I'm an advanced fighter that has trained all over the world but usually train in Phuket. I trained in May 2023 at Diamond and while the training here is not my cup of tea, I think it's a great gym for beginners that want to get into great shape. I fly to Thailand to hit pads and to spar but that didn't happen much because there were a lot of students and not many coaches. The class size was between 10 and 30 and there are usually 4-6 coaches. In Phuket gyms there is a much better coach to student ratio. There are more students in the 4pm class. The coaches here are friendly and I enjoyed working with them but I didn't see a ton of technique correction going on during class. The classes are two hours and entire first hour is warm up and conditioning. 15 minutes of jump rope, 15 minutes of stretching, 15 minutes of shadow boxing, and 15 minutes of conditioning drills. The rest of the class is technique and a few times a week you get to hit pads for three rounds and spar for three rounds. I can't speak for the accommodation but I can speak to the food provided. I have been working with a nutritionist and fitness coach for years and I can tell you without a doubt these meals are not sufficient, especially when burning the amount of calories you are in two to four hours a day of Muay Thai. The portion are tiny and it's important to get enough protein. Of course, it depends on your goals. You can get a lot more protein in by eating plant-based and it's much healthier for you. I would recommend asking them to make meals with tofu, rather than chicken. On a moral note, you can see these chickens all around the island with their babies and walking together as families. By eating chicken, you are supporting separating these families and ending their lives prematurely when you have a more compassionate choice that is better for your health. Few ways the gym could improve without sacrificing authenticity: - get a water machine with cold water. it will save the need for so many plastic bottles. - consider getting a decent speaker system for music. the tiny speaker doesn't sound good at all.

Probably my favorite Muay Thai gym experience I've had so far! The community is fantastic, the lessons are varied and the cost was great (thanks for the Covid discount!). The fees are flexible, there are drop-in classes, unlimited weekly, unlimited monthly, and also accomodations. They offer morning classes starting at 8am and evening classes at 4pm. Classes are 2 hrs long. Format: 15 min of cardio (skipping, spinning), stretching, technical cardio training, shadow boxing 2x rounds, 1:1 training and bag work... and then the class will vary, sometimes: sparring, technical moves... Stretching. In between all the breaks, 10 pushups. The accomodations include: huts with a hammock that sleep 1-2, they have apartments with air conditioning nearby (5 min walk), and in the same complex they have luxury apartments where you get a full 1 bedroom (nice if you like hosting people in your space). If you have subscribed to the on-site meals, they look great! I've seen folks eat curry on rice, ground pork/chicken with basil, lean chicken... Oh and there's always a nice runny egg. On-site there's also 'The Carrot Kid' smoothie stand that was apparently Jinx's Covid project. Jinx is also part owner, handles all the $$, smoothie stand and also strength training / fitness component. --- I did not stay with DMT. I paid drop in classes 2x/day starting Tuesday through Saturday. I wish I got the accomodations, because the food looks great, and there's this awesome familiar experience you have with the community after sweating together, to eat together... The nearby places to stay include these bungalows nearby with Airbnb (which I did) and honestly compared to the luxury apartments, the latter is more convenient. I suppose it could have been fun to stay at a resort nearby where you may have to take a 10 min walk to get here.

I stay and trained here for 4 months. Jesse, Simon, Jinx, and the trainers are great people. I had never done Muay Thai before. The trainers were super and hands on to help me get basic form down. I have scoliosis and degenerative disc disease. It was very hard for me to do some specific movements but I feel like I have improved much more and gained mobility doing Muay Thai. They took time with me and the more experience trainers always reassured me that it's no problem and to continue working. Sparring happens nearly every day which is huge in my opinion. That being said the trainers supervise every session. They also won't put you with someone that you aren't ready to spar with. The food is great. It is cooked and prepared daily from mamas kitchen across the street. I came during COVID-19 so the bbq and ice baths were resuming as I left but both are available upon acquisition. They gave me a free room upgrade. If I am being honest; I think the bamboo huts are the move! They have really good air flow and nice. I really appreciate that though as I stayed for awhile. The shop on camp has reasonable prices and they are willing to order directly for you. Jinx has an amazing health bar and I recommend you to order from him. The students here are always looking to make friends and you will find friends to travel and go do things with in Koh Phangan. Come here and experience it for yourselves. You will get what you put into it. (Even if you have some issues like mine, I lost so much weight and became much more fit)

Great place to train for experienced fighters and beginners alike. Diamond attracts diverse group of students. Some are experienced fighters preparing for next fight, some are new and just trying it out. Trainers do good job of tailoring work based on the skill level. Training is always hard but also fun. Most students that stick to the program notice results within a week or two. Train and stay package is not only great value for the money but it allows for very social atmosphere in the camp as well. Big thanks to everyone at DMT. 'Til next time!

Second time at diamond! Still great trainers, especially Pok can train all levels and help you improve. Food is good but portions toned down a bit since 2019, less veggies and no more weekly bbq/ shakes. Point of improvement for the owners: - new clean mats - new gear for the trainers like pads/bags You notice the equipment is getting older and older and hope they will invest soon in the points above to maintain the quality and cleanness. 💪🏼🥊

I stayed on Koh Phangan for 4 days and played kickboxing in the Netherlands for about 5/6 years. So I thought it would be fun to try a lesson in Muay Thai. I walked in without an appointment and was immediately able to receive private training, which was so good that I took 2 more lessons. Experienced and knowledgeable coaches teach who explain in a good and fun way, I have learned a lot from them. The fact is that we have to travel to Krabi, otherwise I would have liked to train longer at this gym. If I'm ever in Koh Phangan I will definitely go back to train. I highly recommend it!

Trained at DMT while travelling koh Phangan, I experienced a number of gyms while traveling Thailand including some of the big names in Phuket. I can honestly say that Diamond was by far my favourite. Big enough to get quality coaching but still retaining a more traditional Thai gym feel which is often lost when training at bigger gyms. Worth investing in a pair of gloves and wraps at a minimum if your training for an extended period of time because like all gyms the communal gloves/shin guards can be a bit tired. The owner was a sound bloke as were all the training staff. Can’t recommend diamond enough, absolute 10/10 see you next year. 👊🤙

I came in with no experience in muay Thai and was looking to mostly get my fitness levels up. Easy done here. Trainers are friendly and like to work on technique. Jesse, Si and Jinx were all welcoming and everything ran smoothly for the week. Chuck your phone in a draw, do some training and let some covid frustration out on a punch bag. Works wonders 😁 My deluxAC room was everything I needed and more. I also had 2 beagel dogs visit me daily from the lady downstairs, lovely dogs and very much welcome visitors

It's hard when you're writing a review after a really good experience to put my experience into words to correctly reflect how amazing my time at Diamond has been. I arrived at the end of November and I have doubts at all that the 2 months I spent at diamond muay Thai changed my life massively for the better. Whether that's the skills gained from the professionalism of the trainers, the close friendships I've gained with people that I've met on my journey or just the whole round experience. Special shout out to Jinx, everyone watches that guy graft day in day out all day, going above and beyond what needs to be done aswell as taking an excellent strength and conditioning class where he puts the tunes on and gets everyone going. That guy is a huge credit to the gym and an all round top bloke. I've no doubts at all that if you want hardcore training where you're dragged out of your bed in a morning then there is better gyms out there but if you're looking to find a balance, train hard, experience a beautiful island in Koh Phangan and make mates for life whilst doing it then I doubt there are any better gyms than diamond muay Thai. The location is central and there is plenty to do. Thanks to Jesse, Si, Jinx, Santos and team you really made this experience amazing for me and I'll look forward to joining you next year at the same time. All the best, Cal

I spent about two weeks at the facility. I stayed in one of the accommodation available: a bamboo hut. It is centred right in the heart of the action. The training is varied and rigourous. I don’t think that I have trained so hard since my military days. But of course, this is all up to the individual. The Thai coaches Are very experienced, many of whom have fought and won several matches. These are people who have done Muay Thai for literally all their life. The dedication to the craft is impressive and I hired a coach for private training every day for the remaining one week. I can say is that I have improved my techniques significantly after my stay. The people at the facility (other customers) are eclectic bunch. They are kind and welcoming. I found a community that during my stay and I’m sure that those who go will feel the same.

I absolutely love this place and cannot wait to be back 🙌🏻 I stayed in the camp in the basic hut for 2.5 weeks - and was suprised to learn you can survive in Thailand without an AC! If you book the stay & train package, you’ll get accommodation (there are room types from basic to fancy), two group classes a day (8am and 4pm) and two meals a day at Mama’s next to the gym (10am and 6pm, love the daily meals and the mango shake!). I did private lessons on top of the daily classes (was feeling the time pressure - I wish I could have stayed months here!) and can highly recommend those (nothing better than getting all the attention, right?). I would suggest to do a few of the classes before you decide which of the trainers has the training style you like most. The gym is great, plenty of space, two rings, all kinds of bags from softer ones to those super heavy ones, free weights, kettlebells, battleropes, TRX... the gym floor does get dirty during the day (some people get way too sweaty and not everyone understands to take off their shoes *facepalm) but it’s always swept and washed in the morning. The group training is great but as with everything, if you don’t speak up, you don’t get. If you need help or more attention, just speak to one of the trainers. I did, and it really helped ;) Overall, I can highly recommend . I’m not a major fan of the general Koh Phangan crowd but the people training at Diamond are some of my favourite people ever. And I miss the dogs!!!

choice for everyone cater to all tastes due to the understandable populairty of diamond muay thai I had to split my time over two rooms so got to appreciate both sides of the coin for options. the huts are super social, right at the gym so really easy to access and you get acclimatised to the temperature really quickly. there's fans to keep you cool. the apartment felt like the ritz in comparison, aircon, private bathroom, private room. however they're more out the way(mine was 5mins walk to the gym ). and your body gets used to the ac and so whenever you step outside you're almost instantly hot and sweaty! (too much of a good thing maybe) service was too notch, any questions or issues are sorted swiftly. trainers are very knowledgeable and friendly. and you're training on a literal paradise island!! 10/10 def going to be back

I stayed here from march - april 2023 pros: absolutely amazing atmosphere. i trained at several gyms across thailand and while in some gyms everyone just trains for himself, the staff at DMT and the students create this family-like relationship with you. you train and eat together, the huts are close by so you have "neighbors" and the staff is all around great. the camp has a whatsapp group chat, which is great for extracurricular activities etc. the training is very structured, something i kinda missed in other gyms. after the warmup, stretching and shadowboxing you either train combinations/techniques or you go straight to pads/heavybags. after everyone had 3 round of each, the session is finished with sparring and stretching. in other gyms you just "exist" and hope some of the teachers approaches you for a pad session, until you are left alone again. also, for people with a bit of anxiety or the introverts: dont be afraid, the teachers mostly pick a training/sparring partner for you that fits your weight and also pick the partner in the following rounds. the huts are super cozy, have a hammock outside and the bathing facilities are clean. bonus is the cat, that liked to hang out with me. also dog people should be satisfied aswell with the dogs ( dunno who and if someone owns them ) the cons: not many. i felt like sometimes my technique was not corrected as much as it should have been. i supplemented that with private lessons ( i took those at jomhod gym, since i found the ones in DMT to be a bit pricey ) and got better quickly thats it. im home for 3 weeks now and i miss this place a lot. i will definitely come back. ah: the location! koh pangan is great and pantip market (2min scooter ride) has all the food you need, although the food in the camp is tasty and sufficient for most peoples macros, if they additionaly buy the whey fruit shakes at pantip. i really recommend renting a scooter ( my experience with big man bike rentals, across the street of DMT was VERY good ) more hip

What a fantastic experience!! I came here as a solo female traveller to train Muay Thai for 1 month. The whole experience was better than I imagined!! The trainers are brilliant, super helpful, always teaching and making sure to add humor to our hours of skipping, pad work and sparring! I was also very lucky as I had a fantastic group of students staying at the same time!! We all forged lovely friendships!! If you are in Pangang, even for just 1 class this is a must!

We booked the package with the apartment for 1 month. (Couple) I really love this school! The trainer and the guys from the office are so friendly and helpfull. The training is exhausting, but this is what i want ;) the apartment was also very nice. I can recommend this school! Its a very cool community ! Only not five stars, because they need new stuff at the gym.

Like one big family. Everyone welcome, all levels catered too, everyone on their own fitness or fighting journey. Very patient trainers. Most social training camp on the island.

Great place to learn and to have a great time, we had a blast in our case!! Muay Thai classes are tough cross-fit style of 2hrs, very intense but lots of fun due to the great trainers and big group of participants of various levels. Some people come here to stay for several weeks or months i.e. to loose weight and get in shape.

Diamond has a fun and positive atmosphere. All skill levels are catered to from first day newbies to multi-year veterans with several fights to their name.

I absolutely loved this camp! I only stayed here for 10 days and i wished i would have stayed longer. The trainings are really good and the trainers are really helpful. You can always have a lough with them what makes the ambience really good. Also the other people training there were amazing! The staff was really helpful and made you feel at home. I am definitely coming back here!

Beautiful family experience at DMT. Everyone, trainers, boxers and clients made us feel right away part of the “family”. Trainers are fun and concerned. I’d recommend the place to anyone who want to become a pro or just want to get in shape and share a fun family time, like us. Keep up good work! Jao, Sea and Mica 🙏🏼
