Gordes is like medieval movie set of Hollywood. When you reach this view point, which is also the starting point of one of the hiking trails in this area, you see a massive village setting over the hill. Castle like building structures and the big church on the top make it look amazing. This view point is a parking spot as well. This just before the entry point of the Gordes. Park your car here and walk a bit on downside you’ll come across the different angles of Gordes and the Olive Gardens on your right (private property, one can see and walk through). Ok week-ends, there’s a painter who paint the beautiful pictures of Gordes and sell them in this same parking. Profitez bien 😊

Always a show stopper. BUT get up at 7am and watch the sunrise ALONE! No one is ever there when I do this. But if you want that sunset moment, where the golden light illuminates "France's most picturesque Village" (maybe...) You will have to battle others trying to get that shot. Limited parking so plan well. For those who have not seen it before, it is well worth it.

The best viewpoint for Gordes. It's on the opposite mountain of the Gordes. You can take pictures of the whole city and surroundings. There is small parking further down the road, it's pretty crowded, but you can wait for a few minutes as people are coming and going pretty quickly.

Great location to take pics of the whole town Gordes. Best to go in early evening or morning to avoid crowd. There is a parking space nearby too. Very easy to access.

Great place to visit. Take your meal with you, nobody will feed you in the city) Working hours of cafes are out of this world and XXI century service.

We could not enter the city - parking is very bad. But the view is beautiful.

This is one one of the most photogenic hilltop villages I’ve ever seen! Wonderful vantage point to snap a few pictures, but beware of traffic around you. Especially beautiful at night as the sun sets.

One of the don't miss villages in Luberon area. Views below the village are spectacular.

Perfect for taking photos of the whole village. Night time just as the lights come on makes for a dramatic shot.

This was yet another spectacular town in the contry side of France. Beautiful little town with some of the most breathtaking views, specially once driving away to Roussillon. A must visit for all folks visiting Avignon as it is only 10-15 kms away from the main city

Atmospheric setting, so many photo ops. Count on getting a good workout climbing up and down the stone laneways in this ancient hillside town. Much has changed here in the last 25 years. Tourism has brought prosperity.

This is the place you want to go. Gordes is much more impressive from the outside then from the inside. The view from here is stunning. In my opinion, you can save yourself paying for a parking spot and going into the village center

Good views up to this hilltop town, a nice place to stop and prepare yourself for exploring. Parking for about a dozen cars, but most only stop for a few minutes so if it's busy circle round and try again.

One of the most amazing views of anything you will ever see. The perspective of this “city in the hills” looks like something out of Lord of the Rings, and it is hard to imagine any country in modern times building a city in this fashion. The town also has some nice restaurants where you can enjoy dinner after taking in the breathtaking views.
