn't treat customers well at all, except for a few women at the front desk. No place where people can hang out together. If you want to enjoy the atmosphere, you have to buy something to eat or drink.

  • 5/5 Michelle C. 9 months ago on Google
Great if you’re solo traveling! They host events in the bar area at 8pm so you get to meet other travelers. Elevators aren’t working unfortunately at the moment). The bathrooms are really clean. And down the hall from the rooms. The room itself has a table if in case you need to get work done. The lobby also has a quiet area for work. Great wifi (was working remote and it was the first hostel out of 3 with solid wifi all around) They’ve got a vending machine with quick essentials (chargers shampoo, deodorant). There’s a mart down the street if you’re hungry but you get a discount at the bar (belushis) which is convenient.

I recently had a highly disappointing experience with St Christopher's Inn Paris - Canal, which compelled me to share my feedback. After booking a stay with the hotel, circumstances changed, and I promptly requested a cancellation and refund within 24 hours, in full compliance with consumer protection laws. Unfortunately, the response I received was far from satisfactory: the hotel proceeded to cancel my reservation without issuing a refund. This decision not only contradicted the regulations set forth to protect consumers, but it also left me feeling deceived and frustrated. The lack of transparency and failure to honor the refund rightfully due to me was deeply disappointing. Moreover, the hotel's refusal to provide a clear explanation for their actions only exacerbated my dissatisfaction. It is disheartening to witness such disregard for customer rights and fair treatment. If the hotel was unwilling to refund the money, the booking should not have been canceled in the first place, as it gives the impression of unjustly withholding funds from consumers. I believe it is crucial for potential guests to be aware of the hotel's inadequate customer service and disregard for consumer rights. I sincerely hope that the management of St Christopher's Inn Paris - Canal addresses their flawed approach to customer service and takes necessary steps to rectify this matter.

Rooms were very clean, bar downstairs was super convenient for late night snacks. Felt safe in the area and in the building with 24/7 security and desk service. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Near transit, 30m walk (15metro) from Gare L'est. About a 40m metro to Eiffel tower. Shops in area have decent hours.

  • 3/5 Josh C. 10 months ago on Google
My only complaint, which is a big complaint, is that the rooms are INSANELY hot. Like waking up every few hours covered in dripping sweat hot. The windows barely open and there’s no a.c. Most rooms on our floor had to prop their doors open to get a little air flow but didn’t help much. Some fans or something would probably make it okay. Other than that, everything is great! Location is good, close to the metro. Restaurant/bar downstairs is amazing. Events are great. It just all goes downhill when you have to go to your room lol

Went here late last year for a week, an absolutely great place for people wanting the real travelling experience. Staff are great, rooms have lockers, bathrooms are clean but the real steal with this place is the social aspect. Met some absolutely cracking mates in there common/open room and definitely wouldn’t have that experience anywhere else!

  • 4/5 Aurélien D. 2 years ago on Google
The staff is generally nice but the room where I stayed for 2 nights was shared with people that were not of the most respectful kind, they left the room dirty and made noise and talked loudly when some others were sleeping. I had the same feeling with most of the other residents. However their restaurant have great burgers so I would recommend this place for the food.

Stayed for a few days with friends and had a great time. stayed in a 12 bed room and didn't feel unsafe at all, plus big hefty cages under the bed to store stuff, as long as you bring your own lock. Beds themselves were comfy, they had a shelf, a light and outlets but no usb ports. Bathrooms were cleaned regularly, though there was some construction at the time went, didn't impact our stay much. Great staff, both on reception and the bar, and a decent amount of services on offer like laundry and storage lockers. Location was good too, great for walks along the canal, 5 minutes to the nearest metro lines by foot.

I had made three refundable bookings and finally decided to go with this hostel looking at the ratings and I was so wrong to do that. I went to three cities on this vacation and this was the most terrible and most expensive stay of them all. First and foremost, when I arrived, I learned that their elevator doesn't work. When I told them about medical issues with my back, they said they can't help me because I needed to inform them earlier. How was I supposed to know their elevator is out of order? They offered no help at all even for medical concerns. I had to hire help to get my stuff up to the fourth floor and back down. Second their location is actually not that great. Yeah it is canal side but for the more practical things, it is not well connected with public transport. Finally they have no concept of 'services'. No kitchen or fridge, showers are poorly designed where the dirty water from adjacent bathroom comes into your stall, the toilets and showers are in the same area so you can smell everything even while you are trying to clean yourself up. Vending machines are out of order just like the elevator, lockers are coin operated and the biggest one did not fit a standard large check in bag. Please don't stay here.

I APPRECAIATED THE STAY, RECEPTIONNIST ARE WELCOMING, ROOMS ARE CLEAN AND PRICES ARE COMPETITIVE. I RECOMMAND IT

For this price I expect only one thing, hygiene. And it was very clean. Shared shower and toilet are washed multiple times a day and the bed sheet were clean and fresh

This hostel is pretty nice! The room was pretty good, bathroom was in the hall and was reasonably clean considering it’s a hostel - room for improvement. Bed was comfortable. Belushi’s downstairs was nice, good food! Free sangria ran out within 2 minutes which was disappointing, not enough to go around. Hard to meet people, most people were in groups.

This is an amazing place to stay for young people from the ages of 18 to 33. The environment is fun, lots of activities that the hostel does every day. I would wish the dorms have more ventilation ‘cause it can get really hot. But the beds are comfortable and clean. With the metro you get to everywhere in Paris so the location is good

  • 5/5 Nleo 9 months ago on Google
The dorms and bathrooms were clean. There is plenty of space and lockers in the dorm rooms. The staff was friendly and the hostel bar is nice with budged friendly prices. You have food access to public transport, which makes it easy to get to the Center. The over all price for a bed was quite expensive. But that’s Paris, I guess.

  • 4/5 Julien 2 years ago on Google
Nice and clean with a great, central location. Each bed has curtains to close it off and a pretty large and secure storage box. The only downside was that it is a very noisy location with a ton of people laughing and yelling around the canal, but obviously that is not the inn's fault.

  • 3/5 Fabian B. 5 months ago on Google
Kind of a mixed bag. In summary I'd say this Hostel has great overall concepts, but falls apart when it comes to details and execution. Rooms: Decent and large rooms with power plugs and curtains at every bed. Unfortunately the Lockers (basically oversized cages) are clumsy to use and create a lot of noise. Beds are okay, but quite squeaky. My biggest issue is with the doors to the dorms. They are half broken and difficult to close, so most of the time all dorm rooms are just open all day and night (this was the case for our entire floor). This should definitely be fixed. The beds are also missing little cupboards to put the phone / wallet during the night. Bathrooms: Overall seem a bit run down and in need of renovation. On the plus side they are cleaned often, but due to high amounts of guests dirty quickly again. Some of the showers are in need of repair (e.g. inability to change temperature etc.) Bar: The hostel has a massive sports bar downstairs with decent quality and priced food and drinks. Important to note though, it's a public bar. So it's impossible / hard to figure out who is a hostel guest. This makes socializing pretty hard in my opinion. I'm not a big fan of this concept. Maybe just reserve a corner of the pub for hostel guests. Then it would get way more straight forward. On another note, breakfast is a good value for money as well, I'd definitely consider booking it. Common Area: Besides the bar there is a pretty basic common area with some chairs and desks. It's okay, but pretty plain and not very inviting to hang out. It would definitely benefit from some design improvements. Hostel Events: Every day at 8 there is a little hostel event. Great idea and highly appreciated especially since the pub is public and therefore quite anonymous. Unfortunately some of the events felt like ticking a box and doing the bare minimum. It would be great if the staff could take a little longer to initiate ice breakers, get conversations going etc. In the current setup the events seem a bit underwhelming. Staff: Exceptionally friendly and supportive staff. Nothing to add, great job! Summary: Overall it's an okay hostel, but I wouldn't fully recommend it especially not for solo travelers. Focusing more on the little details would go a long way of improving things and making it an amazing experience.

Nice place for the price you pay for sure. Had a bit of a mix up with what we booked online, the type of room. However once we checked in and realised the staff were quick to help as well as they could. Couldn’t get it fixed for the night as it was all booked but was changed free of charge for the next night. Feels like a safe place, you need a key card to get anywhere in the building so that’s reassuring. The food is nice here also, and the bar / restaurant below has an awesome lively atmosphere with lots of travellers and fun games and events the hostel puts on for free. Highly recommend this place, just make sure you triple check your booking for any issues so you can try and get it fixed in time.

Our stay at canal was perfect, facilities super clean. The bar was really nice with great views of the canal. The location good too with close links to metro. The team are really friendly and helped us with recommendations of places to go

The hostel is ok. I had my own private room at the room is really basic. There is no hair dryer or other amenities in the room. The bathroom is also small and the wash basin did not have enough place to stand. The elevator was closed for most part during my stay (My room was on the 6th floor and I did not mind it, but for people with knee issues?) The best part is the staff which works there. They are friendly and speak english. Anna? at the front desk answered all my questions patiently. Belushi restaurant has good food.

The hostel is on top of a bar. There was a private party, so the vibe of the place was youthful and fun. We checked in and went down for a drink.

One of the most economical hostel in Paris especially if booked through hostel.com Pro: Clean, Friendly Staff, Well connected with metro, nice neighbourhood, lots of food option nearby. Cons: No Kitchen Facility, if someone wants to do self-cooking, it is not possible. You can only warm the food. Advice: Bring your one locker to keep luggage. They have place underneath bed, but you need to have your own locker to safe it.

  • 4/5 G W. 2 years ago on Google
Great location, and it's affordable on weekdays. There is a bar and restaurant attached which makes it easy to pre-game if you are into that. There is only one common area, and sometimes- surprise!- it's closed for private events or something. That's really difficult if you have some food to eat or a phone call to make or any online work that requires a voice. The lockers are a real issue. Holy noise machines! Anytime anyone in my dorm would open their locker you would hear "I'm sorry" in as many languages as they know. With dorms having 10+ beds you are going to have people getting in and leaving at odd hours. Bring earplugs or don't sleep.

I am not giving 5 stars because perfection is impossible. The customer service is amazing! From helping to get a taxi to suggesting a budget option to keeping our huge luggage in a safe room as a complimentary service to the super courteous and helpful fellow lodgers at the Inn with a lovely view of the canal, I cannot but recommend.

bathroom cleanliness can definitely improve. lockers are available for 0.5 euro per hour or 4 euro per day. breakfast is ok and its included if you book directly on their website. environment is good and safe.

The food in the restaurant below was good and people staying at the hostel got a discount. The staff was helpful and friendly and spoke different languages to fit to their guests. The bathrooms were clean and the rooms, but there was an odor in our room each night. Not sure if it was from the people or the room itself. Met some nice people and overall a great stay. Plus the location on the canal is very cool.

It's good. Bit expensive but affordable. Services could have been better. I lost my power banks. They do not provide locks. I booked two beds but I only got one Room key that made very difficult to me and my friends. But there is a Heater.

This place is a great hostel itself. But furthermore, the staff is very friendly and very helpful if you need anything else. I had a difficult experience with a car rental company and I didn’t speak French, so they helped me sort everything out. They made a call for me and let me use their printer. Most of all, they were happy to do so. This is definitely an amazing place for someone traveling alone, or someone traveling for the first time!!

I have had the worst experience with St Christopher’s, I had booked my stay with them for 3 nights and was charged in full in advance, I got late on the day of check in as my flight got delayed and I had no way to contact them, as I reached my hotel a few hours late (4am of the next day of my check in day) I was told they had already cancelled my booking and given the rooms that I had blocked for 3 days to someone else. Further my entire amount was forfeited by them. Later when i contacted booking.com I was told that this was really unlike any of their partners and that St Christopher’s hadn’t even put any notifications through to them when they cancelled my booking and that I was eligible for a refund, however the hotel wouldn’t agree. I felt cheated as they charged me in full and also gave it to someone else making double the revenue. Highly suggest not to stay there

Facility: too old, smell so bad !!! Bathroom is not cleaned, clogged toilet, the room also has a mushy, musty smell. Also seems like the mattress and pillow wraps were not regularly changed. Safety: there are drawers to put your stuff in, but no locks. Bring your own locks. Guest: we choose option of: shared room with male and female, so they put us (4 girls) with 6 male guest. The thing is, the room is close to the female bathroom, and some male guests often use it (maybe by mistake). So we should be decent also in the shared bathroom as well...At 4 AM, one of the male came back to the room, open the blind of my bed and start yelling "This is my bed! She is in my bed!!" (I was not). The bed assigned letters (A, B, C, D,...) are not clear that they may confuse guess at dark time!! Staff: kinda ok, not too friendly/supportive, but decent enough.

the hostel is really good. It is so well located, right next to the canal, and the staff is really friendly and kind. Also, the rooms are so comfy and clean, you will access to them with a card. If you are a woman and don't fancy mixed bedrooms, you do have the option to stay in female rooms. The hostel sadly has no kitchen, but they do have some assets in the bar next to it. In general I would definitely recommend it.

This hostel was awesome. The staff was amazing, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the bar was nice and the food was decent. The area isn’t the best at night. Do not travel alone at night. Make sure to bring a heavy duty lock with you to lock up your belongings. My roommates got their lock cut and all their belongings stolen. You can get pickpocketed and mugged very easy at night. Just be careful at night.

Amazing hostel with a great atmosphere. We stayed in an 8 bed dorm for 2 nights, which was spacious and also had good privacy (curtains along the bed and cages to keep our bags in). My friend’s cage was broken which was a minor inconvenience. Welly made us feel extremely welcome, and was very entertaining hosting beer pong competitions in the bar and making sure we were settled. The showers were a bit spotty and sometimes didn’t work well, but it was okay for a short stay. Near metro stations for easy transport and the atmosphere in the bar every night was amazing. Would definitely recommend for short stays!

Nice, atmospheric location net to canal. I've been told that the area has a 'not great' reputation - but I think as long as you're not unlucky and you have your wits about you then you should be fine. I didn't feel intimidated at any point. The hostel I found really good, pleasant staff, decent food and drinks, and I met some nice people there! Would stay again!

It was my first stay in a hostel. I would not hesitate making this statement that it was an amazing experience. The staff was really friendly. The facility was kept neat and tidy. One gets to meet a lot of new people in such a kind of arrangement.

The hostel was very nice. The bar/restaurant was great. The location wasn't the greatest. It's a little ways from the tourist area. Stay off the river walk at night. The rooms were clean and nice. The beds were comfortable 😌

The place is okay it's definitely in a not so safe area lots of graffiti not that appealing to the eye. The living quarters is pretty old but seems to be maintained. I got a single room to myself which was super small so I had to check out and find another place. But they have a nice bar which has a lot of activity at night the socializing so that

loved it here! super nice and welcoming people - hosts and guests, this hostel seems to attract great people! Rooms were great, beds comfortable and beautiful location. BUT its not safe at night there, my taxi driver called me "crazy" for staying in this district while traveling solo as a woman BUT the hostel itself is super safe with a 24/7 security man at the door and the fact you can only really get into the hostel part with your room card.

This hostel is terrible service is imposible to enter the room before 14 hrs you cannot leave your luggage in storage like in normal hotel as well horrible neighborhood they said in web to do transfer to airport now they don't is the worst ever don't stay here even is cheap ! Better hostels in montmartre for 25 euro

It’s not the cleanest hostel, but you get what you paid for. I’ve stayed in hostels that were much cleaner. The bathroom doors and handles don’t get cleaned. I stayed on the 1st floor for a week and there are was never any hand soap. Had to bring my own or go into the shower and use the bath gel. The rooms do get swept and wiped every day, but the walls and the outlet in each bunk should be wiped & sanitized. I never saw that being done by cleaning staff when someone would check out. However, I did appreciate the work room, but it would be Hard to get work done after a certain time in the evening due to music from the bar. The food from the bar was great! Loved having the discount for food and drinks. Reception staff were very friendly, Ana was my favorite!! Great location to and from the metro!

Stayed for 2 nights with 2 friends. Overall was very good. We stayed in a 12 bed female dorm and the beds were quite good. There was a lot of space in the room. The beds all had curtains which was a great touch. Bathrooms were generally very tidy, although 2/4 of the shower doors didn’t close properly for some reason. The hostel has a bar attached, and if you are on the 1st floor with the windows open it is quite noisy. No way of shutting the windows in the summer unfortunately as there was no AC but wasn’t too bad. Free breakfast included was pretty standard. Missing croissants though. The reception staff were very friendly as well. You are also given 25% off food in the bar below, and the food was incredible. The location is okay, definitely not walkable to any of the iconic sites, meaning the metro will be your best friend. About a 40min journey to the Eiffel Tower. Overall was a great stay and would definitely stay again.

Great location just outside the main part of Paris. The metro is only a couple blocks away or you can walk to the main section. It’s a normal hostel. Not much extra space in the room and only a couple bathrooms on each floor. It wasn’t that loud at night. There’s lockers that you’re able to store your items in if you arrive early or have time to spare when checking out.

Nice hostel in a very cheap district of Paris. Wouldn't want to walk there from the metro station at night in a miniskirt though. Bathrooms are clean and storage boxes are fine. My shoes got stolen though, therefor 4/5 stars

No covid pass required, neither for the hostal nor the bar. Found my stuff in a plastic bag at the reception on my second day of the stay, someone else got my bed that day.

The staff here were super helpful, and the community events were great. I made a lot of friends here, especially compared to some of the smaller, less social hostels I’ve visited. The rooms are a little bare-bones but exactly what I paid for. The bathrooms and showers are pretty good, and there’s more than enough capacity - I never had to wait for a stall. However, there were two major downsides. The wifi isn’t great from high up in the building, to the point where I don’t think I got more than one bar except on the ground floor. Also, this one’s a big deal: I was assigned a room on Floor 4, and the elevator’s been broken since July apparently. It would be great if guests could be warned of that ahead of time, I was definitely a little blindsided. Other than that, I loved my experience here! The staff did a good job and the other guests were great. Highly recommend (especially if you can get a room low to the ground, haha)

Pedro the Argentinian excels at his job! You can tell he's a real traveler himself & offers the service he likes to encounter, with a sensible understanding of the guest needs. Helpful and friendly staff, I'd also say about the rest I briefly interacted with. The building is quite pretty from the outside and in a privileged location by the canal. Beautiful by night and practical during the day if you're a runner. You can easily run 10km alongside it back and forth. Though it's technically more of a party hostel, it can still work for you even if you're not into that vibe. A quiet small dorm with comfortable beds for a good rest and free breakfast, basic yet nutritious, with eggs, veggies, ham, yogurt, fruits, etc., do the job. The only thing I didn't like was the air-conditioning/inner ventilation system constantly shoved in the rooms. It's unhealthy and it gets cold. Plus, it gets you to breath whatever everyone else in the building is breathing. Tricky in pandemic times. Even though it's not perfect, it's good value quality-price overall. I left happy & I'd be happy to return.

Great location next to many metro lines. Lovely views from the rooms and as you eat. The staff are all lovely and multilingual so that's cool. The food and drinks were amazing and the pricing is fantastic!! Highly recommend, even if you aren't staying there. The rooms were your typical hostel rooms though I did like that the beds had privacy curtains. First time I'd seen that.

Really enjoyed my time here. I came back two separate times. Both times I met amazing and friendly people in the shared dorms. Privacy curtains, outlets, and lights in the beds. Linen included. Bathrooms kept clean and have hairdryers. You do need your own lock for the luggage space or they sell them for 4€. The luggage space is large and they also have lockers in the basement for rent. 25% food in the restaurant on the first floor. The chicken sandwich was great. Had different events each night such as beer pong, pasta night, make your own mojitos, and more. Breakfast included if you book through their website directly. The elevator is currently broken, not sure when it’ll be fixed. There are handicap bathrooms. Laundry takes coins. There’s a microwave and small lounge area. The staff are always friendly and helpful. One of my favorite hostel experiences

Great hostel that has very friendly staff who are always willing to help. Most of the staff also speak 2-3 or more languages which makes it good for travellers. Most speak French, English and Spanish. The hostel has events every night/evening that facilitates socialising and meeting people from several places around the world. There is a bar and restaurant on the ground floor which serve good quality food and drinks which are discounted for people staying at the hostel. Free breakfast for people who book directly on their website or in person. Rooms are adequate although some things are a bit old like the lights and furniture. Bathrooms are quite mediocre or below average. But all facilities provided do the job and definitely acceptable for the cheap prices paid.

Spent a week here in early December. The rooms were fine, the bathrooms were good and were kept clean but the showers are on a timer that is very short and made it kind of difficult to take a good shower, but we made it work. The hostel sells anything you might’ve forgotten (shower shoes, locks, etc) for a decent price. Welly took such good care of my friend and I. He provided us with recommendations and answered all of our questions and requests. He has an amazing spirit and the best part of the hostel in my opinion. Thank you Welly!

I don't normally write reviews but this Hostel made me. My experience at this hostel wasn't the best. It is a very busy hostel so reception lines are always long. So I waited a long while to check in. After I did, I accidentally used the woman's bathroom because the door was open and there wasn't proper indication that it was the woman's bathroom apart from the French term for women. When I came back to my room, one of the staff came to me and rudely said that if I were to go into the woman's bathroom again, I would be kicked out. There's always a way of talking to people and she didn't know how to talk nicely. The next day, when I came back from a day trip in the evening, I tried to use my room card to get into my room but it didn't work so I had to go to reception and because reception is always busy, I had to wait long. Finally they fixed the issue in the end. Also, in the toilets, the flush didn't work and plus there wasn't any dryer to dry your hands. Also the lifts always took so long that I just ended up using the stairs. So with these factors combined, my stay at St Christopher's Canal was unsatisfactory. Despite these issues, I met some really nice people in my room and the bar seemed like a good place to meet people and talk amongst others.
