We stayed here for 4 nights and have previously stayed at Santhiya on Koh Phangan this year and this resort seems to have suffered from pandemic badly and I am sure it will get better when the resort have had some maintenance and renovation. This was the same at their other resort. For the price you pay for a Hideaway Pool Villa, you can expect more. Its pretty worn down and bathroom needs renovation. We could not use the bathtub at all, ants everywhere since there was some kind of nest in the stone decoration. Also there is holes in the sheets and towels have seen better days. I would not complain about this if it wasn't for the stars of the hotel and the price you pay for this villa. Villa is beautiful decorated but you can hear your neighbours every move and sound. And one big minus is that out pool was in plastic and dirty. Not as in pictures. Staff is new, but try their best in terms of service and language. I do think management needs to put more time into training their staff. No shame on people working. This is a management issue. Food was decent, breakfast OK. Pity its in the main building and not in the beach restaurant. Again, I can see this have been a beautiful resort and can become again after some work.

Best resort I've ever been to. Do yourself a favor and splurge for the private pool. There is nothing more refreshing than plopping into a cool pool after a hot Thai day!! Breakfast was really good. Great service. Amazing main pool. At night they have live music by a male and female acoustic duo singing classic American songs. Really talented! There is also a cute Thai restaurant just a skip down the beach (turn right as you walk down the stairs to the ocean, you will see a swing). It's called Rimlay seafood on Google. Simple food, way cheaper than the hotel and a one minute walk away. 1000% recommend!! Thank you Santhiya Tree!

One of most interesting and beautiful resorts in Koh Chang with our own private pool and exceptional customer service. The grounds are kept immaculate and the security guard is very helpful. I definitely would recommend this amazing resort.

We had the best experience here for our honeymoon. Truly a paradise. We’re usually people who like to explore but we enjoyed the resort so much we stayed the entire trip. The food, rooms and staff were top notch. You really can’t beat mango coconut smoothies and Thai food pool side. Can’t wait to come back someday!

One of the biggest private pools I've ever had. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. The lobby/reception area is terrible. The room, while spacious, is poorly laid out with much wasted space. As with Santhiya's other locations, the resort is showing its age. Rot and termite damage will soon become big problems. Breakfast was a solid 3/5 with the musicians being the only stand out. Why the breakfast area is not facing the ocean remains a mystery to me. The staff were very pleasant and professional. Access is not ideal either. Those with vehicles are fine, but the long creepy road is not suitable for walking along at night.

Beautifully designed and well-maintained resort with very friendly professional staff on a beautiful beach. The breakfast is good, including delicious dim sum and noodles. They even serve good cappuccino! Nice view from the rooms with mini infinity pool. Unfortunately we were not so lucky with cockroaches in our room. We had a cockroach in the bedroom on the second day. Since then we've slept with the lights on at night. Later we had a cockroach in the bathroom twice more, one was even hiding in the amenities box. The reception proactively apologized on the last day and reimbursed two massages. We really appreciated that, but all in all our stay of 11 nights was traumatic because of this.

Amazing hotel. Gorgeous hotel, with a kind and attentive team of staff. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and just amazing whether you stay in a bungalow or a room in the main building - the food is delicious, both at breakfast and in the evening, and I have little to say as it is such an amazing hotel. I would without a doubt recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Koh Chang. My stay was flawless, and I would love to come again.

We recommend 100% this hotel for anyone! The style is traditional yet new, simply beautiful. We had a room with private pool and river and hill view, the sunrise over the hills was the perfect start for the day. We ate breakfast and dinner everyday there and the food was amazing and with reasonable prices. The beach side restaurant gave us also the most beautiful sunsets ever, every evening. The staff is simply perfect, everyone was so kind and helpful. We were there for 4 days during a round trip and at the end, we just wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you for the experience!

A lovely resort right on the beach. We stayed in a pool access room, the room has access to your own pool shared by other guest rooms, there Is a second communal pool. Rooms were clean, bed comfy, amazing pillows! The bathroom was grubby I think this is because it has a bamboo roof and lots of dust gets in, the jacuzzi bath was old and needs some TLC, but we didnt use this anyway so that didn't matter to me. The rest of the hotel is very well maintained. The breakfast buffet was very very good, and you have a beautiful view of the mountains to look out on. Saturday night entertainment and buffet was nice. I want to just say a special thanks to the man on reception (can't remember his name) when we had an issue in our room, it was resolved very quickly and we were moved straight away and were given compensation for this. I must say, all of the staff at the hotel were very friendly lovely. The location wae OK, a short ride to the main road 5 minutes, it wasn't a road I'd like to walk down, its very narrow. The hotel offers a shuttle service which runs at set times but if you want to use out of those times you pay 50 bhat per person. There are some bars and restaurants further down the beach, about 15 to 20 minutes, very quiet at this time though.

Great resort for people looking for calmness and relaxing by the sea. It is also good for spending family time. You can rent kayak and paddle board from place near the resort (not a hotel service).

Beautiful hotel with private beach and lovely rooms. We stayed originally in the pool rooms and ours was exactly next to the breakfast area so we changed after 2 nights because we got woken up early. We then moved to the hideaway villa with pool. We actually preferred the room in the other one but we had more tranquility and privacy in the hideaway. The pool was lovely! The service was nice and tried to assist where can. It was sometimes a little inflexible but it is a big hotel. We never ate there despite breakfast. Sadly they would start playing live music around 4 at the pool/beach area and that was not very pleasant. But if you sit far away then it wouldn't bother as much We really just used the facilities but ate and drank and had our massages elsewhere. If you want to relax and stay somewhere beautiful, this is a great place, especially for sunsets! Also nice is that you can use their paddle boards and kayaks for free!

Truly an amazing resort. The rooms and grounds are absolutely beautiful. I had a room with a private pool overlooking the river and mountains, it was stunning. The beachside pool is amazing, so easy to spend many hours doing not much. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The food at the restaurant on site was absolutely delicious. Only downside is the drink prices - very expensive, but generally to be expected at a resort.

Lovely place, beautifully designed in a lovely setting. A little bit shabby round the edges (especially the sun loungers) but generally really good. Nice people, great massages, good breakfast. The only serious down side is the evening live music is very poor and quite loud and goes on quite late!

A fantastic 4 night stay in one of the Garden Villas. Beautiful hotel and lovely setting. The staff are amazing, and all say hello to you so you really feel like a valued guest. Breakfast was good, a good range of options but could be improved. A short walk to town, or they do put on a shuttle as well

6 nights at a Villa with a shared pool. From the moment we arrived at Trat airport, with an excellent pick up service from airport to the moment we checked out the service and standard at this resort is amazing. We would like to recommend this resort for anyone from couple to family’s. Hope to see you again Johan and Frida

September 2023. After 5 years we came back again. The service is as it used to be, wonderful and kind . Breakfast is great with a variety of food to choose from . Beautiful gardening and pool with relaxing outdoors and access to the beach. Hotel restaurant serves good quality and beautifully served dishes. The Coffee is great ! Music artists at breakfast and dinner offer a rather nice and welcoming vibe of Thailand. Unfortunately, it looks as COVIID 19 left its mark, many of the amenities are in need of renovation, fixing, or replacing. We stayed at the garden villa, mattress hard, and found more than one cockroach in the bathroom, during our stay :(

Thank you very much for the great time. The breakfast was rich, fresh and very tasty. Our room was clean, the woodwork was magnificent and we had a great view. The service was incredibly courteous, polite and could fulfil every wish without having to say it. Many thanks to Mr. Touch and all the other staff who made our stay so special.

The resort is so well designed. Big bravo for the architecture. Breakfast with plenty of choices and they all good. Cons: It’s far from the main road and the resort take 100bath/person to take you from the resort to main road or vice versa, which I thought they should give it for free because they build the resort far from the road. The resort has bike for rent at 300 bath/day. At night, bugs, esp stink bugs come to my room even I closed all the doors but somehow they can still get in and it’s annoying.

Amazing hotel that has a soul. I absolutely loved the traditional Thai style and hand-made decorations. Everything was immaculate - from the cleanness of the room (we stayed in a garden villa) to the service. The breakfast was exceptional - the mountain view and the pool were fantastic. The staff is extremely hospitable, helpful, and friendly. We will definitely come back.

The worst stay ever, we’ve stayed hundreds of five stars and because this is one of the most expensive one on the island so we decided to choose here, but we had experienced the worst here. Let me come with the only few good things about the hotel first 1, beach is really nice, one of the best on island but it’s not private , Anyone can come 2, all waiters in hotel restaurants from Myanmar highly attentive without them this hotel worth nothing Here I will add why not staying this hotel 1, sound proof in this hotel 1/10, especially if you have children neighbours and they swim at 11pm or very talkative neighbours from far villas 2, light proof in the hotel 4/10, curtains without blackouts 3, pest control in the hotel 3/10, mosquitoes ants cockroaches all of the place 4, hot water 2/10, let me know why do you have such a big bath if your hot water can only fill 1/10 of the basin, hot water tank can only shower one person comfortably 5, floor in both room and bathroom are oily and slippery, my children fell over in bathroom many times So I wound recommend this hotel 2 out of 10! And had been our worst hotel experience

Delightful place to stay over for short or long holiday Peaceful, serene, beautiful and elegant too Lovely pool, great surroundings, and ideal for the rest of the island Some lovely sunsets, decent food and entertainment on the beach as well. Nice cocktails and rooms are stylish and private as well. We had one with our own pool

Very nice hotel, very nice location and friendly staff. Some of the equipment might need replacement or should be xhanged in order to be up to date. The bathroom is kept clean. Hideaway pool villas are a recommendation, these are great to relax, totally worth it. The prices are irritating, as 10% service fee and 7% tax are added. Prices are okay, however grabbing a meal from the next restaurant at the beach, together with Santhiya breakfast is a great combination!

A truely 5 star property, can't say enough about the rooms. I stayed in two different room categories and both were more beautiful than the other. All the staff is very courteous and always greeting & smiling for the guests. This has to be the best property on this lovely island. It is 1km inside from the main road but their is hotel shuttle service which makes up for it. Also the views of the beach and the backwater river makes up for this small inconvenience. Fell in love with this property.

Private pool villa is highly recommended. Our stay at the resort was ruined from a family that had a screaming child next t to our villa. The staff did not offer to move us or move the family away from guests after we complained many timrs. Also a Russian group set up their 4 speakers and turned the resort into a party zone made the pool access not accessible. If not for these two groups the resort would have been peaceful and relaxing. The restaurant staff and cleaning staff were friendly. Tim was our favorite staff member. He was kind and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the breakfast was delicious. Traditional Thai decor and beautiful gardens.

Great Resort. Friendly staff and best location on the whole island. Lots of great room options all beautifully decorated and a romantic feel. The woodwork of the main building is a true workout art.

I would give 4 stars for this hotel certainly. The environment and facilities are wonderful, like this tropical style, however there are still some areas to be improved. First, the garden room is stylish design which i really like it, but for the cleanliness, there is a big room to be improved on, many insects dead body and broken electric mosquito repeller, not acceptable...cus the first thing when i arrvied was cleaning the bathroom by myself. Secondly, the buffet was awful honestly, the food wasn't keep in warm at the first hour, maybe the machine didnt working in the beginning?! And the worst part was scallops, they didnt clean up the scallops which caused me and my family tasted a lot of sand...they didnt clean the scallops completely even not rinsed? I did feedback to the employees, but we tried three times and it's still the same and costed 650 bath each person. Well, there are still good parts of this hotel. The breakfast is completely opposite to buffet, there are many choices, western style, thai style, it's good for customers. The beach and facilities are good, cozy and relaxing. Overall, it's still not a bad choice if you want to stay here.

Stunning hotel, absolutely took my breath away. Amazing amenities and such a treat. Delicious breakfast and large spread. I did ask them in advance to arrange something special in my room, which they totally forgot about... but they did assist last minute with something small. Welcoming staff could have been friendlier.

We love our stayed with Santhiya tree Koh Chang. The room was very beautiful. We booked pool villa and the pool was big enough for family of 4. Staffs are so friendly and very helpful plus services are so good. Everyone smiley and always greetings us with Thai " Wai " whenever we walked passed them. The kids love break fast with great view. Over all we love our stayed.

One of the best resort that you can choose for your stay while in Koh Chang. Different room types are available in different sizes. you can also pick private rooms and have your own pool. Super super super friendly staffs make your stay even more enjoyable. Fantastic breakfast at poolside. Best location in the island. Highly recommended.

Nice time at this resort. Unlike other resorts, the water was hot, had good pressure and the outdoor bath was very relaxing with the fan overhead and view of the river. The room is beautiful and nice smell with the teak wood, but some parts are old and require maintenance. The resort was understaffed and there was no one at reception at night if there were any problems like we had with loud neighbours. Security helped a little but this was disappointing not to have someone to speak to directly who can help with the situation. The restaurants are really not good at this, and other Santhiya branches. The food is bland and you can barely read it because it's so tiny, but service staff are very friendly and try their best to help. Hotel management and policies are very strict and not that much geared towards customer service, for example menu prices ++ (tax and service charge) and then they offer 12% discount but actually they charge 17% extra so discount is misleading. Also they offer free kayaking but it's only 30 minutes free so not that good. Also, the beach disappears at night and there's nowhere to walk around. One nice thing is booking direct gives you 8% "cash back" on your room booking to use in the resort.
