Overall: Terrible management. Staff is very rude (understandable given how over worked and stressed they are). Arrival: If you arrive at the airport, bring your European passport. The security line for EU ID cards took us an hour. Be prepared for lots of waiting. Baggage: after waiting so long, the bags are no longer on the belts. All bags are just thrown around, all over the place. Anyone can take a suitcase, unsafe. Put lots of locks on your baggage and mark it to make it easily visible. You might have to look for your luggage for another hour. If you can fly in somewhere else, please consider another airport like Rotterdam or Eindhoven for peace of mind.

Beautiful and clean airport that is larger than it appears on maps provided by the airlines. When looking at the departures board, it is organized by the departure time rather than alphabetical for destination cities. If you know that, you should have no issues, found any direct date to make a connection. Well organized with wide walkways and many moving walkways to get you to your gate quickly and efficiently. Just be careful when exiting the moving walkway. It is very easy for your luggage to tip over if you have more than one piece stacked on top of each other. Plenty of shops to pickup a snack for on the plane or gifts to bring to loved ones. Everything from high end champagne to small toys. Will require you to produce a boarding pass or as they refer to it, aborting card. This is not something that is in clerk's control so please don't be upset with them about it. They are about halfway through decorating the airport for the Christmas holiday upcoming. I expect when I pass back through on my way home in 2 weeks it will be bustling like a mall ready for Christmas shoppers!

I love this airport so much. They’ve upgraded everything, from waving your hand to flush the toilet, to beautiful art and architecture inside & out, fast functional security lines, everything is labeled in English so it makes getting around simple and easy. Lots of restaurants, food & shopping options. I recommend to get there early if you’re dropping your bags. If you have a carry on you don’t need to arrive here so early. It only took me an hour to get through security & customs as I’m Canadian. The passport was scanned easily and took no time at all. Security they’re very efficient & lots of the lines were open. They do a body scan which makes everything quick and easy.

One of the best I've been to. Friendly staff. Convenient seating spaces to charge electronics and take a nap. I had one of the best naps here at this airport. 😝 Loads of options for food and beverages. Clean toilets. Will definitely be choosing KLM and Amsterdam Schiphol for transits in the future.

Wow, massive airport certainly wasn’t expecting it but it was very well organised. Everyone was warning me all these issues and when you leave be there four hours before. Well I must say the Que was very long but it moved so well I certainly didn’t have to be there four hours before! The duty free shops were very cheap oh my word cheaper than any gift shopping in any of the towns for sure ! Really lovely airport in a really lovely city definitely be coming back soon! Really easy to navigate the airport!

Very well organised airport. Best part is no delays for handling handicapped passengers, they are super fast in handling the wheel chair passengers. Excellent service and very neat and clean airport with all the facilities and very polite staff. Love this airport.

This must be one of the biggest, busiest European Airport. The facilities for passengers are outstanding, signboard are well placed and one can easily go to his terminal / gates. There are plenty of duty-free shops , food courts famous food chain kiosks . One doesn't feel bored here

This is a largish airport laid out in a long row of terminals. The airport is clean and very travel friendly. They have large boards with flight details every few yards. Ample sitting space. Plenty of chargers for the current tech heavy travelers. I really liked their bathrooms. Very large, clean and spacious. They have several stalls provided thoughtfully with stylish knobs to hang bags. The center of the airport is a mini shopping complex; brightly lit in festive colors. They also have a small art museum, a sprawl space and plenty of travelators and go carts for the old or handicapped. Great place!

We've heard bad things about this airport airport - and - we can see why .. Even if COVID wasn’t messing things up, we found this airport to be probably the least intuitive airport we've been to in our travels. Though it seems you can get pretty much anywhere in the terminal without taking a shuttle or people mover - WHERE - to go requires either having been to your specific airline previously, or, wandering around until you find a display that tells you where your airline's check-in counters are. At every other airport we've been to, this information is very obvious before you even enter the terminal. The automated check in kiosks weren't working, (select your airline - then the screen goes blank and goes back to "select your airline"), so people had to wait in line for the single agent working the counter to manually check you in and tag your bags. At counters with more than one employee, they seemed more absorbed in chatting with each other than moving the line of passengers along. Several passengers were told that the counter position they moved up to didn't check in for that airline - even though that airline name was clearly displayed above the counter position Once checked in, and navigating to the security screening area, the process of loading your carry-on bag, coat, shoes, etc was made longer by the employee only allowing three passengers to load bins at a time - where this is never a problem at other airports. Once you get to your gate, you discover that all of the restaurants and bars are WAY back where you can from. Finally, as we sit here on the ramp. (NOT the "tarmac" as the journalists like to call it) we find we have a "20 minute delay" due to luggage not being loaded quickly. Of course, that 20 minutes stretched to over a half hour. Now that that's finally done, there is ANOTHER "20 minute" delay to wait for a push back. Plan as we might, with over an hour between connecting flights at our first stop, this airport has managed to endanger that connection and guarantee that what WAS going to be a relatively stress-free and even leisurely connection in Rejkyavik is likely going to be a frantic footrace. Thanks you guys. Never again. I'll fly out of Zürich next time. I'm giving this airport two stars because it's possible that some of the problems could be the airline. Still, the nonsensical airport layout, lack of adequate signage, and poor security logistics falls squarely on the "designers" of this logical, inefficient airport. ***** Update - because of the hour and a half delay at this airport, we very nearly missed our connecting flight in Iceland. In fact, our two checked bags DID miss the flight and we had to do without them for two days. All because of the delays at this airport. Save yourself grief and worry - avoid this place and select an airport where logic and competence prevail. Edited - upon reviewing my reviews - I found this review was declined by Google. I hadn’t used some of the words I dearly wanted to use, and just eased the word - H-E-double-toothpicks. I also went back and replaced every occurrence of the actual name of the airport with “this airport” as the name -does- sound a bit like you’re making fun of it. We’ll see if it gets accepted this time. Update - my wife went through this airport again in late February 2024 - and guess what? Flight delayed on the ground to the point that the connections were a footrace at the next airport. Guess this place is reliable - and not in a good way!

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol exudes a sense of seasoned elegance, although its infrastructure may reveal a touch of age. As a bustling hub, it accommodates a diverse array of travelers. Culinary offerings span a spectrum, with a predominant focus on Western-style fried cuisine. However, discerning palates will appreciate the Asian fusion restaurant tucked away amidst the culinary landscape. The airport boasts several boutiques, each offering a unique selection of souvenirs and merchandise. Families traveling with children will find respite in the dedicated playground area. Notably, the staff exhibit commendable friendliness and helpfulness, enhancing the overall travel experience. One delightful surprise is the mini art museum The Rijksmuseum Schiphol — a tranquil oasis where travelers can immerse themselves in curated artworks. However, a minor inconvenience lies in the scarcity of conveniently located showers equipped with bath products. Perhaps an enhancement in this regard would further elevate the airport’s amenities. In summary, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, despite its perpetual activity as a major hub, manages to maintain a decent standard. Travelers passing through will find a blend of functionality and moments of artistic respite.

Huge, well-kept and beautiful but somewhat confusing airport. Lots of restaurants and shops. When we arrived at passport control almost all counters were closed and only 2 were open and it took a very long time - certainly not okay for an airport of this size!

What can be said about this airport? It's just beautiful and huge, it was great to visit. Super effective and fast checks, friendly and super helpful staff. The airport is really very clean and safe. It can be easily reached by public transport or alternatively by taxi which cost around 13 euros per person. Congrats!

Great airport for any kind of traveling. A lot of options for food or entertainment while you are traveling and have a long layover. All of the navigation signs are clear and visible. Paths are easily identifiable and if the distance to your gate isn’t walkable then you can take a buggy to reach the gate faster. Recently one of the best European airports I’ve been.

This airport used to be very popular and it used to be quiet a comfortable experience thought out checking and boarding. However, for the last couple of years it has been an ever increasing frustration to travel though this place. With waiting lines of literary hours given COVID related layoffs and the struggle to hire new workforce, do expect to be waiting in line for hours before security check and boarding even before 6am. Also the premises are in bad shape of dirty, specially before the security check.

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is the main international airport of the Netherlands. It is the home of the KLM Royal Dutch Airline. It is a very beautiful and large airport with flight connections to major destinations all over the world. It has buses and trains connections, nice airport lounges, duty free shops, and enough seats to relax. It is a very neat and quiet airport. Really nice!

WoW !!! Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is one of the very few airports which are nice, clean, ultramodern, well organized and managed. This airport has decent restaurants to buy food and drinks. It has spaces to rest while recharging your phones or gadgets. I found the staff very polite and helpful. All of the navigation signs are clear, visible and easy to follow. Lots of stores to buy affordable duty free goods and gift items.

Good big airport. Domestic and international flights fly and touch down over day and night time. A bit old airport but still looks modern. Public transportation are all available at airport Taxi, Buses, train and taxi fare are from airport are much better than other airports in Europe. Unfortunately airport closed but early at night so must no count on shops under late night transit. By the way I love BMW cars and here a fantastic one at the airport.

Nice airport but it is extremely busy during the summer 2022. So make sure you arrive and have plenty of time before your flight. The queues are mainly towards the gates and can get extremely long!

The airport vibe is very good. I arrived here from Toulouse France and had a layover for 5 hrs till i boarded my flight for Prague. There are many options for food and coffee and other shops. The security is quite smooth. Again a great place for airplane spotters. There is space for work , ample of space for people to rest and cycling zones to exercise.

Due to the pandemic, there was barely any crowd and majority of the shops inside aren't open but you can still get food to eat and find a spaced out place to sit. Mask policy is in place too. Felt safe, I and my family flew KLM and the checking in section was on point with helpful staff observing proper health protocol too. I'm not used to this airport having an empty feel but that's fine with me for the good of humanity.

Great big airport with all facilities. All kinds of shops available and a lot of food options. Many international airlines fly to Schiphol, which makes it a great location to spot all kinds of planes. Security is well organised with short lines. This airport is very big which is why you sometimes have to walk long distances to and from the plane. Downside is the wait for luggage at arrival. Due to the size of the airport it takes very long before your luggage arrives at the belt.

The airport is quite large, but we quickly found the exit when arriving in the city and the gate when taking off. There are plenty of places for a short rest. All staff speak English. Quick access to hotel shuttle buses. We bought very good quality clothes and souvenirs on our way out.

Back to normal and bustling with activity. Good to see it back to its usual self after almost three years. But airport services are still not back to normal which needs to be fixed at the earliest because it seems to be an unusual summer of travelling so better get your services back to normal to catch up with the rising demand.

This airport is great. Very clean, any staff I had interactions with were very helpful and friendly. From standing in line to check our bags to after we were through security was probably 45 min, which I was happy with. There are lots of things to do after security, we had lunch and the girls went to Starbucks.

The airport has a plaza that has a lot of stores. The problem is that there are some of them closes so early even though they are located at the airport!! Otherwise the airport staff are helpful and kind! There is an underground train station at the airport which make it easy to transfer through it

It's actually a well-functioning airport with clear signage for most things. There is self-service for EU passport control 10-12 machines and then 2-4 inspectors for all other passports oh it works well when it works, but unfortunately I have experienced both on departure and return that these machines do not work and then it is a nightmare for there no more inspectors come and the waiting time becomes unreasonably long, over an hour, and it is not a pleasant experience. However, it is good that you do not have to check in your hand luggage when you arrive from the USA

This airport used to have long delays back in 2022 but when we arrived in February 2023 there were no issue. The airport ran very smoothly. First visit to this airport was memorable: beautiful terminals, pristine clean (especially the extra large bathrooms), great foodies with contactless option, plethora of affordable shops, 14-hour layover, and comfortable sleeping chairs. The 'silent' system took some getting used to. Not hearing flights and announcements broadcast was very different.

If you are traveling through Amsterdam Airport, there are a few things you should know. The airport does a good job of guiding passengers to their terminals and destinations. However, there are some aspects of the airport that could use improvement. For example, if you need to grab a bite to eat or a drink, you won't find anything during the check-in process. Instead, you'll need to head to the arrivals area. Additionally, the airport is not accommodating to people who have difficulty walking long distances. The facilities are in need of urgent upgrades to help those who require additional assistance. Another area of concern is the cleanliness of the airport. The toilets are often not well-maintained, and even the popular lounge 52 leaves something to be desired. Seats, tables, and floors could benefit from more frequent cleaning. Once you've checked in, however, you'll should be ready for some duty-free shopping. The signs are clear and easy to follow. Despite its shortcomings, Amsterdam Airport is a good option for your travel needs.

So big airport, remeber to be earlier for your safe because its big. Rental car office, and the actual cars are on the totally different sides of airport. So mind that, when ordering car, first go to the office near the centre of airport, sign documents, and then go for car. Nice, big airport. Welcome to Amsterdam.

One of the World's best airport. Very well organised. It's very high tech and also well decorated, well planned. Just two tips, they will say no need to remove electronic at security control but sometimes security system don't let them pass and you will wait another half an hour. Better remove electronics from luggage. Another thing is be prepared for long immigration lines. Automatic passport control system need to be updated.

Despite all the lines you need to do, the great deal of it or the compensation is to relax a bit in the Baby Lounge… a big place with many different small spaces … it has a bed for the baby and 2 comfortable seats. Space enough for the hang luggage and quiet enough for the kids and babies ❤️❤️ just love it …
