I have just encountered the rudest hotel manager I have ever had the displeasure to meet. I have been coming to this hotel for 15 years but was just discriminated against because the manager didn’t like how I looked! Me and my partner came to have a warm drink and snacks as we have had on numerous occasions and were told to go into the dinning area only to me told after my partner was seated that we couldn’t have a table if we were not guests of the hotel but before and after we arrived other people where being seated that were not guests. To be treated like this is not what I’ve come to expect from a Van der Valk Hotel and I will be making a formal complaint and advising my company to no longer use this chain as their Dutch hotel partner for colleagues and seminars. Horrendous behaviour and discrimination.

Like this hotel, its one I often come to when in this area. The food is ok and the staff good. The rooms are warm and a good size. I do spend a lot of time in hotels and this is one of my favourite. On this occasion I stayed in a room next to the elevator and it was a bit noisy, I had to close a door between my room and the lift. Other than that a pleasant stay.

Almost traditional old Valk style, with its original cosyness and personal touch. Good food and service; spacious comfortable rooms. Beautiful accessible nature around.

Great rooms, close to Utrecht city, cheap prices, friendly staff. Great beds, bathroom and parking. We had the possibility to check out a day earlier and it was all ok without any fees or anything. Will stay here again if possible next time I visit.

It's very nice to stay in Van DER Valk de bilt. All the staffs are very good and helping in everything.

Very good rooms and cleanliness. Service could be better especially at the reception. Restaurant has a good quality food. Superb breakfast!

5th Time staying. Always stay when Armin is playing at Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Easy Bus to Central Utrecht outside the hotel for less than 3euro. Walk into De Bilt is 10 minutes and some good supermarket and bakery, restaurants. Service is always good. Only downside is the pool was out of order and not advertised prior to arrival which was disappointing. Will come for a 6th time in early 2024

Nice and comfy beds, good secluded location, not too far from the city. Staff is kind, and understood english very well. Rooms are spacy enough.

Only visited for lunch so I can't rate the rooms. The food was great, I had spare ribs which were really tasty. The service was great and with the weather being nice we ate on their terrace, in the sun. Parking was good and being a Van der Valk, it was also Dog friendly !!!

There was a booking error in the system which meant 5 nights were booked instead of 3. I called them immediately- no flexibility by the hotel to waive the nights I would not stay there. Poor service and unpleasant smell in the room.

Sehr schönes Hotel nach dem Van der Valk Standard mit großzuegigen Zimmern und sehr gutem Frühstück. Das Hotel liegt direkt am Wald und ist für Hundebesitzer zu empfehlen. Mit dem Linienbus geht es schnell, günstig und unkompliziert nach Utrecht. Man kann also auch bis spät Abends ruhig sein Auto am Hotel lassen und kommt problemlos aus der Stadt wieder zurück.

Haben 2 Nächte verbracht ohne Frühstück. Große Dusche, die Betten nicht zu weich und Kaffeemaschine auf dem Zimmer. Nur ca. 6 km bis zum Zentrum in Utrecht.

Tolles Hotel in guter Lager zu Utrecht.Saubere Zimmer. Toller Service von allen Mitarbeitern. Wir haben das Frühstück sehr genossen und kommen wieder. Empfehlung

Good food, excellent service, not expensive

TL;DR I'm not sure if it's a barely reasonable hotel or a nice bed & breakfast. Calm and nice location, however too far to go anywhere at night. On the other hand, it is close to good transportation during the day. Rooms are nice, although the rest of the building could use some maintenance and upgrades. From dirty walls, old elevators with buttons falling out of the sockets, to old vending machines that you could expect in a public park, the have some urgent upgrades to make, in addition, being so far from Utrecht, they would definitely benefit from some room service which we were told they didn't have, neither was there anything in the fridge. They only had the old cash only vending machine downstairs. If the hosts and waiters weren't so nice and helpful, I wouldn't give it such a high rating.

Inside of the hotel is like a Maze, you get lost so easily. Better readable signs would be helpful. There is a Road around the hotel. It can get noisy at times. My colleagues were complaining about the road noise. But it depends on the room you get. I didn't have that problem.

If you have a car visiting Netherlands, it’ll give a great advantage accessing everywhere, also using P + R. It offers competitive pricing per night comparing to hotels in tourist heavy areas. The hotel rooms are bigger than the usual, and surprisingly clean comparing to any other regular hotel rooms. I found the breakfast and the service great. It has a free parking too, that was the main reason why I chose this place originally.

Beautiful place, the rooms are clean and beautiful. The restaurant is a bit expensive but the food was very good and waitresses were beautiful, the staff was very friendly. If you need a place to stay in Utrecht, you should come here.

Lovely modern rooms, excellent restaurant, the food was amazing. Shame the bar in the hotel was closed.

Was there for a meeting. The conference rooms were nicely decorated, the bar was nice and the waiters friendly. The food in the restaurant (buffet) was really good and regularly you were asked if everything was OK or to pick up empty plates. Overall, it was a really nice experience. The only downside is that there are conference rooms everywhere and it was not really clear where we had to be.

Great hotel. Good vibe as soon as you arrive and extremely comfortable nice big rooms. Staff bent over backwards to welcome and especially over Easter weekend when the hotel was packed, the weather outside was wonderful and they were stuck inside working. The attitude and hospitality towards guests was outstanding. Thank you for a terrific stay, I will only ever pick this hotel when visiting Utrecht.

Newly built hotel situated in the outskirts of De Bilt. Can be easily reached by bus, but I would advise a taxi if you're carrying heavy suitcases. The bus stops about 12 min walk away from the hotel. It's fine if you're carrying small luggage, but a bit of a pain if you're carrying 20+kg bag. Check in experience was pretty poor as the staff were not so friendly during check in or check out. Room was clean and well looked after, they look pretty new, so no complaints there. We got a room, where the two beds were combined into one with 2 single mattresses. This was very uncomfortable and after the first night, we asked them to change it into a room with a single large mattress, we paid extra 10 euro. The room was bigger and had the big king size mattress, however, the TV was then smaller. So the room was a downgrade and an upgrade at the same time?!? Food menu is decent in the restaurant and is the closest place for food unless you fancy a 10-15 walk to De Bilt town center, however the prices average on around 20 euro for a main meal. In summary, a new fresh hotel, a little bit out of the way and the staff attitude is a little stinky, but does a grand job for the money.

Oh that place will stays always the best in our hearts, we go there with work or we stay there just for fun and it's always nice. Location is great, place is beautiful, amazing park in the neighbourhood. Didn't kept they're quality in corona times with the breakfast, but now it's getting better. I love that it has swimming pool.

Very nice hotel with good restaurant and staff. I appreciated my short stay. There is also a pool.

I cannot give my opinion about the rooms. I only went there for a easter brunch with the family. The brunch was nice, but clearly it was overbooked, it was very busy. Service was okay but due to the cicumstances it the forgot some basic things. Like which side to hand over the food, what glass fits whit which drink.

The experience was let down by the buffet. We found some of the diners very inconsiderate. They would pile one plate high with at least 6 servings of salmon and also did the same with the chicken. They would fill bowls multiple times with ice cream. Also in the morning someone filled a carrier bag with fruit and bread. At times there was hardly any food for the rest of the diners to eat. I would certainly not want to stay on a buffet basis again.

Sad.. the Schnitzel are always that good. 18.50 with some bacon onions etc. Here is worse than in the first snack bar close buy. Totally not the Van der Valk spirit .. cheap all over

the bed was very uncomfortable. The food is really bad. Be careful with the blocking of security deposit of your credit card. After paying my bill, I asked the staff to communicate to their master card transaction handling bank that they have no use for that money anymore. They totally refused to do it. As a consequence my bank hold the deposit for a long period of time. I would not recommend this hotel.

For more than 30 years this hotel has been serving guests from all corners. In some respects the wear and tear shows. Coffee machine leaks water, rain shower is in urgent need of decalcification, fridge regulator is not working properly, you know, the little things. However the beds are soft but comfortable, turn down is complete, place is clean, good little swimming pool, nice gratuit toiletries, decent parking, friendly staff. Nice place everything considered.
