Pont du Gard and the accompanying museum are great experiences for all, especially so for the history fan. The aqueduct itself is truly impressive in scale and in concept. Learning about what the Romans accomplished with this feat of engineering and construction while standing on a 2000 year old structure can be quite an experience. You have access to both sides of the river and can even easily access for river for a short dip or just to put your feet in the water. A nice coffee/snack place and a restaurant also are on site at the aqueduct. The museum is very well done with multiple language displays in both full and small scale and give a great view of the purpose, design and actual construction. Both physical and audio/visual displays. Well worth the small fee. Parking is included if you buy the museum entrance.

Whether you hike up nearby hills or just stay under, there is not a bad view to be had. Museum is very interesting. Keep parking ticket on you and pay €9 before returning to car. Don't be the driver that holds up the exit for everyone...

Super cool! Nice to see how people build such huge monuments and realise the importance of water!

As a history lover, I'm awed by the information that I get from this museum and the marvelous engineering the Romans did during that time. Improvement for the museum: some parts of the museum are rather dark and hard to read the texts. Some audio buttons also don't work. The texts on the white boards are aged and can't be read, they need to be replaced.

You don't realize how impressive roman structures are until you see how far they went for infastructure in one of their territories.

The museum has interesting displays of plumbing from Roman era and also shows how the aquaducts and the bridge were built. Impressive, and mostly how it is still done today! If you just want to view the Pont du Gard and walk around, you do not need to buy a ticket. Only pay for parking.

Impressive monument that can be viewd from either end provided you are prepared to tackle some uneven paths. Substantial car park and visitor reception area with toilets, cafe etc. As a solo mototcyclist with just an hour to spare on my journey I felt the car park charge was excessive and did not represent good value, It's probably OK for a family in a car intending to spend the afternoon there but if you are just looking to absorb a bit of history for an hour there are probably better options. Steps down to the river bank are covered in loose gravel and represent a slip hazard which could easily be dealt with using a broom.

We booked a tour with a guide. I would highly recommend that, because you get access to the true aqueduct and you are able to walk across it. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Her English was on point, but sadly, she was not able to answer English questions from the crowd.

Easy walk to see via duct . Museum was about 40mins to go through. Could do with English audio. Some signs in English though most of the visitors were English speaking on a tour! Staff were nice a nd helpful.

Sehenswert, Öffnungszeiten zum Betreten des Aquädukts beachten, unbedingt die Lightshow bei Nacht besuchen. Badesachen einpacken um im Fluss zu baden!

Local and national visitors enjoy the river and water activities. If you don't have the time, just walk to the viewpoints (panorama) and enjoy! They have cafes and lunch areas for picnics. Amazing engineering and skill to build this structure still standing today.

A great museum explaining the engineering of the aqueduct. Toilets, gift shop and cafe right next to the museum. The Pont du Gard is a 5 minute walk away.

Beautiful place with lots to see and great photo opportunities. Free entrance, but parking is 9 Euros flat rate. It's definitely worth the trip to come see this ancient architecture wonder!

A spectacular historical site, the digital interaction made the experience much better to visualise how things were when it was built and used in the 1300’s

Allow a whole afternoon to really get an unrushed quality experience of the pre-museum Film (15×mins), then a good 1×hour to cover the detailed exhibition + history of the impressive Pont du Gard, then a comfortable stroll to the Pont itself, followed by an optional Swim in the river or a Canoe hire experience under Pont and area surrounding, not to mention the several Cafe and Retailers adjacent.

Fascinating and well-designed depiction of how the aqueduct was designed and maintained, and its role in projecting Roman power. A delight.

Like a Tardis: it is bigger in the inside. But truly amazingly bigger! Very nicely put together, you can see-learn everything that you must know and even more about the Pont du Gard. It is a must see! Even with kids.

Beautiful place to visit They have restaurants, museums and a nice location by the river Gardon where you can swim or picnic by the banks

If you are anywhere near, you must see it. Warning. If you are physically compromised, carefully consider taking the guided tour. There are many steps and uneven footing. The aquaduct itself has a ±67" stone ceiling, and is almost 300 yds long. I had a little difficulty but it was definitely worth it!!!

A wonderfully interesting slice of history! Do visit the museum with its wonderful exhibitions and interesting explanations. Be sure to visit early in the summer months as it gets really hot and crowded!

Pretty cool to see Roman engineering. The short video is kind of pointless and just shows drone videos of the aqueduct

The Pont du Gard museum is an excellent opportunity to learn about the beginning on Nimes and how important water is for civilization.

Impressive Roman aqueduct, the only one left with three rows of arches. Beautiful bathing and kayaking spot visited by local people.
