I was in Austin for 2 days and ended my evenings here both nights, that’s how much I liked this spot. Classic dive bar vibes, in the absolute best way! Cold beer, fantastic prices and the owner provided impeccable service behind the bar. Cozy environment but still lively enough to be exciting - will be back the next time I’m in town for sure.

A good bar. Albeit, one with flaws. While it excels in jukebox selection, setting, and service, it lacks in affordability and hot deals. And while it’s certainly not a bad thing for the Ownership, it does get a bit packed.

Barflys is my favorite dive bar since Hard Luck Lounge closed. It's definitely not fancy, but the music is great, the people are mostly chill locals, the bartenders are friendly and helpful, specials are good, and they have plenty of pool tables (dive bar must-have). We happened accidentally to be there for their 20th anniversary the other night, and they gave everyone shots of something out of a spare gas can (I asked the guy pouring what it was and he said "I didn't make it" 😂) but it was actually pretty good and went perfectly well with my Lonestar and it was hilarious to watch him walk around with it. It is largely indoors, but there is some decent outdoor seating, and everyone was masked up. I'm not that far north often, but I absolutely love stopping in when I am! Definitely give it a go!!

Strong drinks and chill bartenders. Come onthe off days for a cool time. This is one of my fav dive bars left in north central. $7 for 2 tequilas

The stairway to nirvana known as Barfly's is the brightest gem in Austin. The drinks are poured generously, the beers are ice cold, and the prices are great. The jukebox is packed with great tunes, as well. There is consistently great service and the staff is super friendly. Proud to call this my neighborhood bar, and its servers my friends.

If you know, you know. This was one of my old stomping grounds almost 20 years ago! Watched this place go from a simple neighborhood dive bar filled with crazies like myself. Staffed with some of the best bartenders you could ask for and the owners where a lot of times behind the bar. One of the best juke boxes in TX at the time filled with music we liked! It was a hidden gem we loved and had a very strong loyalty to. Met some freinds there a few days back and was pleasantly pleased to see the old place was still open, dark, still a little bit seethe. The outside area was something we wished for years back and now she has it. I hope she stands the test of time with the growth of the town. Just a great neighborhood hide out to grab a drink.

Staff was friendly. Tight space for pool tables, but we managed, and had a great time. Drink prices are fair.

I've lived in Austin for 4 years, and this is my favorite dive bar in the city. There's a nice patio out back for smokers, or just to get outside on a nice night, and the inside is cozy and has that ambiance people who love dive bars look for. If you're passing through town and want somewhere not far off the interstate to visit, this is a gem.

Barfly's is always a great choice to play some pool and take it easy. Albert is a super cool dude who will take care of ya too! He makes a mean Jamison and ginger too. 💚🥂💚
