I was there last Saturday with a few friends and family, having a good time until I posed for a photo and got kicked out for showing 'many signs of intoxication', despite having two drinks over a 3 hour period and being the designated driver. Laughable. It didn't end there however, as the security guard wanted to chat with me to see if I was intoxicated. I followed instructions, stepping outside for a 'chat'. They realised I was not intoxicated and then decided to say that I 'appear to be under the influence of illicit substances' - any excuse to kick me out and continue the cycle of getting new people in. The manager apologised and gave me his number to contact him the following day and has not gotten back to me in over a week. The Carter has really gone downhill, steer clear.

Booked for 15 at 9.45pm and waited in line for an hour and a half. At first they didn't let us in due to a haircut and next minute it was due to capacity? Whats the point of booking then? We stood there in line watching multiple people leave the club and multiple people getting let in who weren't even in line. When asking security why these people were getting let in we were told it was because "they have money" yet we were told about three times that "you guys will be next" "bookings are priority". Clearly not ! Just to make things better we were told that we had to pay a $30 entry fee despite there being 2 hours left of them being open and after waiting 1.5 hours for a BOOKING you'd think they'd at least let us in for free ????? We ended up leaving. I suggest spending your money elsewhere because the layout of this place is way too small for dancing anyways.

Went here last night - would not recommend. The Bartenders were rude and aggressive especially on the main level. Poor quality drinks, bad service and I saw them just rinsing cups to clean them. Spend your money elsewhere. Music was good but wouldn’t go back. Btw, some 5 star reviews below looking abit suss.

I walked in 10 mins ago to find a family member and still had to pay $25.20 after not finding him I walked out and the refused to refund me. And then the female manager stated she had no idea. Regardless of the fact I walked in to search not party or dance and such can be found on the camera as so, and the manager refused to give his name stating his name was Henry and then later Bob, smirked and walked away. While security thought the situation was one to play about calling the manager different random names. Anyways others seem to like the venue.

Amazing new burger range. $14 fried chicken Sando was one of the best (and best value) Ive had in years! +$3 side of fries and GL getting a better combo in the CBD for less than a twenty

meant to be a girls night, made a reservation and was looking forward to the evening. however, upon arrival we were refused entry, even though we had a booking. we asked for the possibility to come back later, and the women at the door shut us down, and were disrespectful. despite all that, we accepted their decision and left, though when we turned around, they took photos of us??? what kind of business are you running here?

The Beyonce and Jay Z bar in town, they had me at Kimye cocktails, wings and ribs. This place has a lot of hype, only 2.7 rating on Zomato so i had to check it out for myself. We made a reservation for a Tuesday night via opentable. As we arrived, the place is full of gold scaffolding which looks really cool, it’s more like a bar than a restaurant so we saw our table with my name it and sat down. Grab our own menu and realised it was not table service so went up to the bar to order only to be told there are no cocktails available….none. I was celebrating my sisters birthday so i was pretty annoyed. Why wasn’t i warned? How hard is it to go to Woolies? I was very close to leaving, but we aren’t big drinkers so decided to stay. The bartender offered to make cocktails with what he could and still charged us same price of normal cocktail…whatever. As he started to bring the food over he explained it’s American inspired so the portions are big and maybe we should order from the Lebanese menu…theres another menu? Maybe we would have known that if we were greeted properly. We had already ordered all our food so too late, and you can’t get a bill at the end, you have to open a tab if you want to keep cocktails coming. Don’t get me wrong most of the food was good, if they had the cocktails it would have been a great night. Food is really good value for price. I felt like it was a bit of a failure so took my sister to Koi at Chippendale to end the night on a high. I would definitely try The Carter again, not for a dinner, more for a pre drink destination. They have some really cool stuff coming up too like displays of celebrity items etc. I wanted to love this place, i really did, they made it impossible though. The Carter Chicken Wings (Beyonce’s Hot Sauce Chicken Wings) 8 wings $6 - these were gooooood, not too hot which i love yum! Notorius A.N.I.M.A.L Fries $12- House Made Mac & Cheese, crispy bacon and cheese - yum!! Crispy perfection, mac n cheese and that bacon, one of the best animal fries I’ve ever had yassss Cheesy Hush Puppies $10 - we had to google these to see what they were, pretty much cheese balls, they were too doughy i could only have 1 Nas sticky lamb ribs with house pickles $16 - these were my fav, amazingly sticky, the sauce was delicious, perfect bar food Boy’s Don’t cry cheeseburger with jack cheese, pickles, red onion, mustard and tomato sauce $15 - the bottom bun was completely soggy, not even eatable, so my sister had to pull it apart and just eat the meat, which she said was pretty good but not the point of a burger

Beer taps where out I means it doesn't make sense to have 10+ taps but no tap beer. But, don't let that stop you. Very much a 18-24 bar. Looking for more sophisticated venue, would look somewhere else. The external look, doesn't meet the experience.

The place was packed. Went in with mates on an impromptu plan. The music was good. The staff at the entry however seemed rude. Went out to get some fresh air after asking them if we will be allowed back in. Two minutes later we were refused entry and asked to leave

The carter Sydney was simply unbelievable! What made it amazing was Amie not only rescued my wallet from the abyss but she found me and saved me from a weekend of regret. Amie is the best and only reason I had a great night

First time visiting the venue & was of no disappointment! I met Sammy, a lovely female worker who was friendly & patient with us! The food was divine! The service was incredible & the atmosphere was phenomenal! Thank You!!

Really nice staff, music was quite good too with some 2010s mixed in with it. Bar in the middle, there’s a nice photo spot on the second level of the venue with neon lights and a pool of plastic balls. It’s pink as well, really serves as a good photo opportunity. Overall quite a fun bar/club.

Hehe had my first vodka sunrise here. First experience was amazing and is always a good vibe. Music gets repeated sometimes but in great company anything is fun. Gives such a vibe of a club from a movie (that's a good thing).

We recently held a corporate function at The Carter and were very impressed with the coordination, planning and service of The Carter team. Their organisation made the event very easy to plan. Canapes were delicious and the flexibility around packages was great. I would recommend this venue.

Giving the team at Carter a bloody 5 star because they actually care about their customers unlike other places. My mate was so sick and not feeling well and the 2 guards security that were on Thomas and Kingy really looked after her and myself and put us both in a taxi. Most importantly I really appreciate the venue manager Amie who got on to the guards straight away And made sure we were taken care of, seriously a super woman. Not sure how my night would’ve ended if it wasn’t for them xx

Went here to enjoy their dinner experience - was aware it was a nightclub but didn't know it was also a restaurant. Nothing like it in Sydney. Had an unbelievable banquet - really high quality, really thoughtfully cooked and flavoured dishes, generous portions of amazing food. Really fun, social atmosphere. Service impeccable. All the waitstaff really genuine people and lovely. Just enjoying a yuzu dessert now which is so unique and just incredibly delicious. WOW. Not affiliated with nor making money from saying this, nor do I know the people who own. Really just the most fantastic dinner.

Would recomment not booking any of your events here as the staff and management is deceitful. We had booked a VIP package for my hens weekend. We first entered and are taken to the completely wrong table and had to be kicked out by the bridal party that had booked that booth which was embrassing as we had already settled in the booth. The music when we entered was afro beats and not the kind of music the bridal team enjoyed as were told they usualy play RnB. When we were taken to our actual table, we were asked to pay straight away. After paying, the waitress straight away advised us the music was no changing and "if you hadn't already paid I would've advised you to go somewhere else" because it was not going to be a good night for us. We asked why they didn't tell us this prior. The manger claimed they had advertised this but there was no communication of this event within our emails when organising the night and nothing posted on their social media. They did not allow a refund as we decided we wanted to leave as we were not enjoying the music and vibe at all. We had paid $1600. They allowed us to come back and pick up our alcohol bottles but they insanely rip you off with the alcohol. They charged us $900 for a 1.75 vodka bottle which is usually $200 and $400 for 750ml bottle which is usually $80. So if you want to have a good event and not be ripped off of your alcohol, book elsewhere.

Now open for lunch with an awesome and cheap menu (for the area).. the bar floor menu is Mediterranean with the floor above and below serving different menus (on the Friday we went the downstairs area was serving New Orleans cuisine).. the food and service is excellent and makes The Carter a must try for lunch!

Came here for Tacos Tuesday as our usual place was a bit packed. So surprised for its quality. It's cheap ($3) and good sized. Ordered their American friends too and it was pretty good. During happy hour the drinks are pretty cheap ($5 for a pint of cider) but even when it's not during happy hour their cocktail and wine prices aren't bad at all especially as it's located in the CBD. Will definitely go back some time. The interior design ain't so much my thing but it's pretty chilled and relaxed inside but recommend people coming here after work

Fridays are free entry Saturdays are paid entry after 9 I think…. Anyways this club has got nice music rnb is great and the DJ’s are great people! The bar can get rough of alote of people depending the day especially on Saturday nights it’s busy affff. The place has got great food however wish there were more options (more food)* the manger is great! And the security team is very lenient and not strict ( great people too). People have different opinions and this is mine tbh each place has there days! But I had a great time here, will come again…. Aka (drinks are abit pricey) ya

Paid $530 for watch band hat to wait 2mths for it sent me nice email saying ready come in bring proof. So did. Well did I have appointment was first question at roped off door. You told me to come! Can’t go to service area have to sit and wait your turn not just for service but your turn behind other shoppers. For exclusive brands like this it is worse service than you would get in K Mart 1 hr to get band. Disgraceful.

Booked a work function there last Friday and am very disappointed. Their online reservation system does not work. While trying to book, I made phone calls on several days to try and confirm my reservation with the owner, Chady, and did not receive email confirmation despite multiple requests from me. I eventually received emails from their reservation manager, Amy, who promised to send me the menu so that I can pre-order food - but did not receive this despite multiple attempts at follow up from myself. I then find out in the day of arrival that they no longer do most of the advertised online menu (This has still not been updated, I checked prior to making this review). The only saving grace was the manager, Jared, and his bar staff who were extremely apologetic of my experience, and offered to try and get my group into another restaurant after all the futile hassle I had gone to. I do not recommend this venue for anyone looking for food or trying to arrange group functions

We come here often with out friends. Great food and great service! At night it becomes a nightclub and the atmosphere it is just next level! Love to come to this place to have a good time! I met the Manager once (Thomas) and he took care of us really well making sure the food and the drinks were always on the table at the right time! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great mainstream music and drinks!!! I would definitely want to come back! It was just later on in the night when looking for the women's toilet, the seccy told us to go upstairs and then another one said to go downstairs but then another one told us to go upstairs and another one said go downstairs??? LOL just um?? So we decided to just go home after that (2am?) Overall, despite that happening, my friends and I had a really really good time!

I’m sorry, but I don’t rate this place. The vibe was off, we were there on a Friday night and it felt so flat. Maybe we were there too early, but we left at 8pm-ish and it still hadn’t picked up. The food was great, but the security guard out the front was a bit on and felt very aggressive when trying to give me a stamp.

I've been to the Carter a number of times, it's definitely an outstanding location with unique interior and very photo worthy. On top of that the staff are very nice and friendly and helpful. Their drinks and cocktails are very good. If you're driving (you shouldn't) there's a parking next door but it closes at midnight so my advice is to find a street parking arround. It's not very difficult. I would recommend a visit for sure and I will personally go back again

Great experience. I booked table for birthday party, the male manager was attentive and helpful. Ambiance was fun, lively and has so many spots for good photos Music can be a bit too loud . Music not too bad however could be better. Bartenders are quick and friendly.

Chad the owner is amazing. He made sure my friend got home safe and paid for her entire cab home. The security were really nice aswell. Overall feels like a fun and safe place to go out to.

Love the Carter. Music was epic. I got to celebrate my hens there on Saturday 11th June. The hostess was so accommodating and wonderful. Music was absolutely epic nobody sat down from enjoying it so much.. The only complain would be the bouncer towards us leaving. we were only a group of girls trying to say good bye to one another and make sure a few of the girls got into a cab. He was so nasty, pushing us away and swearing at us. no consideration for the fact that we were only girls and pretty much acted like he owned the street and i think if provoked enough he could become pretty aggressive with the group of us.

Pretty good ambience, pretty good crowd too. Music could get better.

I had 7 vodka and coke during two hours of happy hour (5-7:00) and not even the slightest buzz. Do you water down your booze much?!

Can I just say that the staff downstairs, which mainly caters to younger audiences, upstairs bartenders were very welcoming and hospitable, were mainly focused on catering to women, and on Mardi Gras, the only day where people from the LGBTQIA+ can truly be themselves, I was offered silent hospitality after several women were being catered to and questioned: "Hi, what can I get you?" or "You look sober, do you need another shot?" yet when I reach the bar I am greeted with deadpan expressions and no hospitality whatsoever and had to clearly state what I needed without being asked whatsoever. I find this extremely sexist and exclusive, not only to the gay community but also to men in order to cater to women to be taken advantage of via alcohol and other men.

Will forever be my favorite club in Sydney. Amazing tunes all night long til closing. Always a good time here. They have the loveliest management team and security guards, making sure everyone is safe and have your best interest at heart. Thank you for last night!!

Ground floor layout makes waiting at the bar or passing bar difficult and its the best space to be where you can hear the music properly. Top floor is small and basement space there is no air/little ventilation and you can hear talking over the music. Got there just before 9pm and there was a massive line. Also music drops in and out between rnb classics and random top 40 songs. Was a fun night but personally wouldn't go again

The staff were polite and respectful. I want to give a special mention to Amy who took really good care of my friend when she was heavily intoxicated. Despite her heavily intoxicated state, my friend was treated with dignity and respect and was guided properly. This is the kind of quality service we need at night clubs. The staff genuinely want you to enjoy your night and be safe. The bar had really popular and catchy music on all night - great dj! Overall, great staff and a wonderful place to go clubbing. Would recommend to anyone coming to Sydney, way better than the argyle.

Known for their Beyonce & Jay Z themed venue, they recently revamped the venue and their menu 🙌 @biteandblog and I certainly loved every single dish that we chose: the fried chicken and waffle, prawn croquettes with spicy aioli, prosciutto & rocket pizza and the charcuterie board 😋 So delish! For the drinks we chose Love happy and sir rumi 🍹💕 Make sure to check out the basement and the restroom if you’re there, it’s pretty cool!
