Situated just west of the Rhône between Lyon and Avignon, the twisting valleys of the département of the Ardèche are striking in their beauty. Beside the Rhône, the vestiges of dramatic medieval castles look down on vineyards where some of the very finest southern French wines are produced. Consider visiting the picturesque Rhône-side towns of Tournon, Bourg-St-Andéol and Viviers, all strongly marked by religion. Far back in Roman times, Viviers was capital of the Ardèche region, which is therefore also sometimes known as the Vivarais. Continuing west from the Rhône, the terrain becomes much more tortured. Spectacular gorges with rushing torrents are a speciality across the département.

We had a wonderful kids / family canyoning experience today with Canyon Besorgues. Cédric and his young colleague (sorry we did not ask his name) were AMAZING. Both of them were very professional, clear in their information and instructions, patient and super kind with our 5 year old and everyone in the group and encouraging. The canyon was easy for a family with small children and the zip line at the end was COOL!!! The place has all the amenities (toilets, restaurant, bar, shower, parking etc). The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommending the experience!

The water was too cold 😉😉🤪🤪 Just joking. It was super awesome. We were with our family, 2 teenagers aged 12 and 13 and had the times of our lives. Leo, our guide, did very well for his very first time 😉 It's about pushing borders but with a big smile. It's also perfectly fine and doable to skip an obstacle if you don't feel like it. But your guide will try to positively stimulate you.

Had an amazing time here. Beautiful scenery, friendly staff, everyone spoke English to help tourists, the area is well maintained and clean. Loriant, my canyoneering guide, was funny and helpful. He also took pictures for us during the course and just paid him later. We jumped into the water from 2m, 4m and 6meter rock/platform. Won't say more, best if you experience it yourself! One of the best experiences ever.👍

Absolute fantastic. Good organisation, nice guide (Stephane). The 2 kids (10&11 y/o) had the time of their lives. If you are around (we had to drive 1 hour) I reccomend to do it.
