The hotel was a perfect base for our travels in Provence. 5 minutes from Avignon and parking is quite easy both in the city and at the hotel. I would highly recommend booking a dinner at the 1 star restaurant during your stay.

Very nice hotel. Conveniently located. Easy walk to many sites. Room was spacious, as was bathrooms. Concierge and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner and service was topnotch! Only downside was the towel heater didn't seem to work, but we did not let front desk know. Great place to relax after days of sightseeing and wine tasting.

Gardens and old building are beautiful. Pool has a retro 70's look, quite nice. The rest was very poor for a 5☆ hotel! Rooms poorly renovated, no duvet but sheets and a blanket. Air conditioning system pulsing hot air on the balcony of the room, impossible to stand on the balcony if you have AC on! Shower products in big bottles sealed to the wall like in cheap hotels (nice smell though). Mirror in the bathroom falling. Service friendly but so slow, 40 minutes to get drink at the pool, no basic grenadine syrup available for kids (out of stock...), glass dirty at breakfast and poor choice (a shame in a region with such amazing products) and last but not least not possible to get coffee and just a slice of bread if you are 5 minutes late... after breakfast time. A shame for that price.

Nice hotel with lots of drawbacks. Very difficult to find if you are driving. The car park is quite far from reception with a dirt track makes it hard to carry your bags. The restaurant is Michelin star - which means that food quantity is tiny but very decorative you can take nice photos but you will need to walk to the village to a normal restaurant to eat.

We stayed here for our 10th year wedding anniversary and it was a perfect combination of a serene environment while being a short 5 minute drive to Avignon’s city center. The grounds of the property will make you think you are in a French film and the rooms have a rare combination of historic/castle like vibes but with modern amenities (i.e. big shower, bathtub). We also had a balcony overlooking a courtyard that was picturesque. The parking lot on site also made it easy to go in and out of Avignon center with ease.

Sitting in the beautiful gardens listening to the birdsong you realise this is the only place to stay in Avignon and its area. Okay so it's a bit like an English country house, or a much loved and rubbed out teddy bear, but it's still gorgeous and so much preferable to those modern places in town

Major sanitary concerns due to rat excrements on the bathroom window, faulty and consequently melted and dangerous hairdryer, severely moldy air conditioning and mold smell in the room, dirty floors. Booked for two nights, left after the first night after sharing pictures with the hotel director who did not charge us the second night and offered a 20% discount on the first night. It was supposed to be my wife's birthday celebration. What a major disappointment! Nowhere near the Relais & Chateaux standards!

Beautiful hotel in Villeneuve with wonderful and luxurious accommodations. The property and gardens were a pleasure to stay in.

One of the best hotel experiences in the world - the team couldn’t do more, the rooms are luxurious with real character and charm, excellent gastronomy, all without any pretentiousness. A unique place in the heart of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon and just a stones throw from Avignon itself. Having visited for the past 5 years each year, it’s also consistently excellent.

Impeccable. After friends raved about Le Prieuré, I decided to stay during Festival d’Avignon, and my expectations were beyond exceeded. The grounds, the vibe, the food, the room, the location, all divine. The staff were each so lovely from the front desk, the pool, the restaurant. I’d arranged with the concierge to hire an E-bike prior to my arrival and they handled everything perfectly. Bravo.

Hotel 5/5 Restaurant 2/5 Hotel: Nice and spacious rooms, nice pool with towel and service, really nice concierge (I value helpful concierge service) Restaurant: maybe because I personally had a huge expectation (the chef got a couple of star Michelin in other restaurants) or because during the last 15 days we’ve been in 7-9 Michelin restaurants (so impossible not to compare) I think this was our worst experience. The appetizers were tasteless (bread seemed from yesterday, oyster with jam you couldn’t feel or taste the oyster) the main it was missing some touch (can’t say what either) and the service was really bad. My vegetarian wife was left with no option (so she decided to don’t eat - super frustrated of course) and the waiter seemed she couldn’t care less and the kids didn’t even finish because they didn’t like. Hotel: would certainly stay again (or no because there are some nice options inside the old town as well) but we really enjoyed Restaurant: avoid at all cost

Service was good and location is beautiful and will be exceptional once the construction next door is done. Rooms and hotel would have a great charm if they (1) actually stuck the landing with the furnishings and (2) made sure things were in good condition so the styling felt intentional rather than just old. (Instead of keeping the vintage vibe going throughout, rooms have random office style furniture as lounging chairs and a desk that look like they grabbed them from IKEA. The toilet in our room was broken and required careful jiggling to make sure it would stop running.) Forgivable at a budget hotel. Not so much at a higher price point.

Gorgeous, quiet, fab gardens, xcellent food, in an old part of Avignon. The restaurant with a Michelin star was so pleasant. Food was served on individual arty plates and the tastes were exceptional. The main theme was cucumbers and fennels. There was a sponge cake made with verveine and citrus, oyster shells housing a cucumber mousse with oysters. We had a fabulous pigeon slow cooked on low fire. The result was unbelievably tasty. Highly recommended!
