1)There was lack information about the food in the menu and the waitress didn't give enough information. 2)She could not even think of bringing forks. We reminded it. 3)After having our orders we couldn't see any waiter. So we couldn't refresh our drink. Same reason, you can not even ask the bill, you need to go to the cashier. 4) A staff (probably the owner) was taking the clients' pictures without their permition. 5)When you need to go to the wc, you need to reserach it by yourself 'cause it is downstairs and there is no sign. In the end we found some one to ask(probably the owner), he tried to send us to Westerpark's WC. Firstly I thought it was a joke and smiled. ThenI realized it wasn't a joke when he asked  "Are you eating here?" After I said 'yes' he didn't even describe it properly and said "downstairs " where were another rooms not only the restrooms- again no sign. By the way he didn't even say sorry for trying to send us the park's wc. 6)The restrooms were very disgusting. 7)They have nice food. Summary: They have nice food however they probably think that running a restaurant and selling food are completely same things. The service quality from A to Z was awful.

Great atmosphere and delicious food. The 3 course menu can be ordered in different variations (meat, fish, veggie, etc) and includes several small dishes. We shared the same menu choice, but could not finish it; it’s a lot but very yummy. The owner is indeed quite particular, but did not affect our experience in this wonderful restaurant!

We love it every time. The food is amazing!!! And the location in the park is really beautiful on a summer night) Be carefull you don’t order too much. The portions are huge) Service can be little chaotic at times but always charming. (Photo: 2 x the 1 course meal)

Very nice setup in the park with tables outside. Amazing food and nice ambience with etnic music and food. The food have a good appearance, so I started eating and only took the photos later :D It is not a 5 star just because the service could improve, there are too few people to take your order.

The food was quite good and a lot. However the restaurant seemed to lack attention to detail. The tables were somewhat dirty, staff seemed a bit aloof, the table was too tall, and the atmosphere was cold. It’s also overpriced, particularly 6.50€ for a mint tea. Overall we were disappointed.

Went there for a company event and I was wonderfully surprised. Main course was vegetarian, nomadic mezze menu I think, and it was super flavorful. Sweet potato with berries and other veggies. Service was great and I'd like to go back. The only minor issue is that the restroom is downstairs outside, bad in cold and rainy weather, but it's manageable and the food is really nice.

The food is excellent. We didn’t take photos of the food but everything that we ordered was very very good. The vibe and the service are great. Price is reasonable. My first time of African food and very impressed.

Lamp is really good and spicy. They can really improve on their services. We waited for really long for the meal and the bill. We ask for the bill for 3 times to get out of the restaurant ASAP the still stuck there for a really long time. I order tap water but the waitress give me glass water instead.

Positive: the food was not bad. Negatives: We were a party of c 20 people, on a sunday evening, the restaurant was not busy. Having chosen whether we each wanted 1, 2 or 3 courses, as instructed by the staff, we were then told we had to decide unanimously on the number of dishes (ie some couldn't have starters unless all had starters), absurd policy. We each made a selection of fish, meat or vegetarian (as instructed by staff), when the food came it was put randomly on the table for sharing, with some people being at the opposite end of a 20 person table from what they had ordered. There was one measly portion of sides provided to share between 4 to 5 people. At least give a reasonable amount of this when paying 40 euro for a meal. At the end of the meal, we were offered desserts but needed to settle the bill for mains first and then we were allowed to order dessert. 10 people wanted dessert. Having paid for the desserts (individually), the staff insisted that 11 desserts had been brought and someone had neglected to pay (which was not the case). Having spent in excess of 800 euros, they insisted we pay for the 11th dessert. Overall a really bad experience. The food was decent, but the service, price, quantity, ease of experience were all really bad.

The food was just above average and incredibly expensive. A lot of the dishes were super oily and salty and seemed cheaply made. The salad in the 1st course was extremely basic, the shrimps in the 2nd course were over cooked, and it was almost impossible to peel them because they were so tough and the skin was glued to the flesh. I will definitely not come up, especially for 49 euros per person for non very tasty 3 course meal…

The staff is really friendly and helpful, great service. The food however wasn't that great. Only the salmon dish was seasoned well. The other dishes, despite all the added herbs, were quite bland and could use a touch of salt or two. The vegetables were very mushy, as if it had been cooking for the entire day already. Where the starter and main dishes were missing some salt, the dessert or at least the baklava missed a bit of sweetness/honey. The location is very nice, the hospitality is great, but the food didn't get me hooked nor left the desire to come back.

Beautifull restaurant but the owner was really rude and not welcoming in his communication and behaviour. The food was good but expensive for only one main course for just two person was 65 euro. Last but not least one of The most important things when you go out to eat is atmosphere and service. That was totally not friendly in every way and not service minded at all. I hope it gets better because the kitchen works hard.

Rainy Friday lunch time, and very quite hence the low rating for the atmosphere .BUT delicious food. We took the mixed Mezze lunch, mix of vegetables , rice, couscous, chicken and gambas for 2 with their bread, everything was delicious and right quantities for us.

Had a fantastic lunch at the Prinsengracht Restaurant! Laurent was their serving up and it felt and tasted like you were being fed by your favourite Uncle. The food was delicious and diet issues were effortless.

I really like the vibe of the place and satisfied with the service. The food was absolutely delicious, and good portions at that. I would say the drink menu is a bit overpriced, but we only had a glass of wine and enjoyed that.

Delicious tasting dishes. On a Sunday night they offered one menu (+ dietary restrictions) which had many tasty dishes - we had the vegan one and every dish was full of flavor and a delight. Prices are a bit high, but go with the quality of the cuisine.

We had an amazing experience. They were shortstaffed but we didn’t notice anything. We had a drink outside and then went in very relaxed. Then the chef explained everything. They had mezzes. Well mezzes are usually pretty small, these were pretty big. He asked about our preferences and allergies and stuff and made a menu for us. Everybody was really sweet, the food was delicious. My stepdad is Algerian and said “this is my food”. We are here as a kind of sugar party, because my stepdad had done the Ramadan. We had two courses. It was so much that I brought half an untouched stuffed pumpkin home. So I’ll have a second round tonight. The price was also really good. We sat at a table but you can also stay grounded and do the full nomad experience. I would highly recommend this to friends and maybe even enemies.

We loved the food (but it's pricey), the atmosphere was very nice, but there is also room for improvement. The music was loud when we arrived and the volume kept increasing, so had to raise our voices to be able to talk. Sadly, I could hear the person next to me. The owner (I think) was very friendly, and it was great to see him dance between tables. He was really enjoying himself. But personally, I found him to be too intrusive. I don't see this in other reviews, so this might be a personal opinion. He poured my friends wine, even though they did not want any and tried to sell us 3 courses instead of 2. There was no need for this and it made the evening less enjoyable. The other waitress was very nice and professional.

Great ambiance, fantastic food. Notable the change in menu to follow the chefs recommendations was a surprise, yet a welcome one. Even without a reservation we found a table and were served fast. Non smokers should ask for a table a bit further away as smoking neighbouring table made enjoying the dinner experience a little challenging. Cocktails are large and very tasty.

Normally don’t leave reviews but the food here is always amazing, beautiful seating arrangement in the park, and the staff goes above and beyond. Because of the curfew (and police) we had to pack up before we could finish our dishes so we asked to have the remainder of our dinner for take away.. but then the kitchen whipped up new and full portions of food and a bottle of wine to take home. Was really not expected, but nevertheless appreciated. Anyway, 10/10 would recommend 👍🏾

My fiancee and I dined at Rainarai for her birthday. The atmosphere was great, the staff extremely courteous, the food very tasty and beautifully presented. It was our first time trying Algerian food; we really enjoyed it - particularly recommended if you like spiced food.

Okay so the food was AMAZING! AMAZING! But our experience was a tad odd. We had a 7:45 reservation and had a great first and second course but during our second course the entire serving staff sat down for their own meal. It’s great and all for the staff to be fed but a tad weird that we were completely ignored while they ate, chatted and hung out. I had to get up and ask them for another drink. And then they started clearing all of the empty tables before they even cleared our plates or started on our desert (it’s a set menu so you order up front and you shouldn’t really have to get up and ask for your dessert). Honestly just a weird experience. Cool place and great food but just don’t expect traditional service.
