Quite an amazing place to visit! You can see and experience how this ancient method of extracting salt is done, and the amazing different colors and contrasts left behind from the salt built up. It's a free place to visit, and quite nice to walk around. Due to the colors I would advise coming around the end of the day so you still have some daylight to explore, and be delighted with the amazing sunsets this place provides! If visiting during the summer please be aware that the parking spaces are very limited on site, but there are some more widely available parking spaces just 5-7min walking distance.

Really interesting to see. You can walk around the pans and also take a very brief boat trip to Ostraveiro. Depending when in the year you come you can actually see the salt. Now in April there isn't any yet so come in late summer or autumn to see the salt.

Interesting place. Free parking available in the open space over the bridge. You can buy 1kg of the salt at the hut/store for 1 Euro + bargain!

Interesting. If you decide to walk to the end of the canal here in Aveiro then it’s worth a visit. There are boards with info and an obvious walkway through some of the salinas.

I love being here because it's nostalgic for me. Honestly, they're out of season because it's getting colder and if you don't know what you're looking at it's a bit confusing (although, now there are signs explaining the sort of process that the salt goes through.) So it's kind of cool if you go knowing what you're looking at or maybe with someone who grew up around them way back in the day. Would come back in a heartbeat!

It's very well signposted with multiple information boards and even picnic tables but this is not a great attraction out if season when the pans get full with mud and algae. Summer will be the best time to visit to see the actual salt.

As you enter Aveiro from the highway and take a turn by the canal near the barges you can see the salt fields. This is like a working museum into the production of salt in the olden days. The salt produced here is through a natural process with bacteria aiding and has a unique color and texture. There is parking across the bridge or in one of the nearby parking areas and it is a 5 - 10 min walk. You can walk through the fields and view the process. I would recommend visiting this place if you are in Aveiro

Easy access and individual visit of the Salinas with just information panels giving you background information. The surroundings aren't that great, but good for a 30 min. stay to walk along the different salt basins

Interesting place to walk and learn about salt making.

An interesting place to walk around, didn't appear to be in use in early December however the information on the signs and the views in the area still made it worth a visit. We even saw a flamingo!
