Loro Austin- I keep going back for one reason- the food, okay maybe the drinks, or maybe the ambience. Loro is always busy but the 20 to 30 minute wait always goes by quickly. They have a big outdoor seating area with misting fans for those hot Texas summers. The pork ribs are a must and are only served on Sundays and Mondays. Brisket is also great. For apps, you gotta go with the chicken karaage. There’s no way to try everything in one trip so make sure you plan out what to get the next time you go.

Bleh. I wasn’t expecting to like this place and yeah I was right. Okay so it wasn’t bad! But definitely not worth the hype that it was getting from almost everyone I know! Food was decent but nothing of a WOW factor. I think food can better executed. I was quite disappointed that they just threw in a bundle of cilantro and called it a day on the garnishes! Haha yeah, pretty much all my dishes were heavily filled with cilantro or green onions. I love cilantro but not on every single dish! Pork belly 1/5 I ate one piece and called it a day. It was heavily drenched in sauce. Pretty much inedible for me. It was hella salty! I needed a good cup of ice tea after one bite. I think the sauce was just too over powering. With that said, I do like the fact that the pork belly was quite tender. Loro cheeseburger 3/5 Well it wasn’t bad! However it was poorly executed. The burger itself was lopsided. Ingredients weren’t evenly distributed throughout the burger. One side would have all the cheese and onion jam and the other side barely had any. I think it’s a good burger but nothing crazy. Wish it was cooked to medium rare and not well done. It was quite dry tasting even with the aioli! I do like their pickles on it though! Smoke oaked salmon bowl 3/5 okay I enjoyed the salmon a lot! It was perfectly cooked, and had a nice charred or smokey taste to it. However, that was it for me. The fish sauce that came with it was okay. Not bad. But this dish itself was quite tangy! Citrus on top of citrus. It was unbearable. That tang just kind of threw my taste buds off. The rice was soaked in a yuzu sauce, so that was already tart. Then there was all the pickled veggies underneath. Even the fish sauce had a tang. I think it was just too overwhelming with citrus for me. Maybe a little more salt & spice. Less tang. Crispy potatoes 4/5 I liked it. Can’t go wrong with carbs. haha yeah and the aioli was on point. Probably my fave sauce from them. Can dip anything into it! Smoked brisket 3/5 hella pricey for just a few pieces. Very tender and moist but lacked salt. Needed more a Smokey taste to it. I didn’t take a picture of it bc I was too hangry at one point. Haha Chicken karage 5/5 love me some fried chicken. And thy ear were nice and crispy! Hella crunch. It was also served with their aioli. Amazeballs. It had a nice little kick from the chili sauce glaze on top. No complaints on this one! Overall, food was decent but like I said, nothing of a wow factor to drive my taste buds into an explosion of flavors. Enjoyable and a great place to hang out. I really loved the large open space and patio area. I would come back on a nice day out and eat lunch here. A little pricey for casual bites but nothing too crazy. I just dislike the ordering at the bar, paying and seat yourself concept. There’s really no service. And when the dishes came out, they kind of just dropped it off and didn’t explain the dishes. So I’m tipping pretty much on nonexistent service even before the food came out. And even after, not a lot of servers are readily available to help ya out. Napkins and drinks were pretty much self served. Eh but that’s just me. But I’ve noticed a lot of restaurants are doing that now so maybe it’s a trend that’ll stick and I’ll just have to get used to it.

WORTH THE WAIT! Was surprised wait time was 45 minutes on a Monday night, but it was definitely worth it. Service is great and food came out really fast. The pork belly bowl with coconut rice is delicious!

Cool place! Interesting concept. You have to order your food at the bar and get your own seats. The food comes fast. The frozen drinks are pretty good! The food is good, but the portions are small. This would be a great place for dating or casual eating Asian fusion.

A great Asian BBQ fusion restaurant and Bar. Great relaxed atmosphere where outdoor seating under trees and fans to keep you tool. The food is delish. It’s family style sharing. You order at the bar and they bring it out to you. The bar also has a great selection of alcoholic drinks. This is definitely a great spot for afternoon or evening hangout. We tried a few different dishes and none disappointed. I will say this place trend more hip and fancy.

One of my favorite restaurants in Austin. We got the oak smoked salmon bowl, oak grilled snap peas and the crispy potatoes. The oak grilled snap peas are my absolute favorite…the dipping sauce is phenomenal! The mango sake slushy was okay, mostly just sweet (not boozy) but they do have a really nice variety of beers from local breweries!! Love the atmosphere both inside and outside…outdoor patio with really nice ambiance!

Had the best experience here on our first visit so much so we went again a day later. The food, the atmosphere and the service was excellent. Highly recommend their Chicken Karaage, The Malaysian Chicken Curry Bowl, Brisket Plate, the Kale and Pear Salad and their Key Lime Pie. This was our first visit to Austin and Loro was the first place we chose to grab a bite on our visit. We were glad to find a Loro in Houston as well. Same quality in terms of food as Austin but not the same cool vibe. Highly recommend this place if you are visiting Austin. It’s very popular throughout most of the week but their plenty of space.

We had a great experience bringing a big work group here as part of our Austin retreat. We did a tapas tasting menu and worked our way through treats like steak, delicious salmon, corn fritters that were out of this world, and more. All of the dishes were super flavorful and interesting, and great for sharing. We had about 40 people and still experienced really great service. Their frozen drinks were a hit for our out of town people going through the heat waves of their first austin spring. I would definitely come back here again.

Didn't think it would be busy on a cold Tuesday night... wrong. Be prepared for a minimum of 30 minute wait. We were a party of 5 and waited almost 50 minutes. Parking is challenging as well. Check the website. Order at the bar, no table service. The staff was great, Friendly, And quick. Food came out quickly, as it was ready. It was all hot and delicious as it was served quickly, but understand your tables food will NOT come out together. ALL of the food was FANTASTIC. Great amount, worth the cost.

Atmosphere was exceptional, great music, great vibes, and great people. They have so much space it's understandable why they do not have reservations. Do yourself a favor and try something different from their Asian BBQ Fusion. Each meat is moist, tender, and unlike any flavor you have tried before.

My good friend and I came here for lunch today to celebrate his birthday and we were greeted with such wonderful and warm HOSPITALITY by Syd (Squid), Amber, Michael, and Jack! The food was all delicious and comforting - we ordered the sesame rice noodles, crispy potatoes, and the Malaysian curry chicken. Syd was so kind to gift us the sweet corn fritters and the smoked prime bavette? We can't thank your team enough for such a lovely experience and I can't wait to have my friends/family back here! Def. 5 stars!

I am not one to typically venture into any "fusion" style restaurant. I ordered a little "safe," but the smoke beef brisket was nothing short of amazing. Thai herbs were present but did not overwhelm the brisket, a pleasant sweetness to the overall presentation. I would definitely return.

Loved the vibe and concept of Loro. The restaurant was beautifully designed, great outdoor seating. The concept was pretty different than any other place I've been. It has the feel of a really nice restaurant, but you order your food at the bar and then they bring the food to you. It was super crowded but we got our food quickly. I got the brisket, coconut rice and the Texas sweet corn. The brisket was perfectly cooked and had a unique flavor with the Asian take that was awesome, the coconut rice was so so perfect with the brisket. The corn was a miss, not horrible but it was not close to the same level as anything else we had. Tasted like canned corn. The potatoes and edamame were also excellent.

The hype of this place is absolutely real! The rice bowls are definitely delicious! Although I order the pork belly rice bowl I wish the pork belly was a bit crunchier to counter balance with all the softness and add texture, I still think it was really good. The atmosphere is really cool and the interior space is open concept with an option to outdoor space. Overall a great experience.

What a fun and delicious lunch in Austin. We didn’t realise how big the restaurant was but still the service was fast and friendly. We loved the Asian flavours and was surprised to see some Malaysian inspired flavours since we lived in Malaysia. Everything was very good…you can taste all the flavours but nothing was overpowering, which was great.

The vibe is relaxed and fun, the food is unique, and the service was friendly. The food was VERY well executed, and the brisket was my fave. Even at 4:30 on a Saturday, the wait wasn't terrible, and there are plenty of spots to sit and visit with your people. It was a little odd that the individual items came out at different times, but it wasn't a problem. It was a good experience and I plan to come back next time I'm in Austin.

Arrived on a busy night as a solo traveler. Got a seat right at the bar facing the kitchen. All staff were attentive and kind. The food and cocktails were outstanding! Unbelievable flavors. I enjoyed the Malaysian Curry Chicken and pickle plate with the Mandarin Margarita to wash it all down.

I've gone twice for happy hour and the experience on both occasions was exemplary. (I sat at the bar on both occasions.) You can either sit outside on the patio area which is really nice when it's not 108° outside or inside where it's air conditioned. The happy hour menu was very delicious & the wait staff was very attentive and polite. You can still order from the main menu but if you want to get a bigger bang for your buck, happy hour is where it's at.

Every time I’ve come back here, it’s gotten better. The price is surprisingly good at the quality and uniqueness of the food, and the food itself is beyond delicious. However one of the first times I came, there was a peanut in my karaage even though I mentioned that someone in my party had a peanut allergy, and the waitress denied that there was a peanut because it wasn’t in the recipe. (I stupidly ate the peanut to confirm it was a peanut before telling the waitress) but this still felt unacceptable. But I’ve come a few more times and the food has not disappointed and we haven’t had service issues like that again.

Visited Loro with a friend and were seated at the bar after about a 15 minute wait time. The food came out really fast and that was a pleasant surprise. All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly. Portion size vs price is on the higher side. The sandwiches are a la carte and the plates are relatively small though flavored and cooked well.

Loro was a great place to eat lunch. Upon arrival it was noticed that parking is limited. May be due to the fact that they were busy. Nonetheless we did not have to wait much for our food. Upon entering the restaurant the interior was nicely decorated. Having plants and an open concept. Tv’s 📺 are displayed were you can something while you eat. Windows also let you see the trees 🌳 outside which made it all better. We ordered alcoholic drinks. We then ordered corn fritters, crispy potatoes 🥔 loro burger 🍔 smoked wings and Thai curry hot dog 🌭. These dishes were delicious and had a uniqueness about them.

Loro is my favorite place when I travel to Austin for work. Within two weeks I ate there three times. The happy hour lets you have the delicous fried chicken sandwich and chicken karaage for a few dollars off each. The taste is amazing. There is a lot of outdoor seating and on a hot day there is a massive indoor section to cool off. The boozey slushees drinks are amazing during happy hour. Everything is good here and worth the full price. But if you can show up at 2PM might as well as save some money or order extra.

Super lively and fun atmosphere. I also liked the concept of walk-up ordering and self-seating. However, the food was quite a let down for us. After seeing the amazing reviews, I expected really flavorful and solid food, but everything was just okay and quite expensive. We got the corn fritters, a burger, the karaage chicken, and the chicken bo ssam. The corn fritters were fresh and hot, but just didn’t taste like much. The karaage and burger were okay, but again nothing about them wowed us. The chicken bo ssam had the most potential, but it just wasn’t done right in my opinion. They slapped a way too potent curry paste on top of the chicken instead of infusing those Malaysian flavors into the meat. I felt that the flavors were good, but too sharp and out of balance with the rest of the chicken dish.

This place is amazing! We stumbled upon this gem accidentally and it was perfect. Great outdoor space away from the street. Food was excellent! We got the chicken karaage, oak grilled snap peas, and crispy potatoes. To drink, we had the aki sour and mandarin margarita - both were fantastic! Some others in our group got various bowls and loved them. The only thing someone in our party tried that wasn’t a hit was the kettle corn and burnt ends. Just not quite what we were looking for. Highly recommend this spot! Great food, great drinks, & great atmosphere!
